Planes was beyond professional and went above and beyond to make our move as smooth as possible. Scott, Mario, Raul and Vladimir did an amazing job moving all of our things without damage and took extra precautions to ensure our house did not receive any damage as well. I chose them because I thought I would get more quality for my money even though they were the most expensive option. I regret choosing them.1. They lost screws I needed for my desk that they took apart for the move and also broke 3 drawers when they were taking my dresser apart to carry it up the stairs to my apartment. They did not tell me about the dresser drawers, instead I found it myself when rebuilding it.2. Part of the sales pitch to me was that I was paying for them to rebuild everything at the destination. The unloading team arrived at 10:25 when their arrival window was 8:30-10:30 and then said they had to leave quickly for another job without reassembling my furniture when they finished. If they had been more prompt, perhaps they would have had time to rebuild everything but I am not sure if the team unloading my furniture would have been able to figure it out.3. One of the unloaders at my destination was totally physically unfit to carry my possessions up to my 3rd floor apartment and every time I walked down to the truck, he was sitting smoking cigarettes and watching the 2 younger movers doing all the work. He was in charge of the team and most likely responsible for the team not arriving with enough time to assemble my furniture. Furthermore, maybe if he had been able to provide more assistance to his 2 young movers, they would have had time to assemble my furniture.I probably could have gotten much better service for much less money elsewhere. I know other people have had better experiences, but I expected much more for my money. I was totally unimpressed by the unloading team.I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the team that loaded my furniture was helpful, prompt, professional, and competent (unlike the unloading team). The company was also reasonable with the claims process for my lost and broken furniture.

Joel and his team (Danny, Gabe, Gehrig) were excellent. They came today for a full service pack and move of my very large studio as part of my company’s corporate relocation package. Got the arrival window yesterday and they gave me a call when they were an hour away and showed up right at the start of the window. Super communicative throughout the whole process - real pros! I felt bad bc I live in an ancient building with no A/C and on the third floor, plus the truck had to go in a busy back alley shared with some nearby businesses, but they were real sports about it all. Joel encouraged me and my boyfriend to just go and relax and have breakfast down the street - so we just checked in every once in a while but it was nice to stay out of the way. They were in and out in a few hours and a really seamless experience! I would feel confident working with them again.

An incredibly hard working crew.. Joel was ahead of schedule, personable and professional and directed the crew throughout the move. It was incredibly hot both the day of move out and move in and they just kept going. They problem solved through a couple tricky situations and both houses were well cared for throughout.the time estimate on the front end was inaccurate, which resulted in a higher cost, but the movers were absolutely great. Joel and his team (Ramon and Sergio) did an awesome job with our apartment move, they showed up on time and packed our entire kitchen and living room in under an hr (which is crazy as we have wayyy too much stuff) and the rest of the apartment was pretty fast as well (which included disassembling furniture). It’s so worth it! Planes helped me pack up and move out of my Chicago condo. I have never used a professional mover for full packing services before and I will never go back to DIY again. They showed up on time and ready to go. In 6 hours the whole place is cleared out. I am very impressed by their speed and efficiency. Very organized! One thing I overheard is that they don’t charge by the box then reuse the boxes unlike other companies, which means they can actually write on the box vs the tape so there is no risk of loosing track of boxes due to ink smear. Clearly they have done this before so many times and I felt lucky to have them recommended by my company’s relocation services!

Long distance move: Failure to deliver at every turn. Still waiting to hear when our goods will arrive. Local loading team was careless, resulting in damage to house on way out. Move coordinators are deceptive and not customer oriented. They do not disclose that they do not load direct. They offer no solutions or help to customers whose belongings they have.Will update if/when goods arrive and we can inspect inventory for loss and damage. Maybe they’ll pull through, but at current point in the experience it is nothing but anxiety-producing unprofessionalism from Planes.Do not use this company.UPDATE: Items arrived with considerable damage and documents containing falsehoods. Some items were wet. Furniture badly scratched. Mattress ripped. And this is just what is visible as they unload.

I wish the team (or should I say person, since there was only one for a while) at our destination had the same standards. Two very different experiences.

The agent we dealt with, Brian, was fabulous. He worked with us through some very difficult situations and helped us get packed and moved in record time. He went way beyond the call of duty to make our move easy on us and a extraordinary success. All the people on the crew was very professional and worked in an impossible situation with Covid-19 regulations. The packed and moved our belongings with utmost respect and care. Everything was done with the same care or better than I would have handled my things personally. We had to move in a very short time, to two locations, a temporary home and storage for the majority of our things until we can get situated. Brian took personal interest and helped us through a very difficult time. We had considered doing the move ourselves but was so very glad we hired Planes Moving & Storage to do it for us. We would not have completed the task as well as this company did. They took the worry, hard work, and stress off of us and accomplished the move in a way that gave us peace of mind. We work in a radiation oncology clinic. Our accelerator failed and we needed a new waveguide (an 8 foot long piece of copper weighing around 1800 lbs) delivered overnight to our facility. When the Fedex driver arrived, the loading dock staff was unprepared to unload such a large item. But we were lucky enough to have the guys from Planes Moving and Storage already onsite for another job. Even though this was an unscheduled job, they helped us both unload the waveguide from the truck and get it from the dock to the accelerator vault on the other side of the hosptial. They were friendly, very professional, and really helped us out of a bind. Absolutely fantastic!

We went through United Van Lines for a packing and moving service from Chicago to Southern California. Three gentlemen from Planes showed up on our move day for a full pack and move of our 1 bedroom apartment. They were extremely efficient, careful, and knowledgeable during the pack. They packed all our fragile items very carefully, and now that we have received all our items, I can confirm that nothing broke in our move at all. We did have a small mishap on the move day where the tabletop of our dining table accidentally got left behind in our building by the freight elevator. But, the guys came back to pick it up same day, and was delivered to us at our new place, no issues. I was really concerned that packing and loading on move day would take up the whole day, however these gentlemen finished packing our entire apartment and loading it into the truck in under 4 hours. I was very impressed! I would recommend this company to my friends/family for a long or short distance move any time.

I had anxiety before my move with Planes since Ive had professional movers in the past who have either damaged my property, were not efficient, or did not have all the required equipment during my move. Omar and his teams were great to work with on moving day(s)! From our home assessment (which was digital and very convenient) to the move, there was good communication overall. There was a slight miscommunication between the organization and our movers about when they would move us in, which made our delivery day one day later than was contracted; however, we were moving our items into a mini storage, so that was not a big issue and the communication issue was resolved quickly. Nate called with updates frequently, so we felt in the loop the whole time. Summer is a busy time to move; however, we felt prioritized overall and everyone was very professional from start to finish! Thanks Planes!
