Mike was very professional and very knowledgeable about transmissions. He told me it will done in a week and was done in 4 days. I will bring my car back again because Mike and the guys know what they are doing and will not put you thru the ringer.

Took my car in for AC repair based on the reviews. They charged me $1100+ to replace and condenser and two lines. A week later I had no AC again. I took it back to them and they said I need a new compressor and they could do it for $800+!! This seems to be a planned robbery. I asked why they didnt tell me that in the beginning? Did they miss it? They said no. So if you didnt miss it then why not tell me? Have a lawyer prepared whenever you deal with them.

Theyve done a great job with my jeep. Previous ownership did some work. Paul, being a good businessman, took over warranty work done prior. No problems with doing the job. Lee is a man I can do work with. Between him and Paul, they can keep that place going. Lee being a very detailed kind of guy, and Paul being generous enough to use good sense and savvy they helped me numerous times and didnt do what they couldve done and charged ridiculous for these things. Especially because Im about a 20 minute walk, its convenient to be able to have a shop that knows the vehicle and can take the time on it as if it were his own. Thanks for all the help fellows.

This was by far the best experience I have ever had at an auto repair shop! Lee made sure my experience was fast, accurate, and enjoyable! They fixed my car in no time! I had them remove and replace my camshaft seal and when they put on the timing cover, new belts and old pulleys back on they broke my timing cover, and put a broke tensioner back in the car and never called me about it. Don’t come here if you value your vehicle

Both me and my roommate have been going to these guys for over a year now. I recently had a timing belt and head gasket repairs done on my Jeep and the time it took was less than what they quoted me at, and service was awesome. They also had my roommates Jeep for an engine code and did a full diagnostic before finding out the problem was a super expensive fix and they were not even mad when we decided to take it to the dealership for warranty repair instead of using them. Paul the owner is a super personable guy and if you ask for explanations he will break everything down in a super simple way that anyone can understand. I very much doubt I will be going anywhere else for any repairs in the future.

*Edit: When I took my car to them I was having problems with it starting up after fueling. They found the timing to be the problem, as well as the catalytic converters and the purge valve. I paid over $1,700 to get a timing belt comp kit, catalytic converters, purge valve, fuel system cleaning, and some routine fluid maintenance. Less than a month later my car broke down about an hour and a half away and they left me stranded. My timing belt that they were supposed to have just changed snapped and bent some pins in my motor. I called them multiple times immediately and was told that they would contact me back. They never contacted me until I went up there in person days later (since I didn’t have my car it was difficult for me to find a way there). Only when I went in there in person and threatened with a lawyer did they even attempt to try to help me resolve my issues 4 days after my car initially broke down The timing belt was never actually changed by them (there were no numbers or even traces of numbers on the belt), and their neglect cost me my entire vehicle.The atmosphere is nice, the employees are fun yet down to business when necessary. I came in with a car problem, it took a few days for them to go over everything (it had been a couple years since I’d even had a tune up). They completed several things, and my car does idle and run a bit smoother. The main issue that I originally had is still unresolved, however they’re taking it back in and retesting everything to try to repair what is not working correctly. Overall I would absolutely recommend them.

Called and spoke to a gentlemen about taking out a bleeder valve that just needed some extra help. He then told me to come by and he would take a look really quick being it was just so simple. I came in no one even knew what was going on saying someone was taking calls telling people to just come in. I expressed to him I had my family because we were heading out of town. We sat in the parking lot for about 30 minutes with our newborns in the car at 93° and no one even looked at it. After driving out of our way because a friend of mine who runs a very big shop in the area recommend these guys because he was sick. I will definitely tell him to never send his over flow business here again. Very unprofessional business. You guys just lost lots of money. Shouldnt treat customers that way sometimes you never know who they turn out to be.

Called about a transmission job. All they mentioned after hearing about my vehicle was a RDI fee. Person on the phone said just come pick it up. Very Rude and aggressive, not very customer friendly.

I came here initially in January for a transmission flush and Lee and Mike were professional and got the job done that same day. I was shocked with how upfront everyone was and it was a breath of fresh air compared to other shops I’ve dealt with.I decided to come back again for issues with my break pads and rotors. Lee and Mike again were awesome at getting me a diagnosis and a reasonable quote for the repairs.I’ll definitely be bringing my car here from now on for any issues I’m having.

This place is awesome! Saved me tons of money. My daughter is purchasing a used vehicle and every time we have taken it here to be checked out. They conducted a thorough inspection not only saving us the headache of buying a bad car with hugh mechanical issues, they saved us money for doing it for free!. She didnt have much money to spend on a vehicle so purchasing one with big problems would have been a nightmare. They all have excellent customer service and so very helpful in looking out for your best interests. Mike especially is the best, honest and straight forward with a great since of humor. They have gained my future business knowing they are absolutely trustworthy as mechanics!

We pulled into town for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary on a Thursday night. The van was running hot and had developed a coolant leak. I called up Mike on Friday morning and he told me he could get it looked at in the next couple hours and get it fixed.The repair was actually finished on Saturday, but we left on Monday and got home without incident. Mike also gave us a tremendous veteran discount and a free oil change to boot! He also gave my father-in-law a free oil change for his anniversary!I have one piece of constructive feedback though. Mike is a great guy, but I was very concerned my van wouldnt get fixed until we picked it up on Saturday. Mike is so nice to people that I think he gets involved in personal conversations at the expense of timely and accurate communications.Given that the repair was made correctly, the repair was completed within our minimally acceptable timeline, we got home without incident, and the fact that Mike gave us such a good deal - you can file my constructive feedback in the would have been nice to have category.Overall, this was a solid A experience and would highly recommend.

If I could not leave any star I would. Do not use these people for you car repair they kept my car for weeks and did not do the work. I went in for a simple clutch and came out with more problems then need to be. They keep the car for two weeks due to people calling out and not coming to work they never once called me. On day ten I went up to the shop to see what was going on. They still did not have my car ready I waiting there for a couple of more hrs. Seem to me they did a rush job to get me out of there. Then when they finally said it was ready after siting there for hrs. They took car out of the bay. Then when I pulled of down the street didnt even get to light there was stuff leaking all over the place. They didnt put a part on right then headed back to shop right away. then when they were finally were finished. Took the car home and still was not right took the car back up they have broken a lot of stuff on the car. They seem to not care about there work. I payed over a thousand dollars for them to damaged my car. Then when I ask to talk to owner they give me the run around on who is the owner. Way to go to take people money and not to fix there car. I pay for a new clutch and I was very upset with the service they did. I had bring my car up there 5 times and for them to keep it longer. The work was still not done now my car is at another place for them to fix all the stuff that they have done wrong called again and ask for the owner or the manager info so that I could tell them what they have done to my car. Still got a run around on the info some women got on the phone said she was the owner she wanted me to bring the car back up there for her look at I said for what for you to keep it longer each time and to damage it more then what You guys already have Told her that I have taken the car up there 5 times already . Then ask again what is the owner info so that I can tell him or she how my experience was she said again that she was the owner. If she was the owner she was very unprofessional disrespectful I was trying to tell her the full story so that no one else would have to go through what I had to go though with this business guess this business is to take your money and to broke your car and not to do the job I paid for . I just wanted to let other people know not to take your car here. Take it somewhere else wish i would have read the reviews before taking it here

Hey guys, if youre looking for a good shop whos honest and affordable, then these are the guys. Im a pretty savy shopper and they beat out everyone else. I have multiple vehicles and I do most of my own work, but if there is something I cant figure out, Ill take to them and theyll let me know exactly what the problem is and if I can fix it I will, but if I cant I will always let them repair the issue. Like I said, Ive shopped around and found them with the best prices in town plus they offer a military discount which applies to labor only. If you have your own parts, they will use them for you but they can not offer a warranty on your parts. Anyway id give them 10 stars if that were available. Give them a call if you have car issues.

This place has good reviews but theyll try to rip you off. I think its the kind of place that sees women as easy marks, too.My car had started making an odd noise so I took it here. They quoted me $3K at least to get my transmission replaced and the guy at the counter kept telling me that he replaces so many transmissions on all kinds of cars. I bet he does if he lies about it to everyone!I left for a second opinion and took it to Hall Dealership. Turns out all I needed was the transmission fluids replaced and the noise has stopped! It only cost a few hundred, too. Dont go here unless you want to spend 10x as much for no reason.

Mike and his staff were so helpful and knowledgeable! I will definitely come back here in the future for any services my car may need. I went to auto zone to get a specific product for my car and was told it was the best but as soon as I showed it to Mike,he let me know the dangers of using that specific product in my car and educated me on why I shouldn’t!

The heat in my car hasnt worked for a few weeks now. I took it to a shop a few weeks ago who told me I needed a heater core because it was all clogged up for the tune of $2000!!! I decided to just deal with the cold till i saved up for the repair. I overheard a lady in walmart talking about her recent repair here and figured it wouldnt hurt to get a second opinion, and I didnt have to pay for a diagnostic. They were busy when I walked in but got my car looked at in a reasonable time frame. The owner Paul loved at my car himself. He agreed that the heater core was clogged but offered to try to flush it out before saying it needed to be replaced. 45 minutes later, I was driving down the road in a toasty car and only spent $100. I am so grateful for Paul and the guys at Indian River. I was in the right place at the right time! You have earned a customer for life!!!

I initially took my older Jeep to them knowing that it had several problems. They replaced my transmission, fixed rusted brake lines, and stuck break calipers among other minor things. They did all repairs in a timely manner and kept me updated on what was going on. Then, after having it back and driving it around for a week or 2 I noticed it was leaking transmission fluid so I returned it to the shop and they said they would look at it.Thats were things changed. They kept my car for nearly a month and I called them 5 different times, talking to Mike each time, asking what was going on and kept getting told that they would call me back until finally he said it was a leaking transfer case seal and the amount he quoted me was more than I could afford after all of the other repairs, which I told him. He said he was going to see if he could work something out for a discount and would get back to me. He never did. After week four of them keeping my Jeep I showed up unannounced and Mike looked surprised to see me and when I asked why they couldnt call me back he told me that he thought I had already picked it up but the look on his face said otherwise.I ended up taking it to another shop to have repaired and was told that it was something that should have been looked at/replaced when the transmission was replaced. The other shop made the repair and I had my car back in 3 days. Fast forward a month or two, I called Indian River auto to try to get clarification on why they did find that the first time and the call was answered by the owner Paul. He was very apologetic and told me that had I talked to him that I wouldve never had those issues and that Mike, that I had dealt with, had since been let go of because of these types of issues/lack of communication with customers. Paul told me to bring in the invoice from the other shop and he would reimburse me as well as extend the warranty on the transmission.The owner did everything he could to make amends and has gained my respect as a business owner. I think that the issue I had was solely due to the fact that I was dealing with a manager that couldnt handle everything on his plate and it gave me a negative view of the business which has since been changed. I would recommend this shop to other now that Paul is running the counter himself.

This was my second time visiting Indian rivers auto and transmission. They were very kind and helpful. They will explain the causes of the problem and give tips on how to avoid them in the near future. They really value their customers to keep them coming back, for any future problems.

I was given a fairly good quote for a c230 transmission rebuild. Upon arrival the owner actually took another $1000 off of the price... I swear I almost cried tears of joy.... Very prompt service and hospitality out of this world... I would recommend to all my family and friends ....

I took my Jeep in to have the transmission looked at because the vehicle was kicking. The mechanic did an excellent job at checking the transmission and informed me that the issue was in fact my motor mount. I then asked them to fix some seals that were leaking oil along with fixing the motor mount. The job was done in a couple days. While doing the job, they noticed some vacuum lines that went bad and took care of them for me, going above and beyond like that makes a big difference. The Jeep is now running a lot better now. These guys have been excellent to deal with through the entire process. I highly recommend them, they will take good care of you and your vehicle. They also gave me a free oil change for when I’m due for another one.

Might be worth going there now that Mike is running the place, as Im told it changed management recently. Was super shady before. They still need to hit their stride though, hard to tell how they will do right now. I had a couple issues with the work they did, but they did fix it eventually for free. Huge step in the right direction for the garage, I wish them all the best as they move forward.

Brought in my 2011 Camaro for some much needed TLC. Mike informed me via call and text (something a lot of shops don’t do) whenever something came up and needed approval on versus just do it and charging me or not doing it all and not informing me of any issues that were notice. Paul has a great group of guys and gal working with him and I’ll surely be referring others to him anytime!!!!

My Jeep is currently being fixed by Indian River Auto. So far the customer service has been excellent! It is taking longer than anticipated due to having to wait on parts to ship in but so far they seem honest, knowledgeable and friendly. Ill post an update after its all said and done

Horrible service it took them 2weeks to change my transmission not to mention once I got back to Ga the transmission they supposedly had changed slipped 2 weeks later if u ask me I don’t think they ever changed my transmission I man very disappointed I thank God for Mr Transmission in Tucker Ga Mr Transmission was prompt and efficient and courteous

I would stay far away from this repair shop. The only thing worse than their repair skills are their customer service skills. We had been told by a Midas Muffler shop that the lower intake manifold on our 1999 Buick Century (54,000 original miles) was leaking, and when the leak got a little worse, my son and his fiancé took the car in to the Indian River shop for repair. They replaced the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets and also replaced the water pump which they said was also leaking (we had no evidence of this). When we got the car back, it was still leaking antifreeze. We took the car back in to the Indian River shop, and they said the heater core was leaking, so they replaced it. When we picked up the car this time, the car was leaking antifreeze much faster, and the overflow was empty by the next day. We took it back in to them, and they said the head gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced. At this point, we had lost confidence in the shop and took the car to a different repair shop. That shop looked at it and said that the only leak they saw was a big leak in the lower intake manifold gasket. They replaced the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, noting that the recently replaced gasket had a large crack in it. This repair stopped the intake manifold gasket leak. We will not be going back to Indian River for any repairs on our cars in the future.

Got both cars taken care of and w impeccable timing but even moreso was the experience. To have someone that actually cares and deals w you as a person and not just a customer is great. We took my daughter’s wounded car to Indian River Auto and Transmission in April 2019 to determine whether the engine could be repaired. Mike spoke with us at the time and promised a careful examination. It turned out that the engine was ruined but Mike could install a used or a new engine for a substantial but not outrageous sum. We decided against putting any more money into the car due to its age, so I can’t speak to the work the shop actually does. But throughout our several interactions, and in speaking with my daughter since, Mike was friendly, outgoing, upbeat and very willing to discuss options. He even refused payment for examining the car. He treated my daughter seriously and with respect, unlike some of her experiences in other situations, even gave her a card for a free oil change in the future despite not getting our business. Mike’s customer service attitude alone deserves this rating.

I stumbled across this place at first because it was one of the only shops open on Labor Day and my car was making a weird noise. Man Im glad I did! I was greeted by Paul and we discussed my issue and he had it up to be checked within the hour. I definitely appreciate the fact that he called me to let me know what was going on with updates, gave me a quote for the work (very reasonable), and offered to explain everything I had questions about. To find a shop that takes the time to actually help their customers, explain things, and not try and upsell you is awesome. It ended up being a backwards carrier bearing (installed somewhere else) but their mechanic noticed it right away. I dont really write reviews but I was so pleased I felt this shop deserved it. If you need anything from an oil change to a full on transmission rebuild, check these guys out. Plus they look out for the military so I really appreciate that.

Every aspect of my visit was not only top quality, it was along the lines of spending time with friends and family. Even though this was my first visit, the level of attention the shop gave my car, all the while listening to my concerns, made me feel like I have been part of the Indian River Auto & Transmission family for a long time.

I have used these amazing people several times over the last few years. They have always hustled to get repairs done in a timely manner, they are extremely knowledgeable, and have consistently provided above-average performance. I cant say enough good things about Paul and his team! Just picked up my truck today and shes running like new, and AHEAD of schedule.

Paul and Mike, took care of my F 250 7.3 which needed a new starter. While we had some scheduling snafus they took care of me and also fixed the issue I caused on my girlfriends car for free after I replaced struts. No more needs to be said on that. Definitely recommend these guys!

Lee is very hospitable and hardworking, along with the rest of the staff. My friends and were treated nicely during the whole service process.

My first time using Indian River Auto. Reviews on Google seemed great and they were super nice in person. I have been experiencing issues with my cars jumping between gears occasionally and I spent 6 hours in theshop today while they worked on it. In the end they assured me that the initial issues I came in with had been fixed but they told me that they couldn’t get one of the lights to reset so they asked me to come back on Monday to have another mechanic take a look at it. Since I was assured everything was working ‘normally’ I agreed to return on Monday for a second look as to why the light wouldn’t go off. Final bill...$881.57! When I drove home everything seemed fine but when I took it out again 20 minutes after I got home EVERY issue I took it in for was still happening. NOTHING THEY DID FIXED ANYTHING!!!! Rest assured that I will be addressing this with them again on Monday when I take the car back to them. If they are able to fix the issues then this rating may change but for now paying almost $900 for literally nothing is some straight up BS!!!

I believe they are scamming people! I took my car in because my AC was working only intermittently. My husband had already checked and it was not low on gas. They looked at it and told me it had been leaking and both the compressor and evaporator were shot and needed replaced at a tune of over $2,000. Something did not pass the smell test with me and I took my car elsewhere only to learn that everything was fine, no leaks, it just needed a temperature sensor replaced. I’m convinced that Indian River Auto & Transmission tried to scam me big time and I would never recommend them!

So Nancy and I have been coming here for several years and the service has always been awesome. Recently I had a leak on my GMC Yukon which was kicking my butt so I called and talked to Mike and he got me in the next day, troubleshot my problem and got me back on the road that day. Very reasonable and very professional. Ever hear when it rains it pours, well, the next day I have a rattling noise coming from my engine so I stopped in on my way home “ convenient for me “ and Mike comes out, listens and tells me I have a bad bearing in my tension arm pulley. He has a new one delivered and swapped out in less than 15 minutes and charges me nothing. Tells me to have a great day. Beat that for service. Give them a chance next time you need some automotive service of any kind cause they do it all. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks to the whole team, you guys rock.Robert and Nancy.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brought my car in for a airbag light in May of 2020 until July of 2020. They dont communicate you have to call them to get the status of your car. They destroy my inside of the car. Broke my glove box ,oil on the floor ,grease everywhere. My car had leaves all over it just a mess. An they still didnt fix the car. I have pictures of the damage. Going to make the report to the BBB about it and going to small claims .

Indian River Auto is an awesome. I am new to the area. I didnt know anyone. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I truly recommend.

Fantastic work on my Dodge dart! They fixed my A/C compressor quickly and for a great price. The people working there were also super helpful, honest, and knowledgable! I will definitely be visiting them next time I need anything done on my car.

I went to this shop concerned about my transmission fluid level. Travis diagnosed my care at NO CHARGE! WHO DOES THAT IN 2019? He did not try to sell me a service I did not need. Back on the road to Richmond with peace of mind. THANK YOU TRAVIS!

I dont write bad reviews but do not ever take your car here. I even know these people personally plus I own and operate a 5 star business in the 757 and they tried to extort me for a 1000 dollar c converter job when I took it to three places afterwards and it was only a 90 fix coming from three separate places. DO NOT GO HERE. The company has had a lot of bad luck and its because of this. From and owner operator point of view. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE. They do not fix the problem and offer a free diagnostic with no paper because they lie to get over on you and you will be stuck paying them and your car still broke down.

Awesome people, repair got delayed by a couple of days but it was great that we were able to finance and fees were waived to keep total in our financed amount to be something we could accomodate.

Best experience I’ve had at a auto shop ever since I got my car this is the only place I come to great staff speedy work with reasonable prices this is a great place of business highly recommended

My Acura TL 2004 is my baby.She was losing power and I did not know why.I took my car to Indian River Transmission and explained my problem.Melissa listened to me and explained what the problem could be.Melissa is extremely knowledgeable about cars.She answered my Wifes and my questions and explained everything in detail.We felt very comfortable because most transmission places have the attitude you need us we dont need you.The mechanic Mark,bar none is a first rate mechanic.I was extremely satisfied with the work done on my vehicle.I would highly recommend Indian River Transmission to anyone.You have a customer for life.Thank you.Also,Melissa and Mark both need a raise.Good people who genuinely care.
