Quoted my teenage son $400 for a side window replacement and emailed him the paperwork with the price. Three days later, takes his car in for the repair to be told it is now $600. He was never contacted about the increase and they wouldnt accept the responsibility for poor communication. In most businesses you have to eat the difference. Very unprofessional.

It was great being able to drop my Camry off in the morning and have it ready the same day! Replaced my entire windshield and it looks good as new!

Stained my leather seat after they fixed my windshield. Horrible customer service, and seems like they are drunk because their explanation makes no sense.In response to satellites reply- I have done this. I went back, and the manager pretty much laughed in my face and said its not his problem. How unprofessional.

I shattered my rear windshield, filed a claim (super easy online), and got it replaced next day. Called around and this option was a lot cheaper than some of the other replacements. They even had their mobile repair truck come to my work and do it on site so I didn’t have to take any more time out of my day. Very happy with the service I got!

Honestly one of the smoothest car repair things I have gone through in a while. Todd was fast and did a really good job, even washed all my windows when he was done (even though I only had my front windshield replaced). Took about an hour, they had free wifi and coffee, so i just waited in the lobby area and worked. Pretty great!

Safelite in Ames, IA is AWESOME!! Dawn and Heather were extremely timely and helpful to get the right day/time. And I forgot the 2 installers names, but they were EXTREMELY careful, thorough and professional! After receiving a ticket from the Hwy patrol, my wife took our Suburban to Safelite to see if they could take the heavy tint off of the front windows. Even though they dont offer that service, they went above and beyond to help her figure out how to do it and even help her do it.Service like that is hard to find any more. We would highly recommend them for any work you need to have done. We appreciate their kind and willing service.

Installation tech went above and beyond to make sure that my windshield doesnt leak water anymore. He even vacuumed the front of my vehicle for me since I am a really busy college student. Loved the service, the staff was really helpful about getting me in for the fixing before it got worse.

I took my Jeep in to have them look at the window trim that another company had failed to put in correctly twice. They quickly readjusted it so it would fit and I was on my way. Great service!!! Other companies better watch it when word gets out.

These stooges managed to break a window

After my back window was smashed by a tree during a tornado in July, we found that the window for our VW rabbit was impossible to find. Another establishment blew us off three times, probably due to the part being so hard to find.Safelite in Ames not only had the part on hand, they did it for half the price the other place had quoted us. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and our window was in within a very reasonable amount of time. They also vacuumed our front seats and washed all of the windows.I’m giving five starts because I would absolutely visit Safelite in Ames again, great work.

The people here are very nice. They were able to get me in within 24 hours, replaced my windshield quickly, and had me on my way! I do have to note that with their installment they did accidently unhook both of the drainage tubes coming off my sunroof. I did not notice until the next major rain and I had an inch of water in my car. I then took it back to them with concern of it being the windshield, but they insured me it was not their installation. I then had to go to allstar glass and pay $37 to find out it was the tubes caused by method safelite uses to remove the windshield. IF YOU HAVE A SUN ROOF GET THEM TO CHECK THAT THE TUBES ARE ATTACHED BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! or else the next big rain storm your car will be full of water. Safelite did vacuum all of the water out of my car and let it air dry in their shop for a day. So that is why they are still getting 4 stars. Everyone makes mistakes, but it did cause me a lot of hassle.

I got my windshield fixed a few weeks ago and a week after I came in. the molding around my windshield started to peal apart. I made a new appointment expecting everything would be taken care of. I was fed a bunch of BS, when the manager told me the damage was due to weather. No! My molding just doesnt happen to start peeling apart a week after I get my windshield fixed. Additionally I watched your technician take the molding off. Instead of taking it off the correct way he slide the molding and damaged it. Own up to your mistakes and dont try and take advantage of people! I would not recommend going to this place.

Was happy that Safelite could come to me on a weekend considering the shop hours are during everyones work hours, making it impossible to go.The installer did a great job.The major down side is that Safelite did not know that Honda requires OEM windshield installed so that they can recalibrate the front sensing unit. I was never given an option to ask for OEM windshield. Lucked out and Honda did the calibration anyways and it worked. Not doing Safelite again, Im going to a shop that better knows a cars requirements.

A long crack (thanks rock!) across our windshield brought us in to the Safelite shop in Ames. We left VERY satisfied with the replacment job done! The man who worked on our car not only efficiently replaced the glass, he vacuumed out the front of our car! It took about an hour and a half all together and cost $299.58 (for a Nissan Altima) with a $20 discount we found online.We would recommend Safelite for autoglass repair/replacement!

Stopped by recently to have them look at teenage sons car, with a very small, 1mm diameter chip in windshield. Told them that we did not have comprehensive insurance to cover it. Quoted cost of $100-$125. Went to another auto glass shop in Ames, gentleman fixed it for free.

Too high priced.
