As always, Hopkins comes through! We live 150 miles from Hopkins Automotive but choose to have them service our Subaru because of the outstanding service and depth of knowledge. My wife was in Spokane and a potential issue came up and Hopkins made the time to check it out. Thank you Hopkins!

I recently brought my Subaru to Hopkins because it was making a strange noise. They claimed they couldnt find anything wrong and assured me it wasnt anything to worry about. Less than a week later my car was broken down on the side of the road, it turned out my car had developed an oil leak and was completely out of oil. Apparently the mechanic at Hopkins who did the diagnostic didnt think to check the oil- negligence that cost me thousands of dollars.

I have been getting work done on our three subarus for 2+ years now. The crew at Hopkins are honest people doing good work. They communicate with you and tell it like it is. They dont over service you car. They do what needs to be done and they back up their work. They are a AAA rated shop as well.

Hopkins provided me outstanding service while demonstrating integrity. They could have easily charged double or triple the amount they asked for. My car was done right and delivered within hours of it being dropped off-on News Year eve! I have honestly never been treated this well, trust them- you can.

Awesome, knowledgeable, and generous. Oil change was cheaper than Jiffy Lube, and they dont try to sell you repairs you dont need. Super honest. Also, we had to get our front brake pads replaced, but the mechanic accidentally started by replacing the rear pads. They noticed this while the car was still getting serviced, and instead of taking the rear ones off, they just threw in the rear brake pads for free. Talk about a paragon of customer service. Oil change and replacing all my brake pads in about an hour, for only ~$300, is pretty darn good in my book. They are excellent at making sure any errors are in the customers favor, and they treat customers like fellow humans instead of just customers. Just a really, really great place.

If you have a Subaru, Hopkins is the only place to take it for service and repairs! I found them after feeling like I was getting taken advantage of at a local Subaru dealership. That was over five years and I wouldnt go anywhere else now.They are absolutely honest in what your car needs (or more importantly what it DOESNT need!). They treat you with respect regardless of how much you know about cars. They are able to work emergencies in quickly and prices are extremely fair.

These folks are fantastic! Great, quick and reasonably priced service.I broke down in Montana and got towed into their place. When I came the next day and explained my situation they let me know Id become a priority. Within two hours theyd ordered a new front axle and had it fixed. I was on the road home with no issues after that.If anything I wish they had another shop in Western Washington so I could become a regular. Much thanks Kevin and rest of the team 🙏

I started taking my car here after a friend made a recommendation. After one major repair and two smaller fixes in the time since, I’m so happy I found this shop. This is the only shop that works on my Subaru.

We bought a forester here in November. They have everything you need updated and ready to roll. They replace the head gasket, water pump and timing chain on everything before you buy it. Great deals and great service. We took it there for our first oil change and every oil change is full service with an inspection to make sure nothing is going wrong. It would be a bad idea to go anywhere else to buy or have a Subaru serviced.

At Hopkins you will find that hard to find, rare, one of a kind, old world service youve been longing for. I was originally referred to Hopkins by a Subaru outfit in Portland - that in and of itself it telling - their reputation travels. Ill end with how honest the folks, such as Cody at Hopkins are. I went in for a hundred dollar plus power steering o-ring service. Fully prepared to see that tacked onto my bill they advised it was merely a loose belt (that they tightened at no charge) saving me a good chunk of change. These guys really know their Subarus and you wont find better service, and more fair pricing anywhere else.

I have taken my outback here several times. The service has been good and the price very reasonable. Today they even charged me ~50 less than the estimate before starting the work.

I took my 93 Subaru Legacy here with having a good idea of what my problem was. They were very polite, quick and helpful in confirming my suspicion of a burnt valve in one of my cylinder heads. Not to mention that they only charged $45 for the diagnoses! Thats half the cost of what the Subaru dealership wanted! Definitely a fan.

Hopkins is the best Subaru mechanic in Spokane (even better than the dealerships). We have been taking our 2002 Outback there for 10 years. They are honest, reasonably priced, and they know what they are doing when it comes to fixing a Subaru. About 8 years ago, I made the mistake of taking our Subaru to another mechanic (the place that serviced our VW). This other place did such a substandard job, I realized that I would never go to any other place than Hopkins with our Subaru. Hopkins is a great shop, if you go anywhere else you are making a mistake.

So there I was, replacing the control arms on my Audi S4. One of the lower arms pulled the bushing out of the spindle/hub. I worked on it for two hours. Negative results. Rolled up to Hopkins and explained my problem. Fifteen minutes later and a bit of work on the 32 ton press and my problem was solved. Cost...zero. These people run a great shop. Thanks guys.

Very honest and straightforward shop. These guys only charged me for a fraction of their minimum charge because the problem was easy to fix. They could have easily charged more but they didnt. Integrity is rare nowadays. Will use this shop again for my Subaru needs.

We recently had our 2009 Outback in for a timing belt replacement. Not only did Hopkins replace the belt and all necessary parts (water pump, gaskets etc.), but through inspection determined one of the cylinder heads was cracked. This could have led to disaster. The head was repaired and now our Outback runs like new. The attention to details and quality of work by Hopkins Subaru is beyond reproach!

These are the most honest mechanics I have ever used. They diagnosed my issues w/ a 2008 Outback and told me how to fix one myself to save $$$. Who does that this day and age? THESE GUYS! :) They also fixed my power steering by replacing a rubber part vs. replacing the whole hydraulic assembly. They were honest that it was a temporary fix, so I knew what to expect in the future. Saved me hundreds of dollars.I travel from CDA to get this level of service.

I wanted to get a second opinion on a suggested repair for my Subaru. After a quick diagnostic, Hopkins assured me that the repair wasnt dire (as I had been lead to believe), and found two other things to fix. The first (a loose Oil filter) was fixed on the spot and the second (a tiring clutch, after 163,000 miles, thank you very much!) was recommended to be done at the same time as the original work in question saving me $900 for them not having to remove my engine twice. The total estimate (for both repairs) came in at less than what the other place quoted me for the original! I will be bringing my Subaru to Hopkins and their honest team from now on!

These guys are great! I called on a Thursday, got an appointment the following Tuesday. Dropped off my car and these guys took great care of me. Performed a major service at a fraction of the cost the Subaru dealership had quoted me. They went above and beyond and maintenanced what needed to be done and did not once try to upsell or repair anything that didn’t need attention. They were honest, quick and delivered everything promised at very reasonable rates. I will not take my Subaru anywhere else! Would recommend to anyone, not just Subaru owners!

Not only was the staff friendly but, Kevin took the time to explain, in detail, the repairs that needed done. The engine needed removed from the car to replace both head gaskets as well as a few other things. He told me that it might take 2-3 days depending on some machine shop work that had to be done. My car was done the next afternoon!!! And she drives like she did the day I bought her. Hopkins is now THE ONLY place Ill take my car!!! High five guys...

I took my vehicle into Hopkins. Kevin helped me with everything. I had an extended warrenty that they accepted, he called and made sure the work would be covered once they figured out the problem. They already had the part ordered and on the way the same day. I thought I was going to have to wait a few days to get my vehicle back like at other car dealership here in town. But they had it all ready to go the same day. I appreciate everyone there and their trustworthy, honest handling of my car problems. I know I wont be taking my car to anyone else going forward!!

Sadly disappointed with the experience we had at this mechanic. A year ago they worked on our top end on the head and guaranteed the work they did on it. when we took the car back in this month to have the radiator replaced, they promised again it would be good for another year or two. when we drove it to work that next morning it over heated worst than when we had it before thier repair and when we called them on it they did tow it back and examined it. But we got the worst call and were told the head was the issue and would be 1800$ to fix (we barely had enough 450$ for the radiator) dont go here unless your ready to throw your hard earned money away. And if theyre supposedly the best Subaru mechanic youd think theyd can handle any subaru age and issue. Not recommended!

We discovered Hopkins Auto Sales & Subaru Repair by looking on-line. Since we just moved to Spokane we wanted to find a reliable mechanic. We took our 2014 Forester there to check them out and they gave us a free inspection. Not only that, they told us we could bring our own oil & oil filter in when we have it serviced. Wow! So a few weeks later our Honda Civics check engine light came on. We called them up, brought it down, and they ran a scan on it, which cleared the problem--at no charge! Well now Ive brought my oil & filter in and they have happily used them on my Forester. We have found our reliable mechanic and highly recommend Hopkins.

I purchased a used Outback XT from a private seller and immediately the engine failed. I took the car to Hopkins and they dropped a new short block with touched up heads into the car. Used to be a five star establishment, however recent changes in management (or ownership?) have lowered my opinion. Have taken my auto there for simple oil change and to ask about check engine light. Will only clear the check engine light, never a discussion as to why it is turning on, so the underlying issue is still not resolved. A $10 Wal-Mart tool can do that. The only thing mentioned is that is not an issue. Not sure what changed, but it hasnt been for the better.

Our Outback had a small transmission leak. After getting a quote from AutoNation Subaru, we took it to Hopkins. They did the job for less than 1/4 the price of the dealer, and also repaired a cam o-ring leak for a very reasonable price. We will be back for sure if we need Subaru service again!

Phenomenal!These guys stepped in when many shops wouldnt touch my car! I had taken my car to a DIFFERENT shop for repairs and later found out the mechanic vanished after parting my car out and stealing my engine. Insurance stepped in and the hunt began to find this shop. They came recommended by the dealership I purchased my car from and easily worked with my insurance. They were amazing to talk to on the phone during the whole process, providing updates and answering questions. They had found a used engine with less miles than my odometer read and had me back in my car in a very short time frame. I was so happy i could have cried with how easy they made the process after the nightmare the previous guy put us through. We were in the market for a used Forester and brought the potential purchase in for an analysis. Got great help from both Kevin and Cody. Cody especially was fantastic in getting us the Carfax and the NADA value on the 06 Forester. Plus his excellent suggestion for using surgical tubing to minimize the freeway wind noise that was my primary concern about the car.We are not car-savvy enough to tell a good used car from a bad one.
