I love Hana Market! It’s a small store, but it’s packed with tons of yummy snacks and ingredients I can’t find anywhere else. My first visit was to find だしand Blendy coffee which I didn’t have any luck finding around DC. There are also a million flavors of Kit Kats 😋 Everyone who works here is so sweet too. ありがとうございます!

Literally the best place to go for Japanese groceries. From soup bases to snacks to tableware to shower products to non-alcoholic beverages to frozen imported meats/fish.Prices can sometimes (emphasis on sometimes) seem inflated, but I assure you, its almost always worth it. For the things that do seem on the expensive side, take into account how much they cost in actual stores in Japan and add the fact that everything is imported here.Ive been going to this store since they opened and the man who owns/runs it is the sweetest and hardest working dude. Which translates well to his staff, as theyre also all awesome. For more recent information youre probably here for: yes, they take into account safety and follow regulations and procedures related to COVID-19. It is a very small store, so if you are more wary than I am (and lemme tell you, I am VERY wary), maybe go here during off hours to avoid being close to anyone.Photo shows just some of the things they carry (they rotate a good number of snacks and drinks so sometimes you wont find some things again) and how much I end up buying whenever I go in thinking I just want a couple drinks or a couple snacks.

Hana is right on the corner of my block so for me its more than a speciality shop, its my local convenience store if I need a vegetable, tofu, rice, meat or fish at the last minute for dinner or something to take to a casual dinner with friends (everyone likes Pocky sticks). Really an great selection of high quality Japanese goods including sushi-grade frozen fish and fresh vegetables packed in a tiny space & prices compare with much bigger mega stores in the burbs. Photo is a meal entirely from Hana (except the lemon & red pepper) - my version of beach calamari, post DNC (apologies to RI). Hana is really an asset to the neighborhood.

A very small and intimate market that holds an item for every aspect of life: kitchenware, beauty products, snacks, meats, rice, greens, and coffee. If you dont know the Japanese product you are looking at, there are very few translations. You may have a gamble for the new snack you are trying. The produce is fresh and packaged cleanly for easy selection. The owner(?) is kind and helpful. When I was ignorant of the sushi rice selection, she offered her opinion of her favorite to help me decide.COVID regulations restrict the number of patrons and there is hand sanitizer at the counter.

This place is amazing. Having moved away from Tokyo years ago Ive been search for a little bit of Japan and this is it. Staff is amazingly nice and the products are straight from Japan.I bought the onigiri as they came in the door, 12:30 pm, and they were fresh and delicious. Favorite was absolutely the beef that was a bulgogi type of beef. Washed down with the Vitamin B drink, pictured, and I was back to my middle school in Japan. I will absolutely be visiting this place at least once a month to get my Japan fill.

Small business owned by very friendly and courteous individuals who are willing to offer advice and insight to making traditional Japanese/Korean cuisine. Wide array of snacks and treats I never thought I would see outside of Japan, as well as ingredients you either get overcharged for in regular stores or cannot find at all. Theyve got spices, produce, meat, and aforementioned snacks. I find excuses to make my way across town during lunch time for the rice balls. They have a credit card minimum of 5 dollars?
