Just a unique, cool place. Good to see a place like it running. I went in for eurorack modules but didn’t quite find what I was looking for. They did have a couple of cool powered cases I was tempted by. Chatted with the owner a while, nice guy, and bought a 4-track recorder. Thanks for the visit friends!

Simply the only place I would take my vintage gear for repairs and mods. Great work, and John and company are wonderful folks.

Great place with some awesome synths and electric pianos. Has a lot of vintage keyboards that sound great and are in great shape.

Great selection of old and new. Informed and educated staff, also very helpful and friendly. Even if you don’t know what you’re looking for, just coming here to look is entertaining in itself. It’s definitely a playground for a musician or a curious non-musician.

The guys working here are very friendly and cool about letting you play whatever you find. There isn’t a huge amount of stuff in store, but it’s a very fun place to go and try things out. I definitely would have bought the Wurlitzer they had if I didn’t live in London :(

Great spot and great folks. Worked on a bunch of vintage stuff I have, including a Model D and Tr606. Awesome customer service and just a cool friendly vibe. Ive probably spent more time geeking out with the staff than I have demoing gear, and they have amazing gear.

Very helpful staff - one of my favorite places to just pop in and see whats in the shop. I also had a great experience with their equipment repair, they fixed an old amp for me that Ive been using since I was in high school and its never sounded better - hope I can get another 15 years out of it!

Really poor online service. Sold me a product and then they decided they wanted to keep it as a display instead. Rude communication and lack of any attempt to make anything right. Have read a lot of reviews about the owner being rude so Id stay away.

Oh my goodness! I was blown away when I laid my hands on the most amazing electronic keyboard there. I was literally given free rein to play any of the instruments that were plugged in; and let me tell you, it was LOVE at first play. I havent played a piano in years so I am very rusty, but my gracious, I fell right back into it. Thankfully the clerk informed me about the headphones so the rest of the store was spared the cacophony that this particular keyboard no doubt emitted (I am sure about that). On my end, though I was able to produce sweet sweet music on this instrument. I am going to ask Santa to bring me a keyboard!

Austin - already known for it unique niche markets and boutiques. If your a musician, this is one that you have to visit. And, its not just a known spot by Austinites, if you hang around this spot long enough, youll catch the occasional touring artist coming through to visit cause they know whats up! This place you can play that vintage $4000 Moog that youll never own, or chat with the staff about what should be your next synth purchase. If you consider yourself a musician and come to Austin, i repeat...you need to visit here

Staff is very zolo! They do repairs as well as sell the best electronic gear in town! Although this place is dangerous for my wallet it is stupendous for my musical heart. I recommend a pocket piano for on the go or the theremin if you can afford.

Switched On is a wonderful place to shop for synthesizers both vintage and new, along with eurorack modules. Chad and Davin were very helpful to me when I was first getting into eurorack and made several great suggestions for modules that I use on a daily basis!Great service, great gear, it’s a great local shop that is also the nexus of the Austin modular scene!

I just left after visiting for the first time. I traded some Eurorack modules and some old gear (sp505). The store is small but set up very nicely to demo synths and Eurorack. The guys (John and Davin) knew their stuff and were great to talk to. Im now making this a required place to visit when in Austin.

Aye yai yai. Brought a Pro One and a Jupiter 6 in for repair... Requested to be contacted if the repairs were going to go over two hours on both items. they went ahead, without a heads up, and did something like fifteen hours of labor on the synths combined. Cost me loads of cash, over $1,200. Not even sure i believe these repairs could have taken that long. Somewhere around five hours for bushings and wired it for some feedback loop that didnt exist and wasnt discussed. Gonna go throw up now...

Dropped off some equipment w them and they said it would be a 2-3 weeks and id be contacted. 2 months went by and i never got call. I called a few days ago and they gave me a number to call. Called the number and it went to some music voicemail (had no idea if it was even the right number w the 12 year olds voicemail). Anyway i left a message and after 3 days he didnt respond to the call. I called back at the shop mainly concerned that they misplaced my gear. He said call that number again, so i did and he answers to tell me they wont even look at it for a few more weeks. The amount of time doesnt even concern me as much as the lack of communication of the course of that time.
