I got a great deal from these guys on a beam remnant. They even offered to cut it to length and deliver it for a fraction of the cost of other outfits.After I ran into some roadblocks and was unable to take delivery of the beam, the staff at State Steel of South Dakota were willing to work with me with me and held the beam even though it was in their way. I really appreciate their understanding, willingness to work with me, and their great prices and services.5 star service.

So they have a little flyer in their office that bribes people to leave a 5 star rating in exchange for a $10 Amazon gift card. I have had pretty good experiences with them in the past, so I was fully intending to take advantage of this offer.However, after my most recent trip I could not in good conscience give that level of review. They have two bays for loading and unloading, but for some reason they had one of them closed. In the other bay they were getting a whole semi delivered. As a result, both the guy in front of me and myself had to wait like a half hour just to pick up the couple little pieces we each needed. I literally fell asleep in my truck waiting. They clearly need to figure out a better system! Sorry guys, but you only get a 3 star since you wasted so much of your customers time.

Nice place to buy steel

Their products can be used in a wide variety of applications, they have the stuff that you cant quite find at hardware stores. I purchased a 3/16 thick piece of aluminum 12 long and 2 wide for my leather work. The edge is smooth and precision, even resonates nicely when you balance it and hit with a mallet. I was surprised how well theyre set up for will call purchases.

Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. The lady that answers the phone is rude . They act like they have to go out of their way to take your order. I have no idea how they get buy being so unprofessional in the office.
