Love this place! It feels like pulling up a seat in someone’s home for a bite to eat. Everyone is very sweet, especially Becky who will remember your name and order. The food is simple, but enjoyable and filled with the nostalgia of family. I’m a big fan of the miss-matched mugs which again makes it feel like home. Planning to become a regular :)

Great diner.This local spot is small on space but big on service.Table and counter top seating available for small groups of about 6-7 at one table top.All the basic food options are available and served with care. Coffee is great and the chocolate milk is hand made! Thats right, hand made chocolate milk!Restrooms are very small and would not likely be wheelchair accessible.Staff are great, very helpful and attentive.

Chronicles of the WildmanI like to ride around and find diners in the North Country. I visited Brookside Diner on 6 July 2018. I walk in and immediately see the bar. Theres about 15 bar stools wrapping nearly all around the diner. Im quite partial to bar stools, so this made me happy. I ordered a sausage plate with over easy eggs and home fries. It was such a large plate that I couldnt finish it. It was quite scrumptious and I left satisfied. Lets address the missing star. If I could remove only half a star, I would have. They had supplies stacked (neatly) in a corner of the dining room; cups, sugar packets, to go boxes, and vacuums. This very well might have been necessary due to a lack of a back room and didnt take away from my experience. I had and otherwise pleasant breakfast. I would visit again.Update: I have upgraded to 5 stars because the staff of Brookside helped me while I was recovering from a motorcycle accident. The are fun, friendly, and funny. I like hanging out with the regulars as well. Thank you, Brookside!

This place was a great pick! I am not familiar with Watertown and I drove here at 6am to drop my friend off for surgery. Knowing I was going to have a long day out and about, I decided to start with a nice breakfast. The Brookside regulars were there and as soon as I walked in everyone said good morning. I immediately felt at ease and knew this was a safe and welcoming place. Felt just like going to a good friends house! The food and coffee were classic diner style. I got bottomless coffee, a blueberry pancake, eggs, toast, and home fries for under $10! Id definitely recommend this place!

The owner (looks like Skipper from Gilligans Island.) was rude. I parked like everyone else and then I got blocked in and the owner said it was my fault. I blocked myself in. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend. The parking is horrible there. Dont go there. (You might get blocked in by the Skippers wife.) The Skippers wife thinks her and her husband, brother, partner, fiance, whatever he is, are better than everyone else. There are A LOT more restaurants to eat at than that Chum Bucket, hole in the wall place.

Best diner in the area! Great service, amazing food, and quiet and enjoyable atmosphere! Best breakfast Ive had at a diner in years! Would highly recommend to anyone! Even my husband was full and that never happens! Id give it 10 out of 5 stars!

Amazing. As I have posted before I judge off of biscuits and gravy if a place has it, well folks this place has them and I want more! Most times when it comes to gravy you have to add some salt and pepper or a little hot sauce to enhance flavor. Not with this sausage gravy. Just enough spice to give it a little kick but not too much to take away the sausage flavor. The biscuits underneath were soft and fluffy. I didnt even have to order extra gravy because it came with enough on own.The atmosphere was also enjoyable. Filled with locals laughing and joking around with each other and the waitress. She was full of smiles and very attentive. Nice little place to start the morning in. Will be back for sure.

Everything a diner is supposed to be and nothing more. The food was very good, the prices were fair, and the services was excellent. We were glad we chose this for our motorcycle breakfast stop.

My regular lunch spot for several good reasons: 1. Good food with large portions; 2. Great service from friendly staff; and 3. A motley crew of regulars that are always enjoyable.

1st time, nice cozy little place. Breakfast was good, prices are good, service was a little slow, but did only see one waiters.

The food was very good... Just what you would expect from a dinner. Nothing fancy but very tasty. We waited a little bit but there was only 1 waitress for the whole diner. She did the job as well as can be expected considering they were kinda busy.

Just had breakfast there. Very good. Nothing over cooked and nothing under cooked. The best part was having enough butter on my toast 😋

This a real local hangout. No frills, great food. We got there about 15 minutes before closing (we didnt know). They gave us great service and great food. The cook was awesome. A great hole in the wall place... just the way I like it.

I have never been dissapointed by the food quality or the people quality here in my entire life. Everything is perfect and they’re not given enough credit for just how good they are in my opinion. Tiny little hole in the wall greasy spoon, family cooking, family operated and owned. Completely unpretentious, friendly, very inexpensive, and obviously beloved by locals. We had the all day breakfast. It was greasy and tasty, and the coffee was pretty darn good. Best of all, the coffee was served in huge cups.Im really happy we stopped there. Its a slice of life that is disappearing too fast. I hope the Brookside Diner will be around for a very long time.

This is a regular stop for me on Tuesdays for breakfast. Pleasant staff, familiar fellow diners, and good diner breakfast. Not fancy, not complicated, not expensive, but good.
