We had an old car, with a lot of miles, and we knew there was a transmission issue. So we had it towed in, and I had many conversations with Rusty through the course of the three days it was there. They were trying various diagnostic measures to see the extent of the problems, and there were obstacles in the way of easy diagnoses.Finally, when one more complication surfaced, he advised that the car was not worth fixing. I expected quite a hefty bill for all of the time he had spent working on the car, and explaining all the problems to me. He charged us nothing!

I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu that had 2 broken lines that was causing my transmission to slip Mr Rusty offered to look at my car for free I felt confident then he called me with a best and a worse Scenario to fixing my car it went from $450 to take my entire transmission out of my car to do an internal look best was $3200 worst was $4200 for repairs keep in mind he never mentioned anything about addressing the 2 broken lines that was causing the issue in the first place I told him I would get a second opinion took my car to Kenny’s Transmission he suggested I fix the 2 lines first because that is what was causing the issue and wow !! Problem solved he replaced the 2 lines with GM parts refilled my fluid and my car is working perfectly! Mr Rusty was trying to sale me a sales pitch instead of actually telling me what I need to fix my car he was concerned about money not making sure he satisfied the customer by address the issue at hand I would not recommend this shop to anyone and I won’t return!

Great customer service, got my car looked at in no more than an hour, they came in early before open business hours to look at my car, referred me to a specialist for the electrical issues I had, definitely know who I will be using in the future! Highly recommend to anyone who has transmission issues, DON’t GO THROUGH A DEALERSHIP call AMMCO!

Update to this review. After having my car towed from AAMCO to another shop a diagnostics test was done and revealed the source of engine trouble was caused by a blown head gasket and broken motor mounts. AAMCO had my 2008 Nissan Altima at its shop from March of 2021 to July 6 2021. I never received a report from the shops owner, Rusty Roux in reference to the cost of repairs and diagnostic tests. Each time that I have called I am either placed on hold or my call is never returned. Nor have I received a reply from the emails sent to AAMCO via its website. Upon going to the shop and looking for my car we found it to be in a junk pile with cars to be salvaged or sold. If AAMCO could not repair my vehicle Rusty Roux should have said so. Very unprofessional service and slow service. This shop does not treat its customers with respect and it may be because they offer financing on vehicle repairs and most people are not doing well financially so they are taken for granted. Please avoid this shop. Update; After having my car towed from AAMCO I had it delivered to another local shop. I received I telephone call from the shop stating my car was repaired. The diagnostics tests revealed that engine trouble was due to a blown head gasket and broken motor mounts.

I dont appreciate what i had to experience with you guys..He was honest in the beginning..But after a couple of days i have been lied to.First he told me my truck was being worked on when i was sitting next to my truck sitting outside his shop.He had my truck almost a month.He said i was having transmission problems which that wasnt it.When i brought him my truck it was jurking and didnt want to go into second gear. It wasnt driving to bad that i couldnt get it to his shop.Now that i received my truck it barely want to drive or back up.Its leaking transmission fluids plus its dragging and barely want to drive..I will not recommend no one to go to him.

After my conversation with Rusty I felt confident that AAMCO was the place to bring my vehicle for repairs. I was told to bring my vehicle in for an inspection to determine the cause of the problem. After the inspection was completed Rusty told me what to expect going forward with my repairs. I am pleased to say that at this point I have no further issues with my vehicle.

I took my 2009 Honda Civic LX in, because my belt was loose and had slipped off of two pulleys. Three days prior, a mechanic tried to replace my belt tensioner and belt at home, in the dark. He did not tighten up a few bolts that held the water pump and tensioner pulley. My car had an emergency shutdown while I was driving, so I drove it in to AAMCO before I killed the engine. AAMCO was only half of a mile from where my car electrically powered off. Thank goodness!😇 They diagnosed everything for me after two business days. My belt tensioner was still fresh and new, also my belt, but I needed a new water pump because the bolts had been driven into the water pump pulley and could not be taken out. The labor is very expensive, but I did get it fixed and it drives so amazing now! It costed me a lot of money but I have my car back to being a champ on the road. I am happy with their service. Now I need a paycheck!😂

If you are having ANY transmission issues whatsoever, I highkh recommend contacting Mr. Rusty Roux over here at the AAMCO on Florida Blvd. I thought I needed my transmission flushed but it turned out I had a deeper issue and he advised me to bring it in and he would diagnose if for free. He did just that, plus informed that all the work I needed was under recall and I wouldnt need to pay a dime - talk about one happy customer!

When the dealer told me that my transmission was kaput and would cost $6,000 to replace with an entirely new one, I needed a second opinion. (They also tried to sell me a new car).It seemed sensible to have transmissions experts do the job, and at least rebuild rather than scrap an entire transmission. I arranged for the car to be moved to the transmission experts at AAMCO on Florida Blvd. I will never regret that move. It was NOT the transmission; they immediately found that it was a broken axle. The work was quick, courteous, and Rusty Roux has earned my trust.The work was reasonably priced, and the personnel very courteous.They also run a clean shop and protect the interior of the car from grease with mats in the floor.I recommend them to anyone in need of expert mechanical services. I will return to this AAMCO shop for any future automotive needs.

This is the worst place you can every take your car my husband took his sitter car there after picking it up she go halfway down the steer and it started running hot, there were cap from the barrettes missing, the mat from the driver side looked like they just took it and drove it on the mechanic shop floor it was full of oil please be careful with this shop we took it back he lied and said he order a part and was proven to be lying car has be there over 30 day I don’t know where he is getting these good reviews from this man is not liable please be careful he’s a liar

BEWARE THIS IS A RIP OFF I wouldnt bring my car back to this place even if it was free Rusty talk a good game but when we 1st talk my car was supposed to be done at the end of that week well it took as long as a month for me to get my car car back after I had took out a $2000 loan and started paying on it before I was able to finally get my car and to put the icing on the cake once I went up to AAMCO to see whats going on with my car Rusty didnt have a clue where my car was talking about its getting computer programming at the dealership and once we went back a forth because at this time I have got just fed up I walk outside and for me to see my car in the corner in front the building this made me really question this place but to make long story short I got my car and not even a week passed before the same problem came back and Rusty like just bring it and hell get it straight... no I truly regret going to this place and wasting my time and money I honestly wasted more money and time than I ever expected ! Rusty like to comment these reviews with excuses or blaming someone else but tbh I had to end up getting another car after I spent all that money to be faced with the same issues just days later dont no one have time to keep running back for something that was supposed to be fixed from start and wouldnt even allow me to test drive my car once it was supposed to be fixed to at least go down the street to Tower Credit to pick up the loan to pay him !

Rusty, the owner, did a good sales pitch. My daughters Acura was brought there and fixed over a period of a few weeks. They didnt put in the king pin which made the left tire assembly fall off. It bent the fender. It took five weeks for them to make repairs all while we were paying for a rental car he refused to reimburse for the rental car and also did a terrible job on the paint job told me it was our problem not his. He has lied and does terrible business. I cant believe theyre still in business.

This AAMCO is so honest, College student with home very far away, i was have issues with my car, transmission so was told. But by my Dad said bring it to AAMCO. I did and I was surprised. No a $3000 fix but $100 dollars and I was on my way. The cable to the transmission thing was broken, simple fix. My Dad was ready to pay for a transmission but these guys were honest and both my Dad and I are so glad. GOOD JOB!!!

Ill start off with customer service, Rusty is great and was the reason I chose Aamco. Now Ill explain the rest of the experience. I left my vehicle with them for over 3 weeks for the original transmission rebuild. I picked up my truck and a week later had the transmission lose all its fluid and fail on me. Brought the truck back and had it repaired under warranty in about 2 weeks. Picked up the truck and had an indicator light flashing so I brought it back and had more work done under warranty. 2 days later I had to travel back to this AAMCO because the dust shield was left in the bed of my truck instead of being put back on. I picked the truck up and immediately noticed the truck having issues switching gears and going into reverse so I brought the truck back and rented a vehicle for 3 weeks. They couldnt find any problems after 3 weeks. Over all of the time I had the truck in their shop I was given the excuse that the technician/mechanic didnt show up to work at least 7-8 times. 3 months later I took the truck out of town for my wedding and the transmission failed, losing the fluid and leaving us stranded 400 miles from home. I had the truck towed to the Dallas AAMCO at my own expense. They had the truck for over a week before even looking into the problem, knowing I was from out of town and had to get to my honeymoon shortly after. I have incurred nearly $15,000 in rental and housing fees due to the original repair not being done correctly and being given excuses about the technicians not showing up to work which caused me to have to reschedule my honeymoon. I do not recommend this company to anyone. I feel scammed and abused by the great sales pitch I was given during the original call to set up the initial repair. The customer service by Rusty was the only positive experience, the quality of work by the technicians is possibly the worst Ive ever experienced. Buyer beware.

My experience with Mr. Rusty was exceptional. I went to his shop after getting quotes from two previous shops and as I suspected, they were overcharging and misdiagnosing my car issues. Mr. Rusty pin pointed my issue which was the thermostat replacement. One shop wanted to charge me $1600 for an a/c recharge, alternator replacement, motor and trans mounts and also suggested that i see a transmission specialist afterwards. The other shop quoted on the a/c part replacement and recharge, a code and suggested I have the transmission checked. I took both their advice and went to Mr. Rusty whom disproved them both. I was constantly calling and showing up and he continued to check out my car for any additional issues. He never made me feel like like a nuisance, calmly and thoroughly explained his diagnosis, process and cost. In additon, he has welcomed me to come back anytime with all my car concerns. MANY MANY THANKS TO MR. RUSTY.

Please do not take your vehicle here. I was charged over the agreed price to get my car back. The total price was only reached after I negotiated with the manager, Rusty. I honestly just want to spread the word that this place will rip you off. I decided to write my review on Yelp because I saw other student cars in the parking lot and felt sympathetic for them.Do not bring your vehicle here unless you wish to be scammed and have to negotiate the total of your bill. Please do not give business to people with such awful business practices.

Worst Customer Service Ever!!!!! I dropped my car off Tuesday February 20, 2018 and didnt get it back until Tuesday February 27, 2018... When I brought my car in it was for my air conditioner not blowing cold air, but picked my car up to air STILL not working plus my car would not shift out of 40 on the speedometer and my gear shift was clicking Everytime I put the car in reverse or park. My husband and I are furious at this point. They did a piss poor ass job and caused more issues to my car than it had before I took it to them. What I can say is Rusty communicate better with males versus females because he gave me the run around the whole week but my husband called one time and got more info in 20 minutes than I did in 6 days. This type of service is unacceptable. Then when they finished my car, they just rushed it out to me and didnt care to ensure everything was working or fixed..Again WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Now me and my husband have time pay for another rental out of pocket because Rusty failed at a service that was promised and paid for. But since he has my money he will I repeat he will CORRECT the issue with my car, or refund my money or we go to court with my attorney. I have never experienced poor service like this my entire life. What type failed to realize is that customer s cars are important and cant be taken apart and thrown back together. We ride our families around daily in our vehicles and poor repairs can cause accidents. But I guess they dont care long as they get the customers money. But I refuse to let them get away with the poor job they did on my nissan Maxima. If they didnt know how to fix it they should have told me and I could have taken it somewhere else...But now they have caused more issues than my car had before I took it to them and they will be held accountable for it. Based on the positive reviews I let them give me an estimate to fix the tail pipe on my husbands truck. I was shocked when Chet called me with the amount. The amount he told me was thousands less then Gerry Lanes estimate. He told me they would cut the end of the tail pipe off & put a new one on. I guess Gerry Lane wanted to replace the whole exhaust system under the truck. Needless to say I let the AAMCO guys fix it & save some money.

Rusty was and is a good SALESMAN, as for a transmission shop owner and manager, not so much. I brought my 2002 gmc sierra to them in June, the sunshell was stripped, they had it a couple weeks, and it was fixed. Great, I thought. I had it about a month. Then noticed I had a leak, but it wouldnt leave puddles, it was leaking while I drove. Then I lost 3rd and 4th gear coming home from work, i pulled ov, and had my vehicle towed to their shop. They kept it almost a month. The first time I called they told me their only transmission rebuilder broke his foot(or leg not MY problem though), then after that I was told different things broke and had to be ordered or replaced. When I went to pick my truck up I asked for a detailed report of what was done( so I can add that to my reports of everything that gets done to my vehicle), half of what I was told was on there. It was covered under warranty but they left the dust cover and a round plug off of the transmission, now water and dust and road gunk can get in. I do not give 3rd chances to anybody. The truck has been out of the shop a total of 2 months, and spent about a month and a half in their shop. Never again. They got me for $3,600. But, they will never see my truck again. My advice is bring your vehicles anywhere but here!!! Run dont walk away!!!! The truck is my only vehicle to get back and forth to work and to transport my 5 month old son to the doctors office whenever he needs to go, and they messed up this bad. And as far as the mud running goes, where I live at is down a state managed gravel road, between 2 cane fields. It was not mud it was gravel road dirt. And I do not give 3rd chances, they couldnt get it right the first 2 times, why would I give them a 3rd, my offer was to allow the other aamco in baton rouge, fix it, but because they are less than 40 miles apart, they wont honor the warranty. I have fought with the customer service, again nothing. An attorney will be contacted to get a refund, so i can bring my truck to any other shop and get it fixed, RIGHT.

I bought a used 2010 Chevrolet Malibu in November. In December the transmission went out. With no coooeration from the used car dealership(worst ever). I called Mr. Rusty at Aamco before business hours. He helped me tremendously. I brought my car in. He explained about the test that would be done. He informed me latet what was wrong and quoted me a price. The work was done. There were other issues that arose and Mr. Rusty covered those cost. Very honest. I am so pleased with my service here. Worst place Ive ever taken my car to. I am a flood victim that brought my flooded car here to get an estimate for fema. Rusty calls me and tells me my estimate is finished and ready to be picked up. I picked it up and he told me as soon as I am ready to tow my car to call him. I called him 4 days after I got my fema money and was able to replace my car. He then tells me oh well I had it towed. No notice or anything. My experience was very unprofessional and complicated. These people are clearly unsure how to run their business bc one day they can call me and the next they say they cannot. No voice mails. No phone calls. Nothing. They just towed my car and went on w their day.

I wouldnt even give this place a star, but I had to, to post this review. This is by far the WORST transmission shop and customer service I have ever experienced. Rusty Roux is the worst owner I have ever met. They just give you the run around. No one knows what is really going on they just tell you what they want you to hear. Still waiting for my car to be fixed after having to bring it back after a month of it being in the shop and spending $$$$.$$ and it still not being right. The whole shop just needs to be shut down. Overcharged and very very pissed.

This is the number one place to go with transmission problems I have a 2007 S550 and I was having transmission problems a man told me At another shop it was gonna be $2000 to fix I needed a valve body I took my car to aamco people they checked it for free reset my computer and called me and told me wasn’t nothing wrong with my car big up to those people
