I had a great experience today at Southeastern! As soon as I got there I was greeted by Gary who took his time to fix my pole as well as helped me pick out a new rod and reel. I was also assisted by Max who helped me pick out all of the tackle that I needed for an upcoming fishing trip and took his time to help me set up a few leaders, taught me how to tie a few knots and gave me good advice. I appreciate the friendly service!

This is a shop that has old, recent, and brand new gear! The aisles are all completely full from the top to the floor! Clothing to fishing rod repairs! They have all the saltwater tackle and freshwater lures to have you on your favorite spot properly equipped to handle a day of fishing. The store is expansive, so it will require an hour or so to peruse the merch. There are plenty of rod and reel combos all in one store to ensure you find something you like! 4/5 stars.(Please repair the flooring to ensure the safety of your customers as that will be far costlier in case of accident.-1 star)

I stopped in Sunday afternoon, although the placed looked cleaner it lacked its previous charm and friendly staff. The guy I believe to be the owner was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. Not worth the drive.

Could not get nobody to wait on me, once they found out how much I was looking to spend. The good. They have everything in that store except the fish themselves. I have never seen such an inventory. If they dont have it, it hasnt been invented yet. Yes I recommend the store and yes I will go there again.

The young people staffing this shop show great real respect for customers and the environment, And they seem to know where every little thing is -- and the show pride in how much they know about each little thing. Theyre honesty in talking about how the bytes not on right now, instead of trying to push something that just wont-work was refreshing. I had an islet replaced on my fishing rod, and I was able to pick up a used rod and a good price. From a respectable array of build your own supplies, and brand names, to customized rods, this place has the equipment to get you on the water. As I was looking through the isles, while a bit higher than my yard sale prices, they have in stock every lure Ive ever seen catch a fish. While parkings a challenge, and the storefront is not waterfront, this is a respectable this shop, staffed with people who are knowledgeable and respectable. Its the place for guides and working fishermen, as well as the more dedicated sportsman. I think they should have their own YouTube channel, or ticktock, or something. If youre serious about fishing, its worth the trip across the bridge. What I didnt mention was the display cases full of used reels at reasonable prices, and they also have racks and racks of ready to go fishing rods, and rod reel combos. Buy something new, and pick up the thread or let them fill the spool.

Very helpful but nobody bugging you making you feel like its not ok to just look around either. Its a long drive for me but Ill still go back from time to time just because I like it better than any other shop Ive been to in all of the St Pete area.

I dropped my fishing rod off to get some of the guides replaced the gentleman that did the repair took extra time in matching the guides and also the string. I really appreciate how fast the turnaround was so I could take my son fishing I will be bringing in all of my rods and reels from now on to get serviced or repaired thank you so much

Came to return a defective tackle bag my girlfriend purchased for me as a Valentines day gift , I was greeted immediately by the gentleman with glasses who asked what brought me in today.. I let him know that the plastic strap was missing. He proceeded to check out the bag and said lets get you a new one! We went over to the selection of bags and he pulled out a new one completely intact. I shook his hand and he let me know how much he appreciated my business and I went on my way!! Fantastic customer service by this gentleman.

Bought my Stellar Lite rod here a while back and brought it in for repair as the top 2 eyelet needed replacing, got it back and the drunk that fixes the rods messed up the epoxy mixture around the guide (its still sticky 2 weeks later) and the top guide was off center. Before we could even go fishing, while trying to put on a new hook, the the rod snapped just above one of the guides that was improperly fixed-- there was no heavy tension on the rod that would have made that happen. So, I brought my rod back in in an attempt to have it replaced as Star Rods has a lifetime warranty. I spoke with two of the younger employees, they confirmed that the epoxy was mixed incorrectly and laughed about the poor job that was done by Gary. They called the owner to the front as they were not allowed to do the return, I waited for over 15 minutes and then the owner, Mike, was unhelpful and tried to place the blame on me & my husband for the rod snapping. He questioned how the line was fed through and then proceeded to teach me something on how to put the line through to put on a new hook. I am not an idiot, but that is how I was treated. The warranty that Star Rods offers is the reason I bought this rod. Ive seen these rods replaced with no hassle numerous times at other stores for reasons like breaking because theve been closed in car doors.... BUT that is not what happened with my rod. Instead of Mike providing good customer service and just replacing it under the warranty, he placed the blame on me and wouldnt replace the rod. Seems to me he just didnt want to take a chance on whether or not Star Rods would cover it under warranty. My husband and I have shopped here for years and years and have spent thousands of dollars here, we love to be able to shop local, but this is unacceptable repair service and absolutely unacceptable customer service. Whatever happened to the nice lady that worked the front? We will not be back, you have lost our business and we will spread the word regarding the shoddy work being done by the alcoholic in the repair shop as well as the terrible customer service being provided by the owner. Thankfully, we have Bass Pro!

Best place to have your stuff repaired. Gary is an old salt who is no nonsense and knows his stuff. Their pricing is excellent and their turn around is pretty quick. I have had several reels and rods repaired by them and its always been a great experience.

Went here today to get started saltwater fishing with little knowledge since I only have been freshwater fishing and they took the time to recommend a saltwater rod and reel setup, line hooks and bait. Great customer service and I would recommend to anyone out there!
