First time going to a guitar shop and it was very cool. A guy name Kyle made it clear that I could look around and to feel comfortable to pick up a guitar and to play it. Kyle help me pick a guitar that will be better for my current budget and made it clear it was his personal opinion. I took his advice and dont regret it. The guitar came with a hard cover case and it cost me nothing, I just wish I had more money to buy a amp to go with it. I recommend you to check it out, and if you do go ask for Kyle very chill dude and for the short time I was their he speaks his mind and gives a honest opinion about your thought. Hard to find friends that tell you the truth let alone a worker. Keep up the hard work Kyle!!!

I picked up a few items I really needed, and had excellent experience purchasing a much need snare stand and chime attachment. I ended up spending 45 mins in the store and loved every moment of it in the drum section.

A young man helped me get a greater understanding and appreciation for what I need to really enjoy a complete home audio system. He should have had a tip jar and I would have tipped he good for his time and sound advice he gave me yesterday.

Really nice guitar center, floorplan is laid out pretty well. They have a good variety of instruments, though the acoustics didn’t have any 12 strings, Friday has gone down a little bit and all the really expensive guitars are locked, obviously. They have a decent amount of guitars, drum kids, drums as well, will probably impresses me the most is that they have a decent section for production. In a pinch you could probably go there and grab some stuff, return it afterwards. But they have a good variety of what people need or can order it if need be

Ordered vintage Gibson online. It was mentioned in the listing some selector switch wasnt working. and was surprised to receive her FULLy WORKING, quick, properly packed with no damage and condition better then described. Very much appreciated.

Definitely going down hill. Not much in the way of used gear or nicer stuff and anything over $1k is locked up now (although there is valid reason for that). I guess it shouldnt be surprising that most premium gear purchases should be online now.

Great service in the past but seems to be sliding down hill. Not a lot of stock and sometimes you can get the guy with a attitude. For the most part my past experience was better.

I brought my two guitars in for general service.example: 1set of strings cleaning ,polishing, some neck adjusting I guest.the cost was about $200 dollars, that was way to much money,but I needed the work done.I wish it were a little more cheaper. I have yet to go and pick up my guitars.I hope Ill be happy. However other services are good.

You can try out guitars, basses, amps and pedals in a private booth and not listen to an endless chorus of Sweet Child of Mine or Stairway to Heaven practice sessions. You can also play those songs in a private booth as long as your heart desires.

Got talked into ordering gear by a GC employee , payed for it at the counter.Over a week later I get a cancellation of order, and one more week Ill get a refund!!!They just barowed my money , I got nothing,, so I still have to order from somewhere else. Waste of time!!

I specially came to the store to order a new subwoofer. I wanted to use it at a future party. When I went to pick up my order, I opened the box and saw a used subwoofer, with a lot of scratches and dents. Store employees refused to make a discount on the used subwoofer. I paid for a new product but received a used one. I returned the subwoofer back to the store. I spent a lot of my time ordering this sub and waiting for delivery. My future party has been canceled. I didnt make money. The store employees are obliged to warn me and other customers of the store that the goods ordered are not new and with defects. I am not happy with the work of the store.

Sold me a used guitar over the Internet with fret damage that was not disclosed in the item description. What time discovered the front damage and contacted my sales rep, Ben Bollero, I was informed that because I did not purchase some sort of extra repair agreement warranty that there was nothing that they could do. This feels extremely underhanded. I will not be doing business here again, nor do I recommend anyone else do so.

Amazing place..have everything you want

First I would like to say that I have been shopping at this location for years and this place has served me well throughout my time spent shopping there. I have noticed the staff is pretty knowledgeable about helping beginners understand what they are buying. I have only experienced a couple of sales people try to sell me things I did not need. That being said.... I went to this location to test out a new keyboard workstation, and there was someone else making a rap beat on the particular model I went there to see. No big deal, I went and checked out their selection of acoustic guitars, even though I have no need to purchase a new one. We were alone in the acoustic guitar room, so I ended up spending about 15-20 minutes playing songs for my wife and son and when I noticed so much time had passed I put the guitar back on the wall and went to see if the guy was still on the keyboard... He was and had no signs of finishing up anytime soon. I ended up walking out of there and will probably have to see the keyboard at another companys store. They seem to have a problem at this location with people sitting on floor models of instruments for hours on end. Unfortunately, the staff doesnt seem to notice the issue and therefore does not remedy the situation. This same situation of going in to see an item and having someone holding it hostage has happened to me more increasingly over the years and each time it is more and more frustrating.

Staff was super knowledgeable, honest, and attentive, even when the store was relatively busy, they made sure I knew that they would come to me next. One of the bigger guitar centers I visited, this location had a great selection. Plenty of social distancing guidelines in place, I had a pleasant shopping experience.

So I went in looking fo buy Reason upgrade, and I did, but then I also left with piano lessons. I like Guitar center, music has changed so much in 20 years, and there for Guitar center has changed as well. Support this store, it needs it.

The staff here are extremely helpful. You can try out all the instruments before buying them. I bought a rolling drum set the majority of it was in the youth section. The salesman help me to pick everything out with a great savings.

Super friendly and very helpful staff. The manager greeted me outside and very kindly explained the store was at capacity. I waited maybe 5 minutes until someone came out. The manager opened the door for me and apologized for the wait (unnecessary, but I thought it was nice). Once in the store, Jeremiah helped me pick out the right keyboard that would best suite my needs. He did an excellent job listening to my needs and showed me a great variety of keyboards that would work.Truly pleasant experience and I would definitely go back.

Okay. Staff is helpful as always, but prices are high and selection for some items (like wireless guitar xcvr) is very limited.

Bought Ernie Ball music man Albert Lee model with Rosewood Neck via the Internet. The instrument had a buzz in the low E and a string when it showed up. I didn’t have time to mess with it that day. Later on the week I made some adjustments to the saddles and the neck relief, and improved it a little bit but still did not eliminate the rattle at string heights that should not produce a rattle. Two, to 2 1/2 mm should be enough clearance for an open Estring to not rattle. I messed with the relief on the neck further, had several people look at it. Everyone determined that the frets below the 12th fret had been shaved down and leveled. The frets above the 12th fret Are untouched. This causes the frets to be higher, and the strings rattle against them when you cord something underneath the 12th fret. The guitar needs an entire foot leveling, or a re-fret. I contacted my salesman Ben Bollero. He told me that because I didn’t buy some sort of protection plan, and it was beyond 45 days of purchase, if they could do nothing to help me. I would not plan on doing business at any guitar center, or musicians friend online based off of the customer service I’ve experienced over the last 14 months with these two companies. They sold me a guitar over the Internet with flawed fret work That was not disclosed in the item description. Where I come from, this is called being dishonest.

I havent been in a Guitar Center in more than a decade, and I do regret that, because these guys are AWESOME! Heres what happened on the night of Sunday, 13 December 2020:I walked in to the store and went to look around. Immediately, the sales staff greeted me, but let me poke around without the stereotypical salesman harassment. I was looking for a karaoke machine, specifically. I couldnt find one (but yes, they had them). I went to the counter, asked for help, and they brought a man named Deshon to the register.It sounds like an exaggeration, but Deshon SAVED CHRISTMAS! At least for me. In an uncannily serendipitous moment, he admitted Im not the best with Karaoke systems, but something told me that I needed to learn more about them just this morning.Well, not the best is still light-years more than I know, and in about a 20 minutes long conversation, I figured out that Deshon does in fact know his customers needs, and he is an honest, EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE guy! He showed me the Voco-pro (I think?) System. Its exactly what I need... One problem... Its $229... My budget as of Sunday night was around $150, so sadly I didnt buy it that night, so I left empty-handed...Then I started thinking in the car... I know for a fact I can stay in budget by buying a different machine elsewhere, but it doesnt have the same features... But it didnt sit right with me, deep inside. Deshon showed me the EXACT machine that will fit my needs, and its one I will be happy with for years to come... Yeah, Im coming back and buying that machine after payday, and its because of Deshon! He was knowledgeable about the product, he was engaging and funny, and more importantly, he sought to understand ME as his customer, and thats a big deal for me. Seriously, if you need with sound systems, seek out Deshon at Guitar Center!

Great selection, friendly staff. They tend to push extended warranties worse than they do at Best Buy, but not to shabby. One thing I want to check out would be their guitar classes. They have these really cool 1-on-1 sound proof rooms for their classes. They say that is so you dont get distracted, but us beginners know darn well that is so the rest of the place doesnt have to hear us struggling to hit that D chord :D Another plus, it isnt in Crook County!

Theyve gotten much better here. I used to have to come here years ago to pick up things for a local band i worked for and they used to treat me like trash. People working there now are pleasant and nice.

They had a large selection in-store and online of guitars to choose from. Especially since I want to surprise my 7 year old with an acoustic guitar with lessons.

Decent store but not negotiating on any pricing anymore. Not sure why the policy change, but theyve got to be the only store out there doing it.....even CME will deal on pricing. Unless youre in a pinch or grabbing something cheap, I dont see buying here. They wouldnt even pick up shipping a guitar from another GC!

I love this place because its like walking into a candy store, but in this case its beautiful instruments of such delightfulness. They almost have everything you need in the world of music in their stock. Plus they give you 45 day to make sure your a happy camper with your choice!! They rule!!

Guitar Center isnt what it used to be. Now, its like a ghost town. Sales help isnt what it used to be either. Inventory for the better, more expensive instruments is very low. If you want something they dont have, they can order it for you. I can understand why online shopping is so popular. I can order my own and save the gas and time it takes to get there.

Very happy with this location! Sales associates are always willing to help with anything you may have questions about. Also, the lessons are a great way to get you started or polish the skills you have. Frank is an excellent instructor and makes an honest effort to improve you every time you’re there. Thanks guys.

This is the best guitar center I have ever went to to visit and make a purchase they were absolutely phenomenal I give them 10 thumbs up,and I live in Hammond Indiana I will drive all the way out to this guitar center in Wheaton just for the customer service they are amazing I love them and they are phenomenal they know everything about their products they are very knowledgeable very helpful very considerate kind and willing to work with you, help you make the best choices and will help you get through the process in a timely fashion. Ordered a used product online from this store. Over three days later, it still hasnt shipped. The excuse was that they needed time to find a cardboard box to ship it out in. Really? That hardly seems believable. Cancelled my order and buying off eBay instead. I used to spend about $50-100/month at guitar center. Looks like Musicians Friend just got a new customer. And why not? Faster shipping, tax free, competent employees.

Called to check if Guitar Center had synthetic sax reeds. Said yes. Drove 15 miles to purchase one. When I got there, I found they had none. A total waste.

Been here twice. Once for gift cards and this time I went in for myself. Cant remember the guys name who helped me but I just bought my first guitar and needed help figuring out what else I needed and how to use it. He was extremely helpful. I live in the city but work in the area and will definitely be back to this location.

My wife and kids bought me a $50 gift certificate to guitar center. I spent $48.50 and was told that I could not receive change even though it was less than five dollars remaining . I politely asked for the change 5 times, Especially since it was my money my wife and kids bought me a gift certificate with my money. I informed Ashley the manager of the Villa Park guitar center that I will never ever ever spend another nickel in guitar center the rest of my life merry Christmas Guitar Center and thanks for ruining the gift with your greed!

I came to this location and Rockford location at both locations no help is available and the people that they do have working there have no commmon knowledge of the equipment at the store I feel that all employees there should at least have some knowledge of the equipment that is in store.. or they sell you wrong stuff twice already I had to exchange due to them giving me wrong info.. luckily there’s YouTube and I was able to get answers I needed.. Just listening to the employees talk to others customers giving the wrong information you can just tell they don’t know what there talking about and feeding the B.S . Only good thing guitar center good for if you already know what you want and you can pick it up right always its convenient.. i suggest if you go to a guitar center do your research before ....

I called regarding a repair estimate for my guitar a while back. Needed it for a show the coming weekend and did not have the tools or recent experience to do so. The repair person gave me an estimate and said they could probably do it on the spot. They did not specify a time, so I assumed anytime before close would be acceptable. I went in several hours after my call, but several hours before close, to find the repair person had left, and was told I could leave the guitar for them to repair the next day. Instead, I received a voicemail the next day saying the repair would not be possible. So I borrowed a guitar for the gig and ordered a $20 soldering kit, which I used to repair my guitar in about 20 minutes. Sometimes they have gear I like, though, so that part is fine.
