I planned on taking this class because I really just wanted to get the certificate for concealed carry. Andy made me so interested in the class that I left with so much good information and quite a few pages of notes. I highly recommend him. I will also be buying some cool stuff from his website.

I recently purchased my first handgun and I was interested in getting my concealed carry permit as well as get some practical advice and training from someone who could get me steered in the right direction and get me acclimated with my new Glock 9MM. Its not all about price but after I took Andys class, I was impressed with how much passion he actually has for helping people and his wealth of knowledge is Awesome! She helps in multiple ways and even speaks directly to the women who are taking the class and giving great advice that pertains to women specifically. Wow! I have been handling firearms since I was old enough to know how to handle them safely. Taking this class, I thought it would be a dry and boring Saturday class, where staying awake would be the hardest part.THAT CLASS WAS GREAT!!!Andy did a great job of involving everyone and showing real-life examples of the principals of concealed carry. If you are looking for a class, this is the one!

Took a concealed carry course with Andy. Five hours of interactive, practical information. Took the UT course supplement also. No snags provision of all the materials and info needed to file in VA and UT. No-nonsense answers to a range of questions. Plus, invitation to ongoing access for questions and advice.One lady in the class came in with an attitude about guns and gave the instructor a hard time. He handled her flack with professional frankness; she got huffy and left.Good course. I highly recommend it.

Can not recommend enough. I was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Andy covered the basics and then some, with a nice balance between being educational and entertaining. Andy was patient with questions, and it is clear that he is passionate about the topic. My wife, who is completely new to firearms, said it was 10x better than what (she) was expecting. Very pleased.

Great class! I took the concealed carry class with Andy and it was great. I’ve taken another basic class with a company out in Maryland before and it was not even close to the class with Protect & Defend. Andy is an expert. He is experienced, extremely knowledgeable and gave us many real life examples that were easy to understand. He’s also a great educator/public speaker so the class was interesting and flew by. I’m very excited to continue working with this company to get a permit, purchase a firearm, and to learn how to use my firearm safely and effectively.

Bill was the instructor for the hands-on portion of my basic pistol operation course and I left the course feeling that Id gotten exactly what I needed. He was very patient, punctual and, prior to our meeting, wanted to know if there were specific things I wanted to work on. In our session, no question was deemed a bad question, which all probably means that he enjoys providing firearms instruction. He has a lot of real-world experience with firearms, so Im sure I hardly scratched the surface of what hes able to teach. Bill was appropriately focused on user safety -- not to the extent that I was afraid to touch the gun, but showing me how to build in safety in your every step in using the weapon. For me, that was very important. Whole-hearted recommendation.Update: attended the one-day concealed carry class where we shot outdoors in West Virginia. Course was a lot of fun, emphasis on safety (as it should be). For new or experienced shooters it should be a comfortable experience.

EXCELLENT TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION!I took the NRA Pistol Basics Course with these folks. My instructor, Bill, was very knowledgeable and had real-world experience that mattered. He was patient, kind, and able to point out things I needed to learn and improve upon almost instinctively. Later on at the range, Bill gave me pointers that improved my abilities immediately.Highley recommended. I will certainly be going back to these folks for more advanced training in the future. I had a great experience in the firearm course with Bill. As an instructor, Bills pedagogy aligned with the overall learning objectives of the course. Learning tools were appropriate and easy to follow. Moreover, Bill was highly engaging in the discussion of course content and frequently did self-checks to ensure that information was grasped. This class and Bill were so outstanding that I decided to continue my learning with Bill in a one-on-one instructor setting at a shooting range. He provided real life scenarios for personal defense and use of a fire arm.

I was the only one to sign up for the Basic Pistol Shooting class on my particular day. Instead of cancelling, Bill Ezekiel and I had an excellent one-on-one class. Bill is professional and courteous. My grip and accuracy have improved, and I hope to use P&D in my advanced pistol courses.

Excellent experience. Andy and Bill were great to work with, gave great instruction, and provided an extremely safe and relaxed environment. Excellent for near-first time participants, great for getting re-familiarized, and still challenging for experienced users. Though Ive practiced at multiple ranges in the past, this was the most thorough and fun session Ive attended (especially with the El Presidente multi-target drills), and will definitely be returning for more.

Bought a Glock 19 gen 4 from Andy. He also installed my night sights on the same weapon for a very good price. Couldnt be happier with the G19 or the sights. He is also very knowledgeable about the subject matter and takes the time to answer any questions you might have. Highly recommend.

We took the Multi-State Concealed Carry Class from Protect & Defend last weekend. Our instructor Andy Rogers was great. There were people of all levels of shooting experience in the class and Andy made it interesting and informative for everyone. This was a great class to meet the requirements for applying for your concealed carry permit. We will definitely be working with Andy in the future to develop our firearms skills.10/2016 Update: My wife and I just took the Practical Pistol class last weekend and it was worth every penny. These are exercises that you will never get to do standing at the line in an indoor range. The class is excellent for both skills and confidence building and Andy is an excellent instructor. Highly recommend this class if you are going to think about concealed carry.5/2018 Update: My wife got a new pistol this winter and have been going to the indoor range to practice. We decided to take the Protect & Defends Practical Pistol class again. Another outstanding training class that has been tweaked some since we took it in Oct 2016. I absolutely recommend this class to anyone who owns a gun for self defense. Even if you dont carry and it is only for home defense, you will learn and practice skills that you cant do at an indoor range. Andy and Bill did an outstanding job on this class. It was such a good experience that we scheduled a private coaching session with Bill at a local range a couple of weeks later so that we could work on improving our accuracy. Bill is a great coach!

I took the second half of my NRA Basic Pistols Course with Bill, and it was a great experience. His instruction was thorough, and he was able to expand on the subjects that I hadn’t quite grasped during the online portion. Given his personal experience, he brought a real world element to the shooting training that was much appreciated. I will be scheduling future training sessions with him.

I took the multi-state concealed carry course and was blown away with Andys ability to connect with the group. This was a diverse class with everyone from ex military police, to house wives. Andy was able to translate this course to all of us, while making it fun. For anyone interested, I highly recomend this course.

Bill is a phenomenal instructor. I took NRAs blend instruction and Bill did an excellent job in summarizing NRAs online content plus by discussing his experiences made the course much more practical, enjoyable and comprehensive. I am a true beginner having never experienced firearms before. In light of that, I appreciated Bills patience in showing me how best to load, hold, and fire a firearm. He also discussed Range etiquette and showed me how to align and adjust my firearms sights for improved target accuracy. On the rating scale Bill is a 5+ and I look forward to taking more classes with Bill in the future!!

I took my carry and conceal class over the weekend you can see their passion for teaching gun safety I had a very mix class we all were very interactive a lot of questions Andy provided the answers to the questions that we had I cant wait to take more classes I took my carry and conceal for another state and clearly the guys that protect and defend our way more knowledgeable

I had Andy Build a holster for me and it is by far the most comfortable, easily concealed, light, and user friendly I have ever worn. I have two white hat, one crossbreed, and a couple of elastic waistband holsters. So I can say with a ton of confidence that this is the best Ive used. The draw on it is super smooth and fast. At 220 lbs I never was able to appendix carry comfortably because when sitting the gun was alway digging into my stomach. Andys design makes that a non issue.

I was looking to improve on my pistol skills in preparation for annual qualification requirements in the military. I initially planned to take a beginner NRA course but based on the course description, I was skeptic as to whether a full beginner course would be useful to me, given my skill level. I contacted Bill and explained what I needed along with my short time frame requirements and within a day, I was on the Range getting focused instruction on my technique. After a couple sessions, I felt way more comfortable and going into my qualification I was much more confident than I had been going into my previous (and first) qual. Having barely passed the first qual, anything would have been an improvement however, I scored 5 points away from an Expert classification after having worked with Bill. Highly recommended for those who wish to improve their skills without wasting time and money by going through instruction designed for someone who has never shot a gun.

This class was awesome and instructor Andy is great, because he has a sense of humor and the experience to teach it! I do not care if you are a novice or an expert you will learn something new or increase your knowledge of concealed carry. I also learned some life skills that I am able to pass on to my children, instead of explaining to them stranger danger, it is now “situational awareness” and why it is important to be aware of your surroundings and exit points at all times. If you’re looking to become the next “Dirty Harry” this class is not for you, this class is about staying focused and not a target and how to protect yourself with the use of deadly force if that is your last resort. My wife and I look forward to spending some range time with Andy because I can’t see my mistakes and I want to be able to protect my family. I had a great experience with friendly students. The instructor is very nice and knowledgeable. I learned a lot of different things, from laws to safety to carry technique. I stayed after for the offered Utah CCP class. I left there with All necessary paperwork for Utah application. That and my certificate of course completion necessary for VA application. Went to court house next business day and applied for my ccp. Waiting on it now 👌. Take this class!!

I handled pistols in the Army so I thought I needed a little rust knocked off. HA what surprise I was In for when I showed up for CCW training. I was lucky that we had a only a few of us in the class. We received hands on instruction and I got my CCW in the mail so I was ready to take on the world. NOT!! I decided after I bought a pistol that I was unsure of my competence. I contacted Andy and Bill and received an additional hour at the range, NOW I was ready for the world. NOT! I still didnt go out with my weapon due to the thought of what if. I received another hour at the range and although I am still not ready to take on the world, at least I can confidently go out without the worry of what if. I dont think my training has ended and I am sure we will be making another range date and then maybe it will be off to WV for a reality check of my skills. haha Im sure after that we will be back at the range for more competency training.I have come to the conclusion that just because I have a CCW it is an awesome responsibility to have it strapped to my hip.Thank you Andy and Bill for your patience and caring to ensure I have the training to carry with respect and that I know and understand the privilege of being allowed to do so.
