Wessel Gun Shop is a fantastic store. I have been going to them for the last 3 or 4 years to handle my firearm transfers as from my experience their transfer charge is very reasonable. Today was the first time I purchased a gun directly from them and I am beyond happy and satisfied. Steve and Ken were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The shotgun I bought was an incredible deal and less than half the price of most that I found online. Their prices on new guns are also pretty reasonable considering the demand and lack of availability of many guns and ammo right now. I noticed that some reviewers complain of a lack of customer service, this is a small shop with few employees, just be patient and they will get to you when they can. It is not a good idea in my opinion to be in a rush when shopping for a new firearm. Wessel Gun Shop has always been good to me and I will continue to give them my buisness whenever I can!

More than happy to take your money and sell you a gun.But if there is a problem,They are very reluctant to try to help you.Also do not let their gunsmith touch your gun.Their gunsmith is a hack and willl create a dangerous condition.

Great gun shop in my opinion. My late husband used them frequently for supplies and repairs so when I recently purchased a gun online I chose Wessel’s as my FFL dealer. Staff was friendly, polite, and efficient. I will definitely be using them again.

Steve is a great guy to deal with. Richard is the best gunsmith in Michigan.If he cant fix your gun, no one can! 5 star shop!!

I use Wessels. Prices are fair. Very friendly fellas there. To buy on line and ship to them is only 40$ transfer fee.. Others are much much more. I have not had any repairs done ....even if just window shopping or looking to tell stories ..they are local ...and Hey..you might just see something you want. They are worth stopping by.

Needed a find certain firearm and at the time few were available. They happened to have one, but it was about $70 more than i had seen it advertised before from multiple other stores before it was sold out or on B/O. Unfortunately, i need that specific brand and firearm for an immediate replacement so i had little choice, they had it, so i paid the gouging, which was my choice, but was not thrilled about it. Was asked if i needed ammo or accessories and declined, just though that maybe others things were priced higher than normal. Glad i waited as after i got home, went online and found the accessories for half the price and ammo about 1/3 cheaper from other firearms stores in my area. People were helpful and purchase was fast but from my limited experience they are either very overpriced or highly price gouging during these times.

Outrageous prices for mostly USED guns. The owner/employee that is always in there when I go in is very smug and arrogant. Just go elsewhere to grab NEW guns and great service.

This place is getting bad reviews for no reason. I have been taking my 1911 Colt Combat Commander there for maintenance and repair work for over ten years. This handgun was made in 1973 and was the duty weapon of a police officer who sold it to me back in the early 1990s. The weapon is 42 years old and still fires beautifully. I recently went in for a complete overhaul. I’ve put over 300 rounds through it without a single problem. They even asked me how well it worked when I visited several weeks later, making sure there were no problems.Their work is top-notch. They honestly strive to do the best. If they cannot work on your firearm, they will tell you and help to find the best company who can.As to customer service? These people are direct, honest, and have a slightly sarcastic sense of humor. They have great knowledge, honest opinions, and enjoy working with gun people. Best of all, if they don’t know the answer, they will tell you and give you their opinion or honest, educated guess while letting you KNOW that this is an opinion or guess.They saved me money by listening to my needs and recommending what works best. I’ve visited this shop with a match shooter, with my girlfriend, and alone. They are not afraid to state opposing positions with their reasoning’s. This allows you to make the best educated decision possible for you and your needs.So far, I have used both their gun smiths and have bought three handguns from them. Each time I visit, I enjoy the discussions and end up feeling that my knowledge of handguns has increased.PS If you ask a stupid question, they will answer. Their tone will indicate that it was stupid and you should re-evaluate your thinking. These are weapons, tools that when misused can cause serious injury and death. If you cannot handle this, perhaps you should take up a different hobby. I prefer to be notified when I’m being dumb with this much on the line.

Ive bought a couple guns and a AR lower here. I mostly do my FFL transfers here. Ive never had a problem with customer service even with the unfriendly big guy in the chair behind the counter and Ive had a couple transactions with him. Steve the other guy behind the counter is awesome and more outgoing. Yes this is your small old school gun shop and sometimes youre not going to get someone behind the counter that is always happy friendly, Or maybe they just dont tolerate bs and ignorance...

My experience at weasel was very enjoyable and educational. The guys at the store are very friendly and when it come down to questioning they would give you answers to the best of there ability and love the environment. Old school is the way to go

Im not a gun guy, and walked in with a used shotgun I bought at a show. It wasnt working for what I wanted to use it for (clays), and I thought it might need a good cleaning. The gunsmith, Richard, took it apart and showed me that it just needed oil and heavier shot to work properly. Then he recommended guns that would work better for my purposes. He didnt charge me a dime. I dont know where these negative reviews are coming from, but they all mention rude staff. Nobody was rude to me. That said, if you come into a gun shop with a bad attitude, or bad intentions, I could see where some old school gun guys might be less than friendly. This aint McDonalds. The customer isnt always right. This is a business that deals in potentially deadly weapons. If a young hoodlum comes in fuming mad and demands a gun, and the staff turns him away, is that rudeness, or just good ethics?

It would be nice if a business was actually open the hours it advertises

Have bought two pistols here as well as having guns cleaned and services. Have always been treated fairly and given good service.

I prefer to buy my guns here rather than other big gun stores. Its seems like a small family run shop which i like. The guy behind the counter, Steve has always been very warm. Dont know about the other guys there as i always delt with him. I kind of like the old school look of this shop.

Very limited selection of firearms. Used firearm prices are very reasonable. However, old heavy set fellow at the counter was not friendly. The lady at the shop was friendly. Didnt interact with the other gentleman.

Guy behind the counter was rude, smart mouth, and racist to people of color and we we’re spending the most money. A lady not our color came in spend $20 and he was very polite and patient with her. I will never come to this gun shop ever again.

Very rude when I spoke to someone over the phone about a transfer. I was accused of doing something illegal because my husband who is a licensed ccw holder used my credit card to order his hand gun. We order guns offline and we have never been accuse of doing anything illegal. Felt disrespect. Would not recommend them to anyone.

No frills gun shop. I purchased after market stuff for one of my firearms, called them to see if they would install and was told yes. When I arrived, one of the guys yelled at the other guy for telling me they could install my sights and trigger. Its an okay shop, however there are other options not too far.

Been there once when I was looking for a pistol a few years ago. They had no selection to speak of. As I remember just few old WWII or Korea era looking rifles. As far as the customer service goes, like mostly everyone else here I didnt get any. No one greeted me, they were talking in the back and I had to get their attention. They were not rude, but felt like they could care less who I was. I spent over an hour trying to find the place (somewhat new to the area at the time) and I left feeling like it was the biggest waste of time.Theres a lot of better retailers to buy from. At the time I ended up buying from Firing Line in Westland. Not sure if theyre still in business. But at the time, prices and selection were awesome.Another place I highly recommend if you dont mind a drive is Bares (Bears?) Sport Shop in St Charles, MI. Bought a 1911 from them and they beat Metro-Detroit prices by a few hundred dollars.

I will never go back to this store. Empty shelves and rude guy behind the counter. He didnt even so much as look up at me when I came in, and I had to greet HIM. He proceeded to take the stance of I know more about guns than you and Im not afraid to show it. Any question I asked was received by a smug quip from this pudgy little prick. People can buy guns anywhere now. Go ahead and close up shop, guys, if you dont like dealing with the public. I was going to buy a Glock THAT DAY, but I will give my business to someone else.

We have been to 5 different guns shops in the last month looking to buy a gun for my wife. Most of the stores were over priced and the people were just plain Arrogant and Cocky. Wessels took the time to explain to my wife and I the Pros and Cons of the models we were looking at. They had the Brand and Model we were looking for. Its a little further drive for us , but we are very Pleased with our purchase.

Tried to get firearm shipped to a FFL dealer & called them. Very rude if we got it in stock we will refuse it. Huh? Ok gave model number & rushed me off the phone smh! I guess that means you got it in stock huh? Poor customer service. I guess action impact it is, forget about little rinky dinky gun shops like this!

Wen I dropped it off they did not say how long it would take to fix it so I called and later found out it would take 2weeks for the to even look at it if I would have known I never would have left it
