Ever since Dr. Hwang left it has gone down hill. My son paid cash for his exam but was later billed again and said his credit card didnt go through. He got a pair of glasses right when covid started and they didnt take one of the measurements so they are hard to see out of but since he waited too long( Covid) they cant fix them. I just showed up for an appointment. and they said I already used my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket when my insurance company said I could still get the contact fitting thru them. They didnt even bother to call and tell me this they waited until I showed up. Definitely cheaper to go through Costco. I thought I was getting a deal using my insurance but not so much. You could get a membership and pay out of pocket and Its still cheaper thanTargets prices. Very dissatisfied will not return!!!!! I wouldnt even give them a star but you cant post without one

The service was fine. The cost was excessive. With my Anthem insurance, final cast was $ 325.00 Last year at Costco, without insurance, same lense features and frame, my cost was $220.

I just left my first appointment at this location a few hours ago. Dr. Verlich was so sweet and took plenty of time with me to address my concerns. Dawn and the other representative were incredibly helpful and patient. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and the obstacles COVID has thrown everyone didn’t impact the quality of service they provided. Every patient who showed up was quickly greeted and treated like they were important. I had a 30+ minute drive to this location but it was well worth it! I will be back every year for my exams.

Very rude and horrible experience with the receptionist tonight. Very upset. I will NOT be returning to this target for anything. Glasses or otherwise. Ill gladly drive 15 to 20 more minutes for better service elsewhere. Clearly Target has done nothing to address the issue with the employee. Others have reviewed and seems to have had the same experience months ago.

I went on 10/16/20 at 10:15AM and the woman working is extremely rude and unhelpful and refused to fill my script from Walmart because I requested a different contact brand. Never in my life has someone told me I need a brand new script for a different brand and I have been ordering contacts for years. Don’t waste your time here. Also their cheapest glasses are $150 with lenses and you can get the same quality online for $20.

The visit I had with Dr. Verlich was great. The receptionist was very rude and I did not feel welcomed. This was my first visit at Target Optical. I gladly took my script and went else where to find glasses.

I wish I could give zero stars. Let me preface that we were patients/customers of Target Optical for about ten years. We used them exclusively for the longest time. We took our children to them once they hit 2/3 and could sit through an exam. Dr. John Hwang was fantastic, literally nothing but good things. The first red flag was when we asked for our pupillary distance because we needed new contacts and glasses and were going to use a cheaper online company for the glasses. “We aren’t allowed to give you that information” they said. We were ignorant to our rights and accepted it. When we took our oldest son and he needed glasses, I asked the doctor in the exam room if he could tell us that because the workers wouldn’t. We wanted a back up pair of glasses (so we were still buying some from Target Optical, but couldn’t shell out an extra $300 for a back up kid pair) we told him; “Those are your medical records. They can’t refuse you that information” is what the doctor stated. From then on he would give us out pupillary distance measurements to bypass them all together. The next red flag was them cancelling our appointments, all four, because we didn’t call them back to confirm. This was true, but I confirmed it online via the reminder email the same day they called. Anyone who has called them knows waiting on hold for forever is not uncommon. A confirmation is a confirmation, or so I thought. Next red flag was being told we had to wait an hour to just pick up our son’s glasses because they had to do a contact fitting. Mind you the people getting the fitting were still shopping for frames. We asked just to pick them up and were told no because they would have to fit them. Dr. Hwang came out of an appointment and said hello to us, asked us how we were doing. We told him great just getting his glasses. He asked the lady and she told him what she told us. He was surprised and went ahead and got them for us himself. I know we are deep into red but we are not done yet. The next one was being over billed, which again in hindsight this probably happened before we just didn’t catch it. I specifically picked a frame out under the insurance allowance and the most basic lenses. It should have just been the scratch and glare we had to pay, as well as taxes. My husband finished up the transaction so I didn’t know the final total. I go to pull the receipt (couldn’t remember when we ordered them and how long it would take to get them) and I see the total and it doesn’t add up. Long story short, we over paid by $120ish and had to jump through hoops for a refund. The final straw was when we went for our last exam. I was put in the wrong size contacts and when I went back to explain that we found out the doctor has left and I would need to get a whole exam again. But I just paid for one with a fitting and my insurance was billed - yea too bad so sad. I was left with no prescription, ill fitting contacts, and no options but to pay MORE money. I went to Target Corporate and after a few weeks they relented and gave me an update of my old prescription that was too weak but at least I could order contacts. Cut to August 2020: we are with a new doctor and just wanted our records. Let sleeping dogs lie and move on. Target Optical in response to all five of our requests for our records: 1) we aren’t allowed to give them to you, 2) just have your new doctor fax us a request (8/19/20), 3) just have your new doctor fax us a request (10/5/2020), 4) we will have them ready in a few days as it is our busiest time right now (12/2020), and 5) we don’t have your records. My oldest has fast progressing myopia and an extensive record that now, apparently, is lost forever. So yea, like I said zero stars. Oh, and yes they are rude too. Also, so the employee who has to watch for these and send out a canned response, don’t bother. I’ve already filed a complaint with the BBB and HIPAA. * (I apologize for any grammar and/or spelling errors, it’s hard to type coherently when you just wasted another hour of your time dealing with Target Optical and are seeing red) *

I came in for an appointment and had to wait an hour to see the doctor. Then I was not given a copy of my prescription, which I didn’t realize until I got home and tried to order glasses online. I tried calling multiple times over a week, each time getting a message that the number had been disconnected. I finally returned in person to get a copy of my prescription and had to wait another hour and a half to get it because the doctor wasn’t in. The company I ordered my glasses from was also unable to reach the office by phone.

I have been going to Target optical for 14 years. Dr. Hwang is phenomenal. He is really down to earth and understands insurance providers and his clients. He gets you in and out of your appointment fast and has always been on time. No waiting around. Dr. Hwang is very straight forward and honest with you from the start and really makes you feel comfortable about the whole process. Highly recommend Dr.Hwang and his staff i have never had a bad experience.

While the Doctor is EXCELLENT, the staff were rude and condescending every time I have been there. I no longer will purchase glasses there and I have even thought of changing Doctors due to the lack of manners and professionalism on the part of the staff, which is a shame because while it is no reflection on the Doctor, I must deal with them in order to see him.I have given them ample opportunity to prove me wrong. I asked them to have the doctor call me the last time I was in because of the way they had handled things...never got a call back. Sure the message was never delivered.

Horrible customer service!!! DO NOT GET YOUR GLASSES THERE!!! Saundra and Lisa could care less about your experience at Target optical, rather they go shop and bring target products to the optical as my daughter and I waited for 10 mnts with no one to take care of us!!!!! Very rude and felt disrespected as an individual.
