Before I saw Bill, I honestly thought there was something wrong with me. I thought I would never be able to run more than a mile without getting heel and arch pain. My friend, who runs marathons, sent me to him. Bill analyzed the wear in my shoes, had me walk and run around the store and outside a few times, and palpated my feet. He figured out that I was avoiding using my toes when I ran. Now, after wearing his custom orthotics in my running shoes (selected by him at my request) and slowly ramping up usage per his instructions, I run about 2 miles every day with zero pain. I have run as far as 8.7 miles with no trouble, and in February I plan to run a half-marathon for the first time. I never thought I’d get to this point in less than a year. Running is finally the pleasure I always hoped it would be.

I have a condition called Charcot foot which causes changes in the bone structure and shape of the feet. As a result, I cannot wear shoes without a specially-designed orthotic insert that exactly conforms to my feet. I received such an orthotic from Bill Stone a number of months ago, and it is perfect in preventing dangerous blisters, comfort, and durability. Mr. Stones expertise and attention to detail were reassuring. He was caring and friendly and explained things well in the unrushed initial and final appointments.
