For me personally my first time piercing. It was fast and easy very sanitary. And the time was perfect , highly suggest going here for any piercing needs !!

Had a friend come into town for a birthday and so I decided to surprise her with a tattoo appointment. Not only did they have good availability, but they were also super accommodating to our limited schedule since my friend had to leave the next night. I don’t remember the young woman at the front’s name but she’s doing an awesome job with screening people at the door and giving info! Carlos was our artist and let me just say that he’s one of the few genuine people I’ve ever met. Yes, his line work was amazing and the tattoos turned out exactly how we wanted them, but it’s the socialization and the comfort that he established that kind of blows me away any time I meet someone like him. He was super professional and funny which is hard to do for some. I highly, highly recommend this place and Carlos for any and all tattoos you might want. I’ll be returning for sure!Update: just left the shop again for another tattoo & this time I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Deuce. He provided just as amazing work as I got the first time I came here. He made sure the tattoo was to my liking and as perfect as he could get it. Super cool and genuine dude.

I was with my friend when she got her first tattoo and they were the nicest people, the tattoo ended up taking longer than expected but the artist took him time to make sure it was good, great service and will definitely be back soon

If you dont have the time for a customer, thats fine. But dont tell someone youll have time to do a piercing for them in half an hour, then when they come back after that half hour make them wait an ADDITIONAL hour. We walked out. Maybe their work is good, but their time management is poor.

Went in yesterday and got a tattoo with Chris. All I can say is wow. This is definitely top notch work. Super cool guy and was super cool to talk with during the 4+ hrs it took. Super happy I made the decision to come to this shop. All around everyone who works there are super chill. I went with a realism tattoo which Chris absolutely knocked out of the park but he is super talented at a variety of styles from looking at his portfolio. Safe to say I’ll be coming back for another tat very soon

Went to get my first tattoo here with my buddy on July 10th. Visiting Asheville from Pittsburgh. The tattoo artist, Deuce was excellent not only in putting his own touches on the tattoo design, but also adding a few things. The tattoo took from start to finish 4 hrs. Prices were very reasonable, and everyone was very nice and chill. If youd want a tattoo Id definitely recommend this tattoo shop and the tattoo artist Deuce! He even gave me pointers on how to take care of it when I had questions after I left. Couldnt be more happy with the finished project! If Im ever in Asheville again Ill definitely come back for another tattoo!

If you want to do a walk in appointment, try to get there between 12 and 3, weekdays are less busy. After that they fill up quickly. No appointments can be made over the phone. Good prices, great artists. You can usually go in and talk to an artist directly for a quote. Cash only, they do have an ATM.

Went in with an exact design I wanted for a tattoo and made an appointment with Deuce for the next day. I had to wait a while to get it but it was absolutely worth it. I went to this shop because another shop in town was very rude to me and i was very pleasantly surprised.The staff is very nice, the shop is clean and inviting, and Chris is super nice. He was EXTREMELY busy but he still took the time to change out jewlery for my daughter and myself and He was very sweet to talk w/ my daughter (an apiring artist) about the art of tattooing.Hands down best experience and will recommend to friends and family.

My two friends and I went to get tattoos here and it was an amazing experience! Deuce was our artist and he made sure that we were all comfortable throughout the entire process. He also made sure everything was clean, he washed his hands and wiped down his station every time he started a new tattoo which was really nice to see! Deuce is the man! This was my first tattoo, and he made the whole experience super simple and exciting. It took a while to get the font just right, but he was patient and understanding. He knew it was my first tattoo, so he went easy on me. Definitely will come back the next time Im in Asheville.

Got three piercings from Chris as a walk in, very quality work and an environment both professional and laid back at the same time. A friend has had two great tattoos from here, so would recommend for piercings and ink.

They charge way too much. Go anywhere else. They dont even charge per hour, you have to pay up front before the work is even done. Was there for one hour for $200. And they cant seem to do any designs that are very involved. Wont be back.

Deuce did a wonderful job and was very accommodating. Definitely recommend this shop as well as Deuce. Next time I come Asheville, I will definitely come back here.

Chris did an awesome job on continuing my realism sleeve. I have a lot of tattoos and i am very picky when comes to putting something permanent on my body. Chris nailed my tattoo with the ideas and pics i brought him. I have full trust in chriss tattooing. I usually dont leave reviews but feel that Chris really deserves it. Thank you Chris I will definitely be back for more tattoos.

I had a tattoo done here by Carlos. The tattoo was designed by me and had a lot of straight lines. I was worried about that and asked if he was good with straight lines and if he could do it he responded with oh yeah no problem if anyone can do it its him blah blah blah. he did the tattoo and its not at all straight or even lines its skinny in some areas, fat in others. the shading is blotchy and not even fully filled in. Im now going to a better shop and trying to get it fixed by someone capable.all of this is understandable, however one part of the tattoo he did completely wrong even after i told him thats not supposed to be there dont add that please no problem i understand he says. but then proceeded to mess it up. The over all experience wasnt even great. not very friendly people and i didnt feel welcome. I regret not doing more research and finding someone more capable.

Came in Saturday for a rose hand piece and a forearm piece. Darian is the absolute best! I’ve had several tattoos done but this is my first at Aacross the Skin. The whole vibe of the shop was awesome. During the consult Darian talked over the pros and cons of the placement of my tattoos and what to expect. During the session he had amazing attention to detail. The best rose I’ve ever seen tattoo or otherwise! Darian is amazing, Aacross the Skin and Darian in particular have a customer for life, I will be coming back again and again! 5 stars is not high enough!

I had such a positive experience at this tattoo shop! Today was my first time visiting. The whole place and staff are very cleanly and professional. One guy in there doesn’t even know what’s up or down. And says he’ll fix it for free and then wants to charge you afterwards. EVERYONE!!! please just go to Rising Sparrow on Tunnel rd. You might be waiting for an appointment but it’s definitely worth the wait because it’s going to be on you forever.

Chris was subpar. When he actually puts the ink & needle to the skin, his work is clean. That is not to say his artistic techniques are good. He relies too much on his tablet thing, and he tried altering my design.

Had an absolute amazing experience with guys down at Across the Skin. Christopher Wilkins did a phenomenal job on a realism tattoo of my Rottweiler. Absolutely blown away, definitely will be going back!! Highly recommend stopping in and letting them do you a favor!

Overall a bad experience. I went in to get new jewelry for my conch piercing. The piercer seemed uninterested and preoccupied with doing a tattoo. He wasn’t really open to suggesting anything except the standard captive bead ring. The girl working the front desk was more help. Definitely won’t go back.

Chris was awesome to work with, and Darion was hilarious to be around. They talk you through everything and are amazing people, who take pride in their work and are extremely skilled. I cant recommend them enough, because they did a stellar job! 5/5 stars!

I went in on a whim needing a tattoo done that incorporated my daughters birth. That artist darian he was absolutely fantastic he took my ideas and created a piece of art for me I will definitely make the drive to personally see him again.

DO NOT get a tattoo from Carlos if you go here. He will rush your tattoo, act like its a hassle for him, and even added stuff that I didnt even ask for onto it. Super unwelcoming and it seems like hes got some emotional problems he’s bringing with him into his workplace.. Im also gonna have to get it touched up cause the free handing he did is uneven along with the shading.

I had an INCREDIBLY wonderful experience here. Id been planning a tattoo for awhile, but spontaneously decided to get it while I was on vacation in NC and found this great place. Alex was super welcoming and took the design that I brought in and recreated it so that it fit my body perfectly and was more simple and graceful. It was exactly what I wanted. It was also my first tattoo ever, and Alex was very calming and very excited to create this beautiful piece of work for me. He was super respectful and very careful to make sure I was comfortable since the tattoo was directly under my bust line. Im so happy I chose this shop and Im so happy Alex was the one there to create this beautiful tattoo for me. I couldnt be happier, and Ill probably make plans to go back up and have Alex do any future tattoos for me!

My mom and I recently had our mother/daughter tats done here! Very pleased with our piece! We talked with Carlos about what we wanted, gave him a couple pictures to go with, and he designed our tat perfectly. We made no changes to his design because it was exactly what we were looking for. He was very confident with his work and never sighed upon our ideas! This made us very comfortable with using him as our artist. Thanks a bunch Carlos!

Absolutely flawless line work and shading. Brandon was funny and very welcoming, he was respectful (the tattoo I had done was on my upper thigh) and he made sure I felt comfortable with where he had to put his hands to tattoo. He inspected each needle with a magnifying glass to make sure they were sterile, safe & good to use. By far the most sanitary place Ive ever been tattooed/pierced at. All the staff that I met was kind, funny and genuine. I also bought jewelry and had my nose pierced, and all my experiences there were AMAZING. I would highly recommend!

I just went and got my nose pierced today and it was such an amazing experience! The staff were extremely nice and professional! The parlor was clean and sterile. The piercer was extremely nice and hilarious! She helped calmed my nerves and explained the whole process step by step. I would highly recommend going here for piercings and tattoos!

Took my 17 year old daughter in for a cartilage ear pierce. There were plenty of polite folks in there that wanted to please us. Tattoo artist Brandon did the piercing after a very short wait. He had an excellent attitude, and judging by how efficient he was at his art, I would say he has had a lot of practice. He let my daughter approve the mark in the mirror before he needled her ear. Overall, a very good experience in a town with no shortage of options. Check this place out!

I went into the shop to get my nose pierced and was greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. Brandon did my piercing and did a great job! I barely felt a thing! Not to mention the price was very reasonable! I will definitely go back for future piercings or tattoos.

I got my first tattoo yesterday and I cannot say enough about how awesome the experience was. From the very beginning everyone was so welcoming and Alex walked me through the whole process and really made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. He is a seriously talented artist and very personable so he made feel extremely comfortable. The tattoo came out better than I even expected and if I ever get another one Ill definitely be going back to see Alex!

Had a brief call with Alex earlier today, he told me to come in later. When I did, we came up with a great idea for my first tattoo within 10 minutes and he was ready to do it. Sometimes you can find really good deals here and usually the clothes are pretty consistent and price but to me 4 things that were given to them they charge an outrageous price. One time I was looking at this really neat vase there they wanted $5 for it and I thought that that was reasonable and I flipped the vase over and on the bottom of it it had a $3 Dollar Store tag what the hell man

I was looking for a shop that does piercings in Asheville. I had received a piercing in previous years, but did not want to use that business again, so of course I did a search via google and Aacross The Skin Tattoo Shop was one of my choices. Based on the reviews, this is who I went with. They were excellent, from the initial phone call I made prior to walking in, until they finished my piercings. Everyone was friendly and they made me feel very comfortable. They talked with me about what to expect and the aftercare... and to add to it, they offer aftercare services. Sweet deal. I would definitely recommend them.

Amazing tattoo studio with great, friendly artists who care about the work they put out. Very sterile and super clean all around. They take their time with everything and do a good job. My friends and I were there for a Friday the 13th special event which is usually a very limited selection but they actually let you bring in a custom design within a certain size. The other thing is that our tattoo artist Darian did a great job on all our pieces and did a great job making a couple of our friends who were getting tattoos for the first time feel comfortable. Im definitely coming back here the next time Im in Asheville.

The place is a little harder to find since its located behind the Metro PCS store. Its smaller but clean and open (except for the actual artists spaces). Went in and was immediately greeted for a free consultation by Carlos, who patiently listened to my idea for my next piece. We were able to schedule an appointment in the next 2 days. On appointment day, the piece he showed me wasnt what I went in thinking of, but was better and made more sense. The final art is beautifully done and I am beyond thrilled with it!!!!!! Carlos is amazing. He has great humor and is incredibly talented. Will definitely be going back for my future inkwork!

Friendly folks! I got 2 cartilage piercings and felt very comfortable and welcome. It was clean, quick, and everyone was very professional. Plus Chevi the Chihuahua was the bomb.

Been looking all day for an excellent place to get my tattoo done at and I so happened to walk into the BEST shop in Asheville! Brandon did an outstanding job on my realistic roses on my shoulder/arm. Everyone was really nice and you really get a good vibe from the place. Good consulting and great prices. I felt at ease the whole 3 1/2 hours sitting in the chair having great conversations with everyone. I will be going back to Brandon (or anyone their for that matter) for all my future tattoo. I got the industrial ear piercing done just last night and I love it. It hurt a lot less then my sister told me it would. But shes never had kids lol.. But they did great! VERY clean and Nice! I love that I can go back and buy a new cute bar and them change it for free for me! Thank you so much!! Also got my first tattoo there a few years ago and they where just as good then. I will keep going there for all my tattoo and piercing needs!!
