I settled on one scoop of the peanut butter fudge ice cream in the waffle cone after just eaten dinner. I should have gone with the advice of the sign, never settle for one scoop, I was craving more ice cream the whole night after finishing my one scoop cone. I usually forgo a waffle cone and stick to a cup but as I waited in line, they cook the waffle cones right there. The aroma is wonderful and they are on the thin side. I really enjoyed their waffle cone along with the creamy and delicious ice cream. This place is out of the way for me, but well worth the stop.

This has been my go-to when ice cream cravings kick in and it has never let me down! Blue Cow has 12 Classic Flavors that have been available every time Ive gone but an additional 6-8 Featured Flavors that go on rotation throughout the year. So far I have tried their Cake Batter, Oreo, Double-fold Vanilla, Goat Cheese Blueberry Swirl and Chocolate Brownie...Id have them all over and over again - 10/10!This last visit, I tried the Triple Berry Crisp and ohhhhh myyy, it was DELICIOUS!! If only I could convince them to make it a Classic!Also appreciated their on-going efforts at keeping everyone safe in times of the coronavirus! There is a sign outside reminding everyone to don a mask and to enter the store in groups, allowing for only two parties inside at a time. The crew is wearing masks and gloves at all times and changing gloves when ringing you up.I must also extend an additional thank you to the crew that was on this past weekend, the evening of October 3rd. After issues with their credit card system despite trying to run the charge twice and waiting for several minutes, we were offered our ice cream on the house instead of having us wait any longer. Truly appreciated it and made sure to show their tip jar some love!

On a recent vacation to Virginia Beach, my wife and I had dinner at Hot Tuna. We walked around the corner and saw Blue Cow Ice Cream and stopped in for dessert. We decided to try the flight, which is a sampling of several ice creams that they offer. Every flavor we sampled was outstanding!!! It was matched by the excellent service. My wife and I returned a second time before leaving. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Virginia.

My husband and I took our daughter and grand daughter to the Blue Cow tonight. The ice cream was amazing! But, the most amazing thing was something we witnessed while standing in the parking lot talking before we left.A young lady walked out of the store with her waffle cone and all of a sudden the ice cream toppled off the cone and splat...right at her feet. Bless her heart, she was in dismay. My husband and daughter suggested she go back in and explain what happened and she did. Shortly the young lady walked back by with another waffle cone piled high with her favorite sweet. We asked if she had to pay for the new cone and she said no!What an amazing company! Five stars for the actual ice cream and 10 stars for their amazing staff!

I love all their flavors. Unique and delicious gourmet ice cream that is worth the drive. We like getting the flight to share so we can enjoy several flavors. You wont be disappointed.

The ice cream was very good. All three of us enjoy it. We hand vanilla, Oreo and vegan chocolate. If we are in the area again, we will definitely patronize the shop.

Best ice cream in VA Beach!!! We’ve been vacationing here for 5 years and found this place on our last visit. We went 4 consecutive days because it is THAT GOOD! I got different flavors each visit and was always happy with my choice. Amazing service too! All the workers were friendly, helpful, and patience. I told my husband it would be worth the 7 hour drive from PA just for this ice cream! I can’t wait until we can go again!!

This place is AMAZING! If they have the Blueberry Goat Cheese Ice cream when you visit...its a must try. And they have coconut based options, vegan and gluten free options. Something for everyone. All of their flavors are on point, not too sweet, and just the perfect way to elevate a day.

Our favorite ice cream in VA Beach! We love it!! The ice cream is AMAZING and the staff always helpful and efficient. The store is always clean and we appreciate that they also have an online order/pick-up option since they can get quite busy. Birthday Cake is my favorite flavor!!

To be honest...the blue cow in Roanoke is much better. On this particular day the choices here were not that great. Only one flavor that had chocolate in it ...no strawberry, cherry, raspberry flavors , no vanilla, no chocolate chip ..the flavors offered were too gourmet. So I got a scoop of chocolate 🙄

I’ve never tried an ice cream I didn’t love here. However I was disappointed to find that one of the employees working tonight was wearing one of the mesh face masks antimaskers wear to get around mask requirements. Someone who is standing over ice cream for hours at a time should be wearing a proper mask. As a pregnant person being higher risk of a breakthrough case it made me uncomfortable.

Love the flavors and hand-made waffle cones! Unique and nicely and creatively balanced. We have a non-dairy family-member who wishes there were sorbet options (and not just coconut options). There’s often a line but it’s worth the wait.

Great ice cream shop close to First Landing State Park. Went twice Memorial Day weekend 2020 and had a great experience both times. On the first visit, we decided to go in so we could see the flavors and ask a couple of questions. I ended up with a waffle cone of Three Ships Chip (coffee ice cream with mini chocolate chips) and my husband had a waffle cone of Blue Cow Patty (chocolate ice cream with Oreos and Butterfingers). Both flavors were very good. The second visit was a curbside pickup as we ordered a pint of Blue Cow Patty to take back to the campground. Several other flavors peaked my interest (e.g. goat cheese with blueberry) and I will definitely be back to give them a try.

Finest quality ice cream. Absolute small batch ice cream using good milk! Waffle cone (homemade) must try (not ruining taste of ice cream. Usually it does because mostly it is too sweet but not at Blue Cow).

This place is a well known gem in North VBeach. Great ice cream. I would say that pricing is a bit high for the quality of churn and lack of options, but still good overall.

Service was good with a steady flow of people on a Saturday night. Everyone enjoyed their ice cream 🍦. Prices were reasonable and they served ice cream in waffle cones and by the cup.

Delicious! Just go, order your favorites or get something fun, either way you will not be disappointed! I took a picture of two favorites: goat cheese blueberry and sea salt Carmel butter brickle. My daughter also loves the birthday cake and my son (2 years old) just says, “good” over and over when eating the Oreo.

Okay so their ice cream is actually really amazing, which offsets the not-so-great hospitality. I find they move super slowly at getting orders together. Would probably be a better place to grab and go, than trying to order there.

Love the unique flavors they offer here! Had the mint chip, double fold vanilla, and the salted caramel and they were all fantastic. The waffle cones seemed fresh and perfectly prepared. The location is right off of Great Neck and Shore Drive, right behind Hot Tuna. Prices are comparable to other ice cream shops in the area. Also, they adhered to social distancing measures and face covering requirements recommended by the CDC.

Good quality ice cream with enough flavors to provide variety without overwhelming. They were doing a good job keeping guest parties separate and everyone was wearing masks, so theyre making it as safe as possible. Nice people working behind the counter. The process is slower than usual (Im assuming) so its going to take anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes to get in and get your order when theyre busy. Also, they have good looking waffle cones, but I prefer sugar cones, so that wasnt perfect, but we just took ours in cups and that worked out fine.

Let me start this review off with I would have given a 5-star review for every previous visit prior to my visit last night.Upon arriving, there was a line outside which is a great sign because it was cold and people still wanted ice cream. I decided to order on their site for curbside pick-up for myself and the two people with me. I placed our order and the order said it would be ready in one minute (placed at 7:46pm, ready at 7:47pm). I’m not dense so I knew that was more than likely not possible; I am fine waiting for service, food/beverage, etc but being honest is key - their site needs to be adjusted. I pulled into the curbside pick up parking space and we proceeded to wait. There was a group of probably 8 people inside so yes, they were busy for a small ice cream shop. Two other cars pulled up for curbside pick-up. After about 15 minutes of waiting and the large group leaving, I went inside to use the restroom, I was told that I needed to wait outside bc no one than two groups (there were two groups of two) were allowed in at one time. I said ok and went back to my car; I assumed that I was ok going in since there were approximately 8 people in before. We waited an additional 10 minutes, making the wait time 25 minutes total...for ice cream. Once the employee came out with order, she gave the other cars waiting their orders first (they arrived after us) and then gave us the wrong order. The employee realized what she had done, came back out to retrieve it and give it to the correct person (which is an obvious health code violation). She asked what we ordered so she could go back in, now making the wait time even longer. I asked her about coming in to use the restroom and she said “oh yeah, you can do that, I told you to go outside before because I didn’t realize that is what you were coming in for”. We finally got our correct order only to be disappointed with the product. It appeared that we had gotten the remnants of the flavors that we ordered. I understand that someone will get them remnants but with small batch ice cream, there’s ways around it.Needless to say, I am disappointed.

This place!!The B E S T ice cream in town, & the handmade waffle cones are crunchy & tasty; & you can watch them being made.There are amazing flavor combinations like goatcheese & blueberry, vegan chocolate made with coconut milk, Shipps Corner coffee with chocolate chips, & more. They dont use a ton of sugar like their rival in Hilltop.The service always comes with a smile, & the staff is conscientious with cleaning & safety.So glad to have found this gem off of Shore Drive & Greatneck Rd. I think I ordered the peanut butter oreo cookie ice cream, and my life is good. I really enjoyed. My Wife ordered plain old Vanilla, and she was very happy with it. The ice cream tasted fresh, and creamy. I really liked the combo of ice cream, peanut butter flavor, with the chunks of oreo.This place is well worth and its by the Hot Tuna. Get some dinner from them, and come over here for some good Ice Cream.

First time here. Got the snickerdoodle scoop in a cone. Very good flavor. Perfect amount of cinnamon and the ice cream was high quality. Not the kind that melts and drips right away. Definitely going back.

We love this place. I dont even really like Ive cream, but I like this. Fun, sophisticated flavors and they make their own waffle cones. However, they also have gluten free cones and paper cups if you prefer. We drive several miles to get there. Try it!!

My husband and I took our 5 & 7 year old daughters here for free scoops during their grand opening...and we went back again the next night. It’s so good!! Between the four of us, trying different flavors (and tasting each other’s) both times, we have zero complaints. Nothing was lacking, the flavors and texture were on point. I love the vibe in the shop too - it feels super clean and crisp with local art popping off the blue and white color palette. Really excited to have this in VB!!

19 flavors with a lot of variety and the one I got was pretty good (cookie dough). It was pretty crowded but I think thats probably because it opened yesterday, and the line moved fast enough. The pricing was alright, not too expensive or too cheap.
