Frank and Orrin are great guys! I was traveling through VA on the way the Chicago when the coil pack on my car failed. Without an appointment, they helped me diagnose the problem late on a Saturday afternoon and helped me find the part as well.

Frank is a great guy and SUPER knowledgeable.I highly recommend him!!!My 91 Vanagon struggled with cooling issues for years. I went to several mechanics and spend lots of $$$ and none got it right. Frank in minutes showed me how to fix the cooling problem. Hes taught a ton about my Van and has been a great resource for parts. So refreshing to meet a mechanic who cares, knows their stuff and trustworthy.

Unfortunately had a horrible long expensive experience here at bug house. Traveling the country in our bus and not only does the clerk show up 15 minutes late to open to the store he knocks driving the bus around. Then says the mechanic will arrive an hour after the time the business opens. The mechanic was also 20 minutes late. Not only did they not have an oil filter for our bus at VW Shop we wait nearly three hours to get the oil filter delivered. When we asked if they could check the transmission fluid it seemed to be a huge inconvenience for them. All we did was just ask to check it. All we wanted was an oil change. Got there at 10:55 am they said they would be open at 11. Helped at 11:15 my husband even helped move cars out of the garage for them. The mechanic showed up at 12:30 then we didnt leave until 1:45 on top of that we were charged 90 dollars for an oil change...dont waist your time and money here. Im sure sorry we did

Great place for vintage VW repairs and parts. Very knowledgeable. They are very helpful providing tips about your VW since most older cars are in different stages of wear and tear. Dont try to overcharge or recommend unnecessary repairs ... Mindset of if it aint broke, dont try to fix it!

We just needed some info for selling our VW Bug. The owner was very helpful and spent a lot of time with us even though we were not buying anything from him. Much appreciated.

Layed back bug service. I enjoyed talking with Frank. He wouldnt have been around this long if he had a bad reputation. I like these guys. Fair and honest. They know vintage VWs. The hours are not typical and that works to your favor. Ibwiyod say Ill be back, but hopefully not, but I gotta bug so Im sure I will. And when Im back I know they will take care of me and my 1970 convertible.

Absolutely loved going here and dealing with Frank. I live in NYC and found a seller in Norfolk selling a Bay Window Bus, we arranged to meet at the Bughouse to have it looked over when I went down there. Frank was completely accommodating and he really knows his stuff. The storefront is stocked with tons of cool parts and accessories for aircooled VDubs, he was able to sell me a whole bunch of OE maintenance items on the spot rather than me ordering them online. Frank even helped us load the bus onto the trailer and get it all strapped down, really the nicest guy. Absolutely would recommend anyone in the area go to Frank, Ill most definitely be back whenever Im down in the area!

I have dealt with Frank on a few occasions with my Westy. Hes always been fair and straight up with me. He can be a bit forward and may need a teensy bit of work on customer service, but he is VERY knowledgeable on VWs despite what other have said. I have always had great service with him and will continue to go back.

I have been very pleased with my service at the bug house. I have a 2004 Jetta that I keep in immaculate running condition (thanks to the bug house). Over the years they have done oil changes, fixed a fuel leak, changed a timing belt, replaced seat belts that my dog chewed, and other jobs related to deciphering what the check engine light is trying to tell me. They always tell me exactly what the problem is, and always normally gives me two options on how to deal with it. They even show me on/in the car what the problem might be. He really knows his stuff about Volkswagens. If you want to keep your car in pristine shape, get the most miles out of it, and not get robbed by a mechanic just trying to make a buck, I highly recommend the bughouse.
