I had been looking for a part for my Isuzu Trooper for months and nobody had it. I called these guys and legit within an hour they called back and had it ready to go, removed from the parts vehicle. And at a super reasonable price. Not only was the part there for me to pick up, they even had all the hardware for it in a bag attached to it. These Guys are amazing!! Every time I’m look for something the have it in one way or another. The online system is awesome to be able to look at a what I’m buying an decide for myself if it’s in good enough condition for what I’m looking for. Paying online and arranging picking up is seem less. I make the further drive even tho there are closer yards just because these guys are always beyond excellent when I call in and the prices are more than fair. I have been going to Carney & Sons for car parts since I was 16 years old. Carney & Sons has always been my # 1 choice when I need any car parts. The very 1st car I bought myself a 1980 something Toyota Starlet needed a transmission Carney & Sons had the only 1 around. I paid $200 for it. My car ran until the floorboards rusted through. A lady in Conrad had a car just like mine, but red & 0 rust & needed a transmission & couldnt get 1. She sold her car to me for $300 & my Dad put my transmission in that car that I got at Carneys & I drove that car forever. I made several trips to Missouri in that car & even drove it to Chicago once. I wasnt afraid to get in it & go anywhere. Toyotas where made better in the 80s. Carney & Sons has always been very helpful to me! They sell excellent used tires I paid $100 for 2 BF Goodrich Tires with 75% tread for my 2000 Toyota Corolla & they lasted me at least 2 years. They can get aftermarket parts for your vehicle too, my drivers side inside door handle broke twice in the winter time on my 2000 Toyota Corolla. New aftermarket door handles are exactly the same as the Toyota garages, but half the price. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way mine broke & I had to get the 1st door handle at the Ames Toyota garage. Im from MN and was looking for a coolant tank for my sons 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante (For some reason very hard to find parts for) and went to a local car salvage yard and they were completely unhelpful and rude, even though they told me they had the parts. Called CARNEY and Sons and spoke to TONY about the part I needed and he was friendly , polite, professional and knowledgeable. I havent gotten the part yet (advised not supposed to be here for another few days) but if it was like customer service then Im sure it will be perfect...UPDATE...received my part on time, packaged well, and was in great condition.... cannot complain even a little bit, will definitely be ordering from here again!!!

I am no car/parts expert. I am also unsure on what separates a good car recycling place from a bad one. That being said, I do recognize good customer service when I see it and Carneys has it all. After dealing with them on a number of occasions, I saw a pattern of commitment to customer satisfaction and accommodation. I have a made a number of requests at Carneys that were not a part of any service package, and all of those were fulfilled quickly, efficiently with absolutely no hassle.The staff seemed very knowledgeable about the legal aspect of car recycling and was able to quickly guide me through all the necessary steps. Overall I would highly recommend this business to anyone and hope that more places can follow suit with the way their customers are treated.

Even if it doesnt run, they do their own towing for only $20, versus having to use an outside towing service (about $50) for the other salvage yard in Ames. I Couldnt ask for better customer service. I looked all over for a rim for my Buick Regal and every place provided little or laughable customer support but I called Carney and they had the rim shipped to my house in less than 24 hours and did not charge me any shipping cost. I wish I could give these guys ten stars! I stumbled across them a few years back while looking for a door trim piece for my 1995 Buick Roadmaster wagon. Im over by Sioux City and our local yard wouldnt sell me just the trim piece instead they wanted to sell the whole door for $250. After doing some more searching another yard told me about these guys so, I called and they sold me just the part I needed for $25 (if I remember right) plus $5 shipping. They are my go to place whenever I need used parts and they always have a very fair price. I really cant say enough good about them!

Im assuming the representative on the phone thought I was some sort of scammer since I was calling from out of state. They refused to sell me parts even though I offered to pay MORE to have them remove a useless piece covering any possible extra labor. They should make consideration for certain alteration in processes to make money! How does a business make money selling parts but wont sell parts? Poor customer service.
