Went into the store to make a simple return of a phone because it was still was delivered to me even after canceling it. Another customer kindly asked us how long we’ve been waiting so we told her about 30 mins. She was a little irritated because she needed to work this afternoon and she was quoted with about a 45-60 min wait. She just needed her SIM card put back in place. So my fiancé showed her how to remove the tray so she could shift her card back into place. When we finally got taken care of the sales associate was rather rude she said I listened to your guys conversation and that if we didn’t want to wait we could’ve made an appointment instead because if it’s not an emergency we shouldn’t walk in. We simply said we don’t mind waiting, we helped out another customer with something that she could do at home to safe her time, we didn’t see a problem with it. The sales associate made our return, and said I put your money back on your credit card, emailed you receipt thanks bye and walked off. We were wanting to do an exchange as we just wanted a different model of the phone, we just said okay and walked away. We spent hours on our phone after going to the store trying to fix the situation. Honestly, if the man who checked us in wasn’t nice, this wouldn’t even be 2 stars, do yourself a favor and go to a different location.

I bought Iphone 12 Pro Max with Verizon network in Bestbuy 4 months ago. I have made payment all done after 1 month of usage. But the phone have not been using with other network (H20) and still lock. No one knows how to unlock my phone. So bad Service

I drove all the way from Marshalltown to the Ames store because the staff here are a good deal more professional and helpful than those in my town. Not only did they help me get my new plan and device set up with a true motivation to assist, the manager was patient enough to assist me when I drove back today with questions about my account PIN and bill payment. Everythings rigged up and all set and I wasnt made to feel stupid or anything. 😁😁😁

A dishonest business. The network coverage may be slightly better. But they have rather questionable business practice. They use these promotions to draw you in. Six months later you may still be waiting for the rebate/gift card.I would recommend giving their competitor across the street a try.

I am not a person who would usually write a review, this time I have to because I am really mad about the service I received from this store. Went here to activate my new device, because this new device I ordered online with Verizon for new line of service but it came to me with bad sim so unable to activate with customer service call. Went here, letting them know that I might need new sim card or change the phone number in order to activate this device as customer service call advised me to do. The agent here then end up adding new line for my device, making me to pay another activation fee even though I already added new line and paid for activation fee last week already, so I denied what he had done so he called customer service, then customer service walked him through the process to change my phone number and successfully activate my device. Before I heading out, I made sure everything remained the same, no new line added, just the phone number got changed, and yes I got his confirmation on that. Now I just found out my account actually added new line for that new number they changed for me, so one device but for two lines??? They messed up my account, now have to spend hours on the call with customer service to address my concern and to correct my account/billing issues. Very disappointed, thats why I never want to stop by Verizon store.

Store never has what youre looking for. Always wants you to order whatever you need online. Whats the point in coming to this place? And since they wont tell you this if you come to the store you have to wait so they dont have to many people in the store at once and once its youre turn theyll tell you that you need a mask. They dont tell you before you wait, they dont say a word about it until its youre turn and if you dont have one your out of luck. Good luck if you come here. Also if you have to come with another person, such as the account owner theyll make you wait longer. Like in my case with my brother who has a disability and needed me to help.

Poor customer service. I brought my phone from my home country. It was a brand new Galaxy S10. They told me they couldnt accept the phone in their network (which I understand), but the staff member was very dismissive about my phone and told me it would not work in the US at all. She actually suggested trading it for 250 dollars (the retail price is over 1100) towards a new phone.The phone has worked perfectly with other two carriers. Both of them asked for my IMEI number and actually checked the device to find out it would work correctly.

My husband and I went in there for a new phone for myself. I needed to pay off my phone and then would.trade it in to use towards the purchase. When it was my turn I said new phone and case. However Gil was his name tried to take me into many other options. Then he got a 200 credit for my old phone but that would not be used for the purchase today. I clearly had sad I wanted to use that towards todays purchase. His demor completely changed when I said this is what I want the phone and the case and the trade in applied to todays balance.. sorry just because I didnt want to spend 400 dollars on other items you got a sale. However in the future I may just call verizon on do things over the phone. Maybe Ill get better service then.

As someone who lives through their phone, I was very upset when it kept on going through the boot loop. I brought it to the Verizon Store, and was out in 5 minutes with a new phone being overnight shipped to me. The employee was quick to tell us the two options we had to replace it, for there were a lot of LG phones that had been going through the boot loop since the newest update. I was very pleased with how quick and efficient the employee was, and it definitely made the experience enjoyable!

I came into the store this week, twice. I have a prepaid account through Verizon so my first visit I was wanting to make a payment since my next month was starting in a couple days. I also asked to upgrade my account type from the 7g plan to the unlimited data. The lady that helped me asked if I wanted to just pay the difference to upgrade for the month of September or if I would like to pay the full amount for October. I told her I wanted to pay the full amount because my next month started in a couple days anyway. So she took the $75 plus tax and sent me on my way. The next day I get a message from Verizon telling me I needed to put more money on my account if I wanted to continue using my service. I log into the app and see that she had went ahead and upgraded me to unlimited for this current month, which cost $25 then credited the rest of the money to my account. So unless I paid an additional $25 by the next day my phone would be shut off. So I went back to the store to ask them to fix it because it made no sense to pay $25 to have unlimited data for 2 days, especially when I already had data left from the 7g plan I was previously on, that’s why I told her no when she asked if that’s what I wanted to do. After waiting for almost 45 minuets to even speak to someone, the guy who helped me seemed to want to just tell me whatever he could to rush me out the door so he could help the people who were there to buy stuff. He wouldn’t listen to what I was trying to explain to him, just kept telling me that “yep it says here your payment went through everything is fine just ignore that message and if there is a problem come back in.” Which was very different from the customer service I just watched him give to the guy who he helped before me that was buying a phone, with him he was very friendly and willing to take the time to listen and chat with him, with me he was very short and continued to talk over me. So basically only options I had were to either let my phone service shut off and come back and say I told you so, after probably waiting another ridiculous amount of time to speak to someone. Or pay again. I’ve never had issues with Verizon before, but this store and the poor customer service and ability to listen to your customers has really made me consider switching to a different phone carrier next month.

They are always super helpful when I come into get a new phone, but if I come in with and issue or a question it varies. Most of the staff just want to get you out of there if you arent going to earn them commission and they arent always the friendliest about it. Unfortunately it tends to be a necessary evil since Verizon is the only decent service were I live.

Not recommended, plan on an hour wait to get help. I dont have that time to waste. Go to an independent dealer (or Best Buy) where they wont make you wait. If your unfortunate as I am and are on a business account your stuck at only the factory stores. I ended up deciding another line wasnt that important and went without because I couldnt get any help.

Helpful but problem was not resolved with my friends phone ,and they need to hire more people to get customers through quicker,they gave my friend whom is a Verizon customer the information needed.Which I feel they could of called youre companys customer service phone number and helped her out more.I am just glad my cell phone company goes above & beyond to help their clients.I was there to advocate as shes disabled and needed her phone turned back on but youre company is very dicrimitive towards disabled people.

We spent our entire day going back and forth from the store and back home to our computer doing everything they said we needed to do to be able to upgrade our broken phones. The last time we went in they said that we got it done right and it would probably just take some time to show up on their end and to try again tomorrow. We wasted our entire day following their instructions to get nothing accomplished other than them asking us to waste more time tomorrow. I am extremely frustrated after being told we needed to do something that wasn’t even an option or possible and then when we informed them of that them falling back to “just try again tomorrow”. Would have loved for just one of the many people including the manager to actually take time to try and HELP us. Absolutely Terrible experience and service. Honestly bad enough that I’ll be talking to my family about taking our account to another company.

We have been Verizon customers for several years. We go to this store only. I will agree that sometimes the wait time is long, but I look at it as they are taking their time helping other customers, like I would like to be treated when it is my turn. I have been very lucky to get McClain or Kristin to help me. They are both VERY nice people and VERY knowledgable. We did have an issue with an on-line order and Chris (store manager) and Kristin worked extremely hard to help us and everything turned out great. Im sure the other employees are just as nice, I just havent had the experience with them.

I had a fantastic experience at the Duff location today. I was greeted right when I walked in - they took my information and said someone would be with me shortly. After a five minute wait, one of the specialists, Josh, found me and apologized for the long wait (Ive waited over an hour at other locations in Des Moines!) and immediately helped me with what I needed. He was super friendly, helpful and made sure I didnt have any questions before I left.

The people at this store that Ive had the pleasure of speaking to are very intelligent, helpful, and cheerful. Im not sure about anyone elses experience here, but Ive been very happy with their service. They have a very fast response time, yet are also able to give great service and answer questions very concisely. Just make sure you ask them as many questions as you can, because there seem to be a tremendous amount of stipulations with cell phones, especially smart phones, but that isnt the regular employees responsibility, but the policy-makers at Verizon. Thank you, Verizon workers on South Duff :)

Originally I had given them 5 stars for going above and beyond helping me . I went in Sunday to purchase a new phone. The place was super busy and I felt like the wait was still acceptable. I worked with Asher on renewing my phone and she got everything done quickly and got me back on the road. I went in 4 days later as my phone was spazzing out .Asher was working again and helped me. She looked at my phone and I told her it has a weird screen of death. She thought it just needed a force restart. We did that and it did not work. She told me I needed to pay the deductible due to the physical damage. I asked her where the damage was and she said well it probably happened so I will not warranty it. I asked her to talk to the manager. She advised he was in the back because he was super sick and did not want to get customers sick. Ean then came out with my phone and screen protector separate. He tried to say the phone had damage .I told him the only damage was to the upper corner and Im not sure where that came from because it was not there when I walked in the store .he explained that he took the screen protector off to examine it for damage so that damage was from him . I told him this is within the 14 day return period and should be a warranty issue. He did not want to listen to it and said I can pay the deductible. He was not in a good mood because he was sick. No resultion was made with Verizon so I switched to US Cellular. I spent 52 minutes on the phone with verizon customer support and hung up as I was tired of waiting .

Hasan, he was quick to get us out the door. Had to fight him to get a screen protector installed, and he was very adamant about us transferring the items from our old phone to our new phone on our time, at home.Used to be they would do it in store so it wouldnt be any hassle. And in a week our trade in value dropped 10$.To keep things moving along here, we dont usually transfer from phone to phone anymore (paraphrased the last part)Avoid this guy, At all costs.

Had a great experience with the Ames Verizon store. I had a very tricky return/upgrade I had to do and the workers made all the calls needed to push it through and get me a new phone. I worked with Bryce and Libby at the Ames Verizon store on S Duff. I also worked with Matt who was our rep who took my calls on his cell phone although he was not working. I’m very pleased with our switch over to Verizon from Sprint. Matt, Libby, and Bryce were all very professional and knowledgeable.

They have been eliminating people from my phone contacts. No warning with reason.Upon visiting a store I found I am allowed a certain number or pay more. This is the first I have ever been told this.They chose who was eliminated.NOT GOOD CHOICEI went to Staples an purchased a Rolla Dex. It is going to take a lot of time and work to get record of all that was lost.I am a widow with physical limitations for at least the next year or so due to joint replacement surgeries past, present and one more to go this fall.I do not appreciate VERSION doing this to me.

Long wait everytime. Decent customer service. I had zero reception for the Iowa vs Iowa State game. US Cellular provides the towers for all football games. I literally could not call an Uber for a ride or load a search engine for the local cab services phone number. Very mad about that. But on all other days, besides game days, Verizon gives me no problems.

We had been phone shopping for several days and finally decided to go with Verizon, had a horrible experience at the Ankeny store so we left and drove up to Ames. Our night started out pretty good, I was planning to open a business account so we could help on cost (no activation fees) Ankeny store and the business rep said I had all info needed to open the account. Once in Ames I was told No I did not have all the info needed so unable to open the account. So we decided to go ahead and just start up 2 lines of service, I understand this process takes awhile. We purchased 2 new phones and at 8pm we were handed a bag with our 2 phones still sealed in the packaged and told here you go have a great night. All you have to do is turn them on and they are good to go...really I just sat here for well over 2 hours and you cant even turn them on for me and show me how to use them? We were super disappointed and left. Went out for dinner and ended up some how locking the phones up and it ended up taking us well over 2 hours to even get into the phones. I ended up getting a review by email, I filled that out and Ashley the manager called me that following Sunday to see why I filled it out the way I did. I dont get why I am paying $90 activation fees when they did nothing for me at the store, explained the business confusion and she setup a time to call me on Tuesday morning. She was going to check with her business rep and help me transfer over to a business account to waive the activation fees. Tuesday came and gone and no phone call. She then sends me a text on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm asking me to call her. Still to this day we have no info on if I am eligible for a business account or not, starting to wonder if I made the right decision coming over to Verizon.

Not a good experience. Immediately walked in and three employees all at once tried to sell us stuff. In case you didn’t know that makes people really uncomfortable and it’s actually quite irritating. If i wanted a tablet I’d ask for one lmao I’m assuming you aren’t making your sales quotas that’s why you literally wouldn’t stop harassing us to buy stuff??? Maybe you should reconsider your approach..... going to the TCC for now on, rather wait in line for one employee then be bombarded by 3 overbearing sales associates.

Terrible customer service! Is it this store or Verizon? I dont care either way. The service we received was awful. My wifes phone started having problems with the speaker so we went in to this store to see about getting it fixed or upgrading. I had called ahead and was told she was due for a free upgrade in 12 days. So the client service person checked on phone and said it was beyond their ability to repair. She also told us that our three year contract was nearly over and we would be eligible for a free upgrade in 11 days. Could we get the upgrade now? No, sorry they could not make any exception at this store. We could get the Edge program and pay more than in one year than the upgrade would cost (and be good for 3 years). Are you kidding? They cant make an exception of 11 days in a contract that lasts 1095 days? How stupid.

Two employees working for the whole store. There was a stack of 10 people by the front door waiting to be checked in. This was 4 min after opening. Ive been here over 20 min and Im not even close to being next. All I wanted to do is buy a phone that I already had picked out. Do yourself.a favor and go to best buy to get them to hook up your new line.***UPDATE ***The salesperson automatically and without asking signed me up for the phone insurance and put it on our bill. I had to contact Verizon corporate to get it taken off of our account. Highly unethical

Second time going in store and second time with issues. We were trying to get our phones set up while juggling two year old twins. The woman helping us was clearly just wanting to get out of the store. At one point, we saw our bag and a receipt etc go into it but when she couldnt do something, she took it to the back and then returned without it. We didnt think anything, it was an emergency appt on our part and the twins were our priority, assuming the store would be taking care of us. Sure enough, we get home and realize, neither boyfriend or I were given the bag. So I have a phone, no charger, none of the paperwork, nothing.This store needs an overhaul as when you go to pick up something ordered online, they never know what you are talking about. Im going to now have to waste my gas to go back and get the stuff as obviously, we need the things that go with the phone and the receipt for our paperwork.Come on Verizon, step it up.

• Abby is a disrespectful employee who doesnt know how to speak to customers politely.• I have still not received a refund for a product I returned at the beginning of December.• The store wait time is forever long each time you go in.• None of the employees know how to do their jobs or follow through with company-wide procedures.I bought an iPad Pro with cash on Saturday, December 2. When the product had shipped to me, I had already decided to return it; it was an unnecessary purchase. When I brought the product back to the Verizon store, I was told this money would not be able to be returned to me because they did not carry that much cash inside the store. My ONLY option was to put it onto my Verizon account as account credit. To which my response was, This would be like me going to Walmart, buying an item, returning it with my receipt the same day and them telling me it had to go on a Walmart gift-card. The whole reason for me returning it was because I needed that money back, not that it should matter WHY I brought it back. The point is, I paid cash, I expected to get my money back in cash form. NOT STORE CREDIT. This was ridiculous. I was at the store for over an hour and a half that night and I had plans to go to a concert which I was late for because of this situation. One of the employees, Chelsea, was very accommodating even though the situation was very frustrating and she was finding out that she didn’t have the resources to refund me that day. She later found out that there WAS another option: to send out a check through treasury that would take 8-10 weeks to be delivered to me. I hesitantly agreed to this option and asked them to be very clear, “You’re SURE this check will come to me between 8-10 weeks?” They replied, “Yes, we’re positive.” So, they “issued the check” from treasury and apparently it was “taken care of”. After over an hour of waiting, I asked the other woman, Abby, who seemed to be an assistant manager or something, if there was anything Verizon could do for my troubles because the whole problem was that THE STORE didnt have enough cash to give me. She told me she would waive the restocking fee of $35 AND give me a $50 store credit on my account, which was acceptable in my eyes for the time I had wasted in the store. As Chelsea was finalizing the credit on my account, she put $15 instead of $50. I approached Abby and said, “You did say you would put $50 on my account, I wouldn’t have agreed to just $15.” She called me a liar essentially and became very disrespectful saying she didnt say that, and only gave me a $15 store credit. She told me, I shouldnt have even done that at all because of a poor decision on your side. I was VERY SHOCKED by her response to me. I have been a customer with Verizon for 10 years and this scenario alone makes me want to change services. It was ridiculous. Its 3 months later and i STILL DO NOT HAVE MY REFUND!!!!! If anyone wants the full story, Id be VERY WILLING to share more details. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. Ive spent months trying to get my money back and no one knows how to do their job.

Its hard to review verizon. On the one hand their cell service is unequaled. I never drop calls and I have data everywhere I go in the country. But on the other hand their customer service is sometimes just atrocious. Ill stick with them for the network though.

Tried T-Mobile, At&T, Ultrasim, really tired of the network ... on my husbands recommendations We got Verizon connection...never looked back since then... internet speed is super high....seamless connection....my apartment where most of the network gets blocked out..verizon worked...i never miss calls...no complaints..shall always be a loyal Verizon Fan!

Generally, I try to make thorough checks of changes to my phone plans. At any other Verizon store, I have had no issues when checking these things.Here, however, they guaranteed several things to me which I came in to the store multiple times to check up on and make sure of. All of the things I was told would be fine ended up not being okay, but they didnt mention it until after we made the changes.This is the worst service Ive had in any Verizon store. If you go into this store, I highly suggest you double check with other locations or customer service.. Just take your questions elsewhere.Updated:After calling Verizon Customer Service, they fixed my problem with no issues.

Although Verizons signal strength is hard to beat, the sales team at this store are only moderately knowledgeable about the phones and selection (or trained to push you to a single option) and constantly pushing other items such as activity trackers and other electronic toys.

Doing this review from the store as I have been standing here for 30 minutes takes pictures of the staff standing around playing YouTube videos and not helping a single person. I had 2 simple questions, and wanted to buy a phone tiday. Looks like Im going to best buy instead. They clearly dont take their 2 star rating on here serioisly.

Pre ordered a new phone and was told I would get $200 when I received it for turning in my old phone. When I went to turn it in they completely said I could only get $20, pretty significant difference but I was fine with it as my old phone was serving no purpose anymore. While in there I asked them to put a screen protector on my new phone, which of course cost over $40 but again I needed it so I said ok. The problem I have is they rushed to put it on and left a bunch of bubbles that needed worked out and they told me to use the tool that came with the screen protector and do it myself. 12 hours later I am trying to fix the bubbles and the protector cracks all to hell, so I call and ask if I can come in and they can put it on right. They just tell me it has a lifetime warranty and I have to register it through the company and they will send me a new one for a smaller fee and they can put it on. So essentially I went in there and dropped over $1000 on a new phone with accessories and they cant even help with a small problem like a screen protector that got messed up from their poor installation in the first place. Bang up job on customer service.
