I am super disappointed. This store has completely gone down hill. I made sure I walked the whole store, walked every aisle, not once was I asked if I needed help. Four employees walked by me and I was ignored everytime. I also stood in the main aisle to be seen and nobody asked. Not only that product was just thrown on shelfs or spots are still empty. Mostly every aisle was blocked, obviously they had just gotten their truck but never have I seen it where you cant walk down a aisle in any store! I decided not give my rewards number and I wasnt even asked if I wanted to sign up. My bag also ripped before I even got to my car. The changes to this store itself, products and the staff that is currently working here is just a disgrace to what ace is known for.

Get there to deal with employees with poor attitudes to be told we dont have it.Im blown away that people give this place a positive review.If you enjoy visiting a place that doesnt care about Covid protocols (no masks and employees with coughing attacks), not having things listed online as in stock, and being treated like you are a nuisance for trying to be a customer .... This is the place for you!

Dropped off two old screens to be repaired and replaced. I went in to pick them up and they tried to give me the wrong screens. I told them that those are incorrect and to fix it. I few days later I come back and received the correct screens. I take them home and the new screen wasn’t even close to the original size.I brought the new screen back and told them I wanted to return it and get my old screen back so I could just do it my self. The sales associate went to talk to the manager and they lost my original screen.How do you screw up a screen when the customer brings it in to you? How irresponsible do you have to be to loose it?

I have been using this ACE for years but in the last year or so all the more experienced help is not there a bunch of young kids don’t know what they are doing and trying to get help is almost near impossible. Sad to say now I have no choice but to go on to the LARGE Chain stores. Was a great run but time for a change

3 years ago I would have given this place a solid 5 stars but recently the customer service and the availability of small hardware pieces have gotten so bad that I forgo stopping here and drive twice as far to the big box stores to get what I need. I used to visit this location twice a week to get small pieces for assembling classic cars or plumbing around the house etc. The stock on the shelves has gotten horrible. There’s hardly ever everything I need which necessitates a trip to another store to finish my project. Several drawers on the plumbing isle have been empty for months. Same with the electrical isle. To make matters worse one of the managers has lost all touch with customer service. I’m there so frequently that I typically will smile as I walk in and say hello to the folks that I recognize. This girl would rather turn the other way than to share a smile. Usually she scowls. I bought a soldering iron several months ago and after letting it warm up for more than 30 minutes it still would not melt solder. I took it back to the store about an hour after I bought it with my receipt in hand. Explained that it’s not getting hot enough. She grabbed it out of my hand went back into the glass cutting area and proceeded to melt plastic with it. I explained that it is getting hot but not hot enough and she handed it back to me and said that it’s working fine. I now have a non working soldering iron in my cabinet. The reason I’m writing today is because I feel guilty bypassing the small shop on my way to the big box store and I realized that I owe the owner at least an explanation as to why he’s lost my business.

I had a pretty bad experience at Ace on Sheridan regarding customer service and the employees not being able to figure out very simple things. I gave 2 stars because after I asked for a discount they gave me 5% off, which amounted to $4, after they wasted 4 hours of my time.I called in the morning to ask about getting a car key programmed, one employee told me they had reserved the key with my name on it behind the key counter. I showed up around 2 o clock and it took them a good 45 minutes to just find the key. I was dealing with 2 employees who seemed clueless as to what I was talking about, one who I talked to that morning. I finally got a 3rd employee to find the key I reserved, which was sitting on the desk in the back right next to the computer.I was not too frustrated at that point but then I ended up spending another few hours waiting for one guy to try and figure out how to program my key and he couldn’t even get it done at the end of the day. He made it seem like he could talk to his manager and give me a big discount if I came back later. I called the next business day and they said the best they could do was give me 5% discount which was a total of 4 dollars. After wasting 4 hours of my time I went to a McGuckins and they did it in 20 minutes for the same price. Ridiculous.

Its a smaller Ace Hardware but they still have most everything you cant find at the big box stores. Customer service is always top notch, being greeted upon entering and immediately directing you to the aisle you need. So great to have someone close to ask for advice and the friendliest cashier ever.

Always able to help, but have to watch the price change for in demand items

Mitch was so incredibly helpful. We bought a new faucet and needed help connecting some of the plumbing from the new faucet to the existing plumbing. First he recommended something simple, went home and it sadly did not work. We went back and he helped us make something from various parts that he was confident would work. Sure enough it did and now we have a brand new working faucet. They know what they’re doing and provide great customer service.

Update: The response from this store is simply lip-service. Service continues to be horrible. NOONE 8s helpful. If Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks, this Ace didnt get the memo.This store is hit or miss. Sometimes someone asks if I need assistance. Or someone is available if I have questions. And other times the only person Im able to speak to is the cashier. I like their inventory of hardware / nuts & bolts. Pretty typical neighborhood hardware store.

They had what I need but I had good visit and bad visit in same week so not sure what to think orher then if I need something and in neighborhood ill probably stop by

Needed odd bolts. As usual, staff VOLUNTEERED to help me find!Home Depot i ALWAYS have to stalk and trap help, which 9/10 times doesnt even speak intelligible english (or pretends not to) or says not my dept. I think it actually cost less at ace too, which surprised me.It was nice to have some actual customer service at ace...at least this branch.

Needed to get a new lock for my bedroom door these guys were about the only ones open and that didnt have a line out the door

I wasnt aware it was closed today. 1.1.21 New Years Day. I was picking up a order. Walking away to my car, the only staff member opened up and gave me my order saving me another trip. Now thats customer service, going out of their way for us! Outstanding marks!!!!!

Crazy aggressive customer service never seen anything like it literally chasing me around the store to help me what turn off I would have made a purchase if I could of got a second to actually look thumbs down forsure I was asked 5 times what I was looking for and twice by the same guy I couldnt even tell he worked there I can say that wont happen again

Very poor customer service on August 23rd 2020. When asking for help, store associates relied on the method of pointing and gesturing towards an aisle. Had to specifically ask for more assistance to get the associates to actually help find a hard to find item. This is the first Ace store I’ve had to be so persistent about asking for help. Other locations way better and associates ask “how can I help” as soon as you walk in, and then actually help.

Had an unsettling experience at this ACE. This place must have new management, witnessed a manager verbally harassing a younger employee right in front of me. Bad vibes recently....lol

This truly is the helpful place. I love going to this hardware store because staff is always so friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it seems you pay a little bit higher prices to shop here vs. a larger store. Its worth it to pay a bit more for great customer service though, in my opinion!

My only advice is when you are in The Nut and Bolt section make sure the bolt that you pull out of the package is the bolt that belongs in the Box because people look them up then throw them back anywhere they can.Just get help when youre in there so you dont buy the wrong part and have to drive 45 minutes back to return it because somebody didnt put the bolt right in the right box. GERRR.Good customer service.

Figure out how to handle your business. I have called your store 3x today, and you cant figure out how to take my call. The other Ace stores at least checked my product. Seriously, you put me on hold 3x and hung up 3x. Ill never get that 15 minutes back & Youll never get my business. Your the closest store to me and your hardware section is not even ordered yet, or just depleted. Its annoying I pass you on the way home from work, then have to pass my house to shop all the way up in Thornton just to get what I need. Just close if you cant figure it out, your ruining the brand.

Found impossible to find parts

Cluttered and missing a lot of things. Not a very good selection of hardware. Everything is locked up and you have to find someone to get just about anything. The store is clean though and the people are really friendly.

Weeks back I went in to get a duplicate car key. The young man was new at the key making. He kept grinding on my key and when I went out to try to start my car, the key wouldnt work. A man came out, an employee, and said all I had to do was play around with the key. Put the key in the ignition, pull it out, oh, ever so slightly. Well that was wrong and now Im lucky, really lucky, to get the key to work at all. Now its grinding and they store takes no responsibility for this mess..im not sure what to do at this point because I sure cant afford to hire a lock Smith. I am a disabled senior citizen and being able to get around in my car is priceless to me. It was my freedom. Shame on them. Pam Lowe

I have been going here for 20 years. It is a good local store.

I went in today to pickup a couple items needed for a repair. as I was checking out the reader was giving an error when I put my card in and the lady comes over takes my card and tries but fails as well. after she failed I asked if she was able to over ride so my card could be swiped And she said no. then she told me that I obviously couldnt pay for my item and I would have to come back with cash. I walked out and went to Lowes got the same items payed with the same card and payed $20 less for those items. I will never shop Ace hardware again not should anyone else. rude

I go to this Ace when I need a quick trip or if I need a question answered. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. If they dont know the answer, they will find the person that does. Speedy sized store and the prices arent bad.

Ace is great! Preferred over home depot for special screws and bolts etc plus free popcorn and a post office. I also fill my propane here.

Purchased a clearance item. I was ensured by the cashier I could return it. I asked several times. Turns out it didnt fit and tried to return it.I was told you cant return clearance items. Manager did not have authority to make this right. Stated the new owner has taken a hardline stance on this. Disappointed the owner doesnt empower their employees to provide customer service or educate the employees on their policies. Especially on something less than $15.Second problem. I called ahead to ask if they have an item and was told they do. Between the person that answered the phone and the employee that confirmed the item an important detail wasnt conveyed. Turns out they didnt actually have it. Time wasted.

I go to Ace primarily for motorcycle nuts, and other crazy modifications. They always have someone to help, and always find what I need. I think I spent 8 minutes in the store today. It is so much easier than a warehouse store!

Ordered a sprinkler part to pick up from this store as their website said it was available for same day pickup. I received an email the next morning that the store did not have the part but as a “courtesy” to me they were going to ship the part to that same store. I received an email the following day that the part was not in inventory and that my order was cancelled.I went from thinking I was getting same day pick up to wasting nearly 2 days only to find out they don’t have it. Probably not this direct location’s fault, but now I still have a broken sprinkler and have to start over to find the part.

All I needed was a key. What I got was immediate attention, super fast service, smiles, and laughs. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such superior customer service anywhere. I will be back.

Excellent Service keeps me returning. For instance; brought a used dishwasher took it home, took a few digital photos of my water sources & the fitting off machine. I asked knowing hunting thru a plumbing aisle is a bummerAnyway a few minutes later with no assistance he says; I got it..think its onT the next aisle over( a simple 3 way spliced) explained that under my sink was 2 shutoff vales turn one off & unscrew line to faucet , (side mount to machine) reconnect the faucet

Ace really is the helpful hardware place! The staff is always willing to answer questions and give advice. I went in this morning to purchase a metric socket for my socket set. Rick was helping me and saw that they didnt have the size I needed. I told him I was just trying to get something inexpensive that I could use to put license plates on my vehicle. Rick told me I didnt need to purchase anything because he was happy to put the license plates on for me. Cant get much better service than that!!!!! Ill be back anytime (and every time) I need tools or hardware.

After 15 or so visits, Im giving up on this Ace. Its not very good.Its a small store, and the selection is extremely limited. When they do have something, they have one of it so if youre trying to get edging or anything, you cant.Ive gone in there week for several weeks, sometimes a couple times a day, yet there is no familiarity there. All the employees are goldfish, both in memory and personality. Its a small store, yet no one seems to know where anything is or what they have in stock. I feel like I know the store better than they do.Theyre also unhelpful. The guy who mixed my paint know nothing beyond the very general marketing material of the paint. I dont think hes painted a room in his life or talked to anyone with any experience. He also incorrectly advised me that any paint swatch could be made with any brand of paint. That didnt go so well. There are two types of employees at this Ace, old and grumpy, angry bitter people who dislike other humans, chatting, smiling or being helpful, and clique of high school stoners that couldnt were too slow to get the coveted lazy cinema jobs and wanted to avoid fast food.There is always an issue with the coupons, and other than it being close, there is no connection to anything local, no feel of a local hardware shop and almost as frequently as I come here, my next stop is a box store to get what this Ace didnt have. Im done torturing myself with these people. Other than it being close, there is not anything positive about this place.

I hope they have different people working there, because when I was there customer service was nonexistent. When I asked for help, I was treated like I was imposing on them and a bother. They also couldn’t answer my questions because they didn’t know. I would drive further to a different location.

Was told to just go to another store for what i wanted. Like a whole different chain of stores. Which i guess is helpful in its own way. But eventually just found what i needed.But the constant following around every isle and asking if i need help even tho i stated that i was okay was a bit much... it just felt like i was profiled. But what do i know. Im just the guy who needed brad nails.

Always my first choice, since I grew up with a local mom & pop hardware store, and the owners were neighbors of ours. My Daddy started visiting this location, and I now head there for first dibs. Friendly, helpful staff, which I learned from past experience, love the description of an old neighborhood hardware store. Those are the good ones, even if you dont walk out with the item you were looking for - youll walk out with suggestions, verification of in stock at another location, or (at the very least), usually a smile and a little warm fuzzies from the conversation.

Their cc chip reader did not work. The clerk said this is a known problem. She would not swipe my card or enter the number manually and refused to sell the $80 item to me. Ive shopped here for 6 years, but doubt Ill ever go back after this experience. She literally asked me to pay cash to save the effort of entering my credit card number manually.
