I had very little knowledge about building a van electrical system, and there is no way I could have accomplished it without their help.Garret helped me design the perfect system for my needs, and then he, Gen, and all of the other folks there helped me every step of the way. Their kits came complete with just about everything I needed, and their diagrams and videos were the perfect resource for someone with very little experience. When I needed help beyond those resources, they always answered my questions in a friendly, helpful, and timely manner. And their friendly attitudes when answering questions (some of them twice) were comforting and encouraging.I could never have accomplished this buying components from a place like Amazon. I needed guidance and support, and at AM Solar, I got it.I cannot recommend them highly enough, and if I ever build another solar electrical system, they will be the first call. They should be your first call, too. You wont be disappointed.

Bought a solar kit from them and used their extensive DIY videos and FAQ’s to help guide me through the process. And when I hit those inevitable DIY unforeseen snags they were really helpful in working thinking those through. The kits are a little more expensive than sourcing it all yourself but they really have everything you need meaning no time consuming trips to the hardware store and/or waiting on parts to be shipped.

I’m very pleased that I chose AM Solar for my Inverter setup. Not only do they supply that best products in the industry, they have outstanding support. I had to call couple of times and they were so helpful. When you purchase a design setup, they have excellent diagrams to follow. AM Solar was a five star experience across the board. Cody was amazing when assisting me with the design of the system. The office staff and Genevieve went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule so the 5th wheel could be left at their facility the Friday before our scheduled check-in.James was the lead on the install of the system. James and his team did a beautiful job on the installation of the components. You would swear the trailer was rolled off the assembly-line with the system in it. I was traveling from Iowa to Washington state , when the solar system installed by Lichtsinn RV failed to provide electricity . I contacted AM Solar on Monday afternoon and spoke with Mitchell, who offered to look at the Winnebago the next day. The 300 mile overnight drive was well worth it, as Mitchell started at 9 AM on Tuesday. It took him less than 5 minutes to find the problem ( 2 loose nuts ) , and in less than 30 minutes he had fixed the problem, updated the system, and I was on my way. AM Solar and Mitchell are very knowledgeable, efficient, and were so accommodating before the Labor Day weekend that they exceeded all expectations. The AM Solar team did an awesome job with upgrades to our 35 travel trailer. They added additional solar panels, new solar charger controller, portable solar panel, Victron inverter/charger, 4 lithium batteries, color display monitor, and more. As you can see, all of it was housed in a small portion of one of the trailer storage bays. Very neatly done! Excellent work!

We were interested in a major upgrade of our motor homes electrical system so that we could spend as much time off the grid as possible. Decided to buy a complete DIY kit from AM Solar for my Sprinter’s electric system. Not having much experience I am so glad I went this route. Everything they sent was labeled and corresponded perfectly with the custom wiring diagram they provided. Was able to hook everything up and it worked perfectly the first try. I don’t even want to think about trying to figure out wire sizes and connecting everything properly on my own. Would recommend this to everyone.

As a non-technical, first-time Dodge Sprinter converter, I opted to go with AM solar because they presented everything in a clear manner. I spoke with them at length on the phone and followed their recommendations given my needs. Incidentally, what they recommended was substantially different than what I expected. Turns out, they were dead on!Ended up with kit of panels, control, wiring, etc., which at first seemed pretty scary for me to install given that I know nothing about electricity. After reading the directions, I took to it and had the entire system up and running in about 12 hours. Simple as pie!Ive since reached out to them with questions to enhance my set up (none of which including additional purchases) and theyve supported me without hesitation.5 stars for ease of use, quality of product, and all around great customer service. Can recommend AM Solar enough!

Upgraded our Airstream to 600 amp hours of lithium battery with 600 watts of solar and 3kw inverter. Work was done 3 years ago. Still super happy. The team, work and after sales support are amazing. Visiting again today to start a massive custom power upgrade for a large Sprinter van. This time we are doing 1600 amp hours and 10 kilowatts via dual inverters. Can not say enough about my experience with AM Solar! There help and detail to what was needed to make the install on my RV was right on! After many days of reviewing internet systems and installers problems I was convinced; do it right with someone who does this for a business! They supplied me with a turn-key system that was easy to follow and I didnt have to make all those trips to your favorite Hardware Store for all the items, screws, wires, bolts, tape, sealer....you get the point. We have been working with staff at AM Solar over the phone for years in preparation for installing solar on our fifth wheel. We have heard lots of stories of how to do solar cheap. We knew AM Solar was not a cheap option, but we also wanted it done right. We got 870 watts of solar panels on our roof at AM Solar. We had to wait over four months for an appointment, and we had to move out of our home for the project to get done. It all was SO worth it. We had the job done over a month ago, and we are very, very pleased with the work that they did for us. Staff is super knowledgeable, patient, helpful and professional. It is worth every penny to come here. I would do it again, and really appreciate their approach. We could have done lithium and paid even more, but after thinking it over we decided not to do it until our AGM’s are not functioning. We hope that by this time the price and options improve as the lithium technology is greatly improving all the time. Thank you AM Solar.

Purchased solar products from this company sent numerous requests for service by email with no response .They are so unhelpful when it comes to support.If you have purchased from other suppliers don’t even bother to speak to them unlike most other suppliers that seem to be happy to help. I will say they are knowable and provided you have a turnkey install you might receive a different of response.Just consider there are better choices for equipment suppliers with great customer service.

I called on Friday afternoon of a three day weekend, and needed a charge controller. Dave answered the phone, identified the correct product, and completed the purchase. I needed it immediately for a camping trip, but ordinary shipping wasnt going to be fast enough. Dave agreed to meet me the next morning at a rest area on the freeway as he was going that way on his holiday. He arrived as planned and I got the controller. AM Solar replaced my (damaged) flooded batteries with lithium. I wanted the batteries in the same spot as my current batteries (in the step) but when the number I wanted wouldnt fit, they found a creative place to put them without losing any storage.Throughout the process they answered my novice questions and explained everything to me, making sure I understood how things worked and how to reach them if something didnt seem right.I highly recommend their services.

I purchased the ZS90S Solar Panel Kit with Rocker Mounts. I could have gone with a much less expensive option but like many people wanting to add an additional panel to an existing Zamp system, quality and quick- plug an play install were deciding factors. Much to my surprise the connectors that allow you to plug this panel to my existing Zamp box are not included with this kit. Im really impressed with the hefty cable that came with this kit but without the Zamp connectors its useless. You should tell people they will need to purchase these connectors separately if they plan to add it to an existing Zamp system.

I bought a lithium ion battery and alternator charging package from AM Solar for DIY installation. Everything came well labeled. The measure of a company is its after-sale care, and Garret has answered tens of emails during the installation process. Recommended!

We bought our solar panels, controller, cables, monitor from AM three years ago. We contacted via email for an issue and Garrett kindly gave us his time in reply to troubleshoot. This is the best solar company you can choose for off grid or RV!!! They rock it in every way.

I traveled 2,200 miles across the country to get 960 watts of solar and 400 amp-hours of lithium because I wanted the best when it came to reliability, service and support.It’s been 4 years since, almost 35,000 miles across the western U.S. and Canada, almost entirely dry camping, and going months without having to run my generator.I was initially concerned about long distance support but got exactly what I needed to solve every problem.I’ve called them from a remote camp on the edge of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon; from a Walmart in Rock Springs, WY; and from just outside of San Antonio, TX.The most recent was panic city. I got engrossed in the news, overflowed my fresh water tank, and water leaked into my battery and inverter bays. Lights were flickering and my ARC-50 remote monitor was dead. The batteries alone cost me about $4,000 and I was worried I would have to add 2,200 miles of travel expense to their facility in Springfield, OR.It took two days working over the phone with Sean Daggett and a sleepless night but suddenly, everything was working properly.I really appreciate Sean’s patience and expertise when it counted most. I was told I could get my solar installation done more cheaply that AM Solar but I wanted the confidence that comes with the best and I got more than my money’s worth.

Their 675W solar installation on my class C motorhome was excellent! Their clean and efficient installation was better than the original wiring done when the coach was built! What really sold me on AM Solar is that they USE what they sell. This allows me to have the absolutely best solar system the market has to offer for my RV and budget. (Meaning from the solar panels to controllers to the hybrid inverter to the lithium battery bank are all combined and installed with their extensive experience knowing what works and what doesnt on a RV.) These folks are the best, and plan to be the best for a long time.Longer:I found AM Solar online and hired them to install a large and complicated system in my 2007 Newmar All Star. (41 Class A) My wife and I live and work remotely in it full time. We are both employed full-time and require an RV electrical system that is indestructible and powerful. We chose AM Solar because of the positive reviews people have written here. They were also cheaper than another quote we got for a similar system, though admittedly still MUCH pricier than installing it all ourselves. I was happy to pay the price because I wanted to be able to call someone as invested in the project as I was if ever it ceased to work like it should and we happened to be far from civilization. It sounded like they might be.Having the system installed, Im now sure of that. They love the work they do. They care about the systems they install and they get that peoples experience during and after installation is what is going to keep business successful. So far, I havent needed to even pick up the phone because the system is superlative, intuitive, and most importantly: works like a dream. Its also a work of art, with beautiful detail of installation which I didnt expect since they werent the most expensive option, nor did I think was it possible to make an electrical system a thing of beauty.Their pride in their work is self-evident. If you want a system that works, this is the place to go. You can do it cheaper yourself for sure, but when its time to hire, save the massive headaches and use these guys. Not only will you not have headaches or waste time, it will be a truly pleasant experience at a price point that shouldnt merit such great care. Theyre efficient and experienced enough in their work that they can create a customer experience superior every other RV experience Ive had and still beat competitor installation pricing.Further, the manner in which they carry themselves and conduct business is nothing short of exemplary, to the point of materially diminishing their own profit for the satisfaction of their customer.I would hire again, and wouldnt spend even a moment shopping around.

Ive ordered a couple from AM Solar, and they rock! Their YouTube vids are well thought out, and Ive gotten thorough, quick, authoritative replies to questions. Now that I know them, next time Ill order my ENTIRE system from AM Solar.PS, The Victron SmartSolar Bluetooth equipment is absolutely top drawer. Certainly it costs more, but a helluva lot less than new batteries. Built rock solidly dependable, its what you need when out in the boonies.

If you know absolutely nothing about solar and have tons of money to just throw away, this is the place for you.The RV market is admittedly expensive but these guys are criminals. I took a close look at the order list for all the components and was astounded at the max retail prices for each item along with some sneaky overpricing (try $95 for a simple 30 amp breaker (available at a hardware store for $12))Do not trust these people to give you a fair price. They are out to take you to the cleaners!

I just picked up a complete system install for my Sprinter last weekend. The experience of working with AM Solar has been resoundingly positive. I first ran into stories online about them and early adopters of LiFePO battery systems — and my initial inquiry was responded to in a balanced and upfront manner. They affirmed that my goals were reasonable and my basic calculation were on target. Then it became time to refine things and this was best done in person when I dropped my rig off for the installation.The install work looks great, and the clicking solenoid and occasional blinky lights are mesmerizing. I still have yet to do a field test, but that’s for next week. Cody managed the overall instal, talked me through the final decisions, and gave me a lengthy walkthrough at delivery. All my questions were addressed, including those that have cropped up since completion. And on the rare occasions where a detail wasn’t immediately leaping to Cody’s mind, he tapped other folks to cover everything. They even offered a couple modifications late in the game that really extended what I can do. A last minute change in the PV panels nearly doubled my output and addressed my space constraints on the roof. And the self-jump button feels like a secret safety option that was only a matter of a button and a couple feet of cable. I’m almost thinking of leaving my headlights on so I can use this feature.I delighted with my experience at AM Solar and everyone I got a chance to interact with. While the proof will come once I spend a couple days in my truck using the power system, my confidence is wonderfully high that it will go splendidly. AM Solar’s attention to detail and truly human approach has been a stellar experience. And the couple folks (pros like my interior kit manufacturer and my local MB Sprinter dealer) have been blown away by what they saw in my rig. One detail I really loved was one of the outfitters saying, “Wow, is that a spare T-fuse there?”

We have had the worst experience with this company. they damaged our roof and now we have $15000 repair to worry about and when we contacted them they simply said our owners have changed so we are not liable. buyer beware. be prepared for poor workmanship. And if anything goes wrong be prepared to fight a legal battle

This place is awesome! We opted to use AM Solar based on hearing about them from several full-time RVers on YouTube. We are extremely happy with our experience and set up. The guys are really knowledgeable and have been super-responsive when weve had questions.We went with 600 amp hours of lithium batteries (Victron), a 3000 watt hybrid inverter, and a 50amp BlueSolar MPPT controller. We already had 4 100-Watt Zamp panels, but they added 2 more and fixed some poor wiring on the existing panels. They also converted our 120-watt Go Power portable panel to work with the lithium system.We now easily have enough capacity to get through a few full work days without worry, and the solar panels have been fantastic about topping everything off.We worked with Cody to coordinate everything. He kept us up to speed though out the process, was very fair in helping us weigh pros and cons and made recommendations based on our lifestyle and rig.When we picked it up, he walked us through everything in detail, demonstrated the capabilities and made sure we fully understood how to operate everything before we left.Weve been using our system for about 2 months now. So far everything has been excellent and weve had no issues.This is a great team here and we are very pleased with the quality of work.
