Customer service is definitely alive and well at consumers hardware. I dont know, chances are you havent read my review on the hard hat gear store on South Campbell avenue but it reminded me a lot of this service that I got over there. consumers hardware first open their doors in the 40s and theyve been continually doing business and serving the Springfield public since then. I think that legacy alone has a lot of value to it and is worth supporting. they had a little more than most hardware stores also, for instance they had cooking supplies. if I was to guess I would wager that 90% of the business this place gets is from repeat customers and regulars who go there for the customer service and small town feel of the place which I totally get. in fact Im going to try to get my bosses to set up an account here. this is kind of off the subject but if youre a flashlight collector like myself, they got a great selection of flashlights! anyway I just wanted to write this five-star review for them because I know that anytime you go there you will get five star service and five star prices, and because I hadnt heard of this place the entire time Ive lived in Springfield, which is almost a decade, I wanted to do my part to spread the word about it. please come by next time you need hardware store things and Im sure theyll be happy to see you and that theyll be happy for your business!

I like going there because I dont have to deal with people that dont know what there talking about.. these guys are consumer hardware, not only did they know there business, they care about what ever project your working on and they make sure 6ou yet the right stuff to do it with , and give you options if needed... love the place....They gave me the line to fix my compressor works perfect....

Always find what I need for repairs and such. The staff are forever helpful and just so nice. Highly recommended. Been trading here 45 years..

A real, honest-to-goodness hardware store. I had looked everywhere for parts for my pressure canner and couldnt find them. Somebody suggested Consumers, and they had everything I needed, and more. Plus, the young man went out of his way to be helpful. Im sorry I didnt get his name, but he is a credit to the store.

Very old school hardware store and they have a surprising hard to find inventory.If I cant find it at Lowes or Ace hardware, I know they will have it. I find automotive hardware that even the scrap yards dont have.

I love this store. It might not have everything in a Lowes or home Depot but it has all the basics you might need. The staff here is much more knowledgeable than at a big box store, the tools are of a higher quality and the prices are often better. They also have some cooking and canning supplies that you would be unlikely to find at a different hardware store.

I called them and try to ask questions, the man who answer the phone wasnt interested in listening to a question ! All he wanted to do was interrupt with question of his own ! I dont think I would want to do business with people who arent courteous to would be customers ! If they cant listen, then they aint going to get my business !
