The manager John is awesome, not only does he get the things you need taken care of he will explain to you why you need it. Makes you feel like family.

They diagnosed the problem, informed us of the cost. Then they were able to keep the cost lower than they had projected. We were also able to pay over the phone and pick up the vehicle as our schedule dictated.

Got an inspection this time, but stopped in before and they put air in a tire, and checked the pressure on all four tires at no charge (which is why I chose them for my next, needed service). Both times employees were very friendly and professional, and thats something that will ALWAYS bring me back!

I came into Pitstop, a.k.a. Grease Monkeys, at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021, to get an Inspection on my Lime Neon Green Ford Fiesta, and a young man by the name of Hunter Fain came out, and I told him what I needed. I showed him my insurance on my phone, and as I was getting out of the car, I asked him if he needed my keys. He said, that would help to turn the car on. I was taken aback by his answer. I didnt say anything to him after that; He finished the Inspection. I asked his name he told me, Hunter. He then started being polite. By my facial expressions, I do believe the gentleman noticed I wasnt happy with him. But I have to say, if thats the kind of customer service I get, and others, you may end up losing customers. I was never mean or disrespectful to him, and I would be pleased if management or the owners let him know this is not how you treat people. Great place if the owner is NOT there. I required a state inspection. I had been out of state and registered on line. State sent me my registration sticker, with the promise that my vehicle would be inspected upon my return to Texas. I started the inspection in the morning. Needed to get wiper blades. The employees told me to come back after I fixed them, and they could look at them and pass my vehicle. When I returned the owner was present, and refused to do an inspection on my car, because my sticker was not due. He was incredibly pig headed and finally told me to wait until everyone else had been helped not caring that I had already spent two hours there earlier in the morninh. He yelled at any employee who dared to come near me.

Was called and I thought I heard the additional amount for inner tie rods would be $45.00. Repeated $45.00??I was driving and said yes.Called later to tell it was finished, asked about total and was told $503.79.WHAT, I stated that I thought he said $45.00.Well I have had 45 years in Auto Part retail Management.I should have known better.Inner tie rods are very difficult to install w/o the proper tools on the floor of my garage.I paid the FULL AMOUNT, then looked at the invoice.Was charged $139.98 for 2 Moog # EV405.Then charged $255.00 for labor.Well, OReillys charges $41.99 for the exact Moog EV405.On top of that, I buy my parts from Rock Auto Parts and Moog EV405 from them is $15.07 plus freight.You got your money.NEVER AGAIN WILL YOUR COMPANY GET 1 MORE DOLLAR FROM ME!ANYBODY ASK,  I WILL TELL THEM WHERE TO BUY PARTS & WHO TO DO THE LABOR & WHO NOT TO.

The employees was pleasant and helpful. They did a good job and I will use them again, when my vehicle needs something done. I have used them before and will use them again.

The service was great and they got started on my car pretty quickly considering how many customers were there. I needed my low beam headlight replaced and the mechanic did that for a very reasonable price. It wasnt easy because the computer box is only 3 inches from the access to the headlight on the driver side. The pit boss routinely checked on customers to let them know when they were going to be ready for them. I was impressed with him and his crew. I will be back for my cars next service.

Fast friendly no wait inspection. Helpful with any questions about vehicle. Theres a repair shop right behind them that is apparently very reasonable and just as friendly. Im new to area so I was needing to find places for repairs and maintenance when needed.Thanks to Scott and the guys there. I highly recommend them.

I had an inspection and an alignment. The service was incredibly fast. They did the alignment while they were writing up the inspection. I was in and out in no time.

I stopped in one day when my heart was acting up and I needed air put in my tires and I couldn’t do it as I having heart racing and I kept trying to black out when I was trying to put air in. They put the air in and refused my attempts to pay for the service. We have used them for both cars for about 21 years or longer !! They do a through job taking care of our vehicles!!

They tried to scam me on my bill which was ridiculously high. The service took well over 30 minutes and the regional manager Chuck Lafferty never got back to me. The technician Jason was absolutely incompetent and the manager John was argumentative, dismissive and rude. They definitely have a problem with Veterans as it was my disabled veterans plates that triggered their hostility.

Thought I need a coolant change. The tech came and told me its only been 4000 miles last time was done. The notication lite was never reset. They could have done the work and charge me.

Good honest folks that want the best for your car or truck

Used to love this location and service, we took all our cars there, pulled up for a service and was told you can no longer drop off a car and you must wait in your car for an oil change. With cars in front of you it is about a 45 minute wait and in the Texas heat and they are no longer performing all of the full service things but still charging the same price plus the increase with the name change. Was told to get in one line then asked to move so someone could go ahead of me so we left. Do not think we will return.

Good employees do everything you ask of them

Work is good, but way too pushy with upsell items like wanting to replace your cabin air filter or wanting to perform expensive system flushes and fluid replacements that arent really needed. I was told I had water contamination in my front suspension on a practically new truck, which the dealership did not confirm. Having quick oil change places is a great service but theyve gotten too sketchy for me to trust. If you need to use them just get ready to say no to any unexpected service recommendations, and have any problem they find independently verified before spending money on it.UPDATE: Since speaking with Aaron P. the owner, I have increased the review to three stars from two. Aaron was gracious and receptive to my concerns, and promised to work with his staff to improve the service and reliability of his business, and to help customers feel confident that they are getting honest and helpful recommendations for any additional needed services.I am sure Aarons staff regularly find real issues with vehicles. It is a valuable service for customers to find issues that can be fixed before they become serious. A business like his with a good work ethic has a great potential, so I hope to see positive changes in the customer experience in the near future. I realize my experiences may not be typical. I hope not. I recommend that you look at other reviews to get a balanced big picture. As for myself, I will be giving them another chance.

Service was fine but I get really tired of being upsold for every single thing. I know the guys are forced to ask but when I say oil change only and they ask me 3 more things or I say same oil as last time and they still go through the list, I get really annoyed. I dont hold it against the individuals, Ive been in that same position before. I get mad at the company.

Love this place

I used to take my government fleet vehicle here and things went very smoothly. Not anymore. They apparently have change the ownership and run things completely differently now. I told them our fleet manager required us to only do conventional oil now in our vehicles. I had to reiterate this a couple of times when they questioned me about not going with the recommended synthetic. Even though I stressed to them we are required to only use conventional, they used the semi-synthetic, but did not tell me until I was already paying for it. He said they do not even carry conventional anymore, but would not tell me that when we had this conversation. I also heard a couple of other patrons there talking about how they had snuck in additional work on their vehicles without authorization. This new management appears to be pretty shady.

Pit Stop Oil and Lube in Athens Texas treated me right. Im from Arizona moving here, and they brought me right in and did a great job on my truck!

I have been using this location for years to change the oil in our various vehicles. Its quick and the waiting area is comfortable. But my daughter recently took her vehicle and came home with a 200 dollar bill. She didnt know to say No to all the flushes and extras. We have a good mechanic shop and they keep our vehicles in top running order. I just go to Pit Shop for oil changes only. I know to say no to flushes snd other pricey sometimes unnecessary procedures.But a young woman taking care of her car for the first time, does not. I am disappointed in the tech that pulled the sales pitch to my daughter who was just trying to be responsible. I will take our vehicles in the future and continue to say no to the extras. And it is not good business practice to do this to women or men who are not knowledgeable about vehicles. Please review your sales tactics.

This facility always does a very good job on my vehicles and employees are always friendly and professional. I observed the work and noticed that a supervisor was overseeing the work being performed. I was very pleased with the work performed and the courteous employees.

Just got charged almost 100.00 for mobil one oil change. That was from less then 50.00 last time. So Was told mobil one went up. I checked prices other places and they did not go up on mobil one. They just lost my business on 4 autos. Whats more, they didnt even bother to inform of the huge jump in price before they serviced the truck.

Went in to get an inspection sticker. Was told someone would be with me and to have a seat. Waited 15 minutes and another customer, who knew the inspector, walked in and managed to get both of his cars inspected immediately. I left and went to Kelly Harris Tire on hwy 19. I was taken care of with 10 minutes, with another customer ahead of me.

Took my 2005 Ford F250 and to have the front end aligned. They quoted me 6995 to have it done. When they got through with it and I went to pay it was $91. Talk to the manager the manager was Im sorry you feel that way. He was supposed to have the district manager call me and he never did so I will never recommend Pit Stop. Im new to the area and found out how they do business beware people.

After 60 years I finally found a place that really cares and really wants and earns your business. Its all about customer service. They go the extra mile on a oil change. You get a Lube job with out asking for it. They do point out things that are getting worn out and its your option to replace or not. I have 285,000 on my GMC and cant remember the last time if ever that I replaced the fuel filter. They took the time to pull it(not easy from the ground) with out me asking . Runs a lot better now. You guys are the best. Very ProfessionalADD ON, You guys are good, but you definitely need improvement in the Brakes department. Your guys replaced ,bled my brakes and adjusted my rear pads. Still had very soft pedal action. Have to go some place else to get repaired. A good brake man should know how to check if the master cylinder is bad or identify the problem and correct.

As with all these places... They try and sell you anything that is not in good condition. I get it. Not pushy about it.. Just doing their job. Many do not do the work they get your money for... Like change transmission fluid or they will rub dirt on your clean filter and say yours is very dirty... ALWAYS WATCH THEM CLOSELY IF YOU CAN. Watch YouTube videos on these places... About 2 in 10 will scam you. These guys seem to care. Hope they are doing as good of job as they get paid for and not rip off people.

Fast and friendly service at a reasonable price. The employees are (usually) more than willing to answer any questions you might have.Recently had an issue with the check engine light coming on after they changed the oil and cleaned the injector system on our vehicle. When we took it back they got it right in and checked the codes. While theres nothing they could do, they suggested we take it to the dealership and if any repairs were needed they would stand behind their work and pay for them.

I always come here when i make my trips to Athens to visit family. They can be busy at times but im always impressed with how efficient they are at getting people in and out quickly! Also the manager is super helpful with explaining car stuff.

Today I went to get an alignment. I pulled up and no one came to my car. I got out and went in. I waited but no one came inside. I went back out to my car and stood there. Several of the guys working on one truck saw me but never said anything. Finally after about 10 mins, a young walked to me and said can I help you. I asked for my alignment. He said I would go after they finish another car. I said ok, I am going to walk to the post office. I came back with an invoice on the dashboard. I thought it was done. I said there is no way it is done. They said we were waiting in the keys. I told the young man they were in the car. I asked the manager why no one was friendly. He said the young man asked can he help you. I said after 10 mins. So I got my alignment. They pulled my car to the side and did not even tell me it was done. I waited to see how long they would make me wait. I went inside and the said oh it just got done. Really. I walked to my car passing an employee. He did not say thank you or have a nice day. During this time businesses should be extra nice. We could all be in the house giving you no business. I am very disappointed in my experience today. I will not be back.

We pulled up and asked if they could change the oil on our Mercedes. I was told there were 4 cars in front of us and they would have to pull it in to find out. I pulled the info online and went to their ticket writer and told him the brand they use filter number. He them advised me he would need to go down stairs to look as he grabbed his clipboard to go write up another customer. So i would have waited for 5 cars to get serviced for them to pull my car in and tell me they couldnt change the oil because they did not have the oil filter.

They made me park and then let 2 people who got there after me in first even though I told them. The manager told the employees to pull my car in first but the employees didnt listen and pulled the other cars in first. If they are busy they need to track who arrives 1st better! I wont go there again! So unprofessional!
