I was charged for 62 miles when I didn’t even drive 30 miles!!!!! Their excuse was I should of took photos. I would have if I knew they were going to scam me! Do not use this location. I’m so disappointed. That’s over $30 I was charged for something I didn’t use. I drove 6 miles from Uhaul to my apartment then 10 miles to storage and 10 miles back to Uhaul. WOW.

The rental is for 24 hours, BUT BEWARE when they ask you how long you think you need the truck, they will set you a new return deadline and charge you for two days if you go past this time. Always tell them you need the truck for 24 hours. They did refund the over-charge which is why they get 2 stars and not 1, but it was hard to get a hold of them to get that sorted.

I dont understand all the negative reviews, my experience at this location was stellar. The only negative part was the customers in front of me in the line who werent prepared, and had to keep us all waiting while they uploaded their IDs, which they shouldve done before arriving.It was a breeze checking out the vehicle, the gentleman who helped me was very helpful in answering all my questions and explaining everything I needed to know.Returning the vehicle was just as easy, got an email receipt less than a minute after dropping the truck off.Will gladly come back to this location to rent a truck again if I ever have to.

Weak communication and nickel and dime culture. I made clear I wouldnt be returning the truck I rented to this same location, which apparently went over the head of the representative and was not written into the contract. I subsequently was charged an additional $180 fine for returning it elsewhere. No receipt or notice either, found the charge in my bank statement later.

Discrimination against my father for being mobility disabled or because the manager is African-American and my father is white. We were told that having major credit card is needed for small cargo vans and pickup trucks only. That a debit card is fine for regular box trucks. He said he did not have any. Nevertheless, I was able to reserve one that was in the parking lot. He still refused, despite his earlier OK for using a debit card for that size of truck. We were able to rent small vans without any problems in Washington State.Please do not rent from this particular location of U-Haul only.

The van came with a broken antenna and was extremely dirty upon pickup. When I told an employee who was walking by, he said dont worry about it without even looking my way as he walked past me. Service staff was slow and did not seem to have any interest in serving anyone in the store. I reserved moving blankets but the store said they did not have any so I had to buy some at the store. When I returned to drop off the van, no one came out to help me and I had to seek out someone. The drop off instructions were not clear and the lady who came out to assist me was not really helpful at all either. The store seems very disorganized and the staff is not customer friendly. I will not rent from this location ever again.

I had to wait 45 extra minutes even though I used the self service feature. The employees couldn’t find the keys to my truck and wouldn’t take their time to help me at first. One man was able to scramble around and find it, so I drove away only to find out they hadn’t provided me my furniture pads or dolly. They hadn’t even taken the time to give me a heads up that they would be missing. I drove back and they told me they ran out and to leave a note in the truck? We called to ask for the extension and they were unwilling to help in any way and were very rude. They still charged me for the missing equipment and extra time even though they were the ones that wasted my time. Don’t usually expect much from a U-haul but the workers there were incompetent at best and unhelpful to say the least.

Ive been renting a storage unit here for about 3 months now and I love it here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have ramps and plenty of platform trucks on-site that make unloading and reloading your items a breeze.

Well they had no problem taking our money to install the trailer receiver but they waited until we showed up the day of the appointment to tell us that it was on back order. Their laziness and incompetence not only caused us to needlessly take off time for the appointment but assured that we couldn’t get it installed by an actual professional in time for our trip. Then the employee on the phone refused to accept responsibility for their failure and hung up on me. Save your time and money and take a hard pass on this location.

Had to be chased around their location by a guy in a forklift because there were no parking spaces and he couldnt have me in the way as I parked next to another car away from the U-Haul trucks. Had to walk in and wait 30 minutes for them to tell me my reservation I had paid for and was confirmed on their app was not valid because they dont take same day reservations and didnt think to notify me of their policy any other way before this. Staff were all short and rude with the customers and I had to lose the couch I was picking up because of them.

The staff were not wearing masks. Its still a pandemic. The team also seemed liked they couldnt care less about anyone. But thats not even my grudge with this team. I have been using Uhaul weekly for years, what a wonderful organization, never had an issue until today. But Tristan, the manager, was aggressive and rude to me on the phone after I received a crazy $600 bill. I had to put the phone down to stop him verbally abusing me... at 7.10am in the morning! He was angry at me?! I wont get into the details of it all, but I get the idea that Im not the only one thats run into this scam. They must be making some kinda kick back from it. Do not bring back your van late! Not even 1 minute! If youve been at the hands of these bullies, please leave a review so others can see it. Im now about to spend my day complaining to all Tristans bosses.

Placed an online order to be picked up later in the day. When I arrived there was a man sitting at the front desk on his phone, didn’t acknowledge me when I entered or when I approached the counter. I said hello, still didn’t get off his cell phone. After asking how HE was (still no response) i said I was picking up an order. I told him my name, he clicked a few things on the computer, printed out a paper and then started going around the store. At this point he still hasn’t said a word to me, and is just going around gathering what I bought which should have been ready.. I mean what’s the point of calling ahead? He throws everything, it was a larger order, on top of other boxes and says “here’s your order”.. he then watched me as I struggled and went back and forth loading my car without offering so much as to hold the door open for me let alone if I needed assistance... mind you there was NO ONE else in the store. Horrible customer service.

Could not leave on scheduled pick up time because they left a lock in the back cargo door that they were not supposed to. I had to come here personally twice to set a reservation to change the time that wasn’t fixed when I originally made it to 5 AM so yes that schedule time was a big deal. I know people make mistakes but this one is costing me time I don’t have.

Poor service. I had reservation and when i got there they said the van is dirty and i was in a hurry i was given a smaller van!! Then my total milage was 10 miles and i got charged 25 dollars for gas!!!!!!!! Disappointed. I want to talk to a manager tomorrow. Why $25 dollars for gas for ONLY 10 miles drive?????

I had a 24/7 truck share scheduled only to find out at my scheduled time that they had converted it without my knowledge to another type of reservation. I was basically screwed and had to scramble to figure out a solution after hours, which was difficult. I dont recommend this location, or using the 24/7 service.

Reading the reviews for Slaughter Lane Uhaul I see I’m not alone in my disappointment. The place is very poorly managed and chaotic. We dropped off a one way rental and the return lane was full. I parked the truck off to the side and told the agent, I had a very ill person with me and needed to get her home. He said no problem they would email us the receipt later that day. A day later and 4 calls to the customer service line, still no receipt and the truck wasn’t showing checked in. After being escalated to the National help line, the phone agent finally persuaded the manager to check in the vehicle. Love Uhaul, but avoid this location if possible.

Ross the GM of this location has absolutely no idea what hes doing.. I set an appointment to meet person free (because of COVID and I have someone easily compromised) his people made sure that never happened. The vehicle itself was dirty.. I had a contract to drop off at another location his people changed it without telling me and had me sign a contract without letting me see it. I returned it to the location I originally set for the drop off and they charged me an extra 200 dollars because I didnt know they changed it. But Its part of the contract we changed!! After talking to Ross the GM of this location its obvious he has no idea how to even spell U-Haul even if you gave him all the letters and put it in order for him! My advice? If you dont want to get scammed stay far away from a Ross lead U-Haul location. #MakeUhaulGreatAgainFireRoss

This was a horrible experience. We reserved online and expected to complete the check out process on mobile as we’ve done before. However, when we found our van it had been given to someone else even though it matched the number in our reservation. Following that, the Uhaul employees were incredibly unhelpful, did not practice social distancing, one touched my phone without my permission to check our reservation, another refused to wear his mask indoors and outdoors and continued to step closer to us to talk while unmasked. We were told we had no reservation even though I had a confirmation number, then the employee helping us simply walked away without a word. We had no idea what to do and went inside to wait in the long line while both employees who had been helping us, helped others. We got to the counter and one employee finally helped us get our van. Then, one of the employees who had been unhelpful previously pulled up the wrong vehicle for us and gave a van to someone else, again. We expressed frustration with the level of customer service by saying we’d been waiting for an hour for a reservation and had been ignored and had our van given out to others twice. This employee simply walked away without an apology or response at all. Terrible customer service, rude and inconsiderate employees, we will never return.

Absolutely horrible.Rented a trailer and watched an employee smash it right into the back of our personal vehicle, leaving a giant dent.The insurance information we were reluctantly given does not allow you to speak with a live person.The manager (who has several other negative reviews here) was rude and unprofessional.The “customer service” call center transfers you around in circles and refuses to let you speak with a superior or offer to provide any kind of solution whatsoever.U Haul will never receive my business ever again.

July 1st: Wanted to get a new hitch installed on my car and this location (over an hour away) was the only location that had the one I needed. I called and they couldnt hold the product without a credit card and then couldnt process my credit card despite trying it 3 times.I gave up and went online to schedule the installation despite really only wanting to purchase the hitch and install it myself. I drove to the location and had a really hard time finding parking. I then waited in line for 30 minutes because there was only one employee helping customers.They told me they couldnt find the hitch and tried to send me to another business to get one installed. As it turns out they were looking for the completely wrong hitch size! They finally found the hitch and installed it.Upon arriving at home, I discovered that they didnt return to me a plastic under-body trim piece that was removed during the hitch install. I called them and was sent to central customer service where I was assured TWICE that a manager would be calling me back from the location. 4 days later, I receive a call from a manager at a difference location who obviously has no idea what is happening and no authority to make it right.Obviously I do not recommend this location or any U-Haul location for that matter. Very disappointed in their service and would love to be refunded at least the install price.

Rented a motorcycle trailer only to have the employee wheel it around by hand and smash it into the back of my personal vehicle trying to hook it up. Causing thousands of dollars of damage. Employee tried to cover it up and say, thanks have a nice day.. Ross the manager was involved after this and was only rude and unprofessional. I wasnt given any clear contact information for their insurance, and could not even get a hold of a superior via telephone.

1st time ever using U-Haul and the experience was great! Arrived and got a 15 foot truck within 20 minutes. The customer service was subpar sadly but other than that, the process was very smooth! FYI: Sunday-Thursday the rate per mile is only .89 cents versus $1 and some change on Friday & Saturday.

Reserved a truck for 8:30am and they cancelled my reservation. They didn’t even consider that I was waiting in line for 30 min. Finally got a truck and they gave us the wrong size. Finally on the road and it started pouring and they gave us a truck without windshield wipers. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Will never in my life go to uhaul again. Also customer service was the worst. My mother was on hold w corporate for 2-3 hours and they sent a electrician to come check out the truck Instead of a mechanic we waited over an hour for that as well. He couldn’t fix it.

I showed up at this location on a very busy and scorching hot Friday afternoon to pick up a 6x12 trailer (6/15/18). The guy working the drop-off/pick-up bay was extremely busy. My trailer hitch was fresh out the box, and of course, the hole didnt align with my truck hitch. Without hesitation, this guy took care of me. He pulled my truck into the service bay and drilled a hole in my hitch to make it fit. He refused my tip as well. A++ service!!! Highly recommend this location!

My boyfriend and I rented a climate controlled unit on the 4th floor thats supposed to be 65°-85°F (on all the floors) and the temperature on the wall said it was almost 100°F in there. We talked to one of the managers that works at the front desk and she said All the floors are the same temperature. If you go down to the 3rd floor its much cooler. The air conditioning is running up there, I assure you. Theres nothing I can do.Well obviously it wasnt if I was sweating in what was supposed to be A CLIMATE CONTROLLED UNIT. I think the manager just didnt want to get of her ass and help.

The manager literally locked the door in my face as I was getting out of a cab from the airport. I had reservation and had called to tell them we were on way to which they said that I had better get there before 7. She said computers turn off at 7 and to come back tomorrow. I had to pay cab back to airport to get a rental car and then go on to rent truck in San Antonio. I wish I had listened to the negative reviews about the indifferent manager. Used Uhaul many times around the country through the years and never been treated like this.

I had a very disappointing experience as there were major discrepancies from what I was quoted to what was paid. The staff was incompetent as to why this was. Apparently the internet system that allows you to reserve a uhaul does not link up with their exact rates , even after you put in the mileage expected to travel. I do not recommend this location as customer service was fair, if not poor as they blew off my situation, and once again was incompetent to the whole situation.

Normally I would recommend this place, but, after a recent visit I can say that management needs to do a better job. I took my new Spotless Un damaged F150 to get a 6x12 cargo trailer hooked up. I kept the trailer attached the whole time I was borrowing it. When I returned the trailer I noticed a golf ball sized dent in my rear bumper. I felt like it may have been the serviceman that may have tapped my bumper with the tounge of the trailer. I got the manager involved, his name is Orlando. Instead of listening to what I felt like may have happened, I kept getting dismissed and told it was not possible. I said I disagree and told him to talk to the serviceman to see if he remembered tapping my bumper and call me back. It’s been a week and I still haven’t received any call. Orlando should go work as a cotton candy maker at a circus. I will not go back to this store ever.

We made the mistake of letting the U-Haul rep we spoke with fill out our reservation for us. Without telling us, he had our truck due back at 4:00 the same day, because they wanted to rent it out to someone else. We needed a full 24 hour rental. So I get a call at 4:30 asking if I need the truck longer. Of course I do; I paid for a 24 hour rental. He told me that he had someone at U-Haul waiting for my truck, and after some huffing and puffing, told me to have it back at U-Haul by 7:15 the next morning or he would charge me $250 in late fees. Are you kidding me?!So we get it back at 2:00 in the morning so we dont have to wake our kids up early to take a U-Haul back, and get a bill today, where we were arbitrarily charged for two full days. We had the truck less than 24 hours. The only saving grace was that most people we had to speak with on the phone were friendly.Also, they park their trucks on a steep decline for you to take a look at the gas gauge, making the truck appear more full than it really is. Give me a break.

Made a reservation by telephone for a mobile after hours pick up. Did the express check in. When I arrived there was no vehicle set up for me and the place was closed. Finally saw a guy locking up and leaving so asked him what’s going on. He wasn’t helpful. He Alamo’s didn’t even want to help me. Instead he said that they had a busy day and probably forgot about the reservation. When I asked what I should do he didn’t offer to help. He instead said for me to call the customer service guy. Was on hold with customer service for 20 mins and they told me that my reservation was there but didn’t know why the vehicle wasn’t made ready. Told me to call back following day and ask for manager. Called them back the following morning and they put me on hold. After 15 mins on hold I just gave up. Horrible experience

If I could give a zero I would. Reserved the truck 2 weeks in advanced, moving from Austin back to Dallas. Arrive at the time we scheduled to pick up the uhaul to only find out, the truck wasnt back. We were told come back in an hour. Came back and still no truck available.....no one in the office cared or even attempted to help resolve the issue.Called customer service and I will say Peggy was the ONLY one who tried to resolve the issue. So I will say Thank you for trying to resolve the issue. She placed me on hold only to get a rude condescending tone from someone who said he was the Regional?? He was snappy, rude and didnt care that we had been waiting. All he kept saying was that per the policy and procedures is that uhaul is NOT required to have the truck at the time you reserve it...only to provide the equipment/truck for rental.I said no one has even apologized and he rudely said do you want an apology? Poor customer service. Called at early in morning to reserve a moving truck and spoke with John who indicated to me that there are 3 trucks left, and will reserve one and took my name down. This being my very first moving experience, I truly believed that I had an reservation for a moving truck.To my dismay, when I arrived at this U-haul location to speak with Judy, the owner/manager only to find out that there are no trucks on the lot, all already swiped up by other customers.Apparently John was either unfamiliar with reservation process, or did not follow the proper protocol only to cause me not having a reservation in the first place because I did not know that they were supposed to take my credit card number to make an reservation (due to me being only a novice at this moving experience which caused my reservation being given away)Judy was extremely cold-hearted and clearly showed extreme lack of interpersonal skills as she continued to refuse to communicate with me using paper and pen and forced me to read her lips throughout the ordeal, as I am hearing impaired.Judy was rude and brushed me off with an unsympathetic attitude by shrugging and said sorry I cant help you and proceed to move on to the next person waiting behind me. Try to find another moving company. The past experience (ive moved at least 10 times in 10 years) makes me understand that UHaul is going under. Customer service was terrible, made no sense to reserve as the trucks were dirty and less than half a tank on a one-way trip across Texas. And did I mention customer service was terrible? Waiting to hear back from a marketing manager. Only 1 good experience I can think of in those 10 times, and that employee wanted to quit because of the manager, it showed with his great customer service. This place was horrible!!!! First of all there was a girl named star at the front desk who all she did was play on her phone. She did not give a care in the world about the customers. They did not have their information together and stuff got all mixed up. Go to a different Uhaul.

So I’m not one to complain, but I know I’m not going back there, I figured okay $20 to rent the pick-up truck plus $10 for insurance, and then 59cents a mile still not to bad, but when I went to go get the pick-up truck at 7am the lady asked me how many miles will I be going total I said only 20miles, she said “okay you will be paying $80 for the truck”, so no thank you, I don’t know how you got $80 but I’m not going to pay that much for the 2 hour I needed it.

People are really unfriendly and most of them are sitting around when customers are waiting for service. ALWAYS check mileage on trucks because if they have service done and had miles put on while on service they will not update their mileage and charge the customer extra

After hours pickup is useless. The identity verification did not work and Uhaul did zero to help. It screwed up our moving schedule and will not be doing business again with them.

During hitch install wrapped the tail light wire harness around muffler. Melted the wire and short circuited the connection. Very undafe.

Terrible. They prominently advertise a $19.99 rental fee, but this does not include a $10 insurance fee that CANNOT be waived and they wont let you rent unless you pay it.Even the scummy banks, when they charge fees, these are in the range of $2-$5. $10 is 50% of that price. You cant hide that in the print as additional fees unless you are terribly dishonest, immoral, and unethical.
