I was concerned my vision may have changed and scheduled an eye exam with Dr. Douglass Aaseby. I received a very thorough exam. Due to my job and age, I have a wide variety of vision needs. The Optometrist, Kelly McAllister, and Dr. Aaseby answered my questions and addressed my concerns. My vision had not changed much and the change in the prescription for my glasses would be minor. It didnt make much sense to buy new glasses. I appreciate the sincerity, honesty and helpfulness I received. They put the patients needs and interests first.

Very pricy, not much of a selection. Apparently hasn’t watched the news in the past month and doesn’t know the mask mandate is over.

Demanded customers wear a mask yet didn’t have one on himself.

Dr. Doug was awesome! Also, the receptionist was helpful in explaining my insurance and giving me the best options which I appreciated. I had a pleasant experience and would definitely come back!

I came in and was able to get an appointment within the same week. It was great. The folks that work there are really nice and super helpful.I LOVE the large selection of choices. SO MANY cute frames it was hard to choose just one pair. I loved the free set of glasses too! I also got safety glasses and loved the selection. It was a great visit. Most of my order will be ready to pick up within four days!!I appreciate the staffs help and friendliness.

While I was a little leery of this place just because of the previous negative reviews, I decided to go with my gut and give them a try. When I called, the receptionist seemed a little under the weather so not very cheerful, but very helpful, had nothing but good things to say about the doctor, and got me in the same day. I was greeted with a smile when I arrived, and the paperwork was super simple. I was called back right on time and Dr. Gless was very pleasant and knowledgeable. There was a simple transition back to the front with my RX, where they went over my insurance coverage. Kelly, who I later found out was the owner, was very helpful with checking into my coverage further and placing my order. The receptionist, whom I have no idea what her name was, even helped me decide on which frames look best. I am glad I gave them a try because they proved to do a great job! I would definitely recommend this office.

The receptionist is really nice and Ive always had pleasant experiences with the optometrists. Kelly, the owner, has been pleasant enough but Im giving 2 stars for lack of empathy / rudeness while trying to find solutions to a very frustrating problem. I understand that he didnt have a solution for me, it was the attitude behind it and the way I was treated after being a customer for multiple years. Longgggg story short, my only hope for being able to see was by him ordering me an expired rx for contacts but he refused. Again, understandable, but he was rude about it. Then, he sent me a copy of my old contact rx which big bold letters that read RX IS EXPIRED. Was that even necessary? I wouldnt have resorted to asking for an expired rx, its just that a very unique situation (traveling, running out of contacts, glasses breaking RIGHT as I got home and am waiting for another eye doctor appt, and not being able to get seen by someone else in a reasonable amount of time) has led me to that. I need contacts because of my job, and that was my last resort. Not stoked about the way I was treated and not giving them anymore of my business.

Kelly was super nice and the doctor was very thorough. The doctor was just fantastic. I was leary of going here after seeing all the bad reviews but Im so happy I went here!! A+ service. I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family!! Thank you Site for Sore Eyes in Vacaville!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I have been going here for years as well as my kids, but this year there was some issue with our insurance new rules, etc.... Basically I really needed an appointment and insurance would no longer cover it for some reason. Kelly went out of his way to help me. I got to keep my appt, he helped me work out payment until I can deal with the insurance and helped me find a nice pair of inexpensive glasses so I can see again. He turned what has been an incredibly stressful week into a much better one because of his kindness. The receptionist was, as always, sweet and helpful and the new dr is very professional and friendly and fixed my messed up prescription quickly. We will continue to be loyal customers here until we leave CA.

Very nice but way to pricey got 2 glass for 1/2 their 1 at Costco

My fiancé had an appointment for EYEGLASSES. Her check in and appointment itself went very well. The receptionist while a little frazzled was very professional as was the optometrist. The optometrist went above and beyond. He asked my fiancé if she wore contacts at all as had complained her current eye glass prescription was not working any longer especially. He offered her some trial contacts to hold her over until she was able to get her new glasses.Now where the issue arise is when she was wrapping up her appointment what appeared like the store owner was lording over and upon seeing her with contact trials asked the receptionist if she had paid the contact exam copay ($60) which she had not as the contact were just a kind gesture. He than demanded via the receptionist that she pay for the contacts copay in order to get the trials despite not receiving the contacts eye exam. He was rude, pushy and showed a lack of customer service or care for his customers.The only reason I and my fiancé are giving this 2 stars is because despite the owner being rude to my pregnant fiancé and trying to take advantage of her the receptionist and optometrist were well mannered and kind.Its my hope the owner sees this review and can take the necessary steps to make the necessary steps to ensure ALL customers are treated fairly and with care. We will not however be coming back to this particular optometrist and eye wear store in the future.

The doctor was very nice but the receptionist guy , has no reception at all. He is kinda rude.
