I really love this location in Asheville. It actually seemed more like a grocery store versus a high-end specialty market. The staff was very helpful. I recommend a bistro meal from any of the locations.

Always clean and good meats and products kind workers.

Did not have a good experience today. Went for quiches - 1 was out & date was old asked a young male if there was he did bring out quiche Lorraine but never asked me what I was looking for.Then bought a box of 3 chocolate croissants. Got home & noticed the date & croissant was old - through them out. This is not the only time I have gotten old dessert.There is no great service & no one paying attention at this location.

Of the three items I went to purchase, I left with one. One only came in pre-prepared food, without enough to meet my needs and at a high price, and they didnt sell any of those ingredients fresh. The other was a small quantity and commercially grown with pesticides which was expensive and I knew I could get organic for less somewhere else, so I did.

A great little market in North Avl that can hook you up with all the good stuff you cant find at the larger chain stores. They have awesome produce and meat selections, and the key lime yogurt pretzels are addictive.

Freak Market is my go to for meats. They run great sales and have quality products. The bakery is great. The delis wings and other offerings have been very good. Service has always been good. No complaints.

Justus, in the deli department, restored my faith in god. I have never encountered such a graceful young gentleman in my life. The way he danced among my requests was like poetry. He made me feel safe. He made me feel appreciated. Justus was served on this very day. Thank you, Justus, for your amount of kindness that poured from your soul to mine can never be returned. Protect this man, and he will forever be in your debt. The chicken wings were great.

I always love it here. I have find memories of shopping here as a child and getting a cookie and a tiny coffee sample with lots of sugar. The store is always permeated with the scent of coffee, and they have a lot of organic/natural/vegan foods. They also do a great meal deal on Mondays.

Good place for meat and seafood but definitely higher priced than most grocery stores. Be careful with the meat though, they sometimes source from Australia and other foreign countries.

Lots of tasty options & finds that you cant always find anywhere else. Its been a favorite since childhood.

Anthony was a huge help with us in the meat department. He was patient with us, made great recommendations, and was so friendly!

I love this place. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and there are just so many things you cant get anywhere else. The chicken salad here is literally the only chicken salad I will buy. Great selection of whole coffee beans, fresh cheeses, olives, meats, deli and lunch items. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the quality is always spot on.

The Fresh Market doesnt have the pizazz that it once had. They carry many of the same brands that you can find at other lower prices grocery stores, at twice the price! Used to be a fun place to shop, but its overpriced sticker shock nowadays.

I love the selection of products that they carry. I especially love my dearly beloved Mills River Creamery milk that they carry. It will keep me coming back everytime.

The Fresh Market is spotless, well-stocked and full of fancy foods, coffee, beer & wine, awesome rotisserie, and freshly butchered meats. Plus, the store smells like warm chocolate croissants.

Yesterday I visited the Asheville location on Merrimon Ave on was pleased they had added the Norwegian Ski Queen goat cheese I has inquired avout.

Although I dont buy many groceries, Ive been going to Fresh Market on Merrimon for nearly twenty years. Ive had consistently good service and the quality of produce is the best Ive encountered. Its not a large store, so the choices are constricted, but they have most things I need and its all high quality. Ive never found any out-dated merchandise as I have at competitors. I particularly appreciate their use of face masks and their suggestions to customers that they do so. I feel safer there than at some competitors.

One of the nicest grocery stores Ive been to ever. Amazing selection of meats and fish. Huge produce section and lots of specialty and healthy options. Be prepared to spend but its well worth it!!!

Love the fresh market! I go there every Tuesday looking for good deals on fresh meat and fruit. The store is always so clean and has a nice atmosphere.

After visiting two other grocery stores, was finally able to finish shopping for the week. With a modified keto diet, some cooking ingredients are more difficult to find. Nevertheless, The Fresh Market was reliable to find what was needed. This store is always clean and well organized.

Live the best bratwurst and sausage around

I have started going to the fresh market recently and couldnt be happier until last week. I came to the store and was stopped by the front personnel stating that I will be making customers uncomfortable by not wearing a mask. I have asked staff if it was mandatory and was told it wasnt. Half of the customers were wearing scarfs on their faces, which were not covering their nose (not sure how that would help). I have also noticed people touching their masks, touching everything else (not sure how that would help either). At the check out register the cashier wouldnt take care of me, due to no mask on my face. Ended up standing in the other line for another 10 minutes before could leave. I do spend on average 200-300 $ a week on groceries. Time to take my business somewhere else, good buy fresh market.

Great place to pickup a special pickup of items. Not a large selection but they have some rare finds for diet specific things.

I shop here often, the staff are helpful and friendly. Not much at all in the way of vegan prepared, frozen or pastry type options. The parking lot is used as a cut through from a neighborhood street to a main road, twice I have narrowly avoided cars flying through without stopping or slowing. It would be great if something could be done to slow things down.

I love everything in here except the prices. That being said, some things are quite reasonable too. I go in 2 times a week just for an excellent chocolate croissant - only 1.79!! - and a good cup of coffee. I also always buy their own brand fruit jams. Excellent flavor in those and NO corn syrup products, just plain old sugar as it should be; not cheap but not crazy priced. There are sales happening weekly as well and i tend to have to utilize the sales in this store. Their bulk coffee is some of the best around and they have organic coffee too. Unfortunately there is no area inside for sitting 😡

A great store concept. Its somewhat like going back in time, but better! Its like visiting your hometown Fresh Market. The store offers a butcher shop, with a wide selection of fresh meats, a gourmet prepared meals selection, an excellent international cheese selection, a wonderful bakery, offering bakery fresh breads, pastries, pies and other delightful treats, the staff need to be trained better. They are not informed about their products. The store is clean and organized. The store is crowded and tight and sometimes difficult to move around the store. The prices are moderate to high. If you are seeking a store for price value, go to Aldis or Wal-Mart.The Fresh Market is more about enjoying a shopping experience. We mainly shop there to find different food items, that other stores do not offer. Plus, we enjoy the shopping experience.

Specifically came in for a Mediterranean wrap that I know they make and they said they font have it. Woman working there copped an attitude with me and they refused to make it. I will never go to this horrible establishment again. Its called customer service. Step up to the damn plate. Screw this place

I absolutely love visiting this store! I always come here for my meat and seafood! Caleb, the manager of the meat department, is phenomenal and his crew is amazing. The produce manager is great as well. All the staff at this location are happy and upbeat, it is very refreshing.

I always love going to fresh market. This place has always got some of the best and neatest breads I have ever tasted. Just today got a neat focaccia bread. This place has also got some rather mouth watering fruit desserts or for those who want a sinfully delicious one or decadent they do that to with chocolates and such.

This is a nice store albeit a bit small with limited selection. The biggest issue is that the prices are a bit too high.

Best store in town to find premium foods.

I love this store, but come on! I just had the least satisfying Deli lunch deal in a long time. Be a little more generous for the prices you charge

Love our Merrimon Avenue Fresh Market in North Asheville! We only buy organic and Fresh Market has increased their organic offerings over the past few years (and often have great specials on organic items which helps save $.) They also have unique organic items that I often have trouble finding locally. Staff are friendly and helpful, love the smaller grocery feel (over warehouse size stores!) and its just an enjoyable shopping experience : )

Good quality products but staff is rude and unhelpful.

I walked in the place and immediately felt too poor to be there. I went in for groceries while Im in town for a few days. Everything is very expensive. But I did get a good deal on chicken breasts, they were $2.99/lb and it seems like thats the price of them every Tuesday! It was some really good chicken, too. Cooked up real nice. It was kind of hard to find things, though. I spent a solid five minutes looking for parmesan. Maybe Im just used to the one store I go to back home, but its just not labeled too well and the way its laid out doesnt make too much sense. I loved the food I got from here - very fresh! Just... pricey. Understandably so.

Please hire staff that enjoys people and doesnt treat them like peons. Some of your staff need to comb their hair and bathe. Men with facial hair, man buns and dreads should be wearing hair nets or some kind of covering for the hair. Prices could come down some. Food is good.

Good snacks. Better than most snacks. I enjoy the clusters. The snack bins might have had hungry hands out in them so select a better choice. Life got better with the clusters.

Just moved here. It is a typical older small FM store, easy in and out, and plenty of selection. Meat dept. and butchers are great.

Like to go for the fresh baked goods. Good seafood selection and can find unique foods.

No fresh or frozen scallops at SEAFOOD COUNTER. And they were out of the Avocado Cheese - we drove from Canton and were quite disappointed. Went across the street to Ingalls where nice young man was happy to sell us scallops we wanted.

Stuff all over the floor, bumpy tiles that make it a headache to push the cart, stuff out of stock and insanely overpriced.

I try to come see you guys every day for a cup of coffee, your coffee stand game is pretty slack right now. Your brews are obviously better than starbucks, who is right across the street, in both flavor and price. Nearly everyday there will either be 3 vats of empty coffee containers and the last 1 full of decaf, or 2 of 4 are decaf, or all 4 be flavored varieties. I have literally waited 25 minutes for a cup of coffee, and some folks just want a normal coffee flavored brew on a regular basis. Regardless of all this I still buy your coffee almost everyday and clearly so do many other people, judging by the common lack of coffee. Please help!

So supportive of our community and the schools! Bakery dept and managers were so wonderful helping us with a school related event. Wednesday dinner deals are awesome for great price!

Great selection and reasonable prices. But because of the poor service by the cashier my husband says he wont go back! He made us feel like we were an inconvenience. I will try again to see if I can get better service.

I remember when I first walked into this store. It was in ‘99. The ambiance, especially around the holidays, was top notch and something no other store could match. That’s what set it apart. My sister and I use to set aside a time and date to meet up, shop, drink coffee and feel good while walking around in The Fresh Market. It was a highlight of our week bc it just felt so good to be inside this store around excellent customer service, the wonderful food products and the experience, the warm glowing lights, the smells and the courteous service, was unmatched. Long gone are those days! Now it’s just way over priced and almost arrogantly so with some items you can knowingly get elsewhere for a much much lower price. It’s as if they’re charging for convenience. Ridiculous ! ... and the customer service...long gone! It’s near irritating to even go to the deli anymore, the service is horrible! $3.00 for a single serving of mashed potatoes, wth! ... I don’t know what’s happened in the nearly 20 years since or what they’ve done to make it so terrible but I shop there very rarely these days. Sad, I miss the good ole days ... the music, aromatics, courteous service and quality products...all long gone ! If your a newcomer, then you’ll never know how it once was. Bring back the Real Fresh Market, how it used to be!
