Great city coffee house.Had a poor first experience and went a second time without frustration over their sarcastic mask sign that I almost obliged.Cheap fresh local coffee.Not great. But good enough. Service was kind by Ashley, who greeted me and helped me with my order and pour overs. Pastries are a bit higher priced. Would happily come back again. Looking forward to not producing more landfill garbage and having coffee in a washable mug.Also still dont like the tacky taped off tables and chairs.

Very nice coffee shop. I had the white caramel frappe. Very good not overly sweet like many white chocolate drinks. Prompt service and very friendly. They had comfortable seating and outdoor tables and chairs too. Easy parking and access.

Great place to study! Staff is super nice and coffee tastes great. They also have a lot of art work for sale, which is pretty cool. I highly recommend visiting them if you’re in the area.

I LOVE this place. This is my favorite coffee shop downriver to study at, read for leisure, or just meet up with friends at. They have a large menu including coffee drinks, smoothies, ice cream; they even have gluten free pastries most of the time for all my celiac readers. The vibes at city are it.

Great coffee, but was hoping for more food options. It was the closest local coffee shop to the airport, and I needed a quick place to work but was also starving. But its really well set up to work from (plenty of tables, all have outlets). Very clean. Was surprised to see just about everyone inside had no masks on. Literally me and the cashier were the only ones. Luckily, Im fully vaccinated but for those that arent...lord help them.

City Coffee house has been one of my favorite places to get coffee other than the major corporations like Bigby, Starbucks, etc. Friday 23rd around 2:30 pm City Coffee was as busy as it usually is at this time. There was an employee I have never seen working on my 30+ visits since the beginning of the year. I could tell upon approaching that the employee was everything besides happy to be there, which is something I could normally overlook, however the employee did not acknowledge me at all: instead she stared blankly at the screen of the Register. How are you doing today? I asked, which she ignored and continued to stare at the register screen, saying nothing. 2-3 minutes went by, and then the employe shrugged her shoulders looking at me for the first time Are you going to order or what? the woman snarled. I was honestly shocked, normally the employees at City Coffee House are so friendly! This was one of my favorite places to grab a coffee or just hangout, but after experiencing the unwelcoming and offensive attitude of the staff Im not sure if I will be back. Like I mentioned before, this was one of my favorite places aside from the major Corporations because of the wide selection of flavor syrups available, and mainly because the vibe of City Coffee is so unique, warming and welcoming, as if you could spend a whole day just lounging on a couch or scrolling through the internet, I really hope that if I do decide to come back that the employee has a better approach/greeting and hopefully was just having a bad day.

Why is nobody wearing a mask in this place. There is a man coughing and coughing and NO MASK. Ugh do we need this place to close too. Please enforce the masks. ElseThis place will be closed too and that is going to suck because of those irresponsible. Even Barista was not wearing a mask while making my drink nor at any other time.

Quite honestly whats really scary is that I cant even post an honest review of my bad experience without the owner responding by lying and painting me the customer in a bad light. I hope whoever reads this, can see Im giving an honest review of my experience with this business! The owner could care less that I was a paying customer for 3 years who spent $100s of dollars supporting a local business! I supported her business buying $5 mochas everyday. When I complained about a certain employee who bad mouthed me behind my back, The owner blamed me and another customer...then I was told to get lost and not come back! I took my business elsewhere. In the end the owner is the only one who loses out on all of my business....

This business is not following Covid-19 restrictions. The business was PACKED with patrons. The barista also wasn’t wearing a mask.

Love this place! I recently found this little gem and was so delighted. This area has needed a cool, calm and indie style coffee shop. Drinks and workers are always great. Even when it is busy, I am able to study and relax. Music is awesome too!Keep up the great work owners!

10/10 coffee and good atmosphere with a lot of outdoor seating. Allen Park would be sad without it. The previous reviewer is angry about their negative impact on the environment, but they’re doing their best to keep things clean and healthy, and a majority of customers are appreciative of the safety measures.

No other place id go to get coffee in a 20 mile radius. Good music, good coffee. A little pricey but great environment

The atmosphere is warm. The decors are beautiful. I come here very often to study. They play some really nice lo-fi & indie music. Workers are kind, but not very attentive to wiping down the tables. Coffee is good. During the warm days they would open a garage like door. Could be hard to find parking. They have a point system too!

Visited during the street fair. Was at the old coffeehouse years ago and I understood the eclectic vibe they were going for but it looked more like they had retrieved their decor from the streets on trash day. The City Coffeehouse is nothing like that. Whoever did the decor did an excellent job. Its clean, inviting and has a rustic element to it. Prices are fair and they have diverse drink menu. Also hand dipped ice cream. Employees were pleasant. Would absolutely recommend it.

The coffee is great and the atmosphere is even better. Its a great place to grab a drink or sit and relax. Enjoy some art while you are there!

Really nice spot in Allen Park, very spacious with a warm theme. Today I found out this gem is owned by a young lady, I was very impressed. The space is clean, with ample seating both in and out. Nice crowd.

I always get the same thing cause Im a creature of habit, so it makes me happy they still have the Bandana Nut Latte. They have lots of other drinks. And they also have cakes, cookies or my favorite to go with my coffee BROWNIES ☺.

This place has been my hangout since the early 2000s. The new owner has made this place even more awesome than I remember it being. The vibe is always chill.The coffee is terrific, the non-caffeinated drinks are wonderful, and the staff is delightful. Hands down, one of my favorite places.The caramel apple cider steamer is autumn in a cup. Try it!

Recently discovered this Jewel in Allen Park. Very relaxed ambience and the staff is very friendly! Perfect place for meeting with a friend, doing some homework, or just enjoying a delicious coffee! They have very comfortable indoor seating as well as a couple of tables and chairs outside.

Really cute and cozy coffee shop! The best atmosphere around, honestly. They have pour over coffees, frozen frappes and frozen hot chocolate, loose leaf tea, ice cream, and tons of espresso drinks. Definitely worth stopping in and hanging out for a while.

I stopped by last summer for a cafe latte but was not impressed because the espresso tasted stale. I stopped in again for the same yesterday and it was very good. A place that roasts their own beans should be supported because their coffee will be fresh.

The dark roast coffee was wonderful. The atmosphere was inviting. The staff was professional and truly wanted to please every customer. The Art-O-Matic, reconditioned from an old cigarette vending machine, selling original art, in a variety of forms was a fun experience. I love the art I purchased today. The only drawback was the lack of any real food, like a sandwich or salad or soup. The baked goods looked delicious and the options were many. As a diabetic, only a bagel with cream cheese was ok for me to eat. My friends had pastries, and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. It was my first visit, but I guarantee there will be more. Really a very nice little coffee house, original and unique in small ways that make this place stand out in an ocean of Starbucks and Bigsbys and Tim Hortons.

I love this place so much. It’s my go-to for working on homework (which is frequent as a grad student!) however, this is the 6th time I’ve been kicked out due to a large scrapbooking club that comes in every Thursday. They reserve nearly the entire place, and if you do stay, you can’t get any work done because they are so loud. I personally don’t see why this is allowed, as it kicks out nearly every other paying guest. Super annoying.

The employee was super rude from the moment I even got to the shop. When I was ordering she kept rolling her eyes and making rude gestures. She even took my order incorrect which I didnt even mind because people make mistakes, but what I did mind was her attitude. Overall the place has a cool vibe.

Really nice, laid back coffeehouse hidden among tons of businesses at Allen Road at the south ending of Southfield Fwy.Mellow lighting, mostly nice staff, lots of seating inside and several outdoor tables. Signal for many mobile phone networks is bad but offers free wifi. Serves ice cream too! At least 12 flavors, also able to mix with coffee/espresso. Prices are very inexpensive, gives discounts to employees from several nearby companies as well as a rewards through drink purchases. Definitely one of Allen Parks best kept secrets!
