The staff is awesome. I dont know much about fancy coffee, so I stick to traditional stuff. However, I loved my drink and sampled my girlfriends mocha whatever and my moms soy latte and it seemed on point. I was there for Cars and Coffee a few times and loved all the old and new vehicles on display

The cashier on Wednesday/ Thursday morning (8:15am) was very friendly. Her suggestion was wonderful Honey nut cheerio cold coffee was wonderful. I enjoyed 😋🥰

We have been multiple times throughout the years, and in the past it had been a great stop! This most recent time though was a nightmare. The employee was helpful but made most of the drinks incorrectly and forgot espresso in most. She seemed to have a customer behind the counter with her and was very distracted. It hasn’t ruined the overall view of the coffee shop but probably won’t be back for a while.

Coffee not as hot as I like but the atmosphere was very cool, especially the hanging customer cups.

This was one of, if not the coolest coffee places I have visited...the coffee was much better than the big chains and the service was superior as well...the place reminded me of an old beatnik places and it was just really a cool place...I wishes there was a place like this in Fort Worth...

Tamp and Grind is an awesome home away from home. Almond milk and plenty of options, a chilled, funky vibe with lots of different seating options, board games and free reading material, its a great place to chill. Theres also art work for sale and indoor plants to complete the safe space. I cant wait to make a trip to Alexandria again and check out Tamp and Grind.

This place is awesome. Be patient with ordering. Takes a little time for specialty drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly batista. Most are very knowledgeable and willing to take time to brew your perfect coffee of choice

Ecclectic atmosphere..delicious coffee

Absolutely great place. Parking can be a bit iffy, though, just across the street is a bit of a parking garage that is technically the first floor of a building. The coffee is as good and the employees are very knowledgeable. The atmosphere is wonderful with music and tons of decorations and with many pieces of art from local artist and students. My last day in town the music was a little loud for my studies and I asked for them to turn it down a bit, and he did!

I love it when a coffee shop has a good drip and real mugs. These guys absolutely have that along with a great chill atmosphere. I really recommend their drip coffee, absolutely delicious. Perfect balance and aroma. I can’t stress how much I enjoyed it.

Girl who took the order was just rude. Didnt tell me when my order was ready just uhg.. she didnt tell me my brown sugar coffee was actually brown sugar cinnamon. If I was allergic it would of been bad.

Atmosphere of this hidden gem has always been lovely. The baristas are always welcoming and helpful especially when I have a hard time deciding. They also offer a wide variety of coffee and espresso drinks, flavors and brew styles.

Was in Alexandria for the day and read about this place online. The Gentleman working the counter was as polite as could be. Very professional. While I was waiting in line, one of the other customers was telling us the history of T&G. Great service, great coffee, great atmosphere!

I loved the service but the coffee was interesting. It was more expensive than i was expecting but it wasn’t unreasonable. I just wish the coffee in my drink was stronger.

Nice, spacious coffee shop for a quick chit chat or even a nice long game of chess. My iced americano was excellent and the service was as well. The only negative aspect of my experience was the location. Downtown Alexandria is usually seen as the bad part of town and it is out of the way for some people closer to uptown. Overall: I would go there again!

Very hipster. Reminds me of a Deep Ellum coffee shop. Coffee is good plus the lounge area is super chill. They also encourage you to take, read, and share books. Im a fan.

Love the iced caramel macchiato. All of the baristas are really cute and nice! Its overall very welcoming! Baked goods are good as well as the drinks.

Casual, comfortable, friendly. You dont get the speed of the big chains but they are not slow... they just take the time to serve every customer like they matter. Red velvet cheesecake cupcake was amazing. Lots of great flavor options.There is a... feel to this place; a warmth and protective feel that I dont ever find in public spaces. If I lived anywhere near here, it would be my place of choice for treats, coffee, and peace.

Nice quaint little shop that serves a wide variety of people from old to young. We meet year once or twice a yet for a group get together. Plenty to do here, games and such for everyone. I love how they repurpose things to use as tables. If you have never been you need to add this to your list of places to visit in Downtown Alexandria.

What a great little coffee shop! The service was great. Even though they were busy, there was plenty of room to sit and the atmosphere was quiet and soothing. Our family rates the coffee 5 out of 5 stars.

The cold brew is unprecedented. However, ill never return after visiting today. I understand businesses are facing challenging times adapting to COVID, but whoever the cashier was today was just a total mask policeman. I walked in with it covering my face, got a phone call and pulled it down for a split second to tell tge receiving end i was getting coffee and hung up. I was also well over 6 feet away from everyone in the building. i approach the counter and get scolded for it, despite everyone at a table not wearing a mask. Okay, whatever, could i just have a coffee? As she’s making my coffee, i look around and notice everyone else isnt wearing a mask, so i decide since im safely distanced that ill pull mine down for the time being to get some oxygen. She brings my coffee, i pull my mask up in consideration for her, and again, ANOTHER SCOLDING. I point out that im not near anyone else by a long shot and theyre not wearing their masks either. “They’re sitting at tables.” I’ll go get a subpar starbucks from here on out. At least they practice a little logic there.

Favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee.

The ambience is great. The tables are a lovely mix of cozy and conducive to laptop piddling. The tea selection is fantabulous. Oh! and eavesdropping on other customers is a pleasant intellectual reprieve from the typical grunting and posturing that you find in this general area....but its freezing in here!

I love Tamp! I go there so much! It is a great place with diverse customers and a cozy and artistic atmosphere. The coffee is amazing! Cold beer with banana foster flavoring is my favorite but everything is good.

Even though I cant go inside this place I have to be truthful. Its a lovely place quiet and the coffee is wonderful. The time I enjoyed it it was so peaceful and warm the workers where very nice but being out of a place to live fighting with and ex I cant blame them its a great place to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee

Very young spot but you see a wide age range of people there. You can bring laptops and do homework or work on projects and the noise has never been a problem for me. Directly across is beautiful artwork. This is where Alexandria does most of its festivals so you’ll always be right in the mix of things. I don’t really order the food but the drinks are awesome. Parking isn’t the best but it’s downtown so you’ll have to be willing to walk at times.

Today while taking graduation pictures, my parents and I went to visit Tamp & Grind. The coffee was the best that I have ever had. I had ordered the roasted hazelnut latte, I definitely recommend it. The lady even did a nice leaf design on the coffee.

The best iced mocha you’ll find on Earth, and a very interesting atmosphere to boot. LOTS of art, lots of space, and lots of hospitality. Come walk and explore the newly-reemerging downtown Alexandria business district, and definitely make this a stop while you’re here.

Tamp & grind is always welcoming. Everytime I go in there I am greeted by a friendly face and a smile. Their coffee is delicious and they have a great selection of teas that you can mix and match flavors you want! If you havent been then count yourself as missing out.

Tamp and grind is really historic! Not in the old way but it has great value for the downtown area and brought it some life! It triggered other businesses to pop up and bring life to this area! And then there is the coffee!!! Wow is it good and the setting is so chill and relaxed. I see all ages there with games and studying.

When they can afford it, they should try expanding somehow, theyre almost too popular for their own good!Aside from that, a wonderful experience. The staff was helpful (she was happy to talk about the different kinds of home made tea they had), the artwork is clever and nice, and the music was great

My friend and I were looking for an off-beat coffee shop in Alexandria. We stumbled upon Tamp & Grind, very interesting place! The outside is a hippie oasis, and the inside follows suit. Lots of art inside, and you can find books to read and people working on their laptops. We enjoyed our coffee. My friend grabbed a muffin and said it was tasty. We would definitely go back if we are in the area!
