I was able to get help finding the items I needed to start my garden off right. The workers here are very helpful and will answer any questions you might have. Definitely my go to place!!

Silly little girl at the counter trying to enforce a mask mandate that doesn’t exist. Clueless manager standing next to her. I’ve been here 100 times. There is no mask mandate in effect. I am vaxxed. Do not patronize businesses like these. I always went here to support small business even though their prices are much much higher. Never again. Hope it was worth it.

Always helpful and selection is pretty good.

The store is typical but some of the employees are not that great. I would call them a word that is not allowed on here but if you have to go here just bite your tongue or they will be extra annoying at checkout. Much better service at the one in Elmhurst at York and Butterfield.

Today is the last time Im going to that store of yours Lou manfredini. The prices have gone up way too much, the knowledgeability of the staff has gone way too low compared to the previous staff, youre understaffed and today when I tried to return an Ace hardware supply line from a different Ace, I was informed that you dont carry it in stock and therefore I cant return it at your location. 👎

New owners have updated the store and kept good help.Bob & Sue are great 👍

Not friendly or helpful at this location. Cashier was extremely rude and ignorant. Dont waste time or money here. Lens ace in addison is much more helpful and has better stock.

They carry 3 in 1 Beyond Paint. One of very few carriers.

I stop here periodically to purchase materials for my service shop. I just left this store and the girl at the counter (Olivia) was not very nice. Felt like she was bothered to have to take care of a client. She was not nice to the client before me as well. This girl was really grumpy.

Glad these guys have weathered the attack of the big-box stores.

Usually helpful and friendly staff, not always but everyone has bad days. However, if your signs say you’re open to a certain time, you should be open until that time. I’d you want to close 5 minutes before that, then change your posted closing time. So frustrating!

This is a fairly small neighborhood hardware store but they have everything. The employees are always very helpful. Its nice to be able to run in get, what you need, without getting lost in a big store, and leave

I’ve never posted a review.This ace is not helpful. In fact, it’s just the opposite. The staff is unfriendly. Every time I go in there I’m being watched by one or more employees. I’m a construction business owner, married and a father to two kids. I don’t steal nor do I look like the stealing type. If you spend more than one minute looking at copper fittings or drywall knives the staff becomes suspicious. It’s weird. It’s not good when your customer feels unwelcome. More, my last few trips yielded dried out wood filler, faulty brass fitting and a hard tube of liquid nails. The folks that work and run this store are rude and unfriendly. I don’t dare try and return these items. Not worth the time and effort.To do for Villa Park ace at villa and st. Charles- don’t make the customers uncomfortable.- don’t make them feel like thieves.- stock inventory that works- the older lady at the register needs to go, so rude.- the store manager needs to read a book on smiling and being nice.Ace is a indeed a helpful place with the expecting of this ace. Go to Len’s, go to Schroeders. Don’t go to this one.Sincerelyconstruction professional and daily consumer.

Good no complaints. Usually have what I need and I end up coming here when my local ace doesnt have product in stock. Clean and good lay out in store and staff is always helpful.

I called Ace in Villa Park on St Charles and Villa and asked if they warranty Craftsman yools, I was told yes which makes sense when the tools have a lifetime guarantee. I drove there with my broken ratchet and even had a younger gentleman associate grab it for me. I went to counter after being told it would be waiting at counter. The sweet lady at counter called an overweight manager who needs to relearn customer service. This individual called another manager because despite the fact the ratchets were identical their stock number was different so they would not warranty item.I cannot believe I made mistake of coming to this tiny mom and pop place hoping I would get the customer service you dont always get from the big chains, like Home depot or Loews. I was VERY wrong, the goofball handing me back my ratchet and said the other manager says we cant do it because stock numbers dont match, I asked him if he was serious? He said I dont make the rules. No question why everyone goes to Home Depot, this is a very poor way to take care of a customer. I am a Diesel technician who buys a lot of tools, looks like Ill be buying them from the bigger stores that will step up to help the customer, you know the people that pay your bills by spending money.Nice going, customer is reason youre there, this is one customer who wont be returning.

I love local businesses and the Villa Park Hardware store is no exception. Since they stopped being Ace Hardware about a year ago, they have maintained their staffing levels with knowledgeable employees, while trying to decrease prices. If they did more advertising they would be packed with customers.

Night before Thanksgiving doing some holiday shopping, and Christina was not very friendly at the check-out counter. She seemed prejudice. Maybe because it’s a predominately white neighborhood, they are not used to seeing many Hispanics shoppers or seem to think we’re all crooks.I was trying to show her something on a tool set I purchased by pointing at it and she rudely pushed my hand out of the way, not necessary and uncalled for.When I called to speak to the manager in charge (Mike) he was also rude and condescending. Very poor customer service. I will call the owners and see if he/she think it’s okay to treat their customer’s this way, but if not, then I guess I will not be spending any more of my hard earned money there.If you’re not white, try a different store. The one in Addison seems to be a lot bigger and their staff is friendly and helpful no matter what race or ethnicity you are.Happy Holidays!

I spoke with one of the managers at VIlla Park Ace a little while ago. I was calling to let him know about an incident that occurred on Sunday. I walked up to the store to have a key made. As I walked by some equipment on the sidewalk I misjudged where the 2nd machine was sitting. I caught my foot on it, another customer, someone I am familiar with) asked if I was OK. I responded that it got me. I realized later that I may have actually broken my toe. I stopped into the store yesterday to pick something up and mentioned to the gentleman who helped me what had happened. His response was, that equipment is usually pushed back against the building not Im sorry that happened or any other show of concern. I actually put back the item I was going to purchase because I was angry about the lack of concern.I called this morning to talk to a manager about the lack of concern that a customer had been injured. The reaction of the manager was no different! When I relayed what had happened there was dead silence on the other end of the phone. When I called him out on the lack of concern he told me he was having an issue with tinnitus in his ear and was having trouble hearing me. THEN SWITCH THE PHONE TO THE OTHER EAR! (This was that same manager I spoke with about a rude employee. His excuse for the silence on the other end of the phone was the employee is standing next to me. Put the call on hold and go to the office to continue the call!!) At that point I was so frustrated I didnt pursue it further with him and told him Id write a review letting others know there seems to be a lack of concern by the employees and management for the safety of their customers.I just wanted to let management know so they could talk with the employees about how to handle things when a customer is injured at the store. Instead I will not shop at Villa Park Ace again!

Had what I needed but couldnt use my chip card there! Card reader wouldnt read chip they couldnt/wouldnt punch in number or swipe there card, went to Schroeders ace hardware in lombard instead, much better ace then villa park!!!
