Book Trader - South Bend is a great resource to buy or rent textbooks. Considering I live in the Elkhart area, I love that I can call to see if there is a book available and they either tell me at that moment or call me back with the information within a few minutes. The books are in great shape and are reasonably priced compared to the campus bookstore. The gentleman at the counter is always polite and helpful also!

I don’t know why people are saying it’s a good place maybe I went to a different location but the guy that helped totally roped me off for my books that should have one to almost $100 and only said they were worth $30 for all 6? Can someone please explain how I can get my money’s worth ?

I held onto by books for too long and brought in 4 years worth of textbooks. The gentleman behind the counter was great! He went through every book and told me what would and wouldn’t be worth money, and then the books that I could get cash for, he took them anyways and said he’d take care of them. It’s great to just be free from the 50lbs of books I had!

I was super nervous coming in, because I have finally graduate and Ive got this milk crate full of books and I was so ready to be looked at weird. But I had such friendly help and I didnt feel like a stranger, it was easy and fast. Theres not a lot of places in town to sell books and honestly this was my favorite place.

I love the fact they pay cash on the spot! I cant stand dealing with campus bookstores or online places where you have to ship books. Half the time the online places quote you one price then once they get your books, they find all kinds of problems with them and then give you some ridiculous price. I had a stack of loose leaf books that I had been sitting on for a semester or two and was looking to get rid of them. The college doesn’t buy back loose leaf text books, so I called the Book Trader store in South Bend. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and let me know that they do buy back loose leaf books. I went in a few days later and he was able to buy back all of my books that I had brought in, one wasn’t really worth anything because it was outdated, but I was really only looking to get them out of my closet, the customer service was great, and the money I got back was more than I thought I would. I would recommend this book store to any college student looking to get rid of their books.

A good place to buy or sell your college books and right near IUSB Campus. This is a small store and they dont buy all your books back or have what you need to buy all the time. Limited parking available and there is no restroom available.

I have had both experiences. First you need to understand supply and demand. If the book you are selling it is not in demand or they have too many, the price drops. Sometimes IUSB gives more, sometimes its Book Trader, sometimes its Amazon. If you want the most money for your book, you gotta do like everything else - put some effort into it. If you are not willing to spend the time on it, then it is your loss. Dont blame your laziness on someone else. Its scary to think these people will be in our workforce running things soon if they cant understand this simple concept.

This place is always so helpful for selling and when buying textbooks! I dont go anywhere else.

Always come here after finals week. 7 times out of 10 i actually make a profit on the books that i sell back there. 10/10 would recommend.

Do people honestly expect a full refund on their textbooks? If thats the case, rent them. I usually just go to my campus bookstore to sell my books back, but I get more from Book Trader. Ive taken books there that Bethel couldnt give me money for and gotten at least something for them. Just before Christmas I took 3 books there that Bethels bookstore couldnt pay me for and got $20. Thats better than nothing. Quit complaining and making this place out to be crap because its not. You will never be fully refunded for your college textbooks and the sooner you get over that, the sooner more helpful reviews can be posted. I would DEFINITELY recommend coming here.

I agree,this place is a rip-off. I was offered $20.00 for $300.00 in text books. Hopefully someone sees this review before going. I would also recommend that they go to their college to resell their text.

I dont know why people give this place a bad review. Guess they just dont understand supply in demand. If you have a common book that they already have tons of copies of, they cant offer you full price. Where IUSB was only going to give me 5 dollars for a brand new 500 dollar book, this place offered me 100 bucks. If you want to cut out the middle man go to amazon and sell it yourself, if you want cash today then go here. Its not a ripoff like these people think.

This store is scam.i took three textbooks for $300 and when i sell them, they offered $20 for me.on-campus bookstore give you more than here. just do not use this store. Also, this store says buying all of textbooks, but they do not buy past semester textbooks.
