Outstanding service. I arrived at the store at 4:50 pm 10 minutes before they close and they absolutely were awesome. The staff is very friendly very professional and they took the time to explain why a certain chain wouldn’t fit on my stihl chainsaw. In addition I had a Troy built attachment mini chainsaw he actually made the chain and put it on and it worked like a champ. Jim was the service agent that helped me very knowledgeable and the rest of the staff was really friendly. Thanks for the great service I will be going back there to get all my garden equipment and having it serviced there also.

I went trying to decide on a walk behind self propelled mower. Matt Barnes was super in helping me to review features across different models and manufacturers. He did not rush me but treated me as if I were the most important person in the store.When I decided upon which lawnmower to purchase and Matt was helping me to load it in my truck, Matt offered to show me how the mower worked. Fantastic! The words in the owners manual is good, but a hands on step by step tips on how to use all the features, this was over the top.I will definitely do business here again.

Bought a Toro time cutter as well as the bagger for it almost 2 months ago. The mower is amazing but I never got the bagger after they told us about a week for it to come in. I just checked on it and apparently its back ordered. I get it thats not your fault. But I got told that there is no way for them to see its back ordered.How can you not know for almost 2 months? Absolutely no communication with the customer. A very poor performance guys.

I was not impressed. Terrible service. I would not recommend taking anything to be fixed at this location. Took our chop saw apart and did not put it back together missing some pieces. Gave us the run around. They were interested in selling us a new piece of equipment. I feel they were dishonest people.

Matt Barnes is the man!! I’ve unfortunately had to buy a new set of equipment after having mine stolen out of the back of my trailer while on a job. Matt had to stay after hours, along with another salesman(I’m sorry I can’t remember your name 😞), and build me 5 new pieces of equipment and go back through the system to get serial numbers for stolen equipment. I’ve always done business with him and he’s very knowledgeable with products and always goes above and beyond what he has to. Thank you so much!! Dropped my toro lawn mower off over two weeks ago. Called them about a week into it for an update and they said a diagnostic was done and was waiting for my approval (which was news to me because no one had called). I, however, gave them my approval to do the work needed. I assumed at that point that they would order the parts needed and start work. I hadnt heard from them as the second week of my lawn mowers stay there started so I called them again for an update. They said it should be ready in a couple days. I called a couple days later and the parts still hadnt been ordered. I just went and picked my mower up and will never do any business with them again.Update: Chad, who runs the store just called me to talk about my experience. I really appreciate him reaching out and WILL do business with them in the future.

I bought a Honda mower today for the same price as Home Depot at Land and Coates. They setup the mower to speciation (including gas), provide a full demonstration, and deliver for free! For free! Looking at their website was kind of intimidatingβ€”very high end, quality stuff. My suggestion is to go anyway. I’m glad I did..

He was snippy and dismissive with me as well as the guy helping me and wouldnt stick to his own customer, dragging out what would have been a simple transaction without his interference. They are not friendly. They ack smudge. Maybe they need to hire some females. Don’t they care about getting business. They don’t welcome you to the store. They don’t even have hours of operation on the doors at the Chesapeake store. The only reason I go there is the brand of lawn equipment. Do they not have to worry about getting business. They also charge a lot to repair equipment. You’d think they had doctor’s degree in lawn mower repair.

I sent them an inquiry about generators and not only received a same day response (on a holiday weekend), but also received timely delivery of 2 new Honda Generators fueled and ready to run. The price was very competitive. I dont usually buy from a local brick and mortar store but their price was equal to the big online retailer, delivery was free, and they will do the warrantee work should the need arise. Ill use Land And Coates for future purchases.

Service like Ive never had anywhere else. Just bought a Toro Timesaver 3225 with bagger. My sales rep was Christian. Nothing but first rate service. Christian made good suggestions and had everything ready.....with delivery to my home.....inside 24 hours. The other city counter salesmen were notably very efficient in their dealings with the customers that were coming in the whole time Christian was taking care of my needs. Thanks to Chad, Service Director, for prepping my new mower.

I purchased a chainsaw for my husband, and took his old one in to get a tune up. I paid 35$ for a deposit and was called and told it wasnt economical to tune it up. When I brought it in it worked fine. Theyve now returned a chainsaw in pieces and said oh well for 35$ we take it apart but we dont put them back together for you. We cant make any money on it. Well youve now lost a customer who has more then proved I am willing to spend money for good service! At the very least you shouldve been willing to put it back together since I brought it in working condition.

Nothing in this world burns me up more then a shady repair shop doing shady work and then not stand by their work. This is my for the most part new saw I purchased it new back in 2013 from land and coats on bonny road well back In December the pull start would not retract so had it to land and coats for a recoil repair and as you can see someone did not put it back together right. Now they will not stand by their work they want more then what a new saw would cost to fix it. Everyone that know me know I can fix anything myself but this was a where i did not have time to fix it. This was the first time this saw had need to have anything fixed on it. So with that’s been said buys beware. This saw need a new coil flywheel and recoil assembly. And yet they want like 500 bucks to fix it with they should be fixing it for free cause they are the one that cause it to start with

Instead of helping to see if we could find what I needed the clerk sat on his fat butt and there was nothing he could do. Really? Wow! I guess customer service is not a requirement to work there. I want to personally thank the employees of L and C. Due to Hurricane Matthew my family was without power for over 48 hours. After some deliberation, I decided it was time to buy a generator for my family while we waited for the city to restore our power. I went to my local Home Depot to buy a generator, after 20 mins of no help, no attention and no personal interaction, I walked into the L/C on Bonney Rd. Instantly a friendly and caring employee greeted me and answered all of my questions/concerns. He explained all of my options and fit me with the best/reliable generator that met my family needs. Now I sit at home watching tv with both of my refrigerators nicely chilling. Buying local, from a company that cares, thats what will make America great!

I took my Stihl chainsaw to the Norfolk L&C, which I purchased and had maintained at L&C , to check on why it was hard to pull start. Instead of calling to explain the problem their technician opted to tear the entire chainsaw down to a box of parts. I went in to check on the saw and looked at the box of parts that used to be my chainsaw. Oddly the carburetor looked perfectly clean with no build up.The store manager was unresponsive and said it would cost another $30 above the $65 I paid to have the saw inspected! In frustration I gave up, took my box of chainsaw parts, left and will never go back. I had purchased and serviced generators to mowers from L&C since 1981. This is a perfectly example how a business can quickly lose a loyal following!

I called the VA Bch store to try and find out about options for service and during the phone call I was disconnected. I tried calling back and the clerk would just hang up on me. When I finally got him to answer and not hang up he told me that he thought i had hung up on him therefore he hung up on me. I was to busy telling off to get his name but the employees are a reflection of the company.If a business will have that kind of idiot handling their customers I can only imagine the service they will provide once I bring them my equipment.I did not even get past the initial phone call. HORRIBLE SERVICES ON THE REPAIR SIDE. I recently went to this loacation with my mom to have her briggs and stratton motor fixed on a cyclone rake ( under warrenty). As soon as we went inside we felt like they did not want to DEAL with us. Aftrer they finally got our info we ask them to give us a call with an update. Well, days went by and they never called. My mother finally called them and they said they had not even looked at it yet. 2 Days later she called back and was told he was too busy with the 3 customers they had in the store and he would call her back. Guess what he didnt call her back. She called again the following day and was told they were too busy to repair the motor and it would be at least 2 weeks before they could get to it. So i called and left 3 messages to find out about the timeline and the issues it had. NOT ONE CALL BACK. My mom finally went up there without me knowing and they were very rude to her she said. She took the motor back ( still broken) and went to another location. She has purchased multiple mowers and zero turns from the cheaspeake store. We will never step foot in the vb location again. This was some of the pourest service we have ever recieved. Dont waste your time here folks. There is plenty of businesses that will aporeiacate your business.

Absolute rip off!!!I went there for a diagnosis, i explained the issue of my trimmer not starting. Then I let ed (service) know i did a complete tune up as well as cleaned the carb and it still faild to start. I paid the 35$(seems fair) fee and left my 2 year old echo trimmer there. Two weeks later they called to tell me it is the ignition coil and they quoted me $180. The price seemed high so I opted to buy and install my own part. When I get to the service department Im expecting my trimmer. Instead they hand me a bag of parts taped to my trimmer. I calmly let them know I was disappointed in the condition I was receiving my trimmer, he said they just how they do it here. I decided to just let it go. I went to the parts department to buy the coil. Well, they wanted 68$ plus 6% to order the part??. Then to top it all off. They were going to charge me OVER $100 to install the coil. They only charge 80$ a hr so how do they justify the estimate they gave me? I paid 50 for the part online amd installed it in just a few minites, had the entire trimmer rebuilt in 15 minutes. They tried to rip me off at every opportunity they had. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

The service here was HORRIBLE. We purchased a lawnmower, trimmer and a blower and the gentleman (IF you can call him that) was EXTREMELY RUDE. Very impatient considering we paid close to $1000 in less than 10 minutes of his time. If my friend were not in such a hurry, we would have gone to another store. I would NOT reccommend this store or this salesman to ANYONE who is seeking to have any kind of customer service or have questions (and we did not have many at all) answered.
