The more I review the 14 rolls I sent to develop at Austin Camera, the more angry I get. I do not know how you mess up development this bad. We arent just talking about slight discoloration on one roll - Atleast half of the rolls have something wrong whether it is strong discoloration, crazy bends, or even pieces torn off (how do you even manage to do this?). Please pay the extra 50 cents per roll and go get it developed at a place run by more competent people. Also, this is the only remaining place in Austin the requires a mask and they will all yell at you in sync if you walk in without one. I find it funny that the hipsters with scribbles all over them are being the ones to enforce some sort of demented version of the law. How rebellious and alternative they are.

Really great staff. Very fair prices. Only had one issue with the 100+ rolls Ive sent there (and they were quick to correct it). If they arent 110% sure they can handle something, they will collaborate with other labs to make sure your stuff gets handled appropriately.Everyone is kind, very talkative, and really in love with photography.Also they still require masks in doors which is rad given the surge of covid cases in Texas. They are the only lab still doing this and I really appreciate it.

Ordered some photo prints. Looked good and priced reasonably. The store looked very cute with a lot of interesting vintage and modern gadgets inside.

Don’t waste your time coming here if you need a lens repair. They’re essentially a glorified middle man and send the lens somewhere else to actually get repaired with a 6-8 week turnaround time. As a bonus they charge you a $35 fee for the privilege of their service — whatever that may be. Can also confirm as another reviewer said you will get accosted by the employees as you walk in if you aren’t wearing a mask. If you like going out of your way to pay a pointless fee and being yelled at by a business you’re trying to patronize, this is your place!

Best place to chill by the long range lenses. Great Iso landscape, windows are always kept filter free. Fantastic customer service, impeccable phone line.

Afaik theyre the cheapest in town for 35mm C-41 processing and scanning. Never had much if any issues with them. One time the photos came out a bit hazy and green shifted, but it could have been the expired Gold 400 film. Next time Ill just stick with Fuji Superia even if also expired.

I AM BEYOND GRATEFUL FOR THIS TEAM! I showed up to Austin Camera & Imaging less than 30 minutes before they closed on Monday night. Expressing how important my grandmothers photo slides are for her cold case and they promised that I would have the images by Thursday 6pm! I JUST received the images at 1:23pm...Today is WEDNESDAY! I came for some micro 128 extreme cards.. they had 2 - exactly what I needed! This is more of an old fashioned store, they appear to develop film. They sell tripods, straps, and bags.. along with all other camera accessories. Easy to find, they have a collection of cameras in the window.

Decently priced. Got my film developing order done very quickly over a weekend. Will definitely use again.

The place is poorly kept, but I usually dont care about the image (in this case, the odor) of a business. I reserve judgement for the service. The people here should realize theyre a service-based business. I visited twice, and both times a young lady reluctantly got up from her pressing computer work to help me out, the nuisance of a customer that I was, after 5 minutes of my awkward straining over the counter, trying to see the lenses and bodies they had available for sale. She clearly got annoyed after I asked her to pull two lenses from the counter so I could see what models they were. She told me that all of their lenses were updated online and to look at them before asking for any more. I took her advice and researched them over the next couple of days. I returned asked for two lenses by name, according to the current listing online, and she let me know they didnt have them. In short, this place couldnt care less about me as a beginner, and they let me know it. So I went and spent $1000 at Precision and will continue my business there as I grow in the field. This place will go out of business when their current customer base dies off of old age in the next few years.

Took my boss here because I got a camera here last year and because I love supporting small businesses. My boss spent almost $1000. She’s from Atlanta and was just visiting Austin but loves photography and vintage things, she wanted me to surprise her with a place that she couldn’t exactly find in Atlanta, and to me this place is one of a kind. Competitive prices but slow turnaround. It took them 2 days to charge my account, and 12 days to even generate a shipping label to ship them to me. By the time I have the prints in-hand, it will have taken two weeks to develop and print 3 rolls of 35mm color film to 36, 4x6 prints.

Super quick turn around for developing disposable camera film! But make sure you pick it up ASAP. If you leave your film there for too long theyll throw it away!

I took in some slides late on July 4th and I had the enlargements the next day. So glad they could turn them so quickly. The price was very reasonable. And the parking is convenient.

I have had several prints made here and am very pleased with the quality and processing time. The staff is very friendly, as well. I will definitely keep returning here for prints because of the quality (especially after having a not so great experience at a different local photo lab).

Efficient in developing film. Love that they can Dropbox photos to you and that they let you pick up negatives when youre able to. Not sure how long they hold on to them, but I probably wouldnt go past two weeks.

Honestly best place ive developed at so far, very fast turnaround and great quality service. I came in with 18 rolls needing them done pretty soon and they were able to finish them even before they told me they would be ready. Love this place!!

I have used this company for several important developments of good old fashion film. Recently, I found some slides from the early 50s and they turn them into digital images for less than $15. Their professional and their turnaround time is quick.

Bought my first digital SLR here. These guys are great. They are professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. Ive been back several times and the experience is always the same. Also, I had some prints done there and the quality, which is most important to me, was excellent. The pricing was very fair and the turnaround time was fine. I will definitley be buying any further equipment from them.

I received great customer service at Austin Camera & Imaging. Aaron answered all my questions on lenses. The shop cleaned the Nikon D5100.Matt was very knowledgeable about cameras and lenses. I requested 3 copies of some old 8x10 photos and the copies were flawless and very beautiful. This is the best camera and imaging shop in Austin.

Best camera shop in Austin, hands down. Friendly, non-pushy staff who really know their stuff. They do a magnificent job with equipment servicing while offering better turnaround time and pricing than the competition. Also their selection of vintage equipment is second to none—practically had to restrain myself from impulse buying a 500/cm in pristine condition last time I was there.

Nice little local camera store. Not a huge range of equipment yet, but growing. The staff seem to be photographers, and they can develop&scan your film here too, which is a great plus.

Excellent staff, been coming here for 2-3 years now for film development and have never had a bad customer service experience. My film always comes out perfectly and always within the time frame given, it can take up to a week or so if theyre busy but its understandable since they are one of the last independent development stores around. Cool vintage gear for cheap, expired film for cheap, and plenty of digital camera selections. In and out within 10 minutes every time I have visited.

Ive been to lots of camera stores and the work they do here is incredible. Film development prices are reasonable and they upload the scans to Dropbox (green and convenient!). They also have a pretty wide selection of used lenses (vintage, digital and weird) which you can rent and buy. The space is clean and the employees are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My best compliment is that this is a place where people who shoot go buy and develop. There business serves photographers get their best pictures. The employees also really care too.

I drove 35 minutes to visit the store. Upon going in nothing was organized and nothing had prices on them. I saw a half put together shoulder rig that I wanted to purchase that was sitting on display in a box with other item ready to be sold, it didnt have a price tag so I talk to the associate and he told me they didnt have a price and couldnt sell it to me, he then called a store manager and same thing. Why would things be on display that are t ready to be sold never stepping foot or spending a dime in this place again. Just completely dysfunctional

Worst place to buy used camera equipment! Travelled an hour to check the place for used lens but staff are not knowledgeable about their inventory. I was looking for a used 50mm 1.8d lens when I visited. The girl who helped me said that they dont have the lens after about 10 seconds of looking at their used lens shelves when it was literally right in front of her! The USED lens cost $120 while it sells NEW for $119 in amazon!

This place least has great deals in slightly used equipment, I bright my camera in fir repair and they had it back to its original shape in no time. Very friendly staff, very accommodating.

He had some cool pieces but super lowballed me on a lense I was selling. I ended up not selling it to him. But I may buy from there someday.

They charge $25 just to look at an item for repair. They call it a deposit to take your item and if you refuse to repair it they keep it. They claim its to cover the time cost, good thing Canon doesnt charge to look at the item, they even cover shipping.

1st time customer.Came in on a whim for some Fuji 3000b and some T-Max B&W 120 film for my RZ67.Great customer service, very reasonable prices, and cool dudes to boot!Large assortment of vintage equipment, accessories and FILM! I have had nothing but great service at this store! Every employee I have spoken to has been very knowledgable and goes above and beyond to meet the customerss needs. Ive gone in for a number of services the past week, and just recently they helped me tremendously with my wedding prints. I was unsatisfied (and frankly unknowledgable) with my 300+ prints as they were not of the quality I was hoping for. They took the time to print out test photos, even edit all of them slightly to get them to my liking. We finally figured out the solution and I left happy with beautiful prints and more knowledge about the printing process. Earlier in the week they also gave me the best quote for my used equipment than any other store in town. Thank you so much, Austin Camera and Imaging, keep doing what youre doing!

This shop is terrific. I buy all my film here and have my developing at Austin Camera as well. I bought a mint condition Mamiya 645D at the beginning of the Summer that is exceptional and a much better deal then cameras I have bought on Ebay. The owner is outstanding and always willing to go above and beyond. Unlike Precision Camera where I feel pressured by sales staff to buy when I look at lenses, working with Matt is more like being with a fellow photography enthusiast. I feel so lucky to have this new shop!

After going to CVS and being told by a grumpy old guy that my film couldnt be developed in under a week, I called Austin Camera to see a timeframe and price. They were incredibly helpful, answering all of my questions over the phone and telling me that it would take less than a day to develop my film. I went in the store to get my film developed and they helped me figure out how to get the film out of my camera. We couldnt get the film out, so one of the guys went in the dark room to try and get it when he realized there was no film in the camera (I am new to film and didnt realize I had taken the film out earlier). They were incredibly nice about it, giving me tips on how to make sure film was in the camera.Overall: AMAZING Customer Service!!! Wonderful people!

Good place to find your used bits for your camera. Just a bit hard to shop as a lot of stock is unorganized. I was interested in lenses and lights but tried of the mismatch of items.

I went in because im on vacation and I needed a last minute lens and the guys were nothing but helpful and awesome! If you need camera gear and help these guys will be up to the challenge!

First time customer. Ordered 4 prints online that I needed by noon next day. I paid rush service fee because there was no info during the ordering about when the prints can be expected without paying extra. Then I got a confirmation email and turns out that they would have been done by noon anyway. I did not get the rush fee refunded.When I came to the store to pick them up, customer service was flat as a board. I felt like I’m interrupting the staff and they did not act very courteous. Too bad when trying to support a local business

Helpful and friendly staff, and definitely better than Precision when it comes to *FILM* photography. Theyll develop your photos, give you the negatives and film, and give a dropbox folder with digital scans for you.

Bought a Rolleiflex automat, Portra/Ektar 120 film, Impossible project spectra color film, batteries... they have everything. The service is informative with intimate mom n pop ambience which makes the convo relaxing and gets my questions answered.

My wife took her lens and camera in to get a problem checked. They charged a very reasonable price and were quick too.

Dont take your Leica there for repairs or sales - they pulled a number out of there a** and gave a price 4x higher than precision to fix... Maybe they are pretty good at other brands but not Leica.
