This place is GREAT! Joe is the best!We were on a cross country trip when our van broke down.We got at the shop right at closing time and Joe was so great getting us in, finding the problem, ordering the part, and having us on our way as soon as the part got there! Never been to a mechanic as great as these guy!

My A/C compressor bearing went out while I was in Bardstown from 2 1/2 hrs away. Joe and his crew were awesome. They got my truck in and found the parts to fix it today. I was fully expecting to have to leave my truck and rent a car to get home. If I lived in Bardstown theyd definitely be my goto shop.

After a short research I called to receive a quote for oil change, radiator flush, and new thermostat. Price given seemed fair and set appointment. However my schedule opened and I called to move up the date. With no hesitation a new time was set for the next morning. My vehicle was then taken soon as arrived. Then completed in under two hours. Joe made me feel welcome and valued. The best part of the service came when it was time to pay. The price for all service rendered came in 50$ under quote. Waited 2 and a half months for a part which was previously ordered indirectly twice and when smoother repair shop wanted numbers from the parted he didnt them he grad to go look and explained that he didnt know why they would want those numbers. Well maybe thats why you kept ordering the incorrect part because you did in fact have to have those numbers according to the Nissan dealer...😶And we wont even talk about your initial diagnosis where you charged me 500 to fix an axle and 2 weeks later the entire differential went out..hmm

Joe and his team are courteous and quick. He deals honestly and fairly. I have a Mercedes and many mechanics in the area will not work on it, but A1A is capable and happy to take care of you. I have already recommended A1A to several friends and family!

The owner was super helpful when my BMW battery started going bad. Another parts shop had sold me a battery and when I went to have A1A install they said it was the wrong one and he ordered a new one and had it installed in less than an hour. The owner and mechanic were courteous and I the price was very fair! I would highly recommend them for work done to your vehicles. A+!

I was simply trying to schedule a time to get my car dropped off, and I was asking a simple question about timing and cost. As I’m in the middle of my sentence, I get hung up on. I call back and am asking why, and I get insulted and hung up on. Easily the worst customer service in the state!!!!!! Would rather bear crawl my way around town than give this awful place my business.

I highly recommend Joe! He is honest and does not charge an arm and a leg. He worked on my sons car. Within that same week he saw a car that looked like my sons on the back of a tow truck. He stopped the tow truck to make sure it wasnt my sons car. If that doesnt show you he cares nothing will.

Joe is my hero. My experience with another mechanic left me with a new engine that did not work properly. After 1 visit to A1A auto, its not only running but fires right up and operates as it was intended. I only wish I had discovered this shop sooner. Joe is efficient and refreshingly honest. Hes the real deal, a great mechanic and an asset to any vehicle owner.

Had my car towed in late in the day, early the next morning I had received pictures and estimate on cost of repairs. The repair was made quickly and at what I feel was a very fair price. Would 100% recommend Joe to a friend and will go back in the future.

Just wow. Joe came to my rescue as I was traveling through town, I needed last minute help with a misfiring engine to get home and he said Come right on over. I had an idea of what we needed, so he ordered the part right then, diagnosed it when I arrived and had me back on the road in under 30 minutes with an extraordinarily fair price considering the on call nature of the situation. Awesome, funny guy who I enjoyed conversing with as much as I enjoyed the efficient and flawless service. I may well drive an hour to Bardstown just to have him work on my car in the future! You will not be disappointed!

Cannot believe nobody has reviewed this place. The owner Joe is honest to a fault. You will never see him try to upsell and you wont ever have to worry about wringing out honest service. He is always upfront about what needs to be done and on more than one occasion he talked me out of doing unnecessary repairs on my car. He always does a great job servicing my car, and I am so glad to have an honest mechanic in the area which is a rarity these days.

Im new to Bardstown and my vehicle was needing to be jumped almost every day...we bought a new battery from AAA and still needed assistance almost daily. A girl working at AutoZone told me the alternator could be bad so I asked for someplace that I could have it tested and be dealt with honestly...I was sent to Michaels tires and got taken for an $80 test and a $400 new alternator only to have to get a jump the very next day. Joe at A1 Automotive was recommended to me by the AAA driver and the guy at uhaul so I called him and he took my car and tested everything determining that the battery was bad...the new battery...he had AAA meet me there and got my battery replaced at no charge. Then he wouldnt even let me pay him anything for his time. Joe and A1 will be the only place I take any of my vehicles to as long as I live here. And I will tell everyone I can about the honest friendly way I was treated by Joe and employees.

We were passing through town on a Christmas trip to Pennsylvania and our van started hesitating and the engine light came on. We had to stop and get a hotel and in the morning we called A1A auto repair. Our experience was fantastic! Joe took us in as his 1st customer in the morning and was finished in 2 hours. He found the problem and repaired it and gave us an excellent price along with excellent service. We were able to get on the road back on our trip before noon. If you are ever stuck near Bardstown check out A1A Automotive because theyre the best! He even took my husband back-and-forth to the hotel so he didnt have to wait in the shop.
