They did not want to work on my car after spending over $2800 on repairs.Continued to have more problems after leaving their shop...Called my car old and when I asked for the owner. SAM lied and said he is the owner and called himself (Franco). Theyll take your money and do sloppy work. Dont waste your time.

Hello good evening just wanted to give a big thanks to the crew at Detroit muffler and brakes on 8 mile for being very professional. My ac was not blowing out cold very hot they fixed it for me could of charged me a lot of money because I would of paid it but needed very little thanks guys. These guys are great and professional u pay for what u get and u have me for life.

Came in to get my exhaust system taken care of and Sammie definitely looked out for me! He was professional and patient! I’m bringing my other car up here soon! Never had a great experience at a muffler shop in Detroit until I came to Detroit Mufflers & Brakes! I recommend everyone to go there!!

Went in to have the brakes checked n bleed out all 4 lines. Daughter just purchased a used old vechile. 3 of 4 lines replaced! Who does this? So lucky it busted when she got to my home, as it didnt happen while driving. So we got a new line, I removed it n replaced with new. So I told her need to take it in to get it checked. They couldnt have been any nicer. From the front desk to the mechanics. Not often u run into a great group of people all friendly all polite!!!!! I say not the cheapest not the most expensive. But definitely the friendlest of people. Even the mechanics not working on wore smiles ask if we needed anything like coffee. Now thats service, I miss this in places now, as I grew up during the 70s.would send all that ask these are the guys (and gals) to go to. Thank you for the great service.

Have paid for a fuel pump to be replaced, and told that they have to keep truck overnight to see if the fuel pump I paid for is bad. It has a bad pressure valve and it is all one unit...so it is faulty. Why not do the right thing for that you not delivering what you have been paid for?.have been paid to do. Take responsibility

They are rip-offs do not go here

For years I have been dealing with check engine light and traction control light. Both problems were connected. Has been going on for 3 years. Nobody could correct the issue. Other places never diagnosed it properly. Spent over $600 and still not fixed. Sam diagnosed it as an exhaust leak causing the whole problem. Some shops told me $1200+. He welded one spot for $95 and it has worked fine for the past 9 months. Taking car there from Bloomfield Hills isnt easy for me but it was completely worth it. Sam definitely knows what is doing.Especially with exhaust work.

This place is A RIP OFF. THEY PUT USED PARTS ON MY TRUCK AND CHARGED ME FOR NEW PARTS. SAM DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK ON CARS. HE IS A CRACK HEAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPORTED.. THIS PLACE PUTS OLD PARTS ON YOUR CAR AND CHARGES FOR NEW ONES..

Came to the shop to get work done on a car I was going to sell! It was time sensitive, Needed a lot of work, and needed to get a great price! I was really nervous being a female coming into a shop by myself! After talking to the great staff especially “Sam” (made me feel like family) there I was assured to have the car done in a timely matter and a great price! I picked up the car with everything was done right and I had inspected at a dealer right after and I sold it the very next day! I currently have a 06 impala, I was driving down the road and my brake pedal was going down the floor, I pulled up to Detroit mufflers and they showed me that my brake lines were leaking! I appreciate them a lot over there cause that could of been my life.Thank yah again.

Was told my exhaust hangers were broken, thinking I didnt know about cars, I proceeded to point out they were fine. Was charged over the top price to install 2 flex pipes. When asked why the price was so high, they claimed the flex pipes cost $150 each.(parts) when they cost no more than $40 brand new. Would have been a great experience if I wasnt being lied to the whole time. Extreme rip off, save your money and go somewhere that doesnt rip off customers

I went there for a inspection on my vehicle and i was leaking coolant, all it was, was a hose. i appreciate Detroit Mufflers, my engine could of overheated! thankyouuuuu

Concern my brakes were making a clumping sound when stopping. After my car was checked out I was informed I needed front brakes and rotor. Umm, you replace front and rear last year. I was told you need them. Then I was told I needed an axel on the driver side and a strut on the rear. Okay, you are the mechanic. The cost was $675 within minutes I return because my brakes still made the same sound and now there is a clanking sound rear end. This was on a Saturday, so I was told to come back Monday. On Monday the clanking sound was repaired and they see nothing wrong with my brakes. There computer scans no codes except number 5 coil is mis fireing, wow had no problem except brakes before I came here.In 2 days my ABS light is on my brakes when stopping still make clumping sound. So now I have to pay another facility to correct there error and I cant even drive my car. This business needs to be investigated by Michigan Department Of State.I took my car to another shop and had the 5th coil installed and ABS diagnosed. The mechanic stated its your pump or wires.Sam the owner kept my car overnight, he stated My ABS light is on because it needs a ABS pump. Sam repaired 2 wires that were bad he stated to me. He also stated he wanted to make sure My car was safe to drive. Sam assured me that My car is safe to drive. Wether I needed new brakes and rotor, dont think so.I also like to thank Sam for bringing to my attention about my tires.

High priced. They said I needed rotors and wheel bearing hubs. But it ended up i only need rotors and break pads. So I passed on having the work done. And saved over $500.00 dollars.
