Visited Race Pace in Fed Hill looking for a bike. I am very new to the hobby. I wasnt sure exactly what I was looking for in a bike.The gentleman I spoke was very snobby when I tried explaining my needs for a bike. I left feeling pretty discouraged.You think those who been biking for a while would want more people in the hobby. Instead of looking down on new folks.I had a way better experience with the Race Pace in Columbia. The staff were very knowledgeable and courteous.

This bike shop is by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and the people running the repair shop who worked on my bike are second to none. I found my current bike after it had been thrown out by someone years ago, needing repairs, they addressed each issue and this once old bike feels brand new! Shout out to Lisa for fixing my bike!!!

They were really helpful and nice. They answered all our questions, gave good advice, and let us do a little test ride before we decided on a bike. They also helped us with installing a bike rack on our vehicle, which was great. Id recommend them to anyone getting a bike or accessories (of which they had a wide selection) in the area!

Had my bike serviced as a walk-in and was charged $40 for a brake adjustment that took the technician no more than 5 minutes to fix. I was fully expecting to pay for the service but $40 for a brake adjustment on a bike is a bit ridiculous. I pay less for an oil change for my car. I was told about the charge after the service was done, too. Would have appreciated more transparency upfront.

Nice, big, brightly lit store with lots of bikes. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The process of ordering a bike online and picking up in store was very easy, and the bike was ready in a very short amount of time. Parking is curbside or around the corner in a lot. Really a good experience - highly recommend.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience buying a bike here. I ordered a bike over the phone with the Federal Hill store and ordered it with a back rack. On Thursday at 6.22pm they left a voicemail saying that my bike was ready for pickup. The next day (Friday) just after 11am I get to the store to pick up my bike BUT it is still on the mechanics stand and hasnt been fully assembled yet. A store associate tells me that they are still waiting on the back rack to come in and that they are expecting it later in the day. Upset that they lied about the bike being ready for pickup, I waited for a few minutes for them to finish building the bike and then rode off with the bike, telling them I would pick up the back rack later.Later that day I get a phone call saying the rack is ready for pickup and so I go back to the store (AGAIN) and pick up the rack. When I get home to install the back rack I notice that they ordered the wrong part and that the back rack they sold me doesnt fit my bike.At this point I call back and talk to Juan who confirms that the rack is not designed for my bike but insists that they can make it fit. I tell him that Ive come in twice already to the store and I still dont have the correct back rack. They should have told me it wouldnt fit my bike but they didnt care.I call the store back 2 times (once on Monday and again on Tuesday) and I speak to Antonio and Juan and ask them to talk to their supervisors about the situation. I came back to the store again on Tuesday and I returned the back rack for a refund. All I got for my troubles was a half hearted apology and NOTHING ELSE! Visiting this store is a 45 minute round trip and they didnt make it worth my while.I do not recommend this place and if you are looking for a bike shop look elsewhere because this business only cares about your money and nothing else. I published this review on Yelp as well because I want to make it absolutely clear that this is not a place you want to spend your hard earned money at!TL;DR: They lied to me twice and made me come back to the store 3 times just to get a refund for a product that didnt fit my bike. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Edit: Too little, too late. The owner responded to my review and offered to install the correct back rack free of charge but this is just a PR stunt (they havent reached out to me over phone or email). They had 5 days and 5 opportunities to fix my problem but they failed each time. I have been very patient (given the circumstances) and gave them a 2nd and even 3rd chance to fix it. Im not going them a 4th chance.

I just bought a bike here. This was my first bike in about 25 years. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They installed all of the accessories i bought for free. I definitely recommend this store.

I just moved to the city and needed to tune up 2 bikes (2007 Schwinn and 1972 Peugeot).I had to make an appt for 2 weeks out due to COVID causing high-demand for bike repairs, but RacePace was able to provide safety checks for both bikes and then gave me an estimate of all the work that would be needed for a full tune-up.Clear repair recommendations, fair prices on an itemized receipt, and staff with the expertise for the jobs. Considering I will be in the city for at least the next 4 years, I plan to return here with my business every time. Thank you to Alec, Nik, and Mark who helped the whole repair process — 10/10 job and a very happy customer who recommends this place to everyone!

A really special group of people here. Everyone is very knowledgeable about their craft and it shows. I had great experiences through the sales process with Lars and Dave, and then in service with Lisa.They did make a small mistake when cutting a tube to size the bike for me, but have made every possible effort to right the mistake by me, even as far as Lisa offering to cover it out of her own pocket! I think this really shows what kind of business is being run here and what type of people work at Race Pace. I would absolutely shop here again and I cant recommend this store enough to someone searching for a good local bike shop.

Great bike shop in South Baltimore with super friendly staff ready to help (and theyre not commission-based). It doesnt matter whether you ride roads, mountains, or trails or if youre a novice or someone with thousands of hours under your belt, this shop will probably have what youre looking for. A good selection of bikes (although they dont carry Giant) and bicycle accessories for great prices.

I went there to find out if they could fix my pedal. And I left with a wealth of knowledge. The staff was amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful. I never felt like they were trying to sell to me. I felt like I was just talking bikes with some friends.

New guy didnt have a clue what he was doing. Huge difference then previous shopping trips to Race Pace. I got spin shoes at Pace a year ago and found the store was happy to answer any question and let me try on shoes (and use them on a stationary bike) This last shopping trip, I was buying shoes for my girlfriend, I felt like I had to flag down a staff member to get help (after being in the almost empty store for 15 minutes) and once I did, all he did was give us the first shoe we looked at and rushed us out. I can get that type of service online. I want to support Race Pace but please maintain the service you are know for.

As a complete urban cycling newbie, they helped me pick out a solid all-purpose bike and get it tuned up just right. Prices were reasonable and the service was outstanding. My bike is still going strong, so I tell anyone looking for bikes in the city to check here first.

I am a single father with three boys. Now I am raising my last, 15 years old. We found race Pace three years ago and have gone nowhere else but there for bicycle parts and advice! The guys will go out of their way and help you with small items for free. Adjusting brakes or looking at your bike to improve your ride. We really enjoyed our visit to this bike shop yesterday. We were helped immediately and offered again. And when they realized they didnt have what I needed, they offered the other locations and tried to find options. We just happen to be from out of town so the other options werent really options. Great service!I’ve been here over the past few years to have my roadbike fit to me and then again when the manager spent ample time teaching me how to clip in/out once I got clip in pedals, but most recently I was there twice in the past month to have my jogging stroller wheel replaced. The first time the technician spent extra time with me teaching me how to do it myself but I decided to come back since the same wheel was deflated shortly after having it replaced for the first time in almost 2 years.. the technician was great helping me again and suggested replacing the outer tire rather than just the tube this time and got me sorted out all in under 10 minutes. We don’t live a few blocks away anymore, but I’ll still be traveling up this way if I have any other bike or stroller needs because the service is great!

Ive gone to other bike shops in Richmond, VA, where my children live, but I will always buy from here. The service is the best. I havent been on a bike for over 20 yrs, now I will buy one. Im new to Bmore and have been window shopping for a few days, trying to find a new bike to replace my stolen one. I usually hate going into bike shops because Im pretty ignorant about bikes. Also, I hate pretentious bike store employees that get their jollies every time I ask a question. This place was not your archetypal bike store.The staff was patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. The selection was huge (so much more than any other store Id been in, in the city) and I wasnt once belittled for my lack of industry knowledge. Also, I love my new bike! This will be my go-to place from here on out.

Pump broke during a Ft McHenry outing, Popped in for a quick purchase and the sales person suggested the cheapest one on the rack, which did the trick, as suggested. I appreciate customer service that listens to the customer instead of trying to upsell. The store looked amazing. Wish I had more time to browse, but i had to get back to my stranded family.

Ive bought bikes in six states now and this is easily the best shop to which I have ever been. Employees were friendly, patient, knowledgable, helpful, thorough, down to earth, and totally went the extra mile in terms of giving advice without pressure or upsell. Selection was terrific and prices plenty fair. Antonio was my salesperson and he was amazing (even installed my new car rack and showed me some tricks for speed and ease). Al did some installation and customization, Laura helped me with my trade for my old bike, Ben and the other guys were also helpful and funny. Race Pace Key Hwy has all of my bike business going forward. They just do it all right. Oh, and they nail branding and loyalty with a free pint glass, free rewards program, and free year of tune-ups with purchase of a new bike. Businesses: take a lesson from Race Pace, this is how you make and keep customers.

Hands down the largest and best bike store I have been to. Race Pace (Federal Hill) has the largest selection of bikes especially in Trek that I have seen. The sales people /technicians are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable of the products. Best overall experience than the main competitors in Baltimore County and Harford County (where I live). Race Pace is def worth the drive if you are looking for quality staff and products.Went yesterday I bought a 2013 Trek DS 8.2 from Race Pace and place was packed and there were no issues of service.

I was doing some research on where to go to get new tires on my bike, mainly in the Baltimore County area where I live. However, many of the bike shops in Lutherville-Timonium area had a lot of bad reviews about the attitudes of employees doing part work on your bike if you didnt buy your bike from them. Then I came across reviews for Race Pace, which had great reviews and decided to take my bike down to Fed Hill instead of staying near where I live. Service was great, employees were super helpful and knowledgeable. I got new tires for my bike put on within half an hour, no hassle. Glad I decided to go a little further and patronize this business. A+
