This was the first and last time that I will visit a Shipley’s. I ordered some Kolaches and Apple Fritters. All kolaches, including the jalapeño ones, tasted like a small bland sausage in a buttered hotdog. The thin sliver of jalapeño didn’t add nothing to it. As for the apple fritters, they had nothing but a burnt dough taste to them. You could see ‘some’ apple portions in them, but you could not taste them.

Tried it once just to say I did, didnt miss a thing. The food was very stale and left over and jelly donut had a dot of jelly the size of a dime. Dunkin Donuts never disappoints

We ordered kolaches and glazed donuts, milk and coffee. The kolache bread was not as good as it is at other Shipleys. The donuts were terrible. There were no holes in the donuts. When I asked the to young women why there werent holes, I was told that they ran out of glazed donuts and just decided that theyd give us donuts that were made to put filling in, WITHOUT EVEN ASKING/TELLING US. Had they told us up front that they ran out of glazed, we would have gone elsewhere for breakfast. Unfilled donuts do not taste the same as glazed donuts with the hole in them, which have more glaze and are fried more . I cant believe this generation of people- cant be honest, just try to pull one over on customers.

Just wanted to try a different place. Got kolaches and they stated they had no regular ones only sausage and cheese or no cheese so I was confused there. But served cold and The Kolaches taste like what a school would serve for breakfast .

My two year old loves herself some donuts so it was only fitting to have her a donut birthday party. Instead of cake we decided to make an order with them for donuts. The moment I was on the phone I was treated with respect and they welcomed my large order. My experience with them that Saturday morning was just the same. All four dozen donuts including a special made donut for the birthday girl was one fresh and ready for pick up. I would highly recommend them for any special occasion you may need donuts!

Went there today for the first time. My daughter noticed they sold Hot Chocolate and wanted some because it was the perfect weather for it. We asked if it was made with water or milk, the owner came to the window and explained that it was made with water but he could make it with milk if we wanted. He then made it fresh for my daughter. While we waited we had a donut, which are VERY delicious. The owner then came back with our hot chocolate which was also VERY delicious. I definitely recommend this place and want to say thank you for the great service.

This morning was my first and last time coming here. I show up 20 minutes after opening and ordered a dozen donuts. I got told bluntly that they dont have a dozen mixed donuts. Theyre understaffed. And then she just stared at me instead of offering up any other information... Like, we have these items ready now, if youd like any of those, or we will have some more items ready in about 20 minutes.. If youd like to drink a coffee and wait?. NOTHING. Just a straight up, cold we dont have a dozen mixed donuts. We are understaffed. and then stared at until I just left... What a terrible first and last impression of this place. Wont be back.

Went into Shipley Donuts for the first time today. We were greeted by the owner, Ryan, who gave us a sample of his glazed donut while we made our selections-- still warm, and it was so light it melted in our mouths. He was very patient with our questions, and we could see that he took great pride in his work. Everyone back home enjoyed our selections. Ryan told us that he also makes custom orders for weddings, church, or other special eventsGive him a call-- you wont be disappointed..

When they get your order right, its great. However, twice in the past couple months when Ive ordered a Big Bold/Earl with sausage and cheese, they accidentally gave me ones with jalapeno. Not a fun surprise.

Absolutely delicious. We got there a little early and they bent over backwards to accommodate our order. We even got a free donut while waiting. They are the greatest. Very pleasant employees. Over all very wonderful experience.

You guys have great donuts but you we’re closed today at 2:48 despite the sign, google maps and the note on your door.

I have loved shipleys since forever but something has changed about the donuts. Ive been trying to figure it out for months, the dough is thicker, theyre not as soft and fresh as they used to be. Where are the twist chocolate iced, can those come back? The customer service is usually good, though, always greeted with a smile.

The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the store was clean. I got a kolache and a danish, wasnt too impressed. It was close to closing on a Sunday when I visited, and the kolache had been in the warmer all morning and was crunchy. It didnt bother me enough to prevent a return visit. Ill just go during fresh hours.

The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but didnt listen to what I wanted. I ordered 2 dozen mixed donuts but the one who waited on me immediately went into the back and started filling the boxes with glazed. I had to get the attention of another worker to stop her and get what I wanted. Every other donut place asks you which donuts you want to choose but I guess Shipleys donuts chooses for you.As to the donuts themselves, they are very greasy. I never thought it possible to ruin a plain, glazed donut but I was wrong. The jelly filled were very good despite the greasy dough. I will not be back because there are other places with better donuts and service.

So friendly!! I recommend the iced nut roll and the bigger kolaches. So delicious!! Im sure everything is good! Their donut holes are the best!!! Crispy and crunchy, they dont taste like fryer oil, they actually taste like the vanilla icing!! My favorite for sure!!! Thanks for coming to Abilene!!

Very Respectable location who goes the extra mile to please the customer Millitary discounts and a bonus doughnut for a lucky customer daily i go to every doughnut location in the big country and Shipleys is the one place My family pics every Saturday so I figured Ill outsmart everyone go to a different location and put them in the shipley box nedless to say it didnt work.Everyone keep saying something off these doughnuts taste greasy or we NEED to call the manager because THESE doughnuts not right.

Their donuts are great! The kolaches were a little on the smaller size, but good quality, and really great menu. The design of the shop is noce too. Very straight forward, but appealing.

We have tried several times to get food from here. every time we come at 7-8 am they are out of everything. the staff is rude. not worth it at all. we give up trying to even eat here anymore. i mean it is 8 am, how are you already out of stuff?????

Grew up in Houston on Shipley’s and this is by far the worst one I have been too. Which is pretty disappointing. Service is extremely slow, they are always out of stuff and their kolaches are crazy over cooked once you get them. I did have two good experiences early in the morning in the ost but if you go after 10pm all the food is old. I feel bad for the people coming here for the first time and the experience being ruined... makes me miss the Shipley’s back home. This location has a lot of potential and I hope they get better because I come from the north side just for it. But the inconsistency is to bad to be enjoyable.

I have been to Shipleys all over the Lonestar state and this place is great. I love a good kolache and this Shipleys does not disappoint. Speaking of not disappointing I judge a donut establishment by the plain Hot Glazed and I would put this against just about any of the Shipleys I have been to.

The worst doughnut place Ive been to. The kolaches had at least twice as much bread as necessary and the doughnuts were so plain as to be almost watery. Plus, the employee seemed confused by the very concept of doughnuts, and had no idea what the strawberry doughnuts were. I will definitely not be returning. I will be going someplace that at least knows how to spell doughnuts from now on.

Donuts were okay but thats about it. They were overcooked and actually tasted burnt. Didnt seem fresh either They should of been at 7am. I also had to repeat myself many times for the gal up front to understand me. Will not give them business again due to that.

Their kolaches are not good at all, & you pay $1 for a bite size donut that’s not even that great. I will not be coming back. The place is over priced for such awful food.
