While visiting family in Portland, I stopped in here because tuning my guitar was nightmare. Took it here, and a young man was able to get it dialed in for me at no cost! I actually ended up buying strings and a strap. Wish we had this type of store in FL. Great customer service!

I live in Camas, WA but make the journey to Tigard Music because of their instrument lease program. My Daughter started playing trumpet two years ago, and wanted to switch to sax. These guys here were awesome at accommodating my Daughters switch. Their lease program is affordable, and you can use your lease payment towards the purchase of an instrument! We plan on buying an alto sax at the end of the school year. Thanks Tigard Music!

Great friendly staff. Reasonable prices. They have about 1,200 instruments that they lease out to students each year all over the Portland area. Lots of choices of instruments for just $139/school year - and of course some instruments lease for more than that if they are more rare or expensive. They usually have a great selection of new and used instruments on hand as well and they even let my kids touch lots of instruments and answered their questions. Lots of surprisingly good deals, and great service on instruments, especially for school kids and new learners. Cant beat their rentals with insurance against damage, if you have a young learner but dont feel ready to invest in a high end instrument. They give credit towards purchase from your rental as well.

Been doing business with them for years, love stopping by when I have a chance to see whats new. Bought a guitar most recently and couldnt be happier with it. Sounds amazing and looks perfect with the rest of my collection. Great selection, family owned business. Would visit these guys over guitar center any day. Amazon and the Internet will never replace real life customer service. Tigard Music is a staple of real life customer service. I recently stopped in to get my sons guitar serviced before I ship it to him in Hawaii, they not only didnt charge me for a few things, they also got it done quickly and did a great job. Bought a mic here several years back. Didnt know much about audio equipment and I was surprised to experience the level of help that I did. Mic still works great and I cant thank the gentleman enough who assisted me as the sound quality when recording affirms that I was in good hands.Great setting. Great service. Great store.

Tigard Music is the essential music store every community needs. The experience of the staff is unbelievable, but they dont overwhelm you with their vast knowledge of instruments. It would be a shame for cheap internet knockoff instruments and accessories to put this store out of business. It is worth paying a bit more to keep this valuable resource alive and well in our backyard.

Outstanding service while trying to get my daughter clarinet reeds.

Had my second hand Bass adjusted here. The truss adjustment made my neck straight as an arrow and the action height on the strings is fantastic. And they did it all free of charge! Will be coming back :)

Small store, couldnt believe that i found what i was there for.

Love this place. One of their employees, Matt, went above and beyond to introduce my 7 year old son to guitar and even showed him how to play a bit. Needless to say, my son was very excited! Just purchased the full setup for him and got introduced to a teacher to provide him lessons. You may be able to find a less exspensive setup online but youll be missing out on the experience!

Played an Airline guitar! The amp IS the guitar case. Solid body. A little worse for ware(sp). Wouldnt want to lug that around a lot. Too heavy.

Weve enjoyed Tigard Music for their prices and great customer service over the years. With 8 kids in school and all of them into various instruments (piano, violin, guitar, ukulele, clarinet, trombone, tuba & now the trumpet), theyve helped us in many ways for many years. The employees have always treated me like they personally own the business and the prices are extremely competitive! Great place to shop for little stocking stuffers as well... I went in for some guitar picks and ended with someone helping me know which picks were good for different styles/sounds. Thats a lot of help for a little money!

I brought in a trombone for repair, and Tigard Musics repair staff did an amazing job getting it fixed up. I actually came from Vancouver, WA to come here and I will certainly be back.

I called the store on 4/13 and asked the guy on the phone if they buy used instruments he asked what kind of instrument and brand and then told me to come in. So I brought the flute in and was told that they are most likely not insterested because of the brand. The guy looked at it quickly and said no. I dont know why the guy on the phone told me to go ahead and bring it in and then get told no by someone else? Kind of seemed like it was a waste of my time coming in.

Great place to shop for music needs. Mark was extremely helpful. We will be back.

They really care and didnt charge me for some minor tweaks to my acoustic guitar. Then they only charged a small amount for replacing the bridge on my guitar, lowering the action. I was very impressed and went back for something else, which they handled with the same level of customer service. These guys are great, much better than guitar center. If you need any work done, take it here.p.s. If you look at the ONLY one star review below (in fact, the only review that wasnt a full 5 stars!) she has ONLY ever written one-star reviews for everybody shes reviewed on Google! Im not affiliated with Tigard music, other than being their customer, but that one-star reviewer is clearly out to trash every store she goes into. Just read her other reviews - Walgreens, Taco Bell, AMPM, a staffing company, everybody and everything gets 1 star, which is statistically impossible, unless you have a really bad attitude to begin with and are looking for trouble! No one is safe from her unfounded trash talk. In the customer service industry, shes the type of customer you hope you never have in your store!
