Extremely helpful staff. We were able to get in and find what we needed for the most part. Like all places they were short on some materials due to covid.

I like west marine because they have weird stuff. Tiny fans, fiberglass epoxy. Magnet bottom wine glasses, waterproof everything. I like to go in and just look around. They carry stuff you cant find anywhere else. Nautical stuff.

Helpful found the metric stainless steel bolts I needed. Brought my bike In the store since didnt have a bike rack. They were cool with it In there.

Did not have any of the things I was looking for. I called looking for a Garmin part and he said he needed a model number which I did not have but failed to tell me that they did not have any of the parts for a Garmin anyway.

Great place to get what you need for the boat..

Good service but... I ordered an impeller for a boat motor, one that I searched for OEM locally but was unable to find. I settled for aftermarket since West Marine had it in stock and was willing to hold it for a day. 90 minute drive to the store, lo and behold, they did not have the right part, pulled an obviously wrong one and the parts counter admitted as such when I brought it back. What good is a shop that answers the phone then lies to you?

Very helpful staff and a huge selection of stuff. I was able to order an outboard and purchase it for the same price as one in the Seattle store and it was delivered to Anchorage at no additional cost to me. Very good deal and I will definitely be shopping here again.

The lady and gentleman in electronics department was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Very kind and patient. Others in the store were helpful as well. Would have liked to see a good selection of paper charts, but there were none to be had.

Very organized, helpful and knowledgeable staff, great selection of boating gear and stainless steel hardware. Only gripe is the prices are higher than what you would pay elsewhere. But they always have what Im looking for and that saves me time so cant even gripe much.

Ashley is great. Knowledgeable about the products. Very helpful and friendly. The best thing about West Marine is their price match. I Love to shop there because of that. Hope you have a great experience there also.

Im conflicted on this store, pretty bad prices, but excellent service and selection. If you cant get it elsewhere, this shop is great. Many of these items are only available by mail otherwise.

These guys have a bit of a monopoly in Anchorage. Decent selection, but prices are a bit high.

West Marie, has good products I will say that, but out of the 4 times I called to get a simple steering cable the customer service during the call was more than pathetic!! THE FIRST 2 Times I call I waited almost 30 mins on hold before I got frustrated an hung up.... the 2nd time, I had all the information for my part that I needed, an yet instead of looking it up to see if they have it, they suggested I waist my time an drive all the way to anchorage an gamble on the chance they have my exact part, an employee with that attitude an manners would NOT be anywhere near acceptable in my company....

Found what I was looking for but not one person said anything and I had to hunt for someone when I had a question. No price tags listed for multiple items.

Can I give them a zero? Live in Fairbanks and needed bottom paint. Called and they said they could get what I wanted but they couldnt ship to Fairbanks because it was hazardous material and everything going to Fairbanks via UPS went by plane. Checked with UPS and not so, they truck hazmat every day between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Called WM back and talked to Manager. Same story. Cant ship it. Asked him to just try and call UPS and think he would find out different. Said he would and that he would call me back next day. Also sent email to WM HQs. 36 hours later and no reply from either of them. Apparently they dont know what the words customer service mean. Taking my business elsewhere.

There a little steep on the prices but there also a specialty store so it kinda goes hand and hand... if you have a boat or are in the market for parts stop in or give them a call, parts can be ordered well out of town and picked up by a friend or family member and shipped out asap if required.
