This place is awesome! My 8 year old daughter wanted to “learn about Spider-man” and we decided to visit the store. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The guy that helped us (I can’t remember his name) took the time to walk us down the Marvel aisle and through different Spider-Man story lines. Pointed out the ones that were more age appropriate and one that had a girl hero. I think the kiddo has been bit by the comic book bug and we have found a favorite store.

Fantastic variety and selection, excellent customer service, and phenomenal covid safety. I drove from Nacogdoches as Ground Zero is my closest comic book shop and was extremely satisfied. The staff and owner were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was also blown away by their wide selection of graphic novels and single issues. If you are in the East Texas area and interested in comics, trading cards, tabletop games etc. check them out!

Ive only been in the store a handful of times, but I always walk out with what Im looking for and even things I wasnt. Its a small, super friendly comic shop and Ive never had a bad moment when stopping in. Highly recommend!

They wanted to enforce mask mandate that doesnt exist and show proof of vaccination, but rescinded that because Gov. Abbott told them they couldnt. They say that on the door. They were not friendly at all and refused to sell us more than one of the same comic book even though the variants were different.

Have tons of good memories here playing Pokémon and buying books , best atmosphere in Tyler and friendliest employees you’ll ever meet if you haven’t gone yet and you like anything pop culture or nerdy you have to go!!!

This was new store for us. Were always on the lookout for new comic and game stores to visit. Really great selection, found some comics that Ive never been able to find before! Good mask policy, good gaming area. Centrally located and easy to get to.

Good store for nostalgia, but cashier or management always seem to be looking down there noses at me and everyone Ive brought in. We have made purchases, but everytime we come in were told things are expensive and out last trip we were informed by the guy behind the desk if we wanted a cheap toy go to Walmart Im sorry but a 10 statue that is cheaply made at best isnt worth over $100. Again, not all entirely bad product, just need to learn they are in the service industry and talking down on people doesnt keep business. Games are favored and the rest are outdated. Poor restocking and keep with the current.

David and his family run a great, friendly and professional atmosphere at his comic shop! Ive been shopping with him for about 25 years now, and I will always try his shop first for a book/game/comic before heading to drive thru RPG or Amazon. Five stars.....

Omg POKEMON BUT I love THIS PLACE

These guy have been nothing but helpful to me and my family. I took my son here to help get him started with Pokémon, and I knew/know nothing about them. Everyone from the owner to the others there for the Pokémon League were very polite and helpful, and instead of telling me to go for these expensive card packs; they showed us these cheaper beginner packs to get us started. They even let us borrow a deck of their own to play with them. All in all, very nice people and atmosphere. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good place to hang out on the weekends (every Sunday to be exact).

Most people who come to play are very nice, and each employee tends to know the hobby youre interested in well, or knows who to ask who does.For anyone new however, I HIGHLY reccomend you directly ask for assistance. It can be hard to tell who is just browsing and who wants/needs actual assistance. If you ask they will happily help you!

It would be a much better place without the bald headed guy to whom I believe is the owner...he is NOT a nice man. I heard and seen the way he treats other customers and his “family” and employees.

Nice, well lit store. Good selection of various items. REALLY nice selection of hard to find board games. Active Tabletop RPG games were mixed in with merchandise though which was a concern with kids in the shop and adults role playing. No clue what shop policy is or how its enforced so Im not dinging any points though. Just the first time the tables havent been at the back and it was on my mind while in the shop and thinking about bringing my youngin.

Great costumer service and even helped me find more on Warhammer going as to explain much of the lore.

My kiddo has sparked an interest in Batman. I try to take him on my days off to pick out a new book and the selection for little ones is great! They have a lot of beginning readers/“choose your own adventure” books. On the rare occasion I can’t find something, they are always willing to order it for me.

This place was awesome! Just getting into the 40k hobby and they have everything one would need to play and get started. They have 3 large tables for competitive play and the owner advised they have days to help new players paint models and get started. Great place!

My mom Took me there two years ago know after she took me to Tyler comicon I got two wonder woman comic books and one valiant gravficnovel for $27.59 which isnt to bad at all also the guy who worked the register that day was very freaindly and profacal as can be so I am defeantly comeing back again.

I love this place. One of the things is the way they treat customers. Most places take all the variant covers as soon as they come in and triple the price. They leave them on the shelf at cover price at least until the next issue hits and even then the mark up is not bad. Always friendly and super helpful. Im always amazed at how much they know about anything I ask about.

My Dad is a comic book collector & this store refused to let him buy 2 copies of each cover (the regular cover & variant covers). He only had 4 books out of their large stock.Owner of the store was the one telling him this & was very rude about it.We will NOT be returning to this store.All new comics arent bagged & boarded so half of them are damaged.

This place is so awesome! I love how they value all of their comic book customers giving everyone the opportunity to buy a copy instead of allowing trolls to buy in bulk and resale.

Im at this shop for graphic novel club and I buy all of my game things here. The staff is wonderful and makes the place great to go into. They have a wide selection and lots of great activities. This shop is one of my favorite stores in Tyler.

While in town I stopped in to check on this long running store. I was happy to see it is still growing and thriving. I spoke with one of the counter workers and was happy to hear they are still providing a safe and friendly space for adults and children to learn to play games of all types. Their prices were fair and their selection of comics was great for the size of the store. I wish them continued success.

I love the massive graphic novel selection and especially the extensive catalog of back issues, can usually find what youre looking for in one form or another.

Ground Zero Comics is a beautifully organised (and LARGE) store with an excellent selection of new and back issues, graphic novels, omnibi, art books, statues, action figures, games, etc. There is a large gaming area for tournaments, too, but the friendly and knowledgeable staff is Ground Zeros best asset.

Ive been a customer of theirs since the doors opened. I know the owners and got to watch their kiddos grow up. I witnessed first-hand what awesome people the owners were. A special needs customer was in the store asking Mr. Dave Siegler, one of the business owners, about Donald Duck comic books. David was patient and kind, and spent nearly an hour visiting and showing the guy around. Dave and his wonderful wife Tonya may be running a business, but instead of going for a sale, instead spent some quality time visiting with a fellow comic fan.The shop is great, with gaming tables in the back. They also carry graphic novels, action figures and gaming supplies. I cannot recommend this business enough.

Ground Zero Comics is my home shop. Been going for years, and beyond a move, will continue to go. They know their stuff–both in terms of comics, games, etc. and in terms of running a business. Cannot recommend enough.

Large source of comic media, attire and accessories. Keeps both current and vintage stock. Great starting point for novice readers and comic connoisseurs alike. Looks like they host RPG gaming as well.

Varied and interesting selection. Heaps of great old comic books and graphic novels. HOWEVER, my visit was completely unnoticed by anyone even after hovering over the items I was interested in for a considerable amount of time.

Im part of a bi-weekly graphic novel book club and every time I walk in the store Im reminded why I keep coming back. The staff is friendly and create a wonderful environment, not to mention the fact that they are knowledgeable about comics both as a medium and a historic institution. I can always count on Ground Zero to help me find a wonderful book to read.

I make an 80 minute round trip to Ground Zero at least once or twice a week. Great selection and friendly and helpful service. You wont be disappointed! Check them out!

I dont know a lot about the games at this point in my life, but it seems like theres a good selection of table top games/accessories to my untrained eye. The people are nice and dont shy away from beginners

Ive been collecting comics since a teen and have been coming to Ground Zero for majority of that time. Ground Zero lets you set up an account for all the issues that one may collect and they will hold those books back for you for whenever you stop in ( even if its a couple weeks before you come in ) and never miss an issue! It is a great setup for someone like me who lives outside of town and doesnt come in every week. Ive also occasionally inquired about a graphic novel or an older comic that I have wanted and Dave said he would find it for me and everytime that Ive showed up the next time after asking he had it waiting for me. Nice to have a good local comic store and not have to always order online or go to Dallas, 5 stars!!!

I really thought the comic book selections were great! I was enjoying all the different varieties of old and new since we dont have much in Tyler. I sat down to take a look at a few of their graphic novels and after about an hour an employee came up and asked me to either buy a book or stop reading.I was appalled. I adore comics and probably wouldve bought two novels, but I wont be coming back. HORRIBLE service. Whats the point in a book store if you cant read?

A fantastic place for MTG players, both veteran and new comers.Ive only been playing for about a month and have found this shop MORE than helpful.The staff are friendly and helpful, and fun to talk with, and the shop attracts a good crowd of people just looking for fun and are willing to teach any game available at the shop, no im so much better than you players here.Just a good place to be, Id absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a good time.See you at the drafting table Friday ;)

Amazing, everything you want in a comic shop and more. Also, the new location is a lot bigger with more selection than before. If you play magic the gathering, you wont find a better location for Friday night magic (Wed night drafts too) -- the players and environment here are second to none. Great store, clean, open, and lots of Geeky merchandise. Everything from Comics, non traditional board games. Card games (MTG, Yugioh, pokemon, others). Also a great community for ( AoS, Warhammer 40k).The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, if you do not know what you are looking for.

Both the staff and community are friendly and welcoming. There is something happening every night of the week, from tcg to board games even a reading group.

I went to my first pokemon prerelease here which was celestial storm . Great selection of trading card games and comics. I was just wondering if you still do prereleases here because i can not find events and the castle had alot of bad reviews. I ended up going all the way to Dallas. Not trying to be rude its just a question i had. Awesome store thou!

The woman who answered the phone was very rude and had no interest in what I was saying. I believe she had her mind made up over what we were talking about before I could explain. She basically said if she cant make money off of what Im selling, she doesnt even want to look at it. She said she gets 10 calls a day over the same subject, implying that what I have to say is no different. She made sure to point out that they were busy and hurriedly talked the conversation to an end. Wont recommend and wont be checking it out.

Long-standing business in Tyler......the owner, Dave and his wife are super nice people. They seem tove turned down the volume on collectible comics in recent years, but understandably, they have a finite amount of space and have MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF TASTE which they have to try to accomodate.They often host some MONSTROUS MTG and Pokemon tourneys (not my cup o tea, but its still fun to see whenever youre in the store). My 6 year-old thinks this place is (literally) heaven!
