Hideout reminds me of my childhood. Im pretty sure their coffee and bagel added years onto my life cause they were so delicious

Service and coffee were great. I was expecting the improv theater to be open, but it wasn’t due to covid. It has some seats outside if you want to enjoy outdoors and it is located on a street with a lot of activity so it is fun if you want to see a glimpse of Austin.

Great coffee, friendly and fast service.My soy lattee tasted great and wasnt too pricey.Keep in mind, you cant walk in to order but need to place your oder by the window. They only have two tables to sit outside and eat at - if you end up ordering food. Didnt get any pastry items but they looked great.

At first the price was shock. However, the coffee and food was worth it and a good value.Ordered the bacon, egg, chive tot and the Hideout Hazelnut. The coffee wasnt burnt and wasnt overly sweet. The tot was heavy, hot, and perdect to start a long day.This is NOT a wimpy coffee shop!

Krikaoli recommends it! If you like coffee and an unusual place, this is the right niche for you. The chocolate chip cookie is terrible. I was looking for some coffee restaurant, and everything was already closed, at 10 pm, and found this one. They dont serve the expresso coffee in mugs, but it is a lovely coffee and ambiance.

This cafe is such a fun find in downtown Austin! Right on congress, with a view of the capital building, this little spot has a lot going on. They serve great crafted coffee and lattes, and the barista who made my drink put so much love into it. She was eager to give me tips and hints to making my own at home, and everyone I spoke to was kind and sweet. They also serve baked goods and some diner foods. The real surprise though, is the comedy club in the back of the cafe! It’s definitely worth checking out.

I used to go there early in the weekend mornings when I went to the Capitol, or just wandered around downtown before all the clutter (read: people) were out. Nice, quiet place with good coffee and eats.

Nice local place. Dark Horst is really strong. :). Only thing is the call out your order and then just leave it there. Could definitely improve on remembering customers and know they are waiting for their order that you just put to the side. My friends finished their food when I finally went to ask about mine. Would have loved to have the meal at the same time considering it was ready at the same time.

Always a friendly place on this lovely street, Congress Avenue. This busy coffee spot is def a place to hideout and also has a theatre. I’ve been here countless times to study, have a quick coffee, stare at all the business Men (haha), and have a quick snack. Their coffee is reliably always the strongest when I want a great coffee. They tend to rotate their coffee, as well, but they always have a dark option. But pictured here is a different coffee out of my curiosity: their Honey Lavendar Latte. I saw it a while back and had to ask them to make it this time around. This coffee place is one of my top 3 places for good coffee in Austin.

This place is nestled in the heart of downtown and serves coffee and adult beverages. It also has a theater upstairs. The coffee is at par with other coffee houses and is definitely worth a visit.

Iced coffee is so good! And the lady working the window is so Austin awesome 😎Note: the hours on Google are incorrect, but idk the correct hours yet to submit a correction, so I recommend checking the website or calling before heading there.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because they are receiving an extra star for the current state of the world. I contemplated 1.The coffee might have been the worst I have had. After trying multiple times and multiple items, espresso drinks and drip, hoping that it would be different I am giving you for now.There is a Starbucks across the street and the cafe in the Caroline is open now as well. I will give it another try in the future because I want to support the locals but they need to get the basics down.

Best coffee Ive had during the month weve been in the US. They even made me a long black to my taste and the parfait and croissant were really tasty also

Nice relaxing place to chill out and enjoy some joe. The service was pleasant and quick. The decor was kinda cool with an homey rustic feel and you can sit in front of the windows for a good session of people watching on the street. I would much rather support a place like this than one of the big national chains. I would recommend The Hideout Coffee House to anyone visiting Austin.

One of my favorite spots in Austin. Great atmosphere, drink options, food and snacks to order, and the improv shows are absolutely incredible.

Was here for work and this was walking distance to the hotel we were staying at. It was busy and the staff remained calm and super friendly. This place is a super cute coffee house with exposed brick and indoor seating and games! They had Rock’em Sock’em: if that doesn’t make you want to come here then I don’t know what will!I ordered the nitro cold brew with oat milk... delish!

Service is always nice even when they have a full house. I will be back with my coworkers. Bring your hunger - portions are large.

I drank that much even when it’s hot alittle too fast because.....it’s one of best latte ever. Usually I’m very picky with coffee and I’m coffee drinker. I love coffee. I can’t survive without it. This is first latte in a long time that it’s so perfect I don’t need to add sugar or anything. Amazing service. Amazing communication friendly for deaf people. Cozy and style. Not to mention, amazing mind blown elegant photography by Steve Rogers portraits work. In love with this place. You lose the experience of authentic coffee house if you don’t come here.

Came here to see Consensual Hex, and they were HILARIOUS. I highly recommend seeing them! The coffee shop itself was okay. The drinks were okay and the cupcake was a little dry, and one staff member was very rude. But the comedy show totally made up for it. They were awesome!

The place is good. I love the music, the interior, strong wifi and staffs service. They are really nice!! And the lavender honey latte was also good. Its not amazing but the flavor was satisfying. It would be better if it is thicker!!

Who knew you could have Vietnamese coffee on tap?! Well I found out going to the Hideout for the first time. It was delicious and the people were great! Cant wait to come back to Austin and get coffee there.

No whipped cream needed since the milk froth is impressively thick. Going back ASAP to try the nitro Vietnamese cold brew.

First off, I LOVE their loose leaf teas! Pretty much THE reason why I come here when Im in Austin. Plus, their breakfast tacos are a nice touch early in the morning. Fantastic place to just sit and work on writing and stuff. Great place to chill and enjoy yourself.

Wonderful spot! The coffee is always spot on, and you might not know it by looking, but theres a great little theater in the back!!! We came here for my husbands birthday and saw an improv show, and it was just great. Funny and intimate, and with an intermission to get a snack, coffee or bevvy. Love that we found this little gem, and we will be back.

Love this coffee place, especially because its open until midnight (so you can get drinks after the bar!). They have a great selection of types of coffee, chai, etc, including non-diary options. And they make latte art, so what more do you need? Pricing is similar to Starbucks, and the drinks are better!

Just no...theres way better coffee joints literally just down the street at Houndstooth...or Starbucks. Sub-par coffee. Im sure most employees are great but we got an unhelpful uncommunicative guy at the counter.

Is as its name describes, a little hideout tucked into South Congress and 6thish. Been a few times to grab a quick coffee and a break from work. Friendly staff and a nice chill setting. I dont want to say limited seating, but you wont find a crowd of noisy individuals, like the three bears said, not too small, not too large, juuuust right.

No-nonsense espresso drinks for a very reasonable price and really appreciate the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you!

I just ate the best pecan pie bar I have ever had. I haven’t had a lot of those, honestly, but it may have flat out been the best dessert I’ve ever had. Also the vibe here is great and everyone was friendly.

Very chill place and I wouldn’t want to dissuade patronizing an independent business (I’m presuming this to be the case). Just use your best judgment in ordering an add-on item to your coffee. 0-or possibly-1-for2 on that during an Austin visit. In case someone keeps track, one drink missing a detectable shot of hazelnut and the other absolutely missing whipped cream. Coffee was fine and you should try it for yourself. Probably says more about my lame coffee needs than their performance but I’m still disappointed.

Most baristas here are super cool, fun, and serve with flair. Had a recent experience with a low energy and apathetic barista. The teas are great and the coffee is tasty! Really chill space and nice location.

Friendly staff and its usually easy to plug in here. One of my favorite places to meet or work downtown. The Raspberry Riot will wake you up and/or keep you awake all night.

Definitely keeping it local at this coffeehouse. They make Starbucks quality drinks, keep prices low, and have a handful of other local eating selections for lunch/snacks. The ambiance is fairly quiet so you could actually get work done here as well!Early morning they have some bomb breakfast tacos, but you gotta get there early.

I was just exploring Austin and bumped into this place. Tasty grilled cheese caprese, nice beer and wine selection, especially for a coffeehouse. bEST of all though, their improv comedy!!! Amazzzing!!

A decent coffee shop and cafe, also the front for a theatre under the same name. Although the menu is fairly extensive and the coffee and tea selection adequate, the space itself feels cramped and touristy. Naturally, positioned directly off of Congress st. in the heart of downtown, one can expect as much. Even still, I wish the owners would put more thought into the character of the establishment. It feels cheap, kind of dirty, and still pricy. Grunge is okay but only if used purposefully. At Hideout, the grunge is a weakness, not a strength. Austin is chalked full of one-of-a-kind coffee shops. Hideout will do the job if you have no other options, but if you can help it, take your business to a more intriguing cafe.

Well you see they didn’t have anything on the menu ie I couldn’t build my own sandwich because they were out of meats in addition they were also out of their hour specialty like what the hell becky so I was forced to just grab a orange juice which I have to say was quite delicious but I advise hideout coffee house to purchase ample product so they wouldn’t have to bombarded with disappointment.

Let me preface this by saying, I mostly go here for breakfast taco and pastries. I love they have many vegetarian options for breakfast tacos. Im not a vegetarian...but I play one on TV. No really, I just dont like heavy, greasy meat in my stomach in the morning. And they have several to choose from. Plus their coffee drinks are delicious and made to order.

Good coffee, but when I came at 9:40p the girl working complained about having to make drinks after there had been a few hours of dead time, requiring her to dirty what she recently cleaned. Hopefully a better experience next time.

Compassionate humans. Baristas are amazing. They have to do their job while managing a unique socio-economic situation. They maintain an orderly establishment while treating the homeless with dignity. Excellent, just excellent.

Went here last Saturday with my family. I ordered a drink and the guy was very rude, he gave me my total without even asking if the people that were with me wanted anything. So, we had to tell him that we werent finished ordering. In the middle of this, the other worker comes over and starts talking across me to the customer to my right, which is extremely disrespectful. The worker taking my order was not pleasant, nor friendly which was very disappointing. He never once made eye contact. So we essentially paid money to get treated poorly.
