The service and food was great! We got the grilled pizza, margarita pizza, and penne alla vodka and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was good, constant water refills and the chef was so kind as to gift us these cannolis. Besides that, there was a rude bald man that when I tried to use the bathroom he bashed on me and I found that rude.

My family and I had a horrible experience here. We waited over an hour for our food. The server said they were backed up, but I noticed that were people seated 30 minutes after us who received their food around the same time we did. More than halfway into our wait, the server said food would come in “one minute” even though that did not end up being the case. We mentioned that we running short on time because of a show we had at 8:00 (and were subsequently late to) though it doesn’t seem our concerns were taken seriously. The only thing this place did quickly was hand us the check.

I had heard good things about Alta Strada, but my experience was not good at all. This is an Italian restaurant that has a big brunch following on Sundays and for good reason - they include booze for a very reasonable price which may be a reason for coming in itself. My issue with the Alta was with the food and service. The brunch menu allows you to order three items including a pasta. I ordered the salad, Brussels and pasta. The salad did not make it until after I was finished because the waiter forgot it. To be fair the Brussels were really good, slightly crispy and cooked just right. However, the pasta which was spaghetti with course pepper was amateur hour. The noodles were something you could buy at the grocery store along with this watery sauce - not at all of fine restaurant quality. If you are going for the booze this may be your place, but if it is for the food and service, look elsewhere..

We ordered delivery for restaurant week. Overall, pretty good Italian food. Meatballs were quite good, Cesar salad was decent, could’ve used a bit more flavor, rigatoni bolognese and penne vodka with chicken were the highlights for sure. Pasta was tasty and sauce was delicious. Penne would get again for sure. Tiramisu and cannolis were also solid deserts. Cant wait to try for brunch when COVID ends

The waitress was very attentive as my glass was never allowed to be almost empty. The baked ziti had a very generous portion size with a thick meaty sweet sauce with a thick layer of cheese. The Bolognese had a oily spicy sauce with a tasty mix of meats. The eggplant parm was delicious with a massive portion, it was soft but held its form

First off, I love Italian food, it’s a favorite. So I know what’s what. I ordered 2 of the safest options; pasta bolognese and garlic bread. Cost is about $38, not including tip. The presentation was great, couldn’t wait to dive in. However, I was quickly disappointed, as the sauce was so bland and more of a watered down oil sauce with beef that wasn’t seasoned properly. Same story with the garlic bread. The bread was oily and without quality taste. Like even if it would’ve been bread with plain olive oil and they forgot the garlic that would’ve been fine because that usually tastes good. The bread was not tasty, nor the bolognese or the cheese grating. Both needed a salt and garlic flavor intervention. In the end, 95% of it went in the trash along with $50 (food + drivers tip). How are the reviews below even legitimate if you mess up garlic bread? Guess brunch is where it’s at here and not dinner.

Me and my significant other , we were really excited to try this place out for our anniversary. I reserved for indoor sitting originally, once in the front door since it was nice outside, I thought I gave it a try to ask if we can be seated outside. A short Italian gentleman dismissively stated that we are all booked for the night, and I stated oh we actually have a reservation. And he responded back yes but inside but very demeaning tone. That response is so uncalled for, I was just trying to ask to see if there was a possibility to eat outside. If the establishment is reading this please choose a different attendant at the front this is not a good look especially if customers are interested in checking the place out. I understand that me and my significant other are on the younger end, but that still doesnt permit of having this type of attitude especially in the main funnel of the establishment. Once seated inside, the drinks were done pretty well and the food was ok. Lets just say the quality of the food (depending on the item) is not bad but it is not worth the steep price we paid that day.

They have an excellent brunch with a good price for an all you can eat. The menu has different and delicious options. The Carbonara is my favorite because the pancetta is super crunch and they don’t use a lot of fat parts. So it’s perfect. For dessert I would the Tiramisu because it is incredible. Speechless with this tiramisu...On another day I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and it’s deliciousssss too!! Super tasty!!!

Cars are towed horribly here without any regard for someone’s property. I wouldn’t even bother visiting or having a visitor because the chances getting their cars towed and destroyed is 90%. Alta Strada was a solid experience. We went for dinner. The decor is minimal and nothing riveting. The service was great. The prices were higher than expected, but nothing out of the ordinary for DC. Okay great pasta. In case you were wondering the best pasta on the menu according to every review I read is the Tagliatelle which is honestly just as good as everyone on the internet says it is. Also pictured was the fettuccine which while delicious was not as good as the TAGLIATELLE. But would definitely go again bc I still want to try their regular spaghetti and tiramisu. Let the record show though that the lemons in my Diet Coke I would classify as greatest of all time. My only complaint was that I only drank two not thee but our service was still great.

We love this place. Amazing food! We came to eat on Wednesday and had a great time. The black manager is very attentive. The only thing that we found odd was after she came to our table to see how everything was going and right after she walked away a gentleman I think his name was Mike or Milton came right after her and was asking us how our food was but we could barley understand anything he was saying and was kinda confuse because the manager had just left and he wasn’t our server. The food was so bland we couldn’t believe it. It is extremely overpriced for what they give you. The flavor of the spaghetti is reminiscent of water. The chicken Parmesan lacked any seasoning let alone salt. They charge you $4 to add spaghetti to the chicken parm, which why isn’t it included already but ok, and it is a full serving but the spaghetti entree with meatballs is almost $25. Everything was so tasteless. Cheap ingredients and then overcharging customers. Smh. The best thing was the pizza and it was just ok.

I go to Alta Strada a few times a year and was glad to swing by and find they had just rolled out their fall menu this weekend. The new roasted cauliflower was delicious! My husband had the classic chicken parm which he loved and we tried the bombolini and chocolate cake, which were indeed both moist and decadent desserts. The garlic bread unfortunately was a bit of a miss, kinda dry and not a lot of flavor, although the tomato basil dipping sauce was good! Anyway, another enjoyable visit. The pizzas and pastas are always great comfort food as well and I like their outdoor seating these days.

This Italian restaurant is a pleasant surprise. It has a bar to the left once you enter then you see the kitchen straight ahead. Theres an intimate dining area to the right which is good for dates and dinner with close friends.Their signature appetizer is crunchy meatballs which are cooked with a lightly breaded consistency making them crunchy. There are plenty of pasta dishes on the menu which isnt overwhelming to choose from and meat and cheese plates to start your dining experience along with great Italian wine to wash all that goodness down. The staff is friendly and not overly attentive which is what I prefer so you can enjoy your company. As you leave the restaurant, there is another side of the restaurant with a bar and sitting that looks appropriate for small group events.

The chicken parmigiana was extraordinary! Fork tender, really great tasting breading and just enough re sauce to keep it moist but not swimming in it. Plus the portion was a very generous size. To preface, I used to enjoy brunch and dinner at Alta Strada, but recent changes have made it a place that I will avoid considering there are so many other great options in the area. It is now an Italian restaurant that has a brunch menu with entrees that range from Shakshuka and BLTs to brisket and cheeseburgers. The closest thing to something Italian was a caprese sandwich. Thus, we wanted to order off of the dinner menu, but that wasnt allowed since we ordered drinks on the brunch menu. Overall, I would have given this restaurant five stars before COVID, but many other restaurants have adapted much better than Alta Strada to the current conditions.
