I shop here often although the prices have noticeably increased - especially on meat- like all the stores have so much that I have been changing up on items I always bought just because of price. However, they have fresh produce, a really nice helpful young produce man, and a good variety of items throughout the store. The lines get long but move quickly. They seem to restock fairly quickly as well. Overall, its my go to grocery store. Others I just use for certain things or special sales. As a regular- I stick with Safeway.

I loved this location everyone was so friendly, from the security and all staff you came in contact with. They answered your questions provided you with assistance, especially being a senior, I observed a young lady assisting a gentleman playing the lottery, she went over and beyond to help him understand. This is the place you would want to visit for all your grocery needs and other purchases. Hats off to all the staff keep up the good work.😎😎🙂

The meats and food all too much the prices is unbelievable I used to love to shop there

I just got bumped from three different lines for checkout. I cannot use the self checkout for reasons … I am just not permitted to fit this order. I am on a clock for this. Sending people on breaks all at once is not good.

Well-stocked, easy to access from Charles St., and theres usually no line at the Starbucks!

I really appreciate the recent remodel of the store and it really makes it a nicer experience. But this store hardly has enough registers open so lines can get really long with people arguing about spaces. If you go in the morning, their donuts are fresh and delicious. My main concern is that Im constantly badgered for money by people hanging out in the parking lot. Twice in the last month, the person I was unable to help reacted poorly. Im always polite and express my condolences because I dont carry cash and Im in the middle of trying to load my car. But today, a man became very upset that I wouldnt accept his help loading his groceries because I knew I didnt have any cash to tip him and someone else had to intervene. I go to this store because this neighborhood and the surrounding ones dont have other options. Its a good store, but I hate that parking lot.

Staff Helped me during my visit, Great customer service. Now on to self check out an the register next to it. That area is so small carts not being able to get pass due to no room to do so. Then the person being checked out at the register not being able to move with ease either. Everyone is just so close in that area. It was just uncomfortable.

Customer service is a minus -2 @best. They always claim the Western Union Money transfer system is down! This is all the time. Very impolite associates that look to argue with customers rather than help them. If they cant provide the services they advertise than why have the service? Please help correct this matter as its not very convenient to seek western union services and then be turned away 99% of the time making the store most difficult to patronize.. Please take the proper steps to correct this issue. Sincerely... Valued Customer.

The young lady who makes my shrimp salad during the week is the nicest and most polite person in the store. She always smiles and has great conversation!

Like so often you never hear about the good experience only the bad. I visited the store back in June, 2021 wanted to purchase shrimp for a party. I approached the seafood counter where I encountered Ms. Nikki...OMG...I have never experienced the level of Customer Service that she displayed. I just wanted to let everyone know she is the best. I tried to give her a tip (for steaming my shrimp) but she informed me that because of the stores policy she could not except it...she truly deserved it.

Remodeled store is a lot better than the older one. I was greeted by friendly staff when I first entered their establishment. Cashiers and gentlemen in the the deli department were respectful, nice, informational,easy on the eye and helped me in a timely manner. I will be returning due to the good service.

I absolutely love the store. The staff is amazing. However, the restroom was awful. There was fececes all over the handicap bathroom stall. The second bathroom located in the pharmacy was broken. I can not believe that the staff and public have to use that restroom.

I dont ever have an issue here only thing the cutie at the front tricked me into using the self checkout but I cant complain store is full of friendly staff even when they not too happy with each other they treat the customer great plus a clean no bad seafood smell AND! they had the new simply almond milk Ive been looking all over for and gave me a deal 3 for $10 so all in all a good trip

Well-stocked and staffed on a holiday weekend. Had what I needed and there were plenty of open registers and self-checkout options.

Nice store, plenty of options, and nice people running the place.

Went to get a few things. Was greeted when I entered. Lots of fresh produce. The flowers always look great. Waited a few minutes at the customer service counter, the sales person was pleasant. The aisles were clear, easy to navigate; I bought more than I had planned (a sale I could not walk away from), but within my budget. I did not wait too long for check out. The cashier was pleasant also.

I enjoy shopping at Safeway Food Market for food, prescription, and their beautiful flowers.

Me and my friend went to this store today. We are environmentalist and so we don’t drive or use bags because of plastic. Their Wolfe security officers followed us around the store and stated to my friend he would not be paying for his items because he could not afford them BEFORE we got to the register. What store does this? This store not only racially profiles people but judges people based on the materials they are wearing. Why are we not allowed to wear book bags? Why can we not care about our environment? This store is what’s wrong with Baltimore. You cannot always judge a book by its cover. I work TWO jobs! 27.00 is nothing compared to what I usually pay for groceries. Hire some secret shoppers so you can really find the thieves but don’t play with my pockets!

I hardly leave reviews but felt compelled to write this one.I walked into the store today between 530-7pm there were 3 people standing outside 2 were workers one dark-skinned man and a brown-skinned tall heavy set woman. When i walked pass them the lady stated ummm let me see where security is then proceeded to call security to the front over the intercom. When i got to the self check line the heavy set lady spoke to the other worker there and when i needed help she knew exactly what were in my bags i.e monitoring what i scan. I need to feel comfortable where i shop. I do too much for the community to be treated like that. I will NOT return to that store. Especially when there is a giant right up the street that will treat you with dignity. Word of advice.... if you want to see if someone is stealing..... have security in the back, watch the camera(like he suppose to) and bust the thief. I was completely disrespected. If you want to be met/ greeted with disrespect like your trash. Please shop here if not... Go to giants on 33rd st.

Its was nice I went in I was out with and a minute ok thats was great.

Employees close store when they feel like it. Arrived at store at 9:50 and theyd already locked doors. One lady inside had to go search for someone to let her out and it took a while, so they must have locked them well before that. Excuse given was that the employees wanted to go home. If store isnt open until 10pm then dont post hours as open until 10pm so people dont show up thinking youre still open.

I have never have seen a grocery store have so many things expired. The first couple of times I blamed myself for it being the candy in the aisles. But after about the 5-6 times I just realized that they don’t really FIFO. At first we use to grocery shop there all at once but now we only go if we really have too. But today it got to the point that we will not be coming back. I have worked in all types of customer service/food industries and have never seen so much expired food/drinks. They never have enough registers opened and sometimes even all the self check outs are closed. I have seen several people walk out due to that. The employees have always been polite but I don’t believe they are running the store to their full capability. It’s sad to say that we won’t be coming here again even though it is the closest grocery store.

The Pick 3 Mix or Match watermelon selection is horrible. You can tell the watermelon has been frozen and they include chunks of watermelon rined instead of all watermelon. With this being the season for watermelon, it is funny that the melon in the fruit bowls have a tart taste to them.

I love safe way food is always fresh & i love my just for me savings.

There is no good value for money at this supermarket. They cant seem to figure out that customers may need a basket for their groceries...you consistently end up having to walk around to find one.

Havent been to this Safeway since I left Baltimore 7 years ago. Walked in and saw new changes and I love it. Safeway at this location is my second favorite to the one in DC on 5th Street, NW. Reminiscent of the good times here. Will be returning back.

I went to the store around 6pm. The store was crowded with few cashiers

They never have any shopping carts at this location. They have gotten better with having enough checkout lanes open. Overall not bad but I feel that the Harford Rd location is better.

I like this store - staff very friendly & always enough checkers. It is somewhat more expensive for a lot of items than the Giant in a more affluent neighborhood. I feel sorry for the inner city folks.

This Safeway is clean, fresh with well stocked produce, and a wide section of products to choose from. This store is very well lite and organized. The staff is generally friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable of their products and store selections. The Customer Service counter is very friendly but, is oftentimes closed. The self checkout as well as the general cashier lines can be extremely long. To avoid the long lines I found going between 6 am and 12:00 noon you get in and out with ease.

I love this Safeway! The staff is ALWAYS polite and they always have stocked cabinets. I never have trouble finding exactly what I need. Also, the pharmacist in the back is superrr helpful with getting the cost of medication reduced! So many ppl complain, I just want to shed some light and compliment a great job well done also! Charles Village Safeway, you all are amazing!

This Safeway is great! The employees are friendly and helpful. They usually have everything I need (sometimes are out of special type of creamer I like but it’s to be expected!) Every time I cash out and have shannon, she is such a delight. Also, rosemary at the Starbucks is so sweet. I will always be coming here for my shopping needs

Great selection of food choices for picky eaters. Their “one dollar a bag” sale for fresh produce is a steal. Make sure you download their in store app that offers additional coupon savings. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. A bit pricey on some items but very reasonable on others.

Got there to pick up WU, there was no body at the customer service counter saw a sign hanging walked around and talk to the lady staff at self checkout, she said she will be there at customer service after 15 min, she walked to the service counter and then came out, I asked her if she can help me she said i an going on break, WHAAAT, I was waiting for you to help me out it was only 2 minutes job. I yelled whats goin on who is the customer service counter and the Store Director (Mr. Charles) did not live my voice and asked me to leave the store, and I left. (waisted my time I was a weekly customer too for grocery but not any MORE)

Its a great place for almost anything you want,I shop here and last week got a Covid vaccine at the pharmacy.It was a good experience and I shop here often,its a great place to shop.

I love it its the best quality fresh food and also anything you need or get out of it. I go out my way to shop at Safeway. Keep up the great business. All the people that works there and shop there as well are very polite.

The selection is good. But this store will never -- ever -- open an additional register, no matter how long the lines get. The lines can be halfway to the back of the store and there will be only one cashier and two self-checkouts open. Just plan on 10 minutes of shopping and 30 minutes of waiting in line.

This Safeway has terrible customer service in the online order area. My bags weren’t double heavy products placed in bags and the women running that area has zero communication skills fix it

Safeway was clean, Neat and clean store. It was well organized and had a wide variety of choices of products and other products. I really enjoy shopping at this location. The employees are pleasant and friendly. Great products and reasonable prices with a lot of values on many items.

Very clean. The cashier was so sweet! My kid was like mommy we have to go back that lady was so nice lol we will be back.

Often no carts are available. Often no carry-baskets are available. Often price signs are missing. Often sale items are out of stock. Very often free items won by Monopoly or promotions are not even carried by the store. Lines at registers are VERY long, always. Not enough registers are open, most are closed. Bought a fresh piece of salmon, it was old and stinky. Horrible store.

Great prices on chicken Mondays! Best to put it in air fryer to cook a little more!

I used it for western union. Used it yesterday it was fine. Then today the women who is behind the desk moseys her way up there to tell me western union has been down. So she lied cus shes lazy. I had to walk 2 extra miles to get to giant. I can honestly say no bias Giant is the place to go all together better customer service better prices and faster service.

I always have a nice shopping experience here at safeway except when i can never seem to catch them when they have Maryland crabmeat!!!!

I picked up some groceries (the store was well stocked, I found everything I needed). Then I picked up some FedEx packages being held at the customer service desk. The customer service desk was staffed by Shine, who really made my day! She was so friendly and helpful, I left the store smiling! I did not think that picking up FedEx packages would be a pleasant or convenient experience, but she proved me wrong. Thank you Safeway!

I was fairly impressed with one of the courtesy clerks there she was very good at what she did and I was a courtesy clerk for twenty one of my 26 years of grocery store work I even pointed her out to the manager and praise her workmanship tread for remembering names so I probably wont remember the young ladys name

Once a month I pick up medicine from Safeway and do a little shopping its a nice store you should go try and visit it.

Dirty with lines always backed up down the aisles no matter what time of day or evening, high prices for food that expires quickly. Daytime checkers super slow, mice running through Starbucks on a few occasions. Still would like to know why 9 Times out of 10 there is some sort of emergency vehicle out front (fire truck, ambulance...) I could go on...
