First time visitors!So we sampled pie day! We bought one slice of each and shared among ourselves. Great taste testing! Each pie was absolutely delicious!We were so impressed with their bakery and after looking over their cases filled with the most fabulous looking items we knew wed visit again.It is now my go to bakery for gifts for family, friends, or neighbors to just say hi or thank you. 🧡

Called yesterday to ask about placing an order. Was told the request was put into the system and someone would call me tomorrow to confirm if they could fulfill my order. 5pm the next day, still hadnt heard back, I decided to call and check in. Woman said there is no record of this and laughed when I explained the order I wanted to place (30 cupcakes).An hour later then owner called me, not to apologize for the miscommunication, but to rudely inform me they arent taking orders at all for the next three weeks, I shouldnt have asked on a day they already had 3 weddings (how should I know that?), and insisted that the only two women who answer the phones were well trained in telling people they could not place a custom order.I am so glad theyre booked because I would not want to do business with such a rude person.

The.Best.Ever. This is not hype. Ordered gluten free cupcakes from here when we were vacationing in Virginia Beach. Ive had amazing GF cupcakes and cakes before, and eaten Georgetown Cupcakes GF and normal options on many occasions. These gluten free cupcakes were better than anything Ive ever had-period. Simply amazing how light the buttercream was, and how light the cake was as well. I dont know how they did it, but it was nothing short of a heavenly experience. Also, kudos to the owner who apparently made a 40 minute plus drive to Sandbridge for us, narrowly avoided a wreck, and was apologetic than 1 or 2 cupcakes werent visually perfect as a result. No apologies needed, but I should have tipped!

I love Flour Child Bakery because they have SO MUCH to satisfy any sweet tooth craving! If were being honest, I am a terrible baker, but I wanted some cute holiday cookies that I could use to take photos of. I stopped in the bakery just to see what they had, and immediately wanted to buy everything! I ended up purchasing gingerbread cookies and peppermint meringue cookies - both were absolutely delicious.They were also advertising for an Apple Bundt Cake soaked in Buttermilk Syrup which sounds positively sinful... thatll have to wait until my next visit!

Recently had a very large order for cake pops and man were they delicious and gone quickly. We ordered the confetti and chocolate and both were amazing. I highly recommend Flour Child Bakery. They will work with you as best they can to make your order the best!

First off let me say, this is not a negative review. Everyones palate is different. I tried individual Coconut Cream Pie and for me there was alot of topping and not enough filling. The Peanut Butter Cookie was oddly sweet for a PB Cookie but the Chocolate chip cookie was good. My favorite item was the Blueberry lemon scone. It was amazing.

Ordered our son’s 1st birthday cake from Flour Child Bakery and it was a big hit. Everyone loved the Disney Cars design and most importantly it was delicious inside and out. They were able to design the cake just like we wanted and it came out great. Highly recommend their bakery for any special event as they will deliver a great product.

Pecan pie bars are amazing, if you love pecan pie you will love these. Not overly sweet but just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. Huge chunks of pecans. The cupcakes were a hit with my kids. Will definitely be going in for my sugar fix from now on.

Full cases with a variety of baked treats for everyone. Her sugar cookies are the best Ive had from a bakery just about anywhere. My family of 8 each got something different and they all enjoyed their preferred treat.

My family has back to back birthdays. We decided cupcakes and a small round cake to share. The cake is amazingly crafted and tasty. The cup cakes are rainbow swirled and sparkly. Usually you can taste the food coloring in colorful cakes, but items we ordered were phenomenal! So tasty! Would recommend this for anyone who wants to add a little something to any occasion. They taste as great as they look!

My husband and I are SO glad that we got our wedding cake from Flour Child Bakery. We did the initial tasting “to-go” style due to the pandemic where we got to pick our cake flavors, fillings, and buttercreams. We decided to go with a lemon cake with cream cheese frosting & lemon curd for one tier; then a chocolate cake with mocha buttercream for the other tier. Our wedding cake was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! On top of that, they decorated so beautifully! Our guests were so excited for our cake and even grabbed seconds. I highly recommend getting your cake at Flour Child Bakery!

Quaint Virginia Beach Bakery has some amazing Chocolate Drizzled Macaroons among other tasty treats! Prior Wedding Wire Winners for their cakes was an interesting fact to find out, and Jenna (I hope I spelled that correctly) was just as sweet as a flower herself. Love the theme, the treats, the story of mother and daughter, great place to add to your shortlist Va!

We made several trips during our week long stay. Everything we had was first rate! My compliments to the baker who makes perfect texture in the cherry and Indiana Sugar cream pies, pumpkin maple scones, and frosted cookies. Convenient curbside pickup and friendly service from Darby made ordering very easy, too. We will definitely plan another trip to the area just to return to Flour Child Bakery!

I went into this friendly, nicely organized, welcoming bakery fairly last minute for my event-it was a Wednesday or Thursday with the event being Saturday. I spoke with the head baker (I did not catch her name) and she was more than willing to help me with our deadline for our sisters Sweet 16 birthday party! We decided on mini gluten free cupcakes. She asked for a picture of the color scheme and not only matched it but the cupcakes were delicious! She also made a large version of the cupcake for the birthday girl. She loved them and they helped make her day so special! Thank you and thank you for being kind! I also picked up gluten free brownies, cake pops and they were delicious also!

Rating based solely on customer service. Cashier seemed distracted initially. She then seemed angered that I misnamed an I item and slammed the cold case door. Hopefully, these lemon bars will be great. I want to try them again but customer service is key. Very disappointed.

Loved my daughters Sesame Street cake for her 2nd birthday. Pies come in several seasonal varieties and the crust is always delicious. Will continue to frequent their shop and look forward to my next dessert.

I was here on 8/7/18, and I wish I had visit here way before I did! Everyone loves a piece of “Good Sweet Eat”! This lil shop is prefect for an afternoon cup of tea and sweet (of ur choice)! I was standing there like Hmmmmmm🧐🤓 decision decision decision......lol it was much goodness so I ending up getting a “ confetti cupcake, almond pound cake and carrot cake (Yes I’m a NY foodie)!!! Tiffany was amazing when I was asking about the carrot cake (yes they DO NOT have raisins in it)!!!! That’s was a super dupper 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽’s up because (anything with cooked raisins remind me of cockroaches) and that was an agreeable conversation began Tiffany and I! However, as I stated I will be back to visit u guys on mi next vacation getaway! #ThankYouTiffany for the card as I will use when I return ❤️❤️

We participated in the pie-a-palooza at the end of April. We ordered 11 slices of pie and are every bit of it. I drove all the way from Hampton because my fat behind will drive for some good food. I hope to be able to stop by again soon for literally anything out of the case. Everything I’ve had from the bakery has been wonderful.

Purchased a beautiful cake from this bakery from word of mouth. However, I was disappointed to say while inside the bakery I noticed four workers, all handling food who were not wearing a mask. Three young ladies in the kitchen and one employee bringing items out in the lobby. The one employee transporting the food to the lobby did return with a mask once she realized there was a customer in the building. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing from here again, I can not take that risk of being exposed to COVID19 even if employees are screened.

It was ok. Wish they had cupcakes in stock to buy or at least more variety of baked goods available. A bit pricey for a basic brownie or cake pop in my opinion.

The wedding cake you made for my small wedding was PERFECT! Exactly what we all wanted in a wedding cake... moist, flavorful, balanced. MMMMMMM!! I was extremely disappointed with my first experience with the bakery. I traveled 45 minutes after watching this page on IG and FB for months. I decided yesterday would be the day. I called ahead of time to make sure that the bakery had the items i wanted to try. I got there and the young lady behind the counter was very pleasant. I purchased 2 cupcakes, cookies, and key lime pie. To say the least the cupcakes were extremely hard in the inside and I had to throw them in the trash. I REALLY had high hopes.

Super duper accommodating! Had to get a last minute cake order in on a Thursday for a party Sunday! They were able to fit me in no problem with an already full bake schedule! Saved the day and my butt! Worked with me on when they processed my payment and everything! The cake was excellent and was big enough to feed and army! Don’t hesitate to head over and check them out. It will be worth it!

I bought a butter yellow cake cupcake with strawberry topping. It was a dry, tasteless cupcake and the icing was worse. I couldnt tell what it was supposed to be. It was pretty, though. Very disappointed.

I happened upon this small bakery by accident visiting another business in the shopping center. Ive bought one the cupcakes (they always have different ones on display) and a little lemon meringue pie for my dad. We really enjoyed both. The next time I took my dad with me a got the carrot cake and a lemon square. They were both so good. My dad was so happy with the lemon square (because it tasted like real lemon with a nice sour), we went back the next day and got two more. They do custom cakes too. Ill definitely be back to try some more soon. :)

I called in the morning to order 2 dozen cookies to be ready in the afternoon. The staff was very friendly and had no problem fulfilling my order (the cookies were baked fresh for me). When I picked up the cookies I also bought a red velvet cupcake for myself. It was delicious! The prices are reasonable for fresh, homemade baked goods. I will definitely be back!

I got a sugar cookie and red velvet cupcake. The icing was really nice but the cookie didnt have much flavor and the cupcake was kind of dry. But overall pretty okay.

The cake was really wonderful. It looked and tasted really lovely. I’m sure their other baked treats are amazing also as I saw many, many people entering the shop when my husband went to pick up my cake. They seemed to be respectful about distances from what I could see from the outside, no large crowds. The only thing that was not Pleasent was once my husband came back he told me the reason it took such a long time to pick up a prepaid cake was because they spelled by name wrong, he asked for it to be corrected, but they spelled it wrong a second time. He said the woman looked irritated with him when he pointed out after the first correction it was still wrong cause she was getting ready to leave for the day. Anyway, I’m really grateful he was persistent in getting it right cause we don’t get to do many celebratory things during a pandemic, it was nice to enjoy a delicious cake with my name correct!

The cake we purchased for my daughters birthday was amazing! She has a tree nut allergy and finding a bakery that will prepare a cake and not have tree but contamination is vital. She said momma this is the best cake ever! I will absolutely use this bakery again.

I love this place and everything about it! I love the fact that this bakery truly makes everything from scratch. They put their heart into every product made. So far nothing has disappointed me and it is worth trying! If no one has visited Flour Child Bakery yet, I truly recommend it!

High prices. Tasty wares, but not worth the high price point IMO. You can buy $100 worth of pastries and cakes and they cram them into the cheapest small box and bag youve ever seen. For the price I should get a presentable box, not a thank you bag!

I popped into this place yesterday before my hair appointment. The service was prompt, polite and friendly. The cake pops were to die for (I tried the almond). Everything in the cases looked amazing! I purchased some pops for my staff as well (red velvet and cherry-chocolate). Their eyes rolling around in their heads and their big smiles said it all. Ill be back for sure!!!! YUM!

I stopped here on Tuesday, Feb. 26th, as I was in this area (it is a distance from my home). I actually felt like I was visiting a friend as I had such a nice time talking with the owner. I have had their fresh apple cake and their chocolate pecan pie in the past and have thought about both items since then many times. They are both excellent and it is obvious they are made from fresh ingredients. While they didnt have the chocolate pecan pie available this particular day, I decided to pick up a couple of their scones. A friend of mines boyfriend is visiting her from England so I took them to the two of them. He said they were very good - possibly the best taster for a review ;o)I would drive here to get either one of their two items mentioned above as they are excellent. Or maybe Id drive here to feel so welcomed!

This place is great! Always friendly, yummy.. its just awesome. They have Pepsi max and coke zero sugar cold in bottles! I try to stop in for their buttercream cookies once a week. Their brownies are scrumptious.

Stopped in today and had the best scone of my life -- lemon blueberry -- ridiculously good. Cant wait to come back and try everything else!!!

But wait, I just walked past the sign...I stated that I simply wanted to order a birthday cake for Thursday, to which I was told you were booked for the entire week and couldnt take any orders... with an extremely condescending attitude. The girl then proceeded to make a show out of turning off the sign and locking the door behind me as I left.Congratulations to the employee at the counter (I hope you were not the owner)... you lost a sale and regular customer today.

Ordered this beautiful and delicious cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. She has an allergy to tree nuts so we were slightly apprehensive about purchasing a cake but she had no reactions at all and the cake was delicious. For the amount of cake we received and the custom decorations I think the price is 100% fair.

A little hard to find but a great place. I went there on Valentines Day and they had a wonderful selection of cake pops and homemade cookies (pecan cresents). They were great! The display of cakes is wonderful in the store! I recommend trying this little find!

Love the food overall, everything is moist and delicious! Somewhat pricey for the quality though-in some of the cookies I can taste the actual ingredients...like the butter or flour. Besides that, very good!

The Flower child bakery has the best gluten free cake pops! The only thing I wish that the bakery would do was to make French macaroons, or make them when people call in and ask for some(: I belive this bakery could make wonderful ones if they did. I cannot find a good place that can make decent macaroons, but Im definitely going to come back and purchase more goods!

Ive gone in twice in a row just for their fantastic key lime pies, cake pops, cupcakes, and banana pudding. The service is always fantastic, and their goods are incredibly tasteful, classy, and most of all drop dead delicious. Maybe ill turn this into a daily visit, thanks for everything, ladies!
