Spacious comic book shop. They seem to have all the new big 2 titles and plenty of indies. Several shelves with bound collections also.

This place is fantastic. Owner is a gentleman, and assists in any way he can, ones searches, questions, and requests. Its larger than it looks from the exterior. And friendlier than expected, on the inside!!

A great local comic book store with manga and a gaming area in the back. The new comic book wall on the right as you enter the store is long and impressive. It reminds me of a shop that I used to go to when I was in middle school.Make no mistake though, this is not just a kids store as it offers many adult graphic novels as well.The manga section is not very robust, but they do have My Hero Academia, which is a must for many kids right now.The staff that I have interacted with were all friendly and helpful and there is clearly a Ioyal store community. Almost every time I have gone to the store there has been at least one person inside just hanging out with the staff, and I like seeing that in local stores.Overall, a nice comic shop with lots to offer.

We went in looking for miniature figures and paints to paint them. They have a great selection and we found exactly what we were looking for. They have a board game selection, some dice, and a few other games as well. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Moving to Austin recently, I was very happy to find a FLGS with a great selection of books and games. Ive pre-ordered items from them a couple of times and theyve always done a great job at it.

A great shop. Last time I was here? I called ahead for boxes and bags. They said no need for a credit card, just show up. Spent about 2 hours browsing, went to the counter, told them I had boxes and bags being held. They then rang my purchases up and asked me to wait as they got my stuff from the back. The boxes and bags were in a large and sturdy bag to carry them to my car. I will be back the next time I am in the area.

Nice shop with an excellent comics selection and pretty good games section. Not much Warhammer in stock, but they carry the paints.

Pretty classic comic and games store. They carry all the important lines of cards, books, and comics and have a special order system, too. I had a good experience brining my son in to buy TWD comics and get a board game for our family. I was able to call ahead and have them hold the game for me, which was awesome. Its obvious they have a solid setup for in-house card playing and D&D nights when its allowed again. Until then, show Tribe some love!

They were very knowledgeable about their inventory and helped me find the perfect board game for my gaming needs. Tensions in my group have run high from months of Catan, so I wanted a co-op game with high difficulty and high replay value that we could all band together against. I explained my needs to the staff and they were able to point out several options, I ended up settling on The Grizzled at the very reasonable price of $25. Turned out to be perfect and so much fun for us. Buying a board game can be risky because youre never sure if you and your friends will like it, but you can rest assured that the staff at Tribe will help you find the perfect option for your exact needs.

My weekly DnD group would meet here. We would always find something new on on the shelves that we wanted. Whether it be new dice, minis, source books or even a new comic Tribes got you covered. If they dont have it they can get it!

Great place with very knowledgeable staff, helped us pick out Coma Ward to get through the COVID induced boredom! Always a friendly atmosphere, not like some comic/game shops where you feel like an outsider. Glad to have a local place like this!

Good and varied selection for comics and games.

Its always a pleasure to find employees that work at comic book stores who are crazy knowledgeable about all comics and also enjoy working there. Every time I take my kids into Tribe they are super helpful educated my kids on finding a good comic to read and where to start. My son (9) wanted to jump into Spiderman and the employee explained good ones to start with and why. My daughter (6) wanted to get her first comic and they gave her so many options and reasons why to choose them.

Cozy comics and gaming store with friendly staff. Their RPG selection is small, but they have a good assortment of board games and tables on which to play. They also host gaming events; last time I stopped by, a group of six or so kids were engaged in an animated D&D session.

Tribe was the first comic shop I visited when I moved to Austin. The location is easy access, the people are friendly, and the selection is excellent and topical. But what really sets it apart, in my opinion, is the staff. If I say something like, I really liked the run of Wonder Woman by Gail Simone, but I also liked Locke & Key, can you recommend something?. They know the answer. They have made recommendations for me and my wife and we have very different tastes. We both loved our choices.

It was a fun visit here. I dont live in san Antonio but I noticed they have dungeons and dragons going on and Im sure other games if you ask. I purchased dungeons and dragons figures for my son for Christmas.

She was looking for something specific (SpongeBob) but it was not available. Thankfully, Michael was there to assist us with finding the perfect series. Our niece picked out 3 new books and she was beaming with excitement. She finished one of them before we even made it back to Marble Falls!!As an adult who started reading comics at a young age, it makes me very happy to have a young family member share in that joy. Thank you, Tribe Comics and Michael, for helping to make this a very special day for our niece!!

Just called up the store to see if they had a specific rpg book in stock. And while they didnt have what I was looking for the clerk was extremely helpful and knowledgeable over the phone and was able to point me in the right direction.If any of you who work at the store are reading this, thank you guys!

Cool place

One of the most welcoming, exciting places to go. My husband and I just moved to Austin and walked in one night and everyone was so kind and brought us into the fold. Some premium comics books and board games as well. I will continue to recommend Tribe comics and their Tuesday Board Games nights to everyone I know!

Hands down one of the best comic book and board games you will find. They have a wide collection of comics, board games, and minatures from all different genres and they are always welcoming of new people in their weekly events (see below for more info) Drinks here are also extremely cheap; you can buy a fairly decently sized can of iced tea (good quality as well) for about $1.50 and they serve it in a variety of flavors. Great for when your deep into a board game and just need some refreshments.Its also conveniently located next to Subway, Torchy Tacos, and Kerby Lane, and you are welcome to bring in food from those locations, however DO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. They have bins there for dispoal. Be sure to use them; no one likes having to clean up your mess. As a general rule of thumb, be sure to ask for their permission if you arent sure. Helps make everyone happy and the owners really do appreciate when you try to help take care of their shop.Events are held throughtout the week, with Saturday, Sunday, and Monday being the only days that events arent held. They also have an award winning ladys DnD night that you absolutely should give a try out if your a lady looking for something to do on a Wednesday night, a Tuesday board game night (lots of fun, I go to this one a lot as there is a nice variety of games to choose from), a excellent DnD Adventures League on Thursday (get in early, it gets really busy), and DnD Homebrew on Friday.Obviously right now none of these events are being run right now, but hopefully once COVID-19 dies down, these events will be brought back to life.If you do decide to come on down, be sure to say hi to Lee and Daniel, the store managers, and you can find me in the store as Grant, the tall ginger guy :)

I had a friend visit for the weekend and while waiting for his flight we grabbed Ramen from a couple stores down and hung out in Tribe. The owner was an incredible host even after we asked after brand new games (recently kick-started) to buy and he didnt have them in stock yet. Just to emphasis, the owner focused on building long term customers with excellent customer service. It was great and I will be back.

Loved my experience here. They have a great selection of everything from comics to games! And they are very well informed on their inventory. Also the art on the walls is for sale! I bought a Star Wars glitter painting for my apartment and it looks AWESOME!

I love tribe. I went in yesterday with a list of things I like to read and the owner gave me a list of comics I might like. This is the 3rd or 4th time theyve done that for me. Theyre recommendations are not pushy and honest.

Ive had a wonderful experience every time Ive gone to Tribe Comics and Games, granted I dont get to go as often as Id like. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly to the point of even offering me a place to come and read if I just need to get out of the house. If they dont have an item you want theyll not hesitate to special order it for you. I can honestly say theyre hands down the best comic & gaming shop in South Austin. If you read this review be sure to stop by and check the place out at least once. Im sure youll quickly become a regular customer.

The thing that sets these guys apart is the service. Its a small shop but the guys there can point you to something after chatting you up a few. Plus theres good eats nearby and cool art in store as well as games available for try.

I love playing board games here! Its really nice to be able to walk in and join a group of strangers without any qualms. Everyone is very friendly including the staff. You can even bring your own food and drinks!

Im not a big comic guy. But my children are. I was running through town & stopped. I was helped to find everything I needed. Left there super happy. Kids were happy later as well. Good experience.

Im glad other people enjoy this place. It just isnt my vibe. They workers were nice, but the store had a bad odor. We were greeted very nicely when we walked in, but I was a little surprised that the person was drunk. Im hoping he wasnt an employee, just an very helpful customer?

Similar to Wonkos up north, this is a great store all around. There is a wide selection of board games, comics, and other collectibles. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a huge amount of table space to play games in the store. The owner encourages this and participates regularly. You can bring food and drinks.

Tribes is a great comic store, even if I use it for some other side games. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They do have some small concerns but they are clearly defined and when understood, are very reasonable. If youre looking for comics and would like to get a weekly bundle, ask them.

What about amazing comic book and gaming store. The sheer amount of selection to be had here is great, and the prices are at fair market values. The daily events are the huge draw for me, and it makes this place a great gathering place.

I love this place! It can be a little hard to be a female comic book fan sometimes. They never treat anyone with a “gate keeper” attitude. They answer all questions sincerely with out judgement which is a breath of fresh air for comic book stores in Austin.I just love this place.

They host the weekly Sunday and Tuesday board game meetup here. Its a great place to meet fellow board/card gamers and experience new games with having to buy. We have bought a few games after having fun playing but its not required.

Ive only visited once but I left a fan. After a $20 purchase my daughter was even gifted the Captain Marvels relaunch #1. She was excited and this is now MY comic book store.

Home away from home for gamers. If D&D iw your thing what makes Tribes Thursday nights special is that everyone, no matter, experience level, or lack of assertiveness, will get to play. This is not how store RPGs usually work. Tribe is the best place for newbies to play by far.

Half comics half gaming. No bells or whistles. They have virtually every comic that matters and will order any book you ask for. No back issues and no variants, hence 4 stars.

I just wanted to second Marks review of a guy named Michael who works at the store. For the longest time, I thought Michael was the owner of Tribe Comics. He walks around like he owns the place. He is always ease dropping into other peoples conversations. He then makes uninvited comments about what we are talking about. The guy is creepy. The other day he started screaming at our group saying we were too loud. I think he was just mad because we ignored his previous inappropriate comments.

Fastest way to get on the banned list is to laugh at customers when they ask for something. Answer nicely, you are in customer service its your job. A simple no would suffice.

The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the selection of board games and tabletop games are great! Not a ton of Magic/Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon, but beyond that, great offerings and prices!

I come here pretty frequently to buy comics or participate in game nights. The employees are some of the most legit people in Austin, and they really have a large and active crowd of table-top gamers there.
