They did not use the brake fluid I provided. They used all the other parts I provided. I thought I was very clear about providing the brake fluid when I scheduled my appointment on the phone. So now I spent $55 for a brake fluid flush and new brake fluid... for absolutely nothing.Called them on the phone and all I got was excuses with no offer to help. Be careful.

These guys rock! Towed there at midnight with either a totally dead battery that wouldnt jump or a toasted alternator. I was expecting a $500 bill for an alternator but paid 180 for a new battery and an alternator test for free! they confirmed the battery was totally shot and explained it was running at anoir 10% power, while the alternator is running at basically a perfect 100?%. In and out very fast, very nice, 10 out of 10. Any other car problems i have im going here!

I Had my car towed here because it kept dying. They called me and said it needed 3 things to make my car run for about $900. I had a feeling they were lying. They WERE!! I called my mechanic at Grand Oaks in Howell. Turns out all my car needed was a mass air flow system. Costs me $270 at Grand Oaks!DONT go here they will rip you off. They NEVER even mentioned a mass air flow intake thing as part of what I needed!!! CRIMMINAL the lot of them! NOT HONEST!!!

I’ve been going to these guys for years, they charge way less than most of the places around Ann Arbor and they do the repairs quickly. They do the diagnostic for free (another place tried to charge me $120 for that) and they’ve done a couple of small repairs for free as well. I’ve had bad experiences at other places but never with them. They’re very honest and really know cars.

These guys are the best. Fixed our five-year old Infinity when the dealership wouldnt. Ahmad and the mechanics immediately eased our minds about the issues and fixed the problem very quickly. We will only go to this shop for our repairs from now on. We cant say enough about how great they are!

It is very stressful, as a parent, when you child is away from home (in college) and has car trouble and you arent familiar with any auto repair places near them. Our son had problems with his Cadillac converter in May. After reading many online reviews for a few repair places in the Ann Arbor area, we had our son take his car to a couple places for estimates. Ahmad at Packard Auto Repair gave use a couple options on how he could do the repair at an affordable cost, a cost much more reasonable than the other quotes we received. He did a great job fixing the car. A couple weeks ago, our son called home because his breaks werent working, Ahmad advised that our son shouldnt drive the car and had the car towed to the shop at no cost to us. He fixed the break lines and windshield wiper pump. Again, he did a great job. He is a wonderful person and took the extra time to assure a very nervous mom that her son would be safe to drive his vehicle. Two days ago, Ahmad and the Packard crew took time out of their already busy day to look over our sons car to be sure that a noise he was hearing wasnt affecting the safety condition of the car. They did this as a courtesy. Ahmad, again, assured us that the car would be safe to drive anywhere because he knew that our son would be driving back and forth on the express way. He never tried to take advantage of the fact that he was speaking to a woman. He is a very honest, respectful person. All three times that they have worked on our sons car they have been expedient, never keeping it longer than necessary and always calling in a timely matter to discuss their diagnosis. I would recommend Ahmad and Packard Auto Repairs to anyone, at any time. Keep up the great work!!!

These guys are great. My family has been doing business with them for several years, and theyve always done a wonderful job. One example that comes to mind is from a few days ago: my brakes were grinding, and a different source had told me that all 4 brakes would have to be replaced. We took the car in to Packard Auto, who called and told us that the front brakes were actually fine, and it was only the rear ones that needed to be redone. They easily could have ripped us off, especially because we already thought all 4 needed to be done. That kind of honesty was unexpected. Additionally, they had the brakes done by the end of the same day, which was huge because I was leaving town that evening. Great service overall.

I have had my vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser) in twice over the past few months. I am knowledgeable about cars and repairs and typically do my own stuff, but kids/winter/12hr shifts/etc. I know when somebody is upselling and BS’ing. Both times they did exactly what was asked, at a fair price. Repairs were completed on time and to my satisfaction and they let me look everything over before it came off the lift. They are prompt in letting you know the issue, giving you an estimate and keeping you updated throughout the process, and most importantly they are honest and dont try to tell you that you need things done that you dont. I couldnt give more stars. First thing is they got my car in super fast. They also inspected it for free, to find the problem (most places will charge you 25.00). Second, they were very kind and they fixed my truck really quick (took a few hours). Also, their prices seem reasonable, with a 1 year warranty. Pretty decent shop with fair prices. As always, shop around and get a second opinion for any major repairs. They seem to stand by their work and do a pretty good job. They respect each of their customers and understand that car repairs can be frustrating, difficult and costly. They dont delight in seeing people upset-they are compassionate and caring with their customers, old and new, and have a very loyal customer base.

When we moved a few years ago to the Ann arbor we thought we would try a garage closer to home and immediately regret it. Its worth the extra miles to know youre getting honest, fast, reasonable, and reliable service from really talented mechanics. Mechanics are very untrustworthy people. They can literally tell you anything and youll believe them because most of us dont know anything about the ins and out of a car. So the mechanic who works here isnt different from the rest. I just bought car and the struts were pretty bad and also it had a problem starting up. I took it to this rinky dink car shop where only one guy works, and the other guy answers the phone. To make a long story short, they worked on my car, I paid them, and then I went on with my life. The day I picked it up, I was on my way to work and my car completely shut off on freeway. This was after I asked him to diagnose the car and let me know if there is anything else wrong with this car that could potentially compromise driving this car from a to b. On top of that, I just spent every penny I had left to buy and fix this car. So I had to miss a day work and luckily I didnt get fired. I didnt get mad at these guys. I just called them to get it towed and inspect the car once again.So next day, Im calling and calling for the update. They kept telling me that they couldnt reproduce the issue. They ran are sorts of tests and it never happened again. I said fine, Ill come pick it up. When I came to pick it up, the car wouldnt start......I never blamed them for the car cutting off in motion, but when youre tell me my car is still not starting up after I paid you to fix it, you basically lied to me and took my money. Its like I told you to fix my flat tire and you gave me an oil change. They said it was the battery and turns out it wasnt.Let me just sum this up. They seem like nice people, especially the guy who answers the phone, but you cannot trust them. They did fix the problem with my struts, but if you need major work done on a car, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE. Its only one mechanic, the shop is the size of a garage, and they probably get up to 10 customers a day. They do not have time to fully inspect your car and get it done in a timely fashion. They wouldnt even respectfully honor the shitty looking coupons on their websites.At the end of the day, he told me I had a bad electrical after he took my money to replace my battery. He also told my girlfriend I needed an alignment after she told him about the sounds my car was making after he fixed my struts. Ive been to worst places but they just dont have the time to be honest.

The best in the area. A bigger parking lot would help. But of course you cant find a park at the best place. Theyll usually have the best price. So now I dont check to see if they have the best price anymore. I think i trust them. Lol. When I do my own minor repairs, like hoses, tuneup, brakes, they let me know if I did it right. I actually learn about my car each time I go. There are other places that will educate you too, but not for the same price.

Extremely happy with our experience. Left Subaru stranded on side of road(thought it was major transmission/engine coolant system problems.) Left keys in night drop. They were able to tow vehicle to their shop, diagnose the problem (failed alternator), get parts, make repairs, test drove, and had us back on the road the same day. All this without an appointment! It saved our weekend plans. The price was reasonable, the customer service/communication was prompt and professional. Happy we found them. They will definitely get more of our business in the future.

I have been going to Packard Auto Repair since I moved to Ann Arbor last year. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they always explain to me exactly what is going on with my car. They call right away when its done and dont overcharge. On my last visit, my Airbag light had come on and some water had started leaking onto my foot by the accelerator. The guys at Packard fixed both without charging me a dime! The service is truly quality and makes me want to keep going back here as long as I live in the area. :)

The mechanics and this shop are terrific!! I drove my 2014 Acura RDX up to A2/UM (my alma mater) from the Wash, DC area for a game. On FRI evening before the SAT game, the car began to misfire and check engine light went on—a recurrent problem requiring repairs (same cylinder fuel & spark—injector, coil and/or plug—three times over past 6 months. Last “definitive repair” was 2 weeks ago.Online reviews were excellent. I dropped car off SAT morning after speaking to Ahmed. Car was diagnosed and fixed by 2 pm! (My shop has been using the wrong plugs which did not tolerate higher combustion temps.) Coupled with a needed oil change, cost was very reasonable—well below my charges back home.These folks are terrific!!

This is a great auto repair shop. I had a flat rear tire and my usual service center left me on hold for 10 minutes and didnt reply to my online request for a service appointment. I called Packard Auto Repair, brought my car around immediately and they fitted me into their busy schedule on a Saturday. They found and fixed the problem (a 1 inch screw embedded in the tire) within five minutes. Professional, friendly, no fuss service and even waived the bill. I was back on the road with no hassles and I can definitely recommend this place for auto repairs.

I stopped in a few weeks ago because I had a flat tire. I had filled it with air at a gas station but wanted to have the pressure in all the tires checked and see if they could figure out why the one tire had gone flat. They added checked the pressures, added air to the tire, and upon inspection discovered I had a nail in the tire, which they removed and patched. All this was done in less than 15 minutes. I have used Packard Auto Repair for routine maintenance for the past few years and they are always prompt and professional.

Friends wouldnt necessarily call me a risk taker, but when it comes to getting any kind of car work done, I tend to put it off to the last minute because I fear getting taken advantage of since Im a female. So you can imagine my dread at having to call different shops to get quotes for brake replacement. Packard Auto provided the lowest quote at $199 for parts & labor over the phone, though the person bumped it up slightly when I brought the car in. Perhaps it was a tax on time; After all, I did wait 2 weeks from the phone quote to the actual service. After taxes, I rolled out of their shop with brand spanking new front and rear brake pads and rotor for $199 Its been over 2 weeks and everything is just fine with the car! Lowest quote for the service needed and quickly done work; Im a happy customer!

I have been looking for a reliable, reasonable, HONEST auto repair shop in Ann Arbor since I began driving 11 years ago. Unfortunately I didnt find Packard Auto until last year, but Im relieved to finally have a place to take my car (a 2007 Ford Escape). Every experience Ive had there has been amazing and affordable, and Im always given all of the details with regard to what needs to be fixed - from the immediately necessary repairs to minor ones that could potentially be done in the future - giving me options to work within my budget. And unlike other reviewers, as a young woman I have always been treated with the utmost respect by their staff. I am relieved to have a trustworthy place where I know they will do their best to help me fix my car, and do so at a reasonable cost.

My daughter goes to TSUN and has used packard twice now due to the abundance of craters lining the streets of Ann Arbor and vicinity. I sent her there based on google reviews. The place is far from professional. Went in for the highly advertised $50 AC charge (its on their website and sign in front of the building). Guy tells me its $85. I told him I want the price I saw online and he responds that theyve been trying to take that down with a smirk on his face. Whatever just do it so I can fix my car and get going. Over an hour later and they come back saying that its a $800+ job. Maybe it is, but while waiting I saw a few other people come in or receive a follow up call with the same kind of story (e.g. the simple brake job they wanted would need to be a complete overhaul or whatever). No one that I saw got the fix they were hoping for. Everyone got bad news. All in all a really shady place. Facade of the building is falling apart, cobwebs all over the waiting room, some trashy talk show on the TV, the employees buddies hanging around the shop. Maybe if you know these guys theyll help you out but I got no such treatment and wasted $85 and an hour out of my day.

I was in Ann Arbor this past weekend for the Michigan-Ohio State game when the regulator for my window broke and as a result my window dropped down inside the door. It was cold and raining out and I tried another auto repair shop in Ann Arbor who told me there was nothing they could do as they didnt have the part. Packard was the only place still open and I stopped by there to see if they could help. While they didnt have the part, they were able to get my window up and secure. They got my car in right away even though they were about to close. Most places nearing closing time would say they cant do anything but not these guys. They were helpful and courteous! They have never told me there was something wrong when there wasnt or sell me something I dont need. Took an estimate that I had from a different shop here and they beat it by a significant amount.

Once again, sometimes there are no words to describe the excellent/quality work that this team provided with not only my vehicle, but how they manifested understanding, compassion, and taking the time to explain the identified problem(s) and how they will address the needed compensatory strategies necessary for superior outcomes at very reasonable costs. They embrace their craft and aspire to the ultimate pursuit of excellence. You not only see this in their work but in their presence, a presence that affords one to acknowledge the true meaning of the wordintegrity. They capture the healthy essence of pride in their given craft, not the pride that fills the ego, but the pride that embraces the soul. In a society that worships glitter and greed, it is refreshing to know that their are businesses that still operate in this modality. Best Auto repair shop I have EVER been to. My husband and I have been coming here since we moved to Ann Arbor several years ago and couldnt be happier. They are extremely fair, have excellent customer service, and are very prompt with repairs (theyve always fixed mine within a day). Highly highly recommend.... Dont go anywhere else! Ive learned that family owned shops like this one truly are the best. They always tell me if I can wait on a certain repair or if something is optional. I 100% trust their judgement and never have a doubt in my mind that they are being fair. Please go here!

Took my car in to fix a tire with a nail in it, and they fixed it right away! The staffs were very friendly and professional. If anything happens to my car/tire again, I will definitely visit this place again. Highly recommend for everyone needing a repair in their car! :)

Extremely good service. My check engine light was on, so I took my car in to see what was wrong. The manager was very pleasant and explained what was wrong with the car. They gave me a fair price and a discount since it took them some time to figure out the issue. I would gladly recommend this place.

Nightmare experience! Lazy, disrespectfully and novice at best, don’t waste your time or money. The receptionist was pleasant and they didn’t attempt to over-charge me, which I only believe is because I already had an estimate of how much the job should cost. However, one of the mechanics who later loudly shouted to me that he owned the shop was grossly rude and incapable of conducting a respectful two way discussion. He is an Arabic man who I believe to be very much a racist. They said they could fix my car that same day I brought it there yet my car was not even looked at until 36 hours later after I had to physically show up there and get them to begin working on it. After they fixed it I pulled off and noticed that my radio was not working and even worse my car was shaking badly like it wanted to explode. Needless to say I went right back to find out what was causing these issues and to my surprise the mechanic who I mentioned earlier began cursing disrespectfully, blaming the year of my car to be the problem. I remained polite attempting to just find out what they think could be the problem. Eventually another mechanic came over and explained to me that snow/water must have got inside my engine while they worked on it yet they refused to continue working on my car until after the weekend, not to mention they wanted extra money (the nerve). I went and had if fixed by another mechanic along with my radio they broke by blowing a fuse. I still cannot understand why this guy was so frustrated and rude though. Not only did they cause me additional problems but the disrespect was much worse. If I hadn’t already paid them I would not have paid them anything after the way that guy talked to me, trust me do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I am an automotive engineer with experience in design as well as manufacturing. I have been here twice now for pretty extensive work and these guys are top notch. Their labor rates are extremely reasonable and they are honest and really try to get you the best value. During one of my repairs they found a very expensive and hard to find part by calling local salvage yards and ended up driving out to Detroit to get it for me at far less the cost the dealer quoted. I will be back again for work as I have had nothing but good experiences here. The shop is small an unassuming, but dont let the looks fool you. These guys do great work.

The front desk guy is very professional and courteous, but the work is more than questionable. I stopped here because my car was making odd noises and they did a diagnostic, which ended up being a crack exhaust manifold, and a leaky flex pipe. I saw both damages visually. I got quoted shy under $500, I usually do researchs as how hard is it to complete, but the guy seemed nice and knowledgeable. They did the work and my nightmares started. When I get on the expressway my car whistle and lags. When I start the car I hear knocking and clunking. I took it back to the shop for further inspection on the job they did. I got told the noises are now a different source not the work they did, I expressed concern as why all the new noises and performance issues came out after the repair. The mechanic replied because before the leaky exhaust wasnt fully sealed, now I need a muffler, I however noticed they added muffler sealing cement all over the area they welded the new flex pipe. I asked if it was leaking since thats a temporary fix, the mechanic answered no no its to stop corrosion. I asked again why now not prior, he said they forgot, at this point they taking me for a clueless guy (its obvious they didnt do the welding right, exhaust gas was leaking and creating whistling). I investigated the work done myself since I had zero confidence in the shop. I ordered a bolt on flex pipe, I took to a shop to install, the new shop guy told me he had no clue what they did, probably not good at welding. The whistling disappeared but the clunking and ratling persisted, I dismantle the area where the exhaust manifold meet the catalytic converter, there is an oring gasket there, bingo they never installed a new one, and its a crush gasket type. They did a halve a.. Job and overcharged me. The old gasket was floating around and creating a ruckus everytime I accelerated. I ordered one on Amazon for under $10 and did the job myself and now my car is totally back to normal, no muffler change needed, no BS. Contemplating a small claim suit to get my money reimburse. There is no worst feeling than getting overcharged on half completed job, my car went from butter smooth to a steam engine type train. I also found loose o2 sensor wires never reconnected at original location, could easily burned against my hot engine.

Good prompt service. Had an oil change. The rate is really good and they offer basic diagnostics along with it. Recommended.

Mechanics are friendly. The owners are the best in town, I recommend everyone to go there for any minor or major work. also theyre known to be the best and are excellent for new, used, and aftermarket parts!

Always friendly, always fast, always extremely good pricing. Trustworthy! I was in ann arbor for 5 years and used them for everything. I wish i could have bought them with me when i moved.
