The food here really is quite perfect. The french toast was actually perfect (served on weekends only I believe). Two slices of the blueberry swirl and two slices of the rasberry cinnamon with maple syrup. Honestly, it took a bit to come out, there was a kerfuffle in the kitchen and the staff was extremely kind and apologetic. Without a doubt, it was worth the wait. Will definitely come here again the next time we are in the area!

Everytime Ive visited I received great service & my order is always correct! I love that they always offer samples while youre waiting in line. (If you go, definitely get the brownie, its amazing!)

Today I distinctly went in there to get some chicken noodle soup. It’s on my receipt a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I get home open up the package and it’s potato. I called the store and they want me to drive all the way back in there to exchange it. And I said no I’m too far away. Oh would you like me to refund the girl says??Yes! Please !Well you just lost your customer

Excellent customer service. Team goes above and beyond. Recently had an incorrect order, and the manager/team took the time to correct it and then deliver it. I was unable to pick it up, and the gesture in itself was very appreciated and respected. I highly recommend their food, and dining in (when able) is always a relaxing and wholesome experience.

I asked to substitute turkey for avocado to make my sandwich vegetarian. I also ordered a variety scone. Not only did they not take the turkey out of my sandwich, but they put a BACON scone abomination on the side. Someone on their staff must dislike vegetarians. I will not order delivery from them again anytime soon.

Came here for usual lunch pick up, paid cash because Credit card machine not working, no biggy, they said it wasnt done yet, I stood to the side for 15min, not one person with all the staff next to register, next to my completed order stated my order was ready until I intercepted a staff trying to give someones food.

If I could give 10 stars I would! BEST Employees and fantastic food! But best of all the workers are so kind, I just love this place!

I feel like it’s less about the food, although it is good, and more about the atmosphere. It has distinct Anchorage vibes, and in a way where you just want to relax and have coffee. I’ve yet to try a few things but I think this is a good place to swing by if you’re ever in Anchorage, or if you have an hour to kill and want to sit down with a cup. (Americanos are decent)

As always, been here many times. Not once have I and my party experienced anything bad. I try to try new things. Delicious, quality sandwiches and breads. Full espresso options and soft drinks. Love the bread samples. Delicious salad dressings and even gluten free options. From dessert bread to dinner breads they have them freshly baked, daily. Very friendly staff. Another plus is they have a loyalty punch card when you buy 12 loaves you get a free loaf of bread of your choosing. That is their bakers dozen loyalty offer. Yum!

They have the Wow factor for customer service. High quality fresh great tasting bread as well.

This is by far the best place to eat bread, AMAZING STAFF! This nice, and exciting lady served us, and she just let off an amazing vibe while I ate, she was giving samples out, this was on Valentines Day, and she gave me a lot of samples, Id call them servings but she said they were samples. Tried to use this local business for a gift delivery, however “due to COVID they’re not delivering orders less than $100”. What kind of excuse is this? Sad.

We were in Anchorage for 10 days, and stopped here almost every morning. We love the coffee, the atmosphere, and, of course, the baked goods!

I came to Anchorage today and went to your store. I got cinnamon bread .. when we got to my son house with it . I was so disappointed.. it tasted old and dried out. I was so disappointed. We ended up just throwing it out. Learned a expensive lesson

I got the Kito Garden Herb the other day and it is absolutely fantastic I love it. And of course the all time favorite is the Kito jalapeno and cheddar.You guys do a great job I appreciate all the bread that you make keep it up.

The Cranky Turkey sandwich was delish. The 9-grain bread was the right consistency and texture. Its a good thing I dont live near one or my waistline might be more affected.

I wish I had taken a picture this place has such Ambiance! It Feels Like Home! It has a big fireplace in the middle , all the baked goods, and the aromas wafting through the air of the things that theyre baking. It is also pleasing to the eye, beautiful sights of all the things they baked fresh that day, it was a wonderful place! I recommend you go there! I am really partial to sourdough bread, they sell it by the loaf, and it is so good! They offer samples and the staff is super nice!

So many delicious selections, and the samples they hand out are so cool, as they allow the customer to choose from at least a handful of options. The sandwich was amazing, the clam chowder was ok but kind of cold. Will be going here for lunch again soon.

A bakery has to strike a unique balance for its customers. Some want it to be an upscale grocers, others a dessert shop, while others want a restaurant. Anchorage has many bakeries which excell in just one of these specialties, but I know of only one that hits all three notes perfectly, which strikes the perfect chord for me.Want a pastry? They have you covered with gooey caramel rolls and huge brownies. Want lunch? Check. Excellent choice of great sandwiches on a variety of bread, creative salads, and house-made soups. Need a loaf and some croutons for your home pantry? You got it. Colorful choices, free samples. Add to it the cheerful industrial-rustic decor and friendly employees, and youve got a hang out spot worth returning to weekly.

Good selection of draught beer and cider

I usually have a good experience - the food is good, even though the service is slow - understandable though with the lunch rush, etc. I knew that and thats why I called in to place an order for pick up - they told me it will be ready in 10-13 minutes. I showed up - there was a huge line and nobody to ask for my order. Finally, 40 minutes after the time I actually called (and over 20 mins standing in line) I tracked an employee down and she told me they ran out of the soup that I ordered. Literally wasted almost a whole hour including drive time for what should have been a 20-minute ordeal, including drive time. I hate writing negative reviews for local businesses, but it was pretty annoying that nobody seemed in a rush to get things done or looked like they actually care.

Excellent little bakery. Well worth locating it.

This is some of the best food I have ever eaten! With some of the friendliest staff and managers, you sure won’t want to miss this place. My only complaint is it’s a long commute from Indiana.

Everything is delicious; many options to choose from whether its pick up, dine in, grab something from the cafe or bakery side. Lovely products and great atmosphere. I’ve only been once but definitely plan to stop by again. 10/10

Wonderful place, very warm and inviting. The bread is done well and the lunch menu is outstanding. Service was very quick and accurate. The staff are very knowledgeable and pleasant. The prices are reasonable though the portions are on the small side at least the quality is there.

A pretty good stop for lunch. Soups arent tremendously salty, of course everything comes with fresh bread, and the sandwiches are pretty well made. Good coffee too. Price is reasonable

Its a nice, mostly quiet coffee and sandwich shop that also sells bread. The staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions you have, and the food is delicious. All in all a fantastic place to dine at.

Popped in to get a quick bowl of chili. Waited well over 10 minutes, they weren’t busy, the customer after me got his sandwich before me. Finally was asked what I was waiting for since I was standing and waiting. I said a bowl of chili. I watched them put it in the container, a bread bowl. And then they left to do other things. Finally an employee said I had to wait for the chili to seep in to the bread. At this point I’m late getting back to work. I finally said forget it and walked out. I did hear behind me say they were working on it . Soup and chili should be very simple to get.Wasn’t offered a sample even after hovering over the breads. Also watched them use a gloved hand handle the chili pot them she went and bagged a treat. While it’s close to work. They lost me. Too slow

Lovely place and extremely pleasant staff. Its a really good alternative to Starbucks. You can always get samples while waiting and I love that they carry so many unique items. Those are the Pros. The only reasons I am holding back a 5-star rating are that the place is very small (cozy but a bit cramped) and the prices for most items are crazy high. I usually get one of the sandwiches (if you go, please try the Cranky Turkey!) and have to be ready to spend $10. Again, on the positive side, they dont skimp on the ingredients.

Purchased a loaf of Apple Cinnamon bread that was already stale when I got home and opened the bag. Gave feedback with an email through their website and never heard a thing back from them. Have had good bread from them prior to this and the staff is always super friendly but have not been back since this incident. Be aware of when your product was made when purchasing whole loaves.

EXCELLENT PRODUCTS...EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. We live in remote Alaska. Our orders get here very quickly and when one order did not...it was replaced promptly. Will keep ordering and ordering. WE LOVE THEIR PRODUCTS...FRESH AND WONDERFUL!!

They make great gluten free bread but only make it on Fridays. If you want to order something special that is gluten free you have to do it Thursday evening. Their staff IS friendly and courteous but make sure you clarify your order about three times specifically because it almost always seems as if it is an issue or they have an excuse. It is unfortunate that this is the only place in town that bakes gluten free.

This place never disappoints! Bread is always delicious and the staff always provides assistance as to which bread would go best with your dinner!

Disappointing, their website said they closed at 5pm. When I arrived it was a little before 3:30 and they had already turned off their grill and panini grill so the only thing they could make was cold sandwiches. I ordered a build your own Turkey sandwich with both mayo and mustard, and when I got the sandwich it was dry bread with dry turkey. When I disassembled the sandwich to investigate I discovered they put a tiny dollop of mayo on only one side of the bread, and a squiggle of mustard on the other side. Overall Im disappointed because they turned off their grill over 30 minuets too early, and the quality of the sandwich was not worth the price. For the meal deal, which I did was $13.75 and I repeat, not worth it.

We used House of Bread catering for breakfast and lunch during a 2-day work event. Both days House of Bread staff had food delivered fresh, on-time, and super friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful and they had a great selection. I would certainly use them for catering again.

Bread is good but the sandwiches lately have been horrible. The avocado was not ripe and instead of vinegarette it was some other secret sauce that was lumpy on my veggie delight. Then I asked for a chai tea and they put coffee and chai tea together. Not good.

Just had an amazing first experience. Ihad the western half sandwich and the Angus and cheese soup... lets just say after having Panera bread in the lower states the house of bread beats them hands down on all levels. make sure you try the chocolate zucchini bread you wont be disappointed.

The Prairie bread was the best :) I went back for it, but, they were sold out. So, I settled for the Dakota bread. Big size samples, fast service, tasty quick lunch, tasty bread; I like this bakery!
