First time visiting Shooters World and I was very surprised to say the least. It’s a firearm enthusiasts dream. The sales showroom is massive with anything you could really want. You can test the frame on many different handguns on the market in the center round display with probably the better part of 200 different models to choose from so you can see how you like the feel of handgun while not having to have a clerk pull the model out. It’s like a cel phone display setup.The range has friendly staff who are attentive and helpful. It wasn’t very busy on the range when I visited on a Monday. The Range Staff were also helpful and were quick to answer questions regarding operations. They kept the shell casings pushed back and out of the way often and kept it clean and enjoyable. Didn’t have a chance to visit the on site Gunsmith to get advice to dial in my optic, maybe next time. Overall a great experience and I did really enjoy my time there. I’ll post more as I use other services in the store , but it’s a laid back atmosphere and I will go back for sure.

My son and I participated in the First Shots class this past Friday evening and it was a great experience from start to finish! Derek was a fabulous instructor both in the classroom and at the range. For anyone hesitant about taking a class like this, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. They are extremely professional and there are all walks of life in the classroom and throughout the facility. I highly, highly recommend Shooters World in Tampa!

If you are a person of color, who wants to feel what it is like to be a ghost come to this store. The staff will ignore you and act offended when asked rudimentary questions. I will not be returning to this location nor any other in the franchise.

Impressive store. This is just a fun store. They provide an easy way to test the feel of over 100 firearms, have a selection of misc firearm merchandise that is impressive, and the staff was way kind. Ammo prices were also reasonable and the variety of ammo available was impressive. Definitely will return when I’m in town.

Staff are friendly and helped me pick out the right firearm for me! Thanks for the good customer service and vivid explanation of the products. My first gun purchase seemed scary but with proper explanation and training I feel much better. I plan to take some classes at shooters world to get more comfortable with my new firearm.

I had an outstanding experience taking a conceal carry class at Shooters World, the team exceeded my expectations! Instructors Drew and Darryn were kind, knowledgeable and patient. I went in with very little knowledge or experience and came out feeling much more confident in both. Not only did they explain in detail all of the safety precautions to take and how to have situational awareness, but also had an instructor from USCCA Rob, that provided additional information and opportunity for further education on self defense, weapons and insurance. Over all this was a great experience from a team working together to provide invaluable information.

I am a novice and recently purchased a firearm for home defense.I went in with an idea of what I was looking for, but that is about it. After a minute or two of looking around on my own, Luis M helped me narrow down my choices and come up with what I was looking for. He showed me several different options, patiently going back and forth between several as I changed my mind.... He also walked me through the process to complete the required forms and inform me of the process.When I picked up my new purchase, I needed several other items...case, ammo, etc. The gentleman who helped me patiently spent his time, walked me through the store, educated me, and hooked me up with all the accessories that I needed.This place is open, clean and welcoming. The staff I interacted with are friendly and knowledgeable. I am happy with my purchase and look forward to going back for any additional purchases, and to utilize the range.

The range master Jason was so helpful. My fiance and I are just getting into the swing of the gun world and Jason took his time and helped us through in and through out. Ive been here multiple times and it just seems like the range masters just want to be left alone... not Jason.. hes eager to spread and share knowledge and make sure youre doing everything correctly and having a great time. This place is Awesome with a capital A!!! So awesome that I had to tell the manager about my experience. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the young lady explained the layout of the store. One of the first I noticed is that the store has two shooting ranges. One for long distance target practice and one for close range combat. The store is basically a gun shop, a shooting range, a training facility, and a museum all in one. When I wandered over to the rifle area, Mr. Alfred made sure that I felt comfortable. He assisted me with the differences between the popular semi auto rifles and the new ones that the military are starting to use right now. I will definitely be coming back to use the shooting range where they offer you free snacks and beverages as well! All in all this was a 5-star experience. Way to go!!! 😎

This place is top notch. I could spend all day looking around at all the cool things they have here. They keep the place super clean and every single employee I talked to was nice, friendly, well-informed and not a single person was condescending. The handgun range is awesome, so are the range masters, especially Jason. He came over and gave me a quick pointer on my grip and I instantly shot more accurately in smaller groupings. He sent me on my way with positive reinforcement and told me the hours and days he works because he thought he could turn me into a real good shooter quick. I cant say enough good things about this place. Its the only range Ill go to or reccomend. If youre thinking about getting started, GO HERE. They have a ton of classes to take as well and the one I took was FREE. I cant wait to go back, Ill be there every chance I get!

Has the gun smith install some new night sights and the front sight has a bit of play was wondering if I took it back for a retightening would I be charged full price again just to turn a screw? Other than that it’s a great place with a wide selection of firearms and accessories along with an amazing range.

The class was great. Content was solid and pro. Anthony is an extraordinary young man and an incredible instructor, giving context and detail and putting real-world application to the materials. Highly recommended.

I just took the Ladies intro class and I learned so much. They made me feel so at ease and had such patience when I made mistakes. I highly recommend taking this class even if you have some experience with handguns.

It was a relaxing experience being indoors with air conditioning, and motorized targets.

WAY overpriced. I was shocked at what they charge for ammo. Literally DOUBLE what it normally costs. And they dont even have all the calibers. And they have a weird policy about Glocks they call a blue label, where they only sell to cops and refuse to place you an order. First-time shooters must go through a lengthy, time-consuming registration process to use the range. And no, Im not gonna reach out to anyone. What are we gonna talk about?

Typical large chain dealer. High prices and an FFL fee that is laughable. Check around, plenty of Mom and Pop gun stores that are half their fee, better prices and service.

They have almost everything here. Awesome range. Lots of cars here but it didn’t seem like it was crowded as this place is large.

Really disappointed with this place. My wife and I was there to purchase a gun and the salesman Mario seemed really knowledgeable at first and thought he was helping us but he really kind of screwed us over. We originally wanted to purchase a gen 5 g17 glock unfortunately they were out of stock so we decided on a gen 4 g19 glock. It took awhile for Mario to come back with it but he finally did after about 20 min and finally got all the paperwork together and we paid for it. We waited the week for pickup and went and picked it up today, we got home and looked the receipt and they rang us up for a gen 3 g19. Its a pretty huge mistake considering they dont except returns after you pickup and they basically sold us something we didnt want! Highly dissatisfied. We might check our options and possibly file a complaint with the better business bureau!

Ammo prices are double over the competitors. Stood in line for 20 minutes to buy something while the guy just sat on the phone for most of the time. It’s a nice clean place with a lot of inventory but I will never go back.

Been there before and used the range........went today with wife to teach her and it was chaotic.........they put us in with about 10 or more other people firing away in the first range room while all the other rooms were TOTALLY VACANT.....guy on the right musta had a 50 cal or canon and the shells from the guy on my left were hitting my arm.........a perfect situation with for bad things to happen with guys moving around with guns, etc. So, didnt spend much of our allotted time today...aggravating not being able to talk with all the noise, etc. On our way out, I asked the gun ranger why were we all packed in like sardines.............short on personnel was his comment which is BS. They just created the perfect storm for serious and dangerous things to happen. So, not impressed with their management skills!!!!

Terrible first time and last.. my friend and I walked in at 7:30 looked around no help at first then asked a lady where the range was cause we wanted to shoot, and while we were watching the intro video a young short skinny blonde girl with attitude and probably anger management issues yelled across the store saying were closed. To my friend and I. After the fact my friend asked how come? we called. Then she changed her mind and told us that the range closes at 8:30 so we only had 30 min to shoot with more attitude. The disrespectful attitude that this female gave us makes me never want to come again. Although my friend spoke highly of yall Id never imagine in all the years ive been at a range would of been treated like a dog.

Nice and clean range with great A/C. Friendly staff. Had to wait 30 minutes for a lane. They take your cell number and text updates every 10 minutes. Then they text when your lane is ready. Very cool.

I have been a SW member since 2014 usually going to the range once or twice per week. It has been a great experience until recently. Now every time I go there and book a pistol or a rifle range for myself, the target retrieval systems are broken or break during the operation. It happens every single time!!!! They do not break because someone shot a cable or hit a rail, etc. They just break because of poor quality or poor maintenance. I have no idea who looks after those systems but, cmon, Shooters World, if that guy cannot do his job, find a better tech to get it fixed!There are total of 7 rifle lanes and only 1 or 2 are actually working, the rest need to have a battery replaced or something else fixed. This is unacceptable! I know other customers who are really upset by this.Why is it so hard to get things right and make all customers happy??? We are paying monthly fees on time, we take time driving there and still need to wait for 30 minutes or more until one lane becomes available? Instead of investing money into the outside looks and all the bells and whistles, why cannot the managers put the funds into something valuable, like fixing the target systems???Shooters World owner, please step in and get the targets fixed.Updated on October 26th:The rifle target systems have been repaired lately and are now working properly.

This place is beautiful. As a former employee, I wanted to revisit the store after years of not being there, and make a (an impulsive) ccw purchase. I received plenty of nods as people walked by, but nobody asked to help me or see if I needed assistance.The tactical department attendant did not say a word to me as my son and I were looking around, and the pistol/ hunting rifle/ sporting shotgun areas lacked personnel as well.I was excited to see that they had plenty of IMI 5.56 on hand.This store is gorgeous and is very neat. The aesthetic improvements are awesome, but I felt that it was lacking the customer service that it used to provide. I ended up leaving without making a purchase.

Came here for the first time today and had a great experience. Clean and lots of space to move about. Reasonable prices for the range and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Jason and another gentleman were great and did not disappoint. I’ll be back!

They allowed me to buy a gun i waited 5 days then when I went to pick it up they told me I couldnt take it home because of my address. Why would they allow me to buy the gun? Then I was met with disrespect at the counter from cashiers and the manager on duty. To the point where I felt challenged. I will never come back to this place. Bad business and disrespectful attitudes.

So my wife and I came here for date night. We just arrived 90 minutes before closing time like the website asks. I had called earlier and confirmed they were open. When we arrived just now, the dude at the front desk just says range is closed, they do that sometimes. - no apology, no empathy or customer service. Just 100% apathy and i cant care less about my job attitude. It was unreal. We wont be back guys... But i dont think you care.

This establishment is beyond thorough and helpful! I purchased 2 ARs and looking forward to doing more business with them.

Great place. Inventory is solid. The variety of merch a far as different brands of firearm big names to obscure stuff like an old Italian bolt action rifle from ww2. Oh and the gunsmiths were top notch. I cant stress that enough. I recommend this place to any 2A people in the area or surrounding areas. Its definitely worth the trip.

Stop with the shooters card. Allow people to shoot braced pistols on the rifle range. Lower your 50$ transfer fee. Then you’d be a 4 or 5 star place. A lot of potential but poorly ran.

I would like to say thank you, and give a big shout out to some special staff at Shooters World Tampa: Managers Brian and Jason, sales guy Dan, and gunsmith Parker...You guys gave me a fantastic buying experience. Gunsmith Parker mounted and zeroed a beautiful optic onto my new special firearm. They have a new lifetime customer!

Piss-poor customer service, very high prices, even for a pandemic. Staff wasted our time for an hour, only to tell me I couldnt pick up my used gun until next month. Then, after offering to help out with another gun purchase, was told after searching for another shop to price match (by Marcel[?], the manager) that they dont price match unless its in stock, in a brick-and-mortar store, the exact make and model, AND then after we found all that, it has to be within 60 miles.So after that disappointment, I told them to cancel my purchase and refund my entire balance, including my background check fee. He then wanted to argue with me over refunding the $5 fee. After finally getting that refunded, we were told to never come back to that store again. Dont worry, Marcel, I wont ever go back. Back to Shoot Straight I go - much friendlier people and better prices!

Worst experience like a customer. My uncle bought a Smith & Wesson 610 and he dont like the revolver. He wanna give the S&W for a Ruger in trade in and after paid $1079 for S&W they only offer $150. This situation happen with 3 days only from the day he bought and the intent of trade in. Totally disrespectful. I will never comeback to this place.

Amazing buying experience and customer service! I have been trying to purchase a very hard to find gun for a while. I met the manager Bryan and he consistently provided me a follow up until he found one for me while other gun brokers only promised they would find it. Bryan and his counter part Steve along with this entire Shooters World location took amazing care of me from start to finish. I couldn’t be more happy and will be a life customer!

Tried to work out a transfer with Andrew, my dealer sent him all information needed, but they did not like the format and made me wait over a week to get my guns.

Really good experience!! It was my first time shooting so I was very nervous, in the beginning a little confuse since the shooting area is all the way back, once we got there you filled some information and from there , the customer service start really well. Anthony, they guy who is with the guns, was over the expectation! He took the time to explain the whole process, give me the recommendations, he make sure that all questions where answered. I felt it was a lot in the beginning but he make me feel more confident about the whole experience.Really good experience and definitely coming back saw

Can you give less than 1 star?I stopped in today hoping to buy a Mossberg Shockwave, a Glock 20 and an FN fnar.As I walked by the customer counter the guy didn’t look up to welcome me to the store, he just stared off in space.I went to the cash register area, a guy and a gal were there, she was speaking on her microphone with someone and the guy was also just staring off in space.I went to the Tactical area, a short young round kid was there again with glazed eyes just off in space.No other customer there but me.I cleared my throat, said excuse me, do you have a shockwave, he turned, picked up a shotgun, racked it 6-7 times, read the barrel and then turned back to me showing it to me.I asked what they wanted for it, he didn’t know, but would find out.I looked at it and again asked him how much and again he said he would find out.I asked if he could find out now while I’m here, he nodded.I said I would be right back while he “found out” the price.I went to another area and again one employee just staring off in space, I went further and another employee had turned his back to the showroom and was off somewhere.I walked the entire store looking for anyone that might be capable of conducting business and was about to give up when I say a different colors shirt. I asked for the manager.His name tag said faustino, and he said he was the manager.I shared what I have just written and he just stood there.He wished me a good day.This place is the pits, the absolute opposite of a professional business.As I was leaving a man ahead of me said this store used to be good, he hates coming here also!Try Reload in Tarpon Springs, they are the epitome of what a retail store can be!

The driveway is littered with shell casings and it gave me a flat tire, and the. I went In to get my item and they left me standing around for thirty minutes since I already paid 7 days before. Once they get your money, they treat you like dirt.

Absolutely appalling!! Purchased an NFA item 6 months ago and waiting status of tax stamp. Found out today when calling to check on status that Nothing was ever filed with the ATF. Horrible customer service and clearly people working there that have no common sense, knowledge, or customer service skills. Asked for a refund of my items and was told I need to come in tomorrow to talk to the person who failed to file my paperwork properly 6 months ago. After getting back home I called and asked to speak to the general manager, had to reiterate the entire story to the employee who said I needed to speak to the abysmal failure who didnt properly file my paperwork also. So I restated that was why I asked to speak to the general manager, I was then told to hold and transferred to a general mailbox. I highly recommend not getting screwed over by this company if you are in search of any NFA item!

Today, I discovered its Shooters World policy to require ID with EVERY purchase.I tried to buy a holster, but unless they are enabled to track me and ALL my purchases they wouldnt make the sale. This was verified as the policy by the manager. I suspect theyre building a customer database for marketing which I get, but Im sick of giving up information and getting marketed at by some faceless company.This, coupled with the shooters card is just too much.I guess Ive got to make more of an effort to patronize local shops.

They are the mask police. Secondly now they make you buy a range card for 10.00. I asked what the ID card is for and they had no valid answer. My guess nothing but a money grab. We had 5 people and I asked for 3 lanes and was told that would be hard. We were sent to lane 8 &9. The whole time lane 7 was empty.

This place use to be a joy to go to and shoot, now the customer service and price gouging has gotten terrible. I have been coming to Shooter World in Tampa for years. I still have the original photo ID they gave you after you filled out your liability waiver, my membership card is so old most of the current employees have never seen one like mine, I have had 20+ people become members from my recommendations, and I have spent countless of dollars purchasing and upgrading my firearms. Needless to say I like this place but the feeling does not seem to be reciprocated.Over the last 1-2 years all the good employees have either been fired or quit due to upper management. Talking to the current employees and they will tell you how unhappy they are not to mention the customers. I was there this weekend with my nephews and I asked to speak to a manager about a question I had and he would not take the time to come out and speak to me thus solidifying the fact that this company could not careless about their customers anymore. I tried calling and no one ever answers the phone.The prices have gotten out of hand also. I know that we are in a crazy period of time with the pandemic and civil unrest but they have been price gouging also. The only 9mm ammo they have had in the range are reloads made by HSM which only makes reloads. When I brought this to the attention of management they argued with me and said they dont sell reloads when I emailed them proof they did not respond (see attached photo of box of reloads and receipt showing I bought them there). On top of that the first time I bought them there the box cost $29.99, 2 weeks later the same box they are now charging $39.99. The prices for the firearms even before the pandemic were priced at MSRP or higher which is anyone knows anything about purchasing firearms is way over priced.I am leaving this here know that it wont do any good and management could not care less but I needed to get this out.

Spoke to Tome or Tom on Friday to inquire about Multi Firearm experience.Told him I live about 1 & 1/2 hours away to see if the range would have a long wait. He said you should be fine if you arrive early and can fill out the waiver form online or on-site. No worries. Drove over 1.5 hours to find out that you need to have TWO people to have the Multi Firearm Experience. That would be Real Good information to provide someone while speaking to them about the experience for over 5 minutes and BEFORE they drive so long to get there.

This is my new go to range, everyone was awsome. The range officer was super cool helping me um jam my rifle. This range allows Shotguns, rifles, and they let you shoot magnum loads which is awsome too!! Ive lived in the Tampa Bay Area my whole life, been to quite a few ranges, this is hands down the best one if you want to shoot every category of firearm.

Large selection of guns to choose from but the employees aren’t the friendliest. Very stone face, no sense of humor, not very welcoming. But the ranges are spacious, easy to use.

This place is awesome. I went in knowing literally nothing, but wanting to learn. A man named Sean helped me, showed me things, and signed me up for a first shots class. He then helped me find a nice gun. He really went above and beyond, and I highly recommend this place.

Went to Shooters World today to trade a gun back that I bought 2 days ago. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, the gun was used, not new, as I had intended to purchase. The staff was so professional and went above and beyond to help me trade in the one I had bought inadvertently and allowed me to purchase the gun I had intended to get. I couldn’t be happier with the customer service or their professionalism, especially because of some of the negative comments I had read on this site. I didn’t have high expectations that there would be a good resolution but I was completely wrong and overwhelmed with a good outcome. We will definitely be back and support Shooters World 100%. I want to specifically recognize the GM Brian, Manager Tasha, and sales associate Thomas at the tactical weapons counter. Their understanding of my situation and the resolution restored my confidence in this establishment. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Had a blast with friends & Im glad they take COVID seriously

I took a friend to give her some hands on with a few firearms without having to rent, along with some training. I met more than one nice employee there that went out of their way to be friendly, that was a welcome change. Their firearms are priced through the roof, however. I understand the shortage, but I dont expect every major corporation to cash in on it. Just my opinion.

2nd time being denied access to the range for “being late”, even though a member walked in the line next to me and was able to shoot, why does it matter if I’m a few mins late? I don’t care about a full hour and there was a whole room of empty lanes, what a waste of time.

I want to start off by saying the lady who helped me while making my firearm purchase was nothing but exceptional. However, this is one of the most expensive places around for firearms and ammo. Unfortunately it was the only place that had what Ive been looking for in stock so it was pay up or shut up. Im talking at least $100 more than everyone else in the area provided they had it in stock.. The price of ammo is outrageous too. 14.99 for 20 rounds of 5.56?? And they have cases sitting there. You can only buy 1 box, well your boxes and cases are sitting there because its over .70 a round. Thats outrageous. Picked some up on bass pros website for .45 a round and I didnt have a purchase limit. Definitely a novelty. The staff is nice but this is a money grab.

Nice staff but prices are too expensive. Mossberg bullets were 50.00 vs Shoot Straight for 29.99. Prices for ammo is way too much.

FFL fees are a bit pricey but other then that overall great store/range. Only downside is receiving never answers their phone even after you leave a message.

In late June I purchased a G17 VDI Slide assembly that was mislabeled with a store sticker that says it was cutout for RMR over the VDI sticker that says for Venom or Fast Fire. I went to return or exchange the slide and was told since I didn’t have my receipt that I couldn’t even though I have the credit card proof of when I purchased it from there. Mentioned I have the credit card proof and was told “we don’t return gun components”. Said it didn’t matter the part was mislabeled. Nice to see once Shooters World has your money they don’t care about customer service. As a disabled vet living on limited income it’s nice to see that I now have a $700 paperweight to enjoy looking at. Thanks Faustino!

I just wanted to take a moment and share how incredible our experience was today! The store was absolutely immaculate, the staff was especially gracious and attentive and I want to thank our safety instructor Anthony for making our day so perfect. He took his time with us and was patient and extremely thorough explaining everything to us step by step. I also want to thank the stores General Manager, Brian Weigold, for his attentiveness and kindness to us, this meant a lot as it was our first time visiting the store. First Shots class with Derrick was great!

(1) customer service and trying to purchase an item is not a great experience. Staff member CINDY is very rude and should not answer phones or work in customer service.(2) Store has the best variety and brands, the most guns to choose from however the pandemic has taken its toll. Still the best “go to” store in Tampa if you can tolerate the long lines.

I ordered a firearm online and picked Shooters World Tampa location to do the tranfer after doing business for years at Shoot Straight. I regret the decision because at Shoot Straight as soon as they get the firearm they contact you immediately, at Shooters World, I have to wait for them to call after they prepare it for pick up and they informed me that it may take up to 3 days because they are short staffed. I figured since I was standing there in front of them they would take care of me. I was wrong... Look like Ill be heading back to Shoot Straight.

Got a groupon for four people and its been a nightmare. You have to pay a $10 per person membership fee which does nothing. Its literally just a fee to charge more money, no benefit. Almost got disqualified for having a low cut blouse. I will never go back to shooters world.

After we walked in and spent $5000 on a new rifle, scope, and suppressor we find out that they sold us the wrong suppressor. We specifically asked for the one that would go with the rifle we are purchasing and the salesman ensured it was the right one. After speaking with the manufacture they informed us that they in fact sold us the wrong one and we need a different model. The manager told us that we cannot return suppressors and that we are basically out of luck. Talk about horrible customer service to someone who has literally spent thousands of dollars in this place. A business should own up to its mistakes and at least offer some store credit or something to attempt to make it right after they just cost us $1000 on THEIR mistake. This place is a joke. We thought they would have sales people that knew what they were doing but apparently not all of them do.

Air Gunner Friendly!Very Clean place to shoot, friendly staff. The only neg I found is they would get more of my business if they didnt carry pneumatic toys and ammo. Air gunners spend big bucks on our rifles too.

Friendly knowledgeable staff, large selection of firearms. Ammo was limited but available which is rare in these times. Will definitely go back.

We here for my Wife’s Birthday. The Staff was super friendly and helpful. This was her 1st time at a range they were able to suggest a great weapon for to try. Thanks for the good time you guys ROCK!!

My boyfriend and I have never owned guns but are considering getting one for home protection. Moose was a fantastic help. He was informative and was not condescending despite us being beginners. He showed us good options in our price range and gave his honest opinion about the products. He also gave us a little tour of the range and invited us back to practice with the guns we were looking at. I rarely write reviews but Moose was so great we wanted to give him a little shout out.

Ive been here a few times to shoot, purchase some firearms, and take my CCW Class. Overall every experience has been excellent thanks to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The facility itself is top notch with probably the best selection of firearms in town and they even stock from lesser known brands. The only negative I can say is that they get extremely busy to shoot during the weekends during the middle of the day although my wait has never been more than about 20 minutes.

The staff here are super friendly. I have not used the range but I have bought from them a few times and have always been happy. Usually have a good stock and quality. My only downfall is the amount of dead animals in there but that’s just not for everyone. Otherwise see you all soon I’m sure.
