So this was my first visit to this hop as I was waaaay over for an oil change and my work schedule doesn’t give me enough to go to my local guy. They are across the street from my job so figured I give them a shot. Absolutely love this place Amanda and I hit right off and she was like talking with a life long friend. The gentleman in the front was also just the absolute friendliest. So the customer service deserves a 1000 stars. You will have to make an appointment which I prefer. I left my car there for my appointment they were done in an hour. But the best part is I got an email with a picture of my filthy air filter. Asking if I would also like to change it. Which I definitely did but to get a picture of it was astounding to me. This takes away from the distrust mechanics face and I find it to be a brilliant option I’ve never seen anywhere use. Like the comfort of knowing that it obviously needed to be replaced by getting picture proof is just what the car industry needs and all mechanics should use it! A1 has my business from here on out!

A1 Custom Car Care on Sunset is the most professional car shop I have been to. As a young woman, taking my car to an auto repair shop makes me quite afraid of being scammed out of money. Even if I know a little bit of the issue before hand, I have been made to feel stupid at other places, not here though. David here at A1 Custom Car Care was super nice and very thorough in his explanations of the situation at hand. Although, the diagnosis of my car wasn’t good news, they definitely earned themselves a returning customer. Thank you guys!

A-1 is the absolute best. They are honest, precise, and the quality of work is second to none. I have used their services for around 6 years. I go to them for small, regular maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations. I have used their services for bigger issues, like air conditioning issues, wheel bearing issues, brake pads, etc. They are always friendly, helpful, and quick to handle your issue. I wouldnt go to anyone else.

I use to work here and I can give my opinion on what customers do not see. The mechanics there are real mechanics. They are very detail orientated. Usually at shops the service advisor communication with the mechanics is lacking but not here. Very friendly staff and employees and they are lucky to have the service advisors and real mechanics who can prove their experience. Even though I am not employed there anymore I feel comfortable and confident in bringing my truck here still if it needs work done. Everyone they hire you can honestly trust to not take advantage of you and they will treat you like family.

Got my muffler repaired here and was very happy with the staff and service. They were able to show me on my car the things that they were going to fix and they were very open about pricing and options. I would highly recommend A-1 for car repairs.

This was an extensive repair of the manual transmission clutch replacement including flywheel, input shaft and associated bearings. Plus some routine maintenance of a brake system flush and cooling system flush. In addition to replacing a side mirror and from grill. Given some parts delayed, to be inspected, truck was there for 3 weeks. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and pricing, but most updates were me reaching out to them, not them reaching out to me. When notified ready, the 2 routine maintenance items were not performed and the incorrect grill was installed. Just feel some improvement on communication to me and among themselves is needed for an extended repair like this. NOTE: My truck will still be serviced by A1 for sure!

Was so thankful for the team at A-1 last week. Had a Land Rover LR4 that had a coolant line break, so had to get it towed from about 75 miles away. They were the only shop in the area that would even look at a Land Rover. They were honest, looked at it quickly and got parts on the way. The pricing was fair and they did everything they could to get me back on the road to Colorado, without ruining the vacation or road trip for my family. Would be back again if we ever find ourselves in that corner of the state again!

We had intermittent electronic problems on our Chrylser 200 C awd , diagnosed as simpler loose positive cable. On recommendation we had belts replaced .

I had gone to other places and they would not work on my truck. I took it to them and it was a simple tune up. They got it done faster than i was expecting. Have not had problems since.

I brought in my 2010 Ford to have 2 spark plugs changed, since I had changed 6 of the 8 myself. Instead of me hassling with the 2 plugs in the rear, I decided to let the professionals do a quick swap. Location Sunset Street. Since they would have special tools to make the job easier .Over 2 hours later it cost $150 to change 2 plugs! As a first time customer, I cant say that was good customer service. And I wish they would have been upfront and told me the estimate ahead of performing the repair. I am hesitant to go back because of this experience.

Got some unknown noise diagnosed, they were very through and walked me through what everything was. I also had my oil changed, very affordable. 10/10 would recommend.

The diagnostic was more thorough than I could have imagined. It included a 20 minute phone explanation of whats most needed and why some of the issues are occurring, what could be placed on the back burner, followed by an exact estimate of the cost for every repair and a grand total.

They were very professional. I was in and out in the time they said it would take . Will go back next time I need repairs or just maintenance.

These guys are awesome, my truck broke down on me on the way to work and they were the closest shop where I could be towed to and they got me in that day figured out the problem and replaced the part. Couple days goes by and I get the same check engine light code and it’s the same problem again and I take it back as they have a warranty on the work they do and they dove in deeper and found I had several wiring issues that were important to the health of the motor. They found the issues showed me everything that was wrong they were very professional and had great customer service and kept me updated throughout repairing the truck. They gave me an estimate up front and sent pictures throughout the repair process. Great with communication and they actually care about their customers and not just about the money and it’s awesome to see a shop like them around in today’s world. I’ll definitely go back with any other issues that may come up in the future.

I had my windshield wiper transmission break, and didn’t know what was going on. I took it to the shop on sunset and they were able to identify the problem quickly. Within a hour or two they got a knew transmission shipped to the shop from Oreillys and were able to replace ASAP.

I brought my car in to have a leaky tire checked. After finding a nail in the tire and quoting me a replacement, David suggested that I call the shop I originally purchased the tires from to see if I had road hazard warranty that would cover the tires. I called the other shop, my car ended up needing two tires replaced and I was able to get this done under warranty at no cost. I am SO appreciative that David made this suggestion to me - it shows that A-1 is concerned first and foremost about the customer’s best interest and not their own. I will definitely be back for future service needs!

Beware!!! They pressure you to spend money on unnecessary parts, and they will try to take advantage of you, not to mention the name calling.....They called my son poor(UNEXCEPTABLE) because he didnt want to fix every minut thing on a 2003 Ford Escape. Message me on fb and Ill show you a printout where they quoted $5,165 and the list of stuff they say he needs done. Its a daily driver btw, not overheating, not smoking. Just has a light on. Thank God we pulled the car out before it came to that.The price went from $300 to $800 to $1,000(we didnt even see the $5,000+ til we demanded a printout) Thank God they didnt start working on it yet!!!Took 2 hrs to get the car back but finally got it after we told them we wanted it back and paid what we owed at that point. It was simply just sitting in the shop.

I needed an AC repair. I took my car to a different shop initially who wanted me to pay an arm and leg and sacrifice my first born child for the repair. So I got a second opinion at A1. And what do you know? They diagnosed the issue in a reasonable amount of time and charged me HALF of what the other shop quoted me to fix it. Plus, they are super friendly, very transparent, and explain everything in detail in a way you can understand it. Definitely recommend this place and will absolutely take my car here again.

Wanted to use this company for some repairs because they were really friendly and thorough when diagnosing the problem. I wanted to use my warranty to cover some of the repairs but they wouldn’t put in the effort to contact them. Waited about 2 weeks to hear back and called to check in they said the hold was too long. If I have a warranty, I’m going to use it. Only bad experience here was that. otherwise would give them 5 stars.

The staff being very friendly treated my young boys and I with respect and care. This car company is clearly here for the customer, not themselves.All they were doing this time was an oil change, but saw that my air filter was very dirty and there was a lot of corrosion on my battery terminals. Before doing anything, David came in and made sure I was aware of the issues, showed them to me, told me the cost, and asked me if it was okay to proceed. Very professional and courteous to my needs.Above and beyond, and supporting customers during this pandemic, my boys and I brought lunch and homework with us hoping to be able to sit in their lobby chairs and work while waiting. We were immediately offered their break room lunch table which provided a perfect setup for lunch and the accomplishment of my kids homework. Really great customer service. Very appreciative!

I had my car towed to them and they diagnosed my car for me without charge when I wanted to send it to another shop to have it repaired as the other shop caused the damage. Very professional.

Ive been a diesel mechanic for 3 years for work. Now i do different work but still work on my own vehicles. This was a work vehicle. I Checked the vehicle before i brought it there they repeated to me what i already saw and just a few more issues i didnt check. A-1 is honest and have great customer service. Definitely recommend.

If I could rate 10 stars, I would. This business is phenomenal! Just when I had almost lost hope on my car, they saved the day. I spent over $800 trying to fix a shifting issue at another shop with no success, just waste of money. I took my car to Ryan and these guys found the issue and got it fixed very quickly for a very reasonable price considering what I had already spent. This is the only place I take my car to for regular maintenance (4 to 5 times a year), for the past 3 years. I’ve never once had a bad experience. The only issue, well more of an inconvenience, I ever experienced was my fault. It was the one time I forgot to schedule an appointment for my car’s maintenance and had to wait until they could work me in. No matter how busy they are, they have always been very courteous and welcoming when people come in. They are good folks who genuinely take care of their customers. It’s always been my experience that they’re being pretty forthright and have never tried to up-sell me anything. Plus, the cost of my car’s maintenance there has always been reasonable. I’m always recommending A-1 to folks and continue to do business with them as well.

This is a very nice and clean auto repair shop. Waiting room is neat and not cluttered. Free coffee, tea, hot coco. All the technicians are very nice and they know their stuff. Went in for a whole muffler replace on my Acura and they did a great job and even fixed some stuff under my car for free! Great job! I would recommend. Great customer service and great quality.

I have just recently started to bring my car to A-1 and have been very pleased with the overall experience they bring. From the appointment setting, the texting reminders, the diagnosis checking and text app, the way they deal and talk to you to explain ALL your options, etc. They aren’t just another shop out to get your money, they truly want what’s best for you and what is going to work in your budget and makes sense. I have been thoroughly happy and look forward to referring all my friends.

I called A-1 Custom Car Care and scheduled a appointment for a oil change. I had never been to this service garage before and was treated with courtesy and respect at the scheduling and at service. The oil change was quick and I received a texted message at each step of the process to keep me informed as to the status of the process-from taking it in, a pre-service inspection, to its completion. Their waiting area was very clean and I was not sold unnecessary parts or service but was educated as to the status of my cars needs and when they should be addressed. I believe this is a very good auto repair company and should be considered when and before you have a need for service or repair.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Only issue was with the pricing. They wanted almost $500 to replace a hub and charged me $105.00 just to tell me the hub is bad. I was able to get it done for $50.00 elsewhere.

I would highly recommend this place. The staff go above and beyond to give good customer service. The most pleasant experience of any mechanic place Ive been to. They will be getting my business from now on.

I think we’ve all had a bad experience with a mechanic shop that makes us weary to go back to another. I’m happy to say that A-1 Custom Car Care has restored my faith in the mechanical tech industry. The staff at the Sunset location goes above and beyond to give their customers the best satisfaction they can. They call you by name, use easy to understand language for those who don’t know that much about vehicles, and will even take you into the shop to show you what’s wrong and how they will be fixing it.Another thing I thoroughly enjoy about the Sunset location is the clean waiting room. Other shops are dirty and outdated, but the Sunset location is clean with phone chargers and desks if you have to work while you’re waiting on your vehicle. The owner is also on site, and she strives to make sure her business stays family oriented and local.The last thing that just blew me away was how understanding they are. The staff truly understands how expensive a car can be, but also understands that you can’t be without it forever. They are willing to work with financing, and don’t view you as another client with money. They see you as a person that works hard for your money. I 100% recommend A-1 Custom Car Care, any location.

I used a couple shops in town before now settling on A-1. As soon as you walk in, Ryan is super helpful. The facility is clean, well kept and when the work is done, you genuinely feel like they have your best interest in mind. They explain what was done and let you know if anything else needs a close eye kept on it. Ill continue to use A-1, especially the new location on Sunset.

I have used A1 Custom Care Car for a number of maintenance and car repair services. I had one negative experience at one of their other locations, but when reporting it to them I was transferred directly to their district manager (Dustin?). He listened to the issue, and heard my concern and understood the gravity of the potential issue. He asked me to let them make it right. I decided that would be a good idea, and they did make it right. They exceeded my expectations actually. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but these guys maintained my business by making it right. I hope you never have a negative experience, but if you do, give these guys a chance to make it right because they will. They care and are a good group of people.

We were vacationing in Branson when our car experienced engine trouble. We could not get it repaired in Branson. A-1 got us in on very short notice on a Saturday and corrected the fuel system malfunction quickly and efficiently. Very courteous and professional. Highly recommend

In my opinion best auto repair business in Springfield. Diagnose problems quickly and thoroughly and offered a couple different options. They are aware most of us are on a budget and keep that in mind when repairing your vehicle.

In an industry that tends to lack care and communication, A-1 Custom Car Care goes above and beyond. I’ve been plagued with issues with other auto repair shops where they rush to find a fix without 100% certainty, leaving me with a car that is still broke and a payment that is still due for a repair job that didn’t repair anything. A-1 on the other hand makes sure to do their due diligence to inspect everything and make sure they get the repair right the first time!

I recently moved to the Springfield area and picked A1 because of its good reviews. I needed the hoses changed on the radiator of my 94 Dodge Ram van and decided to have the radiator flushed at the same time. I made an appointment at A1 to have this done. I expected to have to wait 2-3 hours to have the work completed and came prepared for the wait. After about an hour Dustin came in and told me it would take most of the day to do the work needed on my vehicle. No further explanation. I live in Pleasant Hope and was told that A1 provides limited shuttle service but I lived too far away to take advantage of this service. My appointment was for 10 am. At 5 pm my van was drivable but the check engine light was on and it would not stay started without keeping ones foot on the gas while shifting into gear. Since it was closing time, I was asked to bring the van back so service could be completed. I paid the bill of $600+ and went home. After 7 hrs of sitting in the waiting area I was NOT a happy camper!! 😬 I took the van back the next morning at 8 am. Ryan was in the office that day and his customer service saved my rating from 1 star or less. Ryans customer service gets a 5. He said they wouldnt be able to look at my van til the afternoon because of morning appointments and got me an Uber ride home in 2 minutes. He kept me updated on repair progress by text and when the problem was figured out and fixed, he sent another Uber to pick me up and bring me back to the shop. Thanks Ryan!! 100% more sensitive customer service than the day before!! The repaired hoses look good. Will be testing them out on a long road trip in the next 2 weeks. A1 should give Ryan a raise and assure him of long term job security.

I took my vehicle in for a second opinion and received the feedback Id hoped for. They informed me what needs fixed now...and a timeline of what can wait and what I can budget for in the future. On top of that....they stayed late to accommodate my schedule, so they could walk me through their work. VERY PROFESSIONAL...Id recommend to anybody.

I was driving from New Mexico to Ohio and my clutch went out in my 2010 Jeep. I called A1 custom car on a Saturday. Ryan and Cody worked on my car all day Saturday and finished up on Monday. I will be back on the road Tuesday. My Jeep is running great. I would recommend this garage to my family and friends if they lived here. I must say this snag in my trip was very positive not only the good service at A1, but the people I encountered at the motels and the cab service. Nice city Springfield.

After coming here in August with my 2012 Cruze 3 months after we put a brand new turbo in my check engine light came back on for an underboost in my turbo. I called them first thing Monday and they got me in that morning. Ryan is amazing at addressing all concerns that I had. They dealt with all the warranty information for me and had my car back to me that same week. They are very informative about all the work they do. If it wasn’t for this shop I would have traded my car in by now. So very thankful for each and every one of them.

Front office staff have always been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The work has always been done timely and they have worked around my schedule to make sure I get to where I need to be when I need to be there. Great benefits and service after the work too!

Honest and dependable. The only shop I trust. I brought my girlfriend’s car in after another shop couldn’t diagnose a noise. They quickly discovered it was her unevenly worn tires due to not rotating them often and didn’t charge a dime.

A-1 is the best place to take your vehicle. They are helpful and priced fairly. They were able to work on a 1990 Jeep where others had turned me away because it didn’t have enough of a computer in it for them to get diagnostics.

Quick speedy service with an oil change. Additionally the staff pointed out potential issues on the horizon for my Honda and some preventative things I can do to better maintain my vehicle. They did a great job educating mewithout pressuring me. Highly recommend.Edit: I need more stars. So recently my tire pressure gage was going off. My husband dutifully checked and refilled the tires but days later it came back on. We figures it was new tire time and took it to A-1. We also opted to have some of the previous declined services performed.There is a HUGE difference in how my Honda drives. Previously it shuddered a lot and I could feel some hard shifting that made me worry about my transmission. They flushed out my power steering and replaced some break pads and it feels like a whole new car. It cost us a pretty penny to perform this much maintenance, but I know from past experience that this is WAAAAY better than it becoming a major repair. Absolutely worth it.
