My father was referred by a friend and then he referred me! From the first call to being greeted when I entered the door this business has great customer service! They are very knowledgeable in their work and truly ask all the questions to find what ever is wrong with your vehicle! Everyone was very kind and helpful, and remember you when you come which I find is excellent customer service as well! Highly recommend! They were fantastic!

These guys went above and beyond to ensure that my truck got fixed right and as specified. They offer great financing options for people like me on a budget, and they work with you to ensure you can pay for what you need to have repaired. They do what they say, when they say they’ll do it, and let you know promptly if there is any change. Their mechanics are literal wizards trained in arts for which I shall never comprehend. My wife and I were in town from Texas visiting our family and needed to replace a tire. I didn’t notice the tire problem until we were already leaving town and my tire sensor showed low air in the tire. I checked and saw a split in the sidewall. After checking with several other tire shops who could not find the correct tire I needed, our son recommended 12th Street Auto shop. Tony was able to find the specific tire I needed for my BMW and had us on our way very quickly. I highly recommend this business.

My A/C went out in my car on Monday. I was able to get my car in on Wednesday afternoon. It was fixed in a couple of hours. I also liked it that they gave me a ride to my hotel instead of having to wait at the shop. Great service, fair pricing and quality work. I recommend this shop highly.

I made an appointment to get my oil changed, and I have some idling issues that needed to be diagnosed... when I got to the place, my appointment was not made and I waited to figure something out... they said they would be able to get it in that day, it was a Thursday... I figured it would be the nest day...well, nothing happened all weekend, so I called on Monday to see whats up... I got a response saying some thing took longer than expected, they would be getting it in within the next day or 2... a whole week went by, still nothing... I contacted again, same thing, but this time I said I needed to have my vehicle as I was moving... so, after 10 days of nothing I just picked it... made an appointment elsewhere, it is currently getting diagnosed as we speak... Ive only been waiting a half hour... it was a busy week, but more communication and scheduling correctly happens in the world... today ot happened to me...

My first experience with them started good when they gave me a ride back to my house while I waited, but I feel the ball got dropped somewhere with my service. I realize you get busy, but I made an appointment 4 days in advance. Poor communication and excuses all day lead to being without a vehicle all day(and almost the beginning of the next day if they didn’t stay late, which I do appreciate). Overall my experience was frustrating.

I brought my Chevy Equinox in to diagnose and fix an engine problem and I was beyond impressed with their service. Very professional guys! They were very up front about their pricing and what they were going to do with my car. Loved the texting and online features they used so I knew exactly what the progress was. They explained everything to me and did very thorough work to ensure i wouldn’t have any issues after they worked on my car. This is the first mechanic shop i’ve been brave enough to use since moving to town and i won’t take my car anywhere else. Required an inspection of a 1989 Pontiac Trans AM prior to purchasing from the local 805 dealer and paying $$$ shipping costs to transport to California. Service Manager, Josh, was incredibly patient and cooperative through our multiple conversations and emails even accommodating our requests for additional confirmation of the condition of the vehicle. Inspection was scheduled within 24 hours. While there were a couple of unfortunate issues discovered, 12th Street provided us enough information on the situation to feel confident in proceeding in concluding the purchase. Selected them based on the high number of Google/Yelp reviews and its now a genuine pleasure to add our review to their long list of happy customers.

I have been using 12th st auto care for five years now. Ive never had anything but an amazing experience with them. They helped me get a vehicle back on the road quickly after an accident. I know anytime I need something done in my vehicle Tony, Aaron or Josh will help you get a course of action and the mechanics will get it done fast and efficiently. They always go above and beyond you wont be dissatisfied that you chose them.

I came here on the recommendation of a close friend. She stated that their prices were fair, the guys were friendly and knowledgeable and, almost most importantly, they treated women well. (If youre a woman reading this, you know what I mean.) She was right on all counts. Tony and Josh were thorough and professional. As I drive an old car, Josh took time to explain what needed love right now and what could wait. I will be back to take care of what can wait. We were traveling cross country when our car overheated and engine malfunctioned. We were brought to 12th Street Auto and the staff, including Tony and Aaron, took such great care of us. From doing diagnostics to setting up tow and plans for hotel, they went above and beyond any service center has ever done for us. We will forever be appreciative! Highly recommend for locals and out of towners.

My vehicle broke down and was towed to the facility. They managed to get me in, even though they were very busy. They diagnosed it as a probable failed fuel pump and I was given a repair estimate. The part was ordered. When they got inside, they found it was not as serious as anticipated, and was only wires that appeared to have been chewed on by mice. The fuel pump was ok, so they would return the part, and I would not be charged for it. The actual cost ended up to be half of what they quoted. I was impressed that they were honest about this, and took care of me, the customer, instead of putting the part in and charging me for it, as some others might have done. The workers were very friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. I sat for a couple of hours in their waiting area, which was comfortable with a TV, flavored coffee machine, water machine, and a vending machine. They even explained which businesses and eating places were within walking distance, if I wanted to leave for awhile. They went the extra mile with their customer care. I will use them again and will recommend them to friends & family.

As a customer from out of state, I cannot say enough of the peace of mind Tony gave me on inspecting my used vehicle purchase.

Heard a major clunking noise and was afraid it was my brakes, but it was a problem with a ball joint. They took care of that problem, got me new tires and did an alignment.What I appreciated most was that they were able to get me in quickly. Im from Aberdeen, and was in town to be with my brother who was in hospice. They were gracious and quick. I also appreciated that they didnt try to manipulate me into fixing the entire list of things they found, but only those things that needed to be done to get me home safely.

They never let me know about a $40 charge to give me an estimate. I let them know my brake problem and they said bring it in we will give you a quote. It cost me $40 to tell me $454 for labor charges to do repairs. Guess they give outrageous quotes to see who they can suck in. If not interested in service then $40 for getting the quote. I will never go back and recommend they same to others.

I have been using 12th St. Auto for several years now. They are very professional and willing to take the time to explain the difference between what needs to be taken care of right away and what can wait. I appreciate that as it allows me to schedule maintenance items that are not immediately required.

About a month ago, I was passing through from Kansas when my turn signals failed on my antique camper van. These guys have great reviews, so I thought Id give them a try.They were able to get me in in two days (I had local hookups through BoondockersWelcome.com and my hosts were very obliging and let me stay on the two extra days).Ive never felt more welcomed at an auto service shop! It is evident that they love their job and their customers! They even let me bring my cat inside the waiting room in his carrier and let me hold him on his leash.The guest Wi-Fi wasnt working me or the other customer who was currently there and they promptly got on it and got it working.They didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need and the problem was exactly what I thought it was. They were able to get the part I needed in town and within 15-20 minutes, it was there and I was out the door in 2 hours and I still have all four limbs (it didnt break the bank).I was so impressed, that last week, I called and spoke to Tony about the ethanol gas in Iowa and he helped me understand the difference between all of these variants and which one to get, so that I would get the best gas mileage. Thank you for taking the time to help me understand! I really appreciate it, especially since I was on the road for a month, and this will help me in the future and hopefully other people who read this review!

12th Street auto always does an incredible job! Ever since moving here Ive heard so many bad reviews about other places that this is the only place Ill trust with my car. All the employees here are extremely patient, kind and charismatic. I always know that Ill get a reasonable price and theyre not going to try to take advantage of me.

They wanted to charge 145 dollars for a part that costs 50 dollars and 5mins to replace via 1 10 millimeter bolt, absolutely not a fair way to conduct business I will never come back and make sure my friends and family never come back as well. All in all I paid 100 dollars for a diagnostic test which consisted of 20 mins on a diagnostic tool while never turning a wrench they have lost my business forever

We had our SUV break a timing chain. 12th Street Auto helped us diagnose the problem, come up with options, and were even flexible about timing of when to perform fixes/diagnostics. They gave us options of how to repair the car and even were accepting when we said that we were going to trade the car in. They also coordinated towing of the vehicle for us. They have a small-town feel and great customer service. Would recommend to anyone needing diagnostic or car repairs in the Sioux Falls area.

My fuel pump went out and it needed to be towed to a shop. I got referred to them and Im very happy I did. They walked me through getting a tow from the company they use. They were upfront about the cost of diagnosing and then called with the cost of fixing it. Price was right in line with what Ive heard it cost people to have their fuel pumps replaced. The guys in the shop are super friendly and know what theyre talking about. Theyve got my business for as long as Im in town.

Needed ac compressor fixed. It was difficult to diagnose, and they upfront told me theyd rather not fix it until it was confirmed to be the problem. Got it fixed promptly and at a good price. They also let me drive around some fun loaner cars. Ill probably be going back the next time something breaks. Josh and his team were great!

My car was stolen with my phone inside so it was found quickly. AAA wanted me to tow it to 12th Street Auto since they have a contract/discount of some kind. Spoke with John, very nice, and he assured me that once I approved the work it would be done in a day. I told him I needed to speak with insurance and see if I’d be filing a claim or not... after 2 weeks of insurance craziness it was finally approved! I was so excited to tell John... only to be spoken to like a stereotypical woman who doesn’t understand a man’s job. While I love being talked down to by men... I won’t be doing business with anyone who tells me one thing and then does another. He said, “Listen, I’ve been doing this 18 years...” yet you don’t know how to follow through with what you already told a struggling single mom? If he’d told me it would be another week after approval, I wouldn’t be upset. But to tell me it’s only a few hours worth of work, parts easily attainable... then because the process was more stressful than anyone wanted, I’m without a vehicle for another week and back to crying tears of frustration. It’s a harsh realization that if I were a man, or a woman with unlimited financial means, my vehicle would be fixed and back in my driveway right now.

Usually I go here for oil changes and tire rotations. I love the customer service I receive when I come here and the employees do well in educating you about what comes up. However my most recent experience was not as great. My car was making a knocking sound, when I took it in they repaired an issue my car had, told me it was good as new but when I drove off the lot the noise was still there. I examined the car myself as it was now after hours, & found the problem which was an easy fix & was able to take care of it myself. if they had bothered to lift my car up or looked underneath it the issue would’ve been solved when I took it in. The engine light is still on. So I am sure there is still something that needs to be done or didn’t get fixed. I am pretty disappointed with the results of this repair visit which is unfortunate because this was my favorite place to take my car.

The guys I’ve worked with (john&josh) have always thoroughly explained what was needed to fix my vehicle. I appreciate the honesty they give for what repairs are needed. On 2 different accounts I was informed of what needed to be done and what other repairs could be performed but not necessarily needed at the moment. They have been great at utilizing my warranty and the hassle it takes to get approval for those fixes. I will keep using them in the future and will send people there way.

Coming across country and needing car repair can be pretty risky business. There are many who get burned in the process. Thankfully found these guys and would highly recommend them to anyone. Had a check engine light come on but came in for an oil change because I was convinced it had to do with the oil. I came to that conclusion from using a code reader and some testing. John was great assuring me that although the reader is helpful obviously theirs does a lot more. Long story short there was too much oil from the previous oil change and a oil regulator had gone out. Not only were these guys able to fix it but all in the same day and had me back on the road with a Napa guarantee and piece of mind. I feel very fortunate and am very thankful for such a great shop. They will take care of you while explaining in detail if you want. Whats great is I felt more than taken care of rather than taken advantage of...very professional and willing to go the extra mile. Keep at it guys, see you next time I buzz on through - hopefully just to say hi. :-)

My daughter Called a 7:30 am for a tire repair. She needed them to come to her place to fix my tire. Tried to say her car needed towed. $$$. Taking advantage of a Out of town young girl. Gave her the run around all day and then told her itd be 2 days till they could get to her. They could put her in a loaner car that would cost money. Her dad is a trucker and deals with tires all the time. Total BS from these guys. Will never do business here.

I brought my car in to 12th Street Auto on 2.26.21 mainly because the coolant light on my Subaru Outback was staying on for a while when I would initially start the car. They were also going to look over a few other issues. They had my car for 2 weeks (3.11.21) and never offered me a loaner vehicle even though they mentioned having several. They ended up fixing one issue, but nothing had to be done with the coolant because apparently with newer Subaru’s the light stays on till the engine is warmed up. There is a dent above my passenger wheel that they were going to see if they could fix and if they couldn’t, they were going to recommend me to someone. They did not do either. As I was driving home from their shop my car started to make an unfamiliar noise and began to smoke. I pulled over and when I got out there was green liquid all over the ground. I called my dad in a panic because at this point their shop was closed. My dad came to my rescue and discovered that the hose to the coolant was completely disconnected as if they did not clamp it back on tightly after looking over the vehicle. Luckily, my car hadn’t been running that long so I am hoping no serious damage was caused to the engine. This careless mistake could of ended up overheating my engine and ruining my car. I called the following day about the issue, no one answered so I left a message with my technician. I never heard back so I called the day after that and the next week and still could not get through to anyone. I finally got through to someone almost a week later on 3.18.21. I expressed my frustration to the nice man on the phone and he told me to bring it in the next day and they would look everything over and wash the bottom of car. I was not satisfied with this because my dad and I had already done this besides washing the bottom of the car, which I found out when I picked it up that they never did this. I felt like this was a complete waste of time because I had to find a ride there and back and borrow a vehicle again while they looked over my car. I would have rather been offered a free oil change or some type of compensation for the labor that had been done to my vehicle prior. When I got there to drop off my vehicle the man at the front desk had no record of me calling or notes on the issue. He also could not guarantee I’d have my car by the end of that day. I was not prepared for this and it was not stated the day before on the phone with the other gentlemen I spoke to. I made it clear that I needed my car back that day especially since this was their mistake. I called around 4 to make sure it would be done by the time they closed. If it was not going to be I was going to just pick it up regardless since the work they were doing was basically unnecessary, but thankfully the car was ready. When I picked up my vehicle the man at the front desk underplayed how much of a problem this could have been if my car would of overheated. He said something along the lines of “Yeah, this stuff happens sometimes, crazy stuff.” I was bummed at how this whole situation was handled. I had been to 12th Street Auto back in October to get my timing belt and back brake pads replaced. I thought they did great work and in a timely manner and had good communication and customer service. This left me confident in going back to them months later for other work I needed done. After this whole experience I will be taking my business elsewhere because it left me feeling frustrated at the lack of communication, dissatisfied with their quality of work, and I did not feel like they made right of the situation.

Check in was easy, updates and review of service before any work was done was completed. I am slightly curious about the gas consumption. Took it in with a full tank and picked it back up with less than 3/4 of a tank. I am thinking it was used to let the car run for the ac repair. Not upset just curious. Glad to have the transmission flush suggested and completed.

I put the wrong gas in my car by accident on a road trip to see my dad in Illinois on Xmas eve day. Toyota wasn’t open so we pulled in there! The guys we’re professional, honest, and fun to work with. (Especially Johnny) they were swamped but still made sure they got me in. My RAV4 was involved in an accident and was towed to 12th Street Auto. The shop was very friendly and helpful, even to the point of giving me a ride to the nearest hotel. Follow up was excellent too. I lived 5 hours away, and the crew (Tony) saw to it that my belongings were taken out of the car before it was towed to salvage. I will be meeting him soon to get my belongings, including license plates and garage door opener. Good to work with friendly and professional people!

I found a large bolt had been picked up by my tire. I happened to be close to 12th St Auto so I took a chance and stopped in to see if they could repair the tire. I had to leave the care and they had to work me in, gave me a ride home so I did not have to wait there and then they got it fixed and I am back on the road again. Because I bought the tires from them in the first place, I did not get charged for the repair either. These guys are great!

Hit a deer on our way back to Michigan over a holiday weekend. Got our vehicle towed to 12th Street Auto. Excellent customer service and professional attitude. They coordinated with a local body shop to get the repairs to my suburban completed. 18 year old vehicle looks almost new! I did have to call in to get status updates on timeline and progress, but after picking up my vehicle and seeing the waiting area overflowing with customers I realize the locals know they have a great repair shop in town!

Told one price. Charged another. Won’t be back.Was not my coupon. Gave a $25 discount on the alignment. Was told total would be $30 plus tax. Still charged double. I know what I was told.

From the minute that we walked in at 7:30am we were treated with the up most respect & professionalism....We are traveling across the states in an Class B (RV) & needed some mechanical work done....We did not have an appt and they accommodate us without question or hesitation....The desk and personal were friendly & extremely helpful...kept us informed...I wouldnt think twice...this is a TOP NOTCH garage! I chose this place for the first time because of the reviews and it was a good choice. I set up a last minute appointment and they got me in right away the next morning, even though I showed up 15 minutes early. Very friendly staff over the phone and in person as well. The price was not too expensive and I was in and out, in no time. I will definitely be coming back.

Traveling across country on a tight schedule and all the protective rubber and plastic in my undercarriage had come loose and got shredded on my front tire. I came in with no appointment, car got looked at right away, gave me options on what to do, and got me back on the road in about half an hour. No charge, and nice personable conversation with Tony Nielson, Service Advisor the whole time. If you are looking for trustworthy, kind, fair and competent car service hit them up! Had no problems for the rest of my drive to Vermont.

We have had an issue with our 15 passenger van that several places never really fixedover the past year. These guys fixed part of it and then when, a week later, something else was wrong with it, they asked us to bring it in, found the issue, actually called Ford about it, and discovered what was really going on. We are thankful we now have a working AC and answers for what may happen down the road.

12th Street Auto Care Center is the only place Ill go to. The employees are very professional and friendly. Their prices are fair and their warranties are top notch.

Brought my vehicles in a few times to 12th street and have been very pleased with the knowledge, transparency, and integrity of all involved. One example here: my car broke down 5 days after having it in the shop so I had it towed to 12th street. Little did I know I forgot my apartment keys!!! Eventually through mutual connections, the co-owner Shane agreed to meet us 2 hours after they closed on a Saturday so I could get my keys back. And on top of all that, they didnt charge me much at all for the repair as it was something they stated they missed at my appointment 5 days prior. I will not be bringing my car anywhere else as long as Im still in Sioux Falls. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I was thoroughly impressed with their transparency in the inspection process, including taking pictures of all the potential issues and including them in the service report.
